If you've been keeping up with the upcoming content expansion for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/littlebigplanet-psp"><em>LittleBigPlanet</em> on the PSP</a>, you've already heard about its new stock car racing-inspired tracks and vehicles. However, a new <a href="http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2010/04/23/%E2%80%98turbo-pack%E2%80%99-development-diary-3-%E2%80%98construction-derby%E2%80%99/">Media Molecule dev diary</a> has revealed the DLC will not only allow players to race, but also to <em>create</em>. Oh, wait. They could already do that, couldn't they? To clarify, it will give Sackpeople a whole slew of construction-based vehicles, such as forklifts, cranes and cement mixers.<br />
<br />
Check out the <a href="http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2010/04/23/%E2%80%98turbo-pack%E2%80%99-development-diary-3-%E2%80%98construction-derby%E2%80%99/">dev diary on PlayStation.Blog</a> to see the building tools Media Molecule has built which you'll be able to build with after building them. We're not sure about you, but our minds just imploded.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/23/littlebigplanet-psp-turbo-pack-dons-its-hard-hat/">LittleBigPlanet PSP 'Turbo Pack' dons its hard hat</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 23 Apr 2010 22:00:00 EST. This should make the PSP Go's price tag a bit easier to swallow. From now until March 21, new North American PSP Go owners that add a PlayStation Network to their systems will be eligible to receive a free game from the PlayStation Store: either <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/assassins-creed-bloodlines"><em>Assassin's Creed Bloodlines</em></a> or <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/littlebigplanet-psp"><em>LittleBigPlanet PSP</em></a>. After the registration process, SCEA will e-mail a special code that enables the free download.<br />
<br />
The promotion is similar to one launched by <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/24/psp-go-upgrade-incentive-rewards-3-free-games-to-umd-owners/">Sony Europe</a> a few months ago. Unsurprisingly, early adopters are feeling left in the cold. DevilDawg90 commented on the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/02/pspgo-in-game-promotion-code-available-now/">PlayStation.Blog</a>: "This is unfair to people like me who picked up the PSPGo day one. I had to pay 40 for LBP PSP! I have been supporting Sony and this is just a slap in face."<br />
<br />
Unfortunately DevilDawg, that's generally how technology works; it gets cheaper over time. In fact, the PSP Go is approaching affordable when considering the <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/2010/02/11/go-save-40-on-the-psp-go-at-amazon-com/">$50 discount</a> Amazon.com is offering on it. At $200 with a free game, it's almost -- dare we say it? -- a <em>good</em> deal.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/19/new-psp-go-owners-to-receive-a-free-copy-of-littlebigplanet-or-a/">New PSP Go owners to receive a free copy of LittleBigPlanet or Assassin's Creed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 19 Feb 2010 18:30:00 EST. The world of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/littlebigplanet"><em>LittleBigPlanet</em></a> is scheduled to become a much more <em>loving</em> place this Thursday, when a few <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/02/littlebigplanet-this-week-in-dlc/">Valentine's Day-themed content packs arrive</a> on the PlayStation Store. The PSP iteration of the game is getting a free costume (the one on the left in the above image), as well as the "Luvre Theme Pack," which adds four costumes and 15 romantically-inclined stickers for $2.99. The PS3 version of the game will see the return of last year's Valentine's Day Mini-Pack, which adds a Cupid costume and a few new materials and stickers to the game for $2.99.<br />
<br />
Oh, Media Molecule is also making the free Chinese New Year costume pack available until February 25. Just imagine: You can finally fuse Valentine's Day and the Chinese New Year into the single, unstoppable uber-holiday they were meant to become.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/08/a-whole-mess-of-littlebigplanet-valentines-dlc-coming-this-week/">A whole mess of LittleBigPlanet Valentine's DLC coming this week</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 08 Feb 2010 16:45:00 EST. Just in time for the release of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/littlebigplanet-psp"><em>LittleBigPlanet</em></a> on PSP, <a href="http://www.bestbuy.com/site/+/9554699.p?id=1218123528252&amp;skuId=9554699">Best Buy</a> is selling a $20 accessory pack that includes an <em>LBP</em>-themed case, cleaning cloth, screen protector and a sticker sheet with various Sackboys and Sackgirls. It also includes an elusive Sackboy plushy -- albeit one with slightly deformed proportions.<br />
<br />
NAYIN wrote a <em>very exciting</em> <a href="http://reviews.bestbuy.com/3545a/NAYIN/profile.htm">review</a> for the bundle on the Best Buy website, which we've helpfully reprinted for you here:<br />
<blockquote>
<div>"WELL, I REALLY LIKE LBP BECAUSE ITS AN EXCELLENT GAME FOR THE PS3 AND I REALLY THING I AM GOING TO ENJOY IT NOW WHERE EVER I TAKE IT. SO TO KEEP THE FUN WHY NOT DEMONSTRATED WITH THIS PARTICULAR DESIGNED CASE THAT LIKE I SAID THE CAFE-BROWN COLOR IS SUPER IN FOR THIS SEASON."</div>
</blockquote>So not only will you be showing your dedication to <em>LBP</em> with this accessory pack, you'll be SUPER FASHIONABLE. Thanks, NAYIN!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/24/littlebigplanet-psp-accessory-pack-on-sale-at-best-buy/">LittleBigPlanet PSP accessory pack on sale at Best Buy</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 24 Nov 2009 18:31:00 EST. Budding <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/LittleBigPlanet-PSP/"><em>LittleBigPlanet PSP</em></a> level designers who invested in the game's <em>Creator's Edition</em> were promised exclusive DLC via a redemption code included in the package; however, technical issues have made the content unavailable, according to senior producer Mark Green. In a letter posted on the <a href="http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2009/11/20/littlebigplanet-creators-edition-update/">PlayStation UK blog</a>, Green apologized for the "technical hurdles," promising the content would release in early December with additional bonuses, as an apology for the wait.<br />
<br />
"We need to ensure that these issues are resolved properly so that you have the best possible experience with the game," Green wrote. The content is currently undergoing a "rigorous" quality assurance process and should be made available around December 7 -- unless other hurdles come up. So, just a few more weeks until <em>Creator's Edition</em> players are able to develop their exclusive (and <em>probably</em> phallic) levels.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/23/littlebigplanet-creators-edition-dlc-delayed-producer-apologiz/">LittleBigPlanet Creator's Edition DLC delayed, producer apologizes</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 23 Nov 2009 19:15:00 EST. When the PSP Go was first announced, Sony focused much of its promotion of the new digital distribution model <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/18/littlebigplanet-and-gran-turismo-in-action-on-the-psp-go/">on one upcoming title</a> for the portable platform: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/littlebigplanet-psp"><em>LittleBigPlanet</em></a>. Unfortunately, those who bought a Go with visions of downloadable Sackboys dancing in their heads are probably feeling awfully jilted at the moment. See, though the UMD version of the game <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/17/review-littlebigplanet-psp/">has been available</a> since yesterday, the customizable platformer still hasn't hopped onto the PlayStation Store.<br />
<br />
Sony <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/11/littlebigplanet-goes-portable/">acknowledged the game's non-arrival on a PlayStation.Blog post</a> earlier today. SCEA's Eric Levine later explained in an email to us that though the company planned on a simultaneous UMD/PSN release, unforeseen problems have delayed the game's downloadable iteration. However, Sony technicians "are working on solving that as we speak." We'll keep you updated as to when you Go-getters out there can join in the LittleBigFestivities.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/18/sorry-goers-littlebigplanet-psp-still-unavailable-for-psn-down/">Sorry, Goers: LittleBigPlanet PSP still unavailable for PSN download</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 18 Nov 2009 15:29:00 EST. Pre-ordering <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/littlebigplanet-psp/"><em>LittleBigPlanet</em></a> for PSP at <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=74386">GameStop</a> seems to be a good way to get a headstart on building a respectable LittleBigCloset. The retailer is offering a series of six outfits based on popular PlayStation franchises, including two each from <em>Uncharted 2, MotorStorm</em> and <em>Killzone 2.</em> The costumes will be e-mailed with online orders or handed out on cards with in-store purchases.<br />
<br />
One of the <em>Killzone </em>costumes is the <em>tank</em> revealed <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/2009/10/23/littlebigworkshop-reveals-a-handful-of-lbp-psp-costumes/">recently</a> by LittleBigWorkshop. Hopefully, it'll be accessible for non-GameStop buyers, because we'd be heartbroken if <em>every LBP </em>player didn't get to run around in a lil' tank.<br />

Though <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/littlebigplanet-psp"><em>LittleBigPlanet</em>'s</a> customizable protagonist, Sackboy, may have lost a bit of his highfalutin' texture rendering in the jump over to the PSP, he's managed to retain all of his original adorability factor. This unbridled cuteness can be seen in <a href="http://news.littlebigworkshop.com/en-us/post/2009/10/What%27s-new-in-LittleBigPlanet-%28PSP%29---Costumes.aspx">a recent LittleBigWorkshop blog post</a>, which includes a batch of images previewing a few of Mr. Sack's new garments.<br /> <br /> The most intriguing of these <em>duds</em> are referenced in a section of the post discussing "preorder incentives and upcoming DLC packs" -- a moon buggy and a tank, seen above. We imagine these are just articles of clothing and not actual vehicles (a "moon buggy belt", if you will), but if you think that makes us <em>less</em> interested in them, then you must not know us very well.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/23/littlebigworkshop-reveals-a-handful-of-lbp-psp-costumes/">LittleBigWorkshop reveals a handful of LBP PSP costumes</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 23 Oct 2009 12:15:00 EST. Sony has just released a few more screens of the upcoming PSP version of <em>LittleBigPlanet</em>. Anyone who has played the PS3 game will find a lot of familiar environments and mechanics: jetpacks and swings, for example. Pay attention, and you'll even see an adorable Sackboy <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-psp/2251263/">wearing a turban</a>. We can't wait to dress our Sackboy in this new handheld attire!<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-psp/">LittleBigPlanet (PSP)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-psp/#2055884"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/lbp_psp_0007_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-psp/#2055885"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/lbp_psp_0008_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-psp/#2055886"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/lbp_psp_0009_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-psp/#2055887"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/lbp_psp_0010_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-psp/#2251261"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/09/lbp_cologne_alpeskcharacters_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/02/a-big-batch-of-littlebigplanet-psp-screens/">A big batch of LittleBigPlanet PSP screens</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 02 Sep 2009 12:15:00 EST. Like a child with all the world's toys at his disposal but no one to play with, Sackboy drifts lonesomely across the 2D plane. At first glance, the confines of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/littlebigplanet-psp"><em>LittleBigPlanet PSP</em></a> appear to be punishment for the heaps of joy he carelessly reaped with his now missing friends -- even with complete strangers -- as they indulged in orgies of <em>pure fun</em> in the PS3 version. Had he taken these spontaneous acts of foolishness and delight for granted, Sackboy wondered.<br /><br />"The one thing we've lost is multiplayer," senior producer Mark Green explained of <em>LBP PSP</em> to <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/no-multiplayer-in-littlebigplanet-psp">Eurogamer </a>at GamesCom this week. "The system is physically capable of doing multiplayer, but perhaps not with the full physics system. On the technical side of things you lose a third of the processing power or a third of the system memory just to do multiplayer at all. With those limitations we couldn't achieve it." <em>Couldn't achieve what?</em> Joy?<br /><br />Green did clarify that the PSP game will feature "full" <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/18/littlebigplanet-psp-creation-mode-looks-just-like-ps3-version/">level creation</a> and sharing (online/ad-hoc) modes. Additionally, further tweaks to <em>LBP PSP</em> include downsizing the game field to one 2D plane (no foreground <em>and</em> background planes) and so-called improvement upon the original's floaty jump mechanic. Did we also mention there's ... <em>no multiplayer?</em><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/19/littlebigplanet-psp-loses-multiplayer-and-maybe-its-soul/">LittleBigPlanet PSP loses multiplayer, and maybe its soul</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 19 Aug 2009 14:30:00 EST. We know <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/littlebigplanet-psp/"><em>LittleBigPlanet</em> for PSP</a> plays <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/08/hands-on-littlebigplanet-psp/">a lot like</a> the PS3 version. But, how's the creation aspect? Sony Cambridge shared a new trailer at Gamescom today highlighting the creation tools of <em>LBP</em> PSP.<br /><br />For better or for worse, it looks exactly like it did on the PS3. The Pop-It tool seems to drive the familiar experience, giving players access to a variety of textures and objects. The PS3 editor certainly has been successful so far (creating <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/22/littlebigplanet-hits-one-million-user-created-levels/">over a million levels</a> so far), but those that expected a more streamlined process for the handheld version may be disappointed.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/18/littlebigplanet-psp-creation-mode-looks-just-like-ps3-version/">LittleBigPlanet PSP creation mode looks just like PS3 version</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 18 Aug 2009 22:28:00 EST. <div align="left">When was the last time you paid for new levels in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/littlebigplanet"><em>LittleBigPlanet</em></a>? There are only three answers to that question -- "never," "when I originally bought the game" or "when I bought the <em>Metal Gear Solid</em> pack." Despite almost weekly DLC packs since <em>LittleBigPlanet</em>'s October release, players continue to clamor for more levels. <br /><br />With only one level pack having been released, it's an understandable request -- after all, in the same timeframe players have amassed <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/22/littlebigplanet-hits-one-million-user-created-levels/">over one million levels</a> themselves. If a "purchased levels" section of the PSP version -- discovered at a recent Sony event by <a href="http://www.siliconera.com/2009/07/30/littlebigplanet-psp-menu-shows-purchased-levels/">Siliconera</a> -- is to be believed, we could be seeing plenty more level packs coming in the future. To the PSP version, at least. You wouldn't have a dedicated section built in without some content to fill it with, right?</div>

When <em>LittleBigPlanet PSP</em> was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/24/littlebigplanet-gets-littler-on-psp-this-fall/">first announced</a>, we instinctively guessed there would be connectivity with the PS3 game. Looks like we were right. Players that own the original game will be able to unlock bonus content through a feature Sony is calling "Cross-Talk." No details on what the bonuses will entail, but we wouldn't be surprised if owners of both are treated to some exclusive costumes.<br /><br />In addition to confirming PS3 connectivity, a leaked retail sellsheet notes that Sony will be planning a "multi-million dollar marketing push" for the game -- makes sense, when you consider the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/psp-go">PSP Go</a> is launching this year. Finally, Sony also confirmed plans for a PlayStation Network demo of the game. For the millions of PSP owners that don't have a PS3, this will undoubtedly the very first taste they get of <em>LBP</em>'s "Play, Create, Share" motto.<br /><br />[Thanks, Stephen H.!]<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-psp/">LittleBigPlanet (PSP)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-psp/#2055884"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/lbp_psp_0007_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-psp/#2055885"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/lbp_psp_0008_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-psp/#2055886"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/lbp_psp_0009_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-psp/#2055887"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/lbp_psp_0010_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-psp/#2251261"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/09/lbp_cologne_alpeskcharacters_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/29/littlebigplanet-psp-to-cross-talk-with-ps3-unlock-bonus-conte/">LittleBigPlanet PSP to 'Cross-Talk' with PS3, unlock bonus content</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 29 Jul 2009 22:00:00 EST. ... if you're counting the number of levels, that is. While the PS3 version of the game came with over 50 levels in the story mode (including the score challenges), the PSP game will only come with 30, according to a recently-released SCEA fact sheet. It makes sense that the PSP game is smaller in scope and scale; it <em>is</em> still a handheld game. Considering the PS3 game had the generous space of Blu-ray, and the PSP game must fit on a single UMD, it's no surprise the PSP game is smaller.<br /><br />So long as the PSP development scene matches even a tiny fraction of the PS3, we're sure to forget the smaller number of story levels. Who knows? Maybe PSP will get an extra <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/22/littlebigplanet-hits-one-million-user-created-levels/"><em>one million</em> levels</a> to play one day too.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-psp/">LittleBigPlanet (PSP)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-psp/#2055884"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/lbp_psp_0007_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-psp/#2055885"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/lbp_psp_0008_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-psp/#2055886"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/lbp_psp_0009_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-psp/#2055887"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/lbp_psp_0010_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-psp/#2251261"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/09/lbp_cologne_alpeskcharacters_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/29/littlebigplanet-psp-about-40-littler-than-ps3-version/">LittleBigPlanet PSP about 40% littler than PS3 version</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 29 Jul 2009 21:00:00 EST. Perhaps Sony and Media Molecule could have thought up a more clever title: <em>LittleBigPlanet: Portable Sized Platforming</em> ... or <em>Pint-sized Super Playfield</em>. Ignoring the fact that these are terrible title suggestions, we'd have to say <em>LittleBigPlanet PSP</em> works so well because it captures the simple essence of what this game is all about. This is without a doubt <em>LittleBigPlanet</em> on-the-go, nuts, bolts and stickers included.<br /><br />The colorful world of Sackboy and friends translates very well on the PSP screen. Sure, the game is missing many of the lighting and particle effects that make the PS3 game look so good, but considering PSP's limitations, this is an incredibly good fascimile of the original. Even in its early state, the framerate holds up surprisingly well. Even more surprising: it appears the game's use of physics has been largely retained.<br /><br />If the demonstration level at E3 is any indication, it appears PSP owners will be able to create levels of equal complexity as on the PS3. The level we played showcased the requisite spins, swings and grabbable sponges so integral to the <em>LBP</em> experience.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-psp/">LittleBigPlanet (PSP)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-psp/#2055884"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/lbp_psp_0007_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-psp/#2055885"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/lbp_psp_0008_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-psp/#2055886"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/lbp_psp_0009_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-psp/#2055887"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/lbp_psp_0010_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-psp/#2251261"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/09/lbp_cologne_alpeskcharacters_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/08/hands-on-littlebigplanet-psp/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Hands-on: LittleBigPlanet PSP</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/08/hands-on-littlebigplanet-psp/">Hands-on: LittleBigPlanet PSP</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 08 Jun 2009 15:00:00 EST. <span style="float: right; margin-bottom: 16px; margin-left: 4px;"><script> digg_url = 'http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/30/qore-leak-reveals-new-psp-metal-gear-jak-and-daxter-and-more/'; </script><script src="http://digg.com/tools/diggthis.js"></script></span>In a leaked interview in the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/30/rumor-psp-go-revealed-in-june-issue-of-qore/">June issue of Qore</a>, Sony's John Koller revealed new game announcements Sony is set to make at its <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/@E3">E3 2009</a> press briefing. Among the titles mentioned are (<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/01/sony-announces-new-jak-and-daxter-for-psp-and-ps2/">a previously revealed</a>) <em>Jak &amp; Daxter</em> PSP and a re-emergence of <em>Gran Turismo </em>for the handheld -- first revealed when the PSP was announced.<br /> <br /> Koller also mentions a new <em>Metal Gear Solid</em> for PSP is in the works, which may be the subject of the current Kojima Productions <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/kojima-productions">countdown nonsense</a> (seriously, stop). Also, around the 15 second mark of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/30/rumor-psp-go-revealed-in-june-issue-of-qore/">leaked Qore video</a>, footage appears that bares a striking resemblance to <em>Warhawk</em> -- but (as comments have pointed out) the ship appears apart of the <em>Jak &amp; Daxter</em> footage reel. Other clips include footage of <em>LittleBigPlanet</em> and <em>Jak &amp; Daxter</em>.<br /> <br /> Let's hope, for Sony's sake, this video doesn't encapsulate the lion's share of announcements the company was planning for June 2. Incidentally, crack out those <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/@e3-bingo-2009">bingo cards</a> and a big red marker ... you have a few things to cross off.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/30/qore-leak-reveals-new-psp-metal-gear-jak-and-daxter-and-more/">Qore leak reveals new PSP Metal Gear and more</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 30 May 2009 13:40:00 EST. We first heard <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/08/rumor-littlebigplanet-coming-to-the-psp/">rumors back in April</a> that <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/LittleBigPlanet/">LittleBigPlanet</a></em> would be cramming its creative britches into something more appropriate for the PSP; now, Sony is looking to recruit someone capable of just such a cramming, a "PSP Game Engine Lead" who would "work on the development of exciting new LittleBigPlanet projects."<br /><br />Pretty convincing, but not nearly as convincing as the game's developer brainstorming a PSP version with Eurogamer telling, "There's definitely scope for a PSP version ... We've had discussions and talks, [but] nothing concrete at the moment." Maybe once they get that PSP Game Engine Lead all signed up, those slushy talks will stiffen up into something decidedly more concrete. <br /><br /><a href="http://www.datascope.co.uk/graduates/">Source</a> - "LittleBigPlanet projects" job listing [Via <a href="http://www.pspfanboy.com/2008/10/01/job-listing-reveals-more-on-littlebigplanet-psp-rumor/">PSP Fanboy</a>]<br /><a href="http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/littlebigplanet-boss-reveals-psp-vision_6">Source</a> - LittleBigPlanet boss reveals PSP vision [GamesIndustry.biz]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/01/job-listing-healey-discuss-littlebigplanet-projects-on-psp/">Job listing, Healey discuss 'LittleBigPlanet projects' on PSP</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 01 Oct 2008 13:44:00 EST.
