PAX East 2013 live stream schedule

We're shipping up to Boston for PAX East 2013, which runs Friday, March 22 to Sunday, March 24, but you may not be so fortunate. Or maybe you just didn't snag tickets in time, or you couldn't find someone to watch your cats this weekend. Whatever the reason you can't come out to PAX East, Twitch has you covered with live streams of main stage panels, concerts and the Omegathon tournament.

Check out the PAX channel on Twitch this weekend for live streams such as Storytime with Cliff Bleszinski on Friday, Indie Studios Founded by 38 Studios Alumni on Saturday and You Game Like a Girl: Tales of Trolls and White Knights on Sunday. The full schedule is below. If Twitch shows any footage of the show floor, be on the lookout for your favorite Joystiq staff: We'll be the ones grinning maniacally and/or teetering on the edge of a claustrophobic breakdown.

Hang out with the Sportsfriends live stream tonight from Tumblr HQ

The developers of Sportsfriends, that cheerful quartet of quirky sports-esque games set to hit PSN, are showing off some sweet moves via a live stream from Tumblr central, tonight at 7:30 p.m. EST. The Sportsfriends games are J.S. Joust, Hokra, BaraBariball and Pole Riders, and if you haven't seen any of them in action yet, you're truly missing out.

The live stream will be entertaining, yes, but it serves a greater purpose: getting eyeballs on the Sportsfriends Kickstarter project, which has three days to raise $70,000. Regardless of your donation intention, the Sportsfriends stream will be more entertaining than any prime-time programming you'd otherwise be watching tonight, guaranteed.

With Japan's Nintendo Direct over and gone, it's now time for Nintendo of America to step up to the plate. We're expecting focus on the 3DS holiday lineup in this broadcast, perhaps with a peek or two at some 2013 games. Whatever happens, we'll keep you in the know while you watch the live stream right here on Joystiq.

The show kicks off at 10AM ET (7AM Pacific, 3PM British).

Watch the 3DS, Wii U Nintendo Direct for Japan live right here [update: it's over!]

There are two Nintendo Direct broadcasts going out today, one for Nintendo of America and the first beaming live from Japan. This first Direct is expected to focus on 3DS games and cover previously announced Wii U games. The last few coughed up more than a few surprises.

The broadcast begins at 7AM ET (4AM Pacific, 12PM British). The Nintendo Direct for North America is due three hours later at 10AM ET, and according to Nintendo it'll also focus on 3DS software. We'll also have that live stream for you, so don't be going anywhere.

Update: It's all been and gone now, and as suspected a lot of it was a recap. There was confirmation, though, of a Spring 2013 release window for Dragon Quest X on Wii U in Japan. Don't forget to tune in for the North American edition at 10AM ET.

JoyStream: War of the Roses with senior producer Gordon Van Dyke [watch the replay!]

War of the Roses, FatShark's multiplayer melee combat game set in the Middle Ages, launches on Steam on October 2. Today, we're sitting down with Paradox Interactive senior producer Gordon Van Dyke to talk about the famous conflict that inspired his new game and his transition from working on big-budget Battlefield games at EA to his first project at Swedish publisher Paradox Interactive.

From 10am until 11am PT (1-2pm ET), we'll be streaming some multiplayer matches with the QA team and Gordon Van Dyke. Feel free to lob some questions at us and Gordon by following Joystiq on Twitch, or you can drop your questions right into the comments section of this very post.

Championship matches for Starcraft 2, Halo: Reach, and Call of Duty: Black Ops will take place all day long on 4 different streams, so make sure you've got enough overpriced concession-stand munchies to last you a while.
