Starting tomorrow, the game will be renamed <em>Magic Orbz</em>, in preparation of a second DLC pack.<br />
<br />
For $2.99, the "Winter Theme" pack will add 24 new levels and four new Trophies to the title. It will appear on the PlayStation Store tomorrow in Europe, and on January 14th in North America.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/06/magic-ball-transforms-into-magic-orbz-with-upcoming-dlc/">Magic Ball transforms into Magic Orbz with upcoming DLC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 06 Jan 2010 15:15:00 EST. Yesterday's PSN update brought something for the casual fans, the twitch gamers and the racing club. <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/magic-ball">Magic Ball</a></em> is a PSN title that delivers some updated <em>Arkanoid</em> love, while <em>Ultimate Ghost 'N Goblins</em> and <em>GTI Club+</em> bring something for the adrenaline crowd. As per usual, many of your favorite rhythm titles also have new DLC to peruse. Oh yeah, there's also the <em>Skate 2</em> demo. The complete North American PSN update can be found after the break.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.ps3fanboy.com/">PS3 Fanboy</a> has the <a href="http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2009/01/08/european-psn-store-update-for-january-8th/">European PSN update</a> -- check it out if you live on that side of the sea.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/16/psn-thursday-gti-club-magic-ball-find-a-pulse/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>PSN Thursday: GTI Club+, Magic Ball find a Pulse</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/16/psn-thursday-gti-club-magic-ball-find-a-pulse/">PSN Thursday: GTI Club+, Magic Ball find a Pulse</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 16 Jan 2009 10:10:00 EST. Get ready to bust some <span style="text-decoration: line-through;">balls</span> stuff with balls when <span style="font-style: italic;">Magic Ball</span> releases on PSN January 15th (also known as "today") for $10. The <span style="font-style: italic;">Arkanoid</span>-style wall buster features "two visual themes" -- Pirates and Knights (we speculate a Ninja DLC pack can't be too far behind) -- with really beautiful, "completely destructible" 3D environments. Each of the levels also has "its own mini-story scenes."<br /><br /><span style="font-style: italic;">Magic Ball</span> features "a vast number" of <a href="http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/12/10/trophies-magic-ball/">Trophies</a> and in-game multiplayer chat. According to the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/01/15/magic-ball-available-tomorrow-for-ps3/">game's producer</a>, the title apparently received a difficulty upgrade during testing to avoid it feeling too casual. <span style="font-style: italic;">Magic Ball </span>should be available in North America when the <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/psn-thursday">PSN updates</a> later today (it's available <a href="http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2009/01/15/european-psn-releases-for-january-15th/">right now in Europe</a>).<br />

Today's update isn't bad. Certainly not as bad as last week's, but there's something missing. Maybe it's the lack of <span style="font-style: italic;">LittleBigPlanet</span> DLC (which is promised to start again next week), or maybe it's the lack of <span style="font-style: italic;">Street Fighter II HD</span>, <span style="font-style: italic;">Penny Arcade</span> and <span style="font-style: italic;">Lumines</span>. What we <span style="font-style: italic;">do</span> have are two demos, plenty of DLC and Creat Studio's fourth title, <span style="font-style: italic;">Magic Ball</span>. It also appears that Europe is finally able to download all the <span style="font-style: italic;">High Velocity Bowling </span>DLC that America has been hoarding for months now. Here's the full list:<br /><br /><strong>Playable Content</strong>
<ul>
    <li><em>Magic Ball</em> full game (&pound;7.99)</li>
    <li><em>Dead Space </em>demo <br /></li>
    <li><em>Skate 2</em> demo</li>
</ul>
<strong>Add-on Content<br /></strong>
<ul>
    <li><em>WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2008</em> roster update (&pound;3.19)</li>

We unearthed three PSN games from Creat Studios a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/31/creat-studios-working-on-at-least-3-psn-games/">few weeks ago</a>. But, what the heck are they? Creat Studios has finally officially unveiled them. All three games will feature Trophy support, and will be released this Winter.<br />
<ul>
    <li><em> Magic Ball</em>, is based on the classic <em>Breakout</em> arcade game, with a magical twist. Check out a video <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/06/break-out-first-gameplay-footage-of-magic-ball/">here</a>. The initial release will include over 40 levels and both local and online multiplayer support. 20 additional levels will be available at a later date.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
    <li><em>Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom</em> will be the first mahjong game available for PlayStation Network, featuring a "storybook adventure," with hand-drawn illustrations. In addition to the two gameplay modes, a level editor and level packs are also planned for post-launch release.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
    <li><em>Cuboid </em>is a 3D puzzle game where players navigate ancient ruins, maneuvering a cube through a hole-filled grid. The initial release of <em>Cuboid </em>will include 66 twisted levels to engage players, with premium packs available later to include more levels and a custom level creator.</li>

Are you one of the many that have experienced sleepless nights wondering what the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/31/creat-studios-working-on-at-least-3-psn-games/">recently discovered</a> PSN game, <span style="font-style: italic;">Magic Ball</span>, is all about? Well, brush aside the sweat off your brow. You need not worry anymore. <span style="font-style: italic;">Magic Ball</span> is ... well, it looks like <span style="font-style: italic;">Breakout</span>. With snazzier graphics. Yay?<br /><br />While PSN is known for some high-quality and innovative titles, from <span style="font-style: italic;">flOw</span> to <span style="font-style: italic;">WipEout HD</span>, it looks like this is strictly for casual players. That's not a bad thing, of course. The simple gameplay seen in <span style="font-style: italic;">Magic Ball</span> looks rather charming ... so long as it's priced right.<br /><br />Check out <a href="http://ps3.ign.com/articles/927/927364p1.html">IGN</a> for a full preview. A long time ago (think about a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/18/ps3-fanboy-interview-creat-studios/">year ago</a>), independent developer Creat Studios announced it was working on a number of PlayStation Network games. We haven't heard much from then since, but it looks like they're working on at least three different PSN games. German USK rating board <a href="http://www.usk.de/64_Pruefdatenbank.htm?id=64&amp;s=search&amp;title=&amp;publisher=Creat&amp;genre=0&amp;system=0&amp;freigabe=0&amp;s.x=0&amp;s.y=0&amp;s=search">added</a> three new games, all from Creat:<br />
<ul>
    <li>Cuboid</li>
    <li>Magic Ball</li>
    <li>Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom</li>
</ul>
Yeah, we're not jumping out of our seats on the prospects of a new Mahjong game. Regardless, it's nice to see the PSN continue to diversify its library.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.gamerbytes.com/2008/10/creat_studios_to_bring_three_t.php">GamerBytes</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/31/creat-studios-working-on-at-least-3-psn-games/">Creat Studios working on at least 3 PSN games</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 31 Oct 2008 13:15:00 EST.
