These new levels will enable a new item, two relics, and a new ultimate magic spell for the game's four allegiances.<br /><br />The update will also include a multiplayer stats screen and a number of bug fixes. Audio issues are the biggest priority there, but problems with matchmaking and certain weapon unlocks are also due to be fixed in this update. There's no official release date for the patch yet, but Napoli says it's on the way.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/05/god-of-war-ascension-update-increases-level-cap-fixes-audio-gl/">God of War: Ascension update increases level cap, fixes audio glitches</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 05 Apr 2013 04:00:00 EST. But as hard as the task will be, Pitchford has confirmed Gearbox will do it, predicting on Twitter a <a href="https://twitter.com/DuvalMagic/status/300058759106007040">"100% chance"</a> that we'll see a level cap increase this year.<br /><br />He then goes on to admit that he's only "50\50 on unforeseen consequences that some people will rage about." Obviously, by definition, we can't foresee those, but Pitchford says there's no end of possible issues to the game, from skill tree balance to leveled-up enemies to even things like shotgun shell counting. One bug in the game, Pitchford says, applied a shotgun bonus to every single bullet in a shotgun blast rather than just the gun in general.<br /><br />"Sometimes we trap ourselves. We get painted into corners on things. It's tricky," Pitchford said in an interview with <a href="http://venturebeat.com/2013/02/07/borderlands-2-level-cap-increase/">VentureBeat</a>. "But we're committed to it." So yes, expect the chance to level up past 50 in <em>Borderlands 2</em> sometime this year.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/11/pitchford-borderlands-2-has-100-chance-of-level-cap-increase/">Pitchford: Borderlands 2 has '100% chance' of level cap increase this year</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 11 Feb 2013 21:30:00 EST. Insomniac is raising the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/resistance-3"><em>Resistance 3</em></a> multiplayer beta level cap from 20 to 30 this weekend, and promises some "new stuff" to play with, Senior Community Manager James Stevenson <a href="http://twitter.com/#!/JamesStevenson">tweeted</a>. Stevenson hasn't offered any details about what "stuff" is coming for us, so if a roller-skating grizzly bear spawns next to you on Seaside this weekend, don't say we didn't warn you.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/26/psa-resistance-3-multiplayer-beta-level-cap-increasing-adding/">PSA: Resistance 3 multiplayer beta level cap increasing, adding mysterious 'new stuff'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 26 Aug 2011 19:30:00 EST. Though we're dutifully saving our hard-earned <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/halo-reach">Halo: Reach</a></em> credits for the "Pestilence" armor effect, some of you may already be thirsting for new duds in the game's Armory. Bungie's latest <a href="http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?type=topnews&amp;cid=29272">weekly update</a> reveals that not only will <em>Reach</em> players get new armor options in the near future, but also the ability to blow past the game's max rank of Lieutenant Colonel Grade C -- all players have to do is complete <em>117</em> <em>million</em> daily and weekly challenges first!<br />
<br />
Though that might sound somewhat lofty, Bungie predicts that its community's goal will be hit "sometime in November." We'll start doing our part for the cause <em>right now</em>, if you'll excuse us.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/17/halo-reach-multiplayer-rank-cap-lifts-this-november/">Halo: Reach multiplayer rank cap lifts this November</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 17 Oct 2010 11:30:00 EST. The biggest issue facing most <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/borderlands"><em>Borderlands</em></a> players has to be the level cap. When you reach level 50, what do you do next? Sure, you could start up a new character and do it all again, but what if you have each class maxed out? Well, then we think the technical term is: <em>you're boned</em>.<br />
<br />
That won't be the case for much longer, as Gearbox's Jason Reiss recently popped on <a href="http://gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=94772">the company's forums</a> to guarantee the most-requested feature for the game was indeed in the works. Not only will there be new <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/borderlands,dlc">DLC</a>, but Reiss also confirms there's another update coming that "solves a bunch of issues." That's like two for the price of one, right? Wait, our math may be a bit off -- moving on!<br />
<br />
There's no timetable for either the update or DLC at this point, but Reiss says we can expect a full announcement "soon." And you can expect a post about it on our website when there's more info because that's how this relationship works.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/21/next-borderlands-dlc-raises-level-cap/">Next Borderlands DLC raises level cap</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 21 Jan 2010 19:37:00 EST. Bethesda likes you <em>just as you are</em>, Capital Wastelander. At the very least you don't need to keep working on that level grind in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fallout-3"><em>Fallout 3</em></a>, as Bethesda's Jeff Gardiner confirmed to <a href="http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2009/07/17/bethesda-further-level-cap-increases-could-unbalance-fallout-3/">MTV Multiplayer</a> that the game's level cap won't be raised beyond 30. (Back in May, the game's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/broken-steel/">Broken Steel DLC</a> increased the maximum possible level from 20 to 30.)<br /><br />He did, however, note that he's "sure we'll [Bethesda] look into addressing these concerns in future games." Though the company is farming out development of next year's expansion <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fallout-new-vegas"><em>Fallout: New Vegas</em></a> to Obsidian, the <em>Fallout</em> IP is still very much in Bethesda's hands -- making us wonder if we'll see what Mr. Gardiner is talking about as soon as <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/20/fallout-new-vegas-coming-to-consoles-next-year/">next year</a>. <br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fallout-3-broken-steel-dlc/">Fallout 3 Broken Steel DLC</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fallout-3-broken-steel-dlc/#1507611"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/04/brokensteelscreenies12104091024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fallout-3-broken-steel-dlc/#1507612"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/04/brokensteelscreenies42104091024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fallout-3-broken-steel-dlc/#1507613"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/04/brokensteelscreenies52104091024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fallout-3-broken-steel-dlc/#1507614"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/04/brokensteelscreenies62104091024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fallout-3-broken-steel-dlc/#1507615"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/04/brokensteelscreenies32104091024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/18/fallout-3-will-not-get-higher-level-cap/">Fallout 3 will not get higher level cap</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 18 Jul 2009 17:30:00 EST.
