Capcom has finally released some in-game shots of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/marvel-vs-capcom-3"><em>Marvel vs Capcom 3</em></a>. The screens are missing HUD elements, but that's fine -- we just wanted to see how the game would "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/20/marvel-vs-capcom-3-fate-of-two-worlds-ps3-xbox-360-spring-2011/">blur the line between 2D and 3D graphics</a>." Frankly, we're surprised it doesn't look more like <em>Super Street Fighter IV</em>. And not a single <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZZUMjoxfZA">curleh mustache</a> in sight? <em>How will the fans react?</em><br />
<br />
Head into our gallery below to check out the new screens, which feature <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/marvel-vs-capcom-3-5-27-2010/full/#3018776">a Ryu vs Wolverine match-up</a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/marvel-vs-capcom-3-5-27-2010/full/#3018779">Iron Man shooting Morrigan <em>in the face</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/marvel-vs-capcom-3-5-27-2010/full/#3018773">a trigger-happy Chris Redfield taking on The Hulk</a>. <br />

While Kadowaki didn't elaborate on the <em>exact</em> meaning of that statement, it could suggest that the game's groundwork is almost complete, leaving plenty of time for the team to focus on character balancing before the game's expected release in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/20/marvel-vs-capcom-3-fate-of-two-worlds-ps3-xbox-360-spring-2011/">spring 2011</a>. Other, <em>completely unlikely </em>scenarios include: (1) Development is about to be handed off to British indie studio Climax Group for the finishing touches; or (2) an agreement has been reached with Sega to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/29/bayonettas-nonstop-climax-action-starts-january-5/">add Bayonetta</a> to the roster.<br />
<br />
Kadowaki also hinted that <em>MvC3</em> would soon appear at an event -- hmm, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/e3-2010">what's coming up</a>? If the core development phase, which <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/23/marvel-vs-capcom-3-in-development-since-summer-2008/">reportedly</a> began almost two years ago, is nearing completion, perhaps we could soon see a gameplay demonstration. Dare we even hope for a playable E3 demo?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/06/marvel-vs-capcom-3-nearing-development-climax/">Marvel vs. Capcom 3 nearing development 'climax'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 06 May 2010 14:25:00 EST. You might think you're pumped for <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/marvel-vs-capcom-3"><em>Marvel vs. Capcom 3</em></a>, but <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/mega-64">Mega64</a> has been pumped for a whole <em>decade</em>. Just to prove it, the group has released a <a href="http://ps3.ign.com/dor/objects/70922/marvel-vs-capcom-3/videos/mega64_prt_mvc3alternate2_5510.html">handmade trailer</a> it created way back in its high school days. Okay, so the guys didn't <em>really</em> make a <em>Marvel vs. Capcom 3</em> trailer in high school, but the one they made to <em>look</em> that way is pretty funny anyway. Also, seriously, Carmen Sandiego in a fighting game? How come no one has thought of <em>that</em> before?<br />
<br />

For those of you thinking that Capcom's recently revealed <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/marvel-vs-capcom-3">Marvel vs. Capcom 3</a></em> was born from the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/23/marvel-vs-capcom-2-defeated-hd-remix-in-sales-battle/">strong</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/05/marvel-vs-capcom-2-tops-psn-sales-for-february/">sales</a> of last year's <em>Marvel vs. Capcom 2</em> downloadable release, well, Capcom's Ryota Niitsuma has some learnin' for you. "We really started working in development in summer 2008. But all the contract and legal negotiations -- that came way before that, as well. So ... we started to produce this game before the success of <em>Marvel vs. Capcom 2</em> as a downloadable title," Niitsuma told <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/video/captivate-10-marvel-vs/64652">GameTrailers</a>, speaking through a translator during an interview at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/captivate-2010">Captivate 2010</a> (found after the break).<br />
<br />
Notably, Niitsuma's timeline contradicts <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/05/capcom-marvel-vs-capcom-3-not-part-of-deal-to-re-release-mvc/">statements made by Capcom</a> last May. At that time, Capcom's Seth Killian told us, "What we're hoping is that if people get really juiced about [the <em>MvC2</em> downloadable release], and we can show Marvel that there's a lot of heat behind this, then they'll open up the door for us to do something with '<em>3,</em>' which is something we'd love to do." Boy, the things a company representative will say to guard an early-in-production title.<br />

As you can see in the trailer above, the series is going fully polygonal for round three, with visuals that its publisher says deliver "a 'moving comic' style, blurring the boundaries between 2D and 3D graphics." Save for the fairly mundane cityscape, we'd have to agree that the characters in the video look like an evolution of what Capcom was able to deliver in <em>Street Fighter IV</em>. Also of note: The game is being built using the MT Framework engine, which powers <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/lost-planet-2"><em>Lost Planet 2</em></a>. <br />
<br />
It's coming to PS3 and Xbox 360 in spring 2011. The producer and "total" director of the game (the trailer credits actually list him as such!) is none other than Ryota Niitsuma, producer of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/25/review-tatsunoko-vs-capcom/">superb</a> versus series fighter <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/tatsunoko-vs-capcom"><em>Tatsunoko vs. Capcom</em></a>. In fact, Niitsuma <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/20/capcom-sees-bright-purely-2-5d-future-for-its-fighting-games/">expressed his enthusiasm</a> for the fighting genre to us back in January of this year. Now we know at least one of the reasons why. As for the cast of characters, the trailer (and artwork in the gallery below) give us clear looks at Ryu, Morrigan, Wolverine, Hulk, Iron Man and ... <em>Resident Evil</em>'s Chris Redfield. <br />
<br />
We've taken a long hard look at the silhouettes that appear behind the Capcom and Marvel logos are the start of the footage (and, again, in the background of the official art) and have, we think, identified some of the other characters, including Dante, Viewtiful Joe, Chun-Li, Frank West, Captain America, Dr. Doom, Deadpool and Super-Skrull. We know you can figure out the rest, <em>right?</em> There have to be some good ones, as Capcom's VP of strategic planning and bizdev, Christian Svensson, boldly claims we're in store for "the most epic fighting game ever developed."<br />
<br />
Update: A Capcom representative has provided Joystiq with a few more hints about the size of the character roster. "We're not necessarily hyping the number of characters with <em>MvC3</em>, we're hyping quality," the rep offered. "These aren't just sprites you can plug into the game. This is a full, disc-based release with gorgeous 3D models powered by the latest version of MT Framework. At this point, there are roughly 30 characters in the game, but that number will increase. You can rest assured that Niitsuma-san and his team will be working hard to include as many characters as possible before the game hits next year."<br />

<strong>Update:</strong> Capcom has officially announced both <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/marvel-vs-capcom-3">Marvel vs. Capcom 3</a></em> and <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/bionic-commando-rearmed-2">Bionic Commando: Rearmed 2</a></em>. <strong><br />
Original Story:</strong> There have been rumors swirling around about a sequel to Capcom's superhero-flavored fighter <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/marvel-vs-capcom-2">Marvel vs Capcom 2</a></em> pretty much since the game arrived 10 years ago. And given Capcom's recent success with a <em>Street Fighter</em> revival -- not to mention the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/05/marvel-vs-capcom-2-tops-psn-sales-for-february/">sales</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/23/marvel-vs-capcom-2-defeated-hd-remix-in-sales-battle/">rampage</a> of <em>MvC2</em> on XBLA and PSN -- the sequel rumor mill has once again begun turning furiously. This week's press-only Captivate event in Hawaii, held yearly by the Japanese publisher, is said to have showcased just such a sequel in <em>Marvel vs Capcom 3</em> for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, claims <a href="http://www.planetxbox360.com/article_10306/Marvel_vs_Capcom_3_is_Coming_to_Xbox_360_from_Capcom">PlanetXbox360</a>. At the same event, a sequel to <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/bionic-commando-rearmed">Bionic Commando: Rearmed</a></em> is alleged to have been announced, though no details were provided in the post.<br />
<br />
According to the report, <em>MvC3</em> will receive a retail release "later this year or early 2011" and will run in "full 1080p." Allegedly, while the full character list is unknown, some have been confirmed. "Wolverine, Spider-Man, The Hulk, Magneto, Storm, and a few others will be back; but the team behind <em>MvC3</em> have said they will be blowing fans out of the water with the sheer number of characters this game includes," alleges PlanetXbox360. The rumored sequel is said to be a nontraditional 2D fighter, which suggests that it could feature 3D elements, as seen in <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/street-fighter-iv">Street Fighter IV</a></em>. PlanetXbox360 claims we'll hear more about the title next week and that the game will be playable at E3 this June. When reached for comment, Capcom told Joystiq, "We don't comment on speculation and rumors."<br />

Major Nelson has released the usual <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2010/02/16/live-activity-for-week-of-feb-8th.aspx">breakdown of Xbox Live activity for last week</a>, February 8-15. On the retail side of things, <em>Modern Warfare 2</em> still dominates with <em>Halo 3</em> maintaining second. The <em>Aliens vs Predator</em> demo takes third place, knocking the <em>Battlefield: Bad Company 2</em> to fifth while <em>Call of Duty: World at War</em> maintains its fourth place position. So, in other words, not very exciting.<br />
<br />
The Xbox Live Arcade activity, however, is much more interesting. One look at the list and it's clear how much power the Deal of the Week can have on sales. In the next most recent activity listing (January 25 - February 1), <em>Marvel vs Capcom</em> rested in the number ten slot while <em>TMNT: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled </em>wasn't even in the top 20. Last week, thanks to both games being <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/08/xbox-live-deals-of-the-week-turtles-tiger-and-marvel-vs-capco/">heavily discounted</a>, <em>Marvel vs Capcom</em> jumped to number two while <em>Turtles in Time Re-Shelled</em> shot directly to number one. <em>Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao</em>, discounted as well, also broke back into the top twenty, landing in the thirteenth slot.<br />
<br />
Whether the turtles will keep the top spot remains to be seen. With <em>Battlefield 1943</em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/15/xbox-live-deal-of-the-week-battlefield-1943-for-10/">knocked down to $10</a> this week, we're guessing they might be headed back into the sewer.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/17/xbox-live-top-20-the-power-of-a-deal/">Xbox Live Top 20: The power of a deal</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 17 Feb 2010 17:16:00 EST. Sharp-eyed Shoryuken forum dwellers recently spotted a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/02/marvel-vs-capcom-2-fightstick-other-new-mad-catz-fighting-peri/"><em>Marvel vs Capcom 2</em> Tournament Edition FightStick</a> at a GameStop conference, and now <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mad-catz">Mad Catz</a> has officially announced the peripheral, which will be available for both PS3 and Xbox 360 this fall. The stick features <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/marvel-vs-capcom-2"><em>Marvel vs Capcom 2</em></a> artwork and, like its <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/24/mad-catz-sfiv-fightsticks-in-stock-at-capcom-store/"><em>SFIV</em> Tournament Edition</a> cousins, is fully loaded with Sanwa arcade parts. The stick will be sold exclusively at GameStop, or online at the Capcom and Mad Catz stores. A price has not been announced, but it's likely the stick will retain the $150 price of the <em>SFIV</em> sticks.<br />
<br />
We now open the comments for the inevitable Happ vs Sanwa debate. Commence.<br />

Another month over, another month of PSN sales to look at. Unsurprisingly, the biggest release of the month -- <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/marvel-vs-capcom-2"><em>Marvel vs. Capcom 2</em></a> -- took the top spot for downloads. The starchy multiplayer matches of <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/tag/fat-princess"><em>Fat Princess</em></a> took the crown as the biggest PSN exclusive of the month and will likely keep that position once <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/2009/08/19/fat-princess-ninjas-wont-be-lonesome-anymore/">new</a> <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/2009/08/18/titan-teases-fat-princess-ninjas/">classes</a> are introduced. Here's the Top 10:<br />
<ol>
    <li>Marvel vs. Capcom 2<br /></li>
    <li>Fat Princess</li>
    <li>Battlefield 1943</li>
    <li>Final Fantasy VII (PS3/PSP)</li>
    <li>Crystal Defenders<br /></li>
    <li>Mortal Kombat II</li>
    <li>Shatter</li>
    <li>Wolfenstein 3D</li>
    <li>Worms</li>
    <li>Metal Gear Solid (PS3/PSP)</li>
</ol>
We're glad to see that <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/tag/shatter"><em>Shatter</em></a> finally made it into the top downloads chart, considering it's both cheap <em>and</em> awesome. <em>Mortal Kombat II</em> keeps its relentless hold on the PSN charts, and Square Enix's first PS3 game, <a href="http://xbox.joystiq.com/tag/crystal-defenders"><em>Crystal Defenders</em></a>, makes a rather strong debut. Perhaps Square should consider bringing its <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/27/square-enix-confirms-yosumin-live-more-xbla-ports-on-the-way/">other</a> <a href="http://www.siliconera.com/2009/04/21/watch-some-square-enix-xbox-live-arcade-trailers/">downloadable</a> games to PSN?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/04/marvel-vs-capcom-2-takes-top-spot-in-psn-sales-for-august/">Marvel vs. Capcom 2 takes top spot in PSN August sales</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 04 Sep 2009 12:31:00 EST. That theme is apparently the battle of the "Mans," specifically Mans of the Iron and Mega variety. In addition to dropping tons of new screens and the montage video above, Capcom has released two strategy videos, one each for Mega Man and Iron Man.<br /><br />Granted, it's old hat for anyone that's played the game before, but, for those unfamiliar with the game, the videos offer a good idea of what's possible with different characters (particularly the Iron Man video). Check out the strategy videos after the break.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/marvel-vs-capcom-2-mega-man-vs-iron-man/">Marvel vs Capcom 2: Mega Man vs Iron Man</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/marvel-vs-capcom-2-mega-man-vs-iron-man/#2155566"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/07/ironmanvsmegaman_psd_jpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/marvel-vs-capcom-2-mega-man-vs-iron-man/#2155557"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/07/iron_man_air_kick_bmp_jpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/marvel-vs-capcom-2-mega-man-vs-iron-man/#2155558"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/07/iron_man_beam_bmp_jpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/marvel-vs-capcom-2-mega-man-vs-iron-man/#2155561"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/07/iron_man_colorful_kick_bmp_jpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/marvel-vs-capcom-2-mega-man-vs-iron-man/#2155564"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/07/iron_man_knockback_bmp_jpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/21/watch-mega-man-and-iron-man-duke-it-out-in-marvel-vs-capcom-2/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Watch Mega Man and Iron Man duke it out in Marvel vs. Capcom 2</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/21/watch-mega-man-and-iron-man-duke-it-out-in-marvel-vs-capcom-2/">Watch Mega Man and Iron Man duke it out in Marvel vs. Capcom 2</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 21 Jul 2009 02:20:00 EST. The demand for a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/17/take-this-marvel-vs-capcom-2-achievement-list-for-a-ride/">downloadable release</a> of<em> Marvel vs Capcom 2</em> is high; we don't need to tell you that. When the game was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/13/esrb-rates-marvel-vs-capcom-2-for-ps3-xbox-360/">rated by the ESRB</a>, we found ourselves as giddy as a Sentinel hunting down rogue mutants. Don't even get us started on a possible teaser site for the game: <a href="http://www.tu4ar.com/">tu4ar.com</a>.<br /><br />The domain appears to be a reference to the catchy character select <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPjjnfGKrPc">song</a> "Take You for a Ride," and further inspection of the site reveals a giant "2" (in the background of the countdown clock), which is similar in font to the <em>Marvel vs Capcom 2</em> logo. The teaser countdown appears to imply that in 6 days the site will evolve into a <em>real </em>web site, complete with <em>stuff to click</em> and <em>actual content</em>. (Presumably, this countdown could coincide with a press embargo being established at CAPTIVATE09 this week.)<br /><br />That's not all, though. There are two telling domains that are connected to the URL in question: <a href="http://dev02.capcomusa.net/" target="_blank" class="content">http://dev02.capcomusa.net/</a> and <a href="http://dev02.capcomusa.net/mvc2gmt/">http://dev02.capcomusa.net/mvc2gmt/</a>. If you click the latter link, the same teaser from tu4ar.com shows up. Oh, and a Capcom Unity <a href="http://twitter.com/Capcom_Unity/status/1576746770">tweet</a> and recent <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/snow_infernus/blog/2009/04/20/unity_auctions_signed_swag_international_goodness?num=5&amp;pg=2">auction</a> offer further evidence as to the creator of tu4ar.com.<br /><br />Still, it's important to remain skeptical. All of this evidence -- compelling as it may be -- is by no means official confirmation. We'll update just as soon as the countdown expires and Capcom announces ... well, <em>whatever</em> it's going to announce.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.thegamereviews.com/story-3049-Marvel-vs-Capcom-2-Remake-teaser-site-goes-live.html">TheGameReviews</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/21/possible-marvel-vs-capcom-2-teaser-site-countdown/">Possible Marvel vs Capcom 2 teaser site countdown</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 21 Apr 2009 14:30:00 EST. First we got games like <em>Dead Rising</em> and<em> Lost Planet </em>which launched strong new IPs. Then the announcements started to hit. An <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/okami/"><em>Okami</em></a> port for the Wii. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/dead-rising/"><em>Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop</em></a>. <em>Resident Evil 5</em> (which, judging by its recent <a href="http://xbox.joystiq.com/2008/12/05/x3f-tv-resident-evil-5-demo-impressions/">demo</a>, seems to be shaping up nicely). <em>Street Fighter 4</em>. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mega-man-9"><em>Mega Man 9</em></a>. Granted, not all of those games are making their way to the Wii, but on the whole they represent good times for gamers. Does it really get much better than that? Maybe it does.<br /><br />As if the decade-in-the-making <em>Street Fighter 4</em> wasn't enough to reinvigorate Capcom's fighting game base, the company decided to once again visit its vs. series with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/tatsunoko-vs-capcom/"><em>Tatsunoko vs. Capcom</em></a>. Just launched in Japan, the new fighter already has adventurous message boarders and bloggers scrambling for imports and Twilight hacks, while the rest of us pray nightly for the miracle of resolved licensing issues and a domestic release. In the spirit of Wii gamers in the land of the rising sun playing the gorgeous <em>Tatsunoko vs. Capcom</em>, this week Born for Wii aims to celebrate with a look back at what may be the most legendary game in the vs. series -- <em>Marvel vs. Capcom 2</em>.<br />

A <a href="http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=338689">NeoGAF</a> member who hobbies as <a href="http://www.esrb.org/ratings/search.jsp">ESRB</a> archive scavenger has stumbled upon an update for <em>Marvel vs. Capcom 2</em> that lists the game for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game, a frenetic 3-on-3 arcade bralwer from 2000 (and probably one of the main reasons you keep a Sega Dreamcast around, assuming you didn't pick up the PS2 or Xbox One version), seems like a perfect fit for Xbox Live Arcade or PS Network. We've reached out to Capcom for more information.<br /><br />[Thanks to everyone who sent this in!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/13/esrb-rates-marvel-vs-capcom-2-for-ps3-xbox-360/">ESRB rates Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for PS3, Xbox 360</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 13 Oct 2008 14:00:00 EST. Presumably, the title will be a downloadable one on the PS Store and XBLA. The ESRB has been a good source of leaks in the past, so we have no reason believe otherwise in this instance. <br /><br />With the a total of 56 playable characters in the game spanning two vast fictional universes, hopefully Capcom doesn't plan on charging us <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/06/first-proto-man-screenshots-from-mega-man-9/">$1.99 per character download</a>.<br /><br /></div>

When asked at <a href="http://www.comic-con.org/">San Diego Comic Con 08</a> if a new <em>Marvel vs. Capcom</em> game was a distinct possibility, Marvel Studios' President of Production, Kevin Feige, slyly answered, "Yes. And maybe sooner than you think."<br /><br /><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/26/costumes-of-comic-con-08-days-1-and-2/">With two days of cosplaying goodness remaining</a> at Comic Con, could Feige have been hinting at a big reveal still to come during the event? Perhaps, though considering Marvel's main panel <a href="http://www.comic-con.org/cci/cci08_prog_thu.php">took place on Thursday</a>, it's somewhat unlikely. If a new <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=Marvel%20vs.%20Capcom">Marvel vs. Capcom</a></em> title is approaching as swiftly as Feige suggests, though, we're sure to hear something more concrete from one of the two companies involved sometime soon.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/26/rumor-new-marvel-vs-capcom-game-may-be-coming-sooner-than-you/">Rumor: New Marvel vs. Capcom game may be coming 'sooner than you think'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 26 Jul 2008 12:05:00 EST.
