The saddest part of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mega64">Mega64</a>'s latest satirical jab at the gaming industry isn't the fact that <em>Modern Game Journalism: The Movie</em> will never be made into a real film, but rather just how startlingly accurate and true-to-life its depiction of review backlash is.<br />
<br />
Seriously, this may be a hilarious poke at the gaming industry for you at home, but it's the equivalent of an ultra-gritty war drama for us in the field. Once he saw this trailer, our managing editor Justin McElroy had what we can only assume was a post-traumatic episode, at which point he had to be horse-tranquilized. It, uhm, it was a bad scene.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/13/modern-game-journalism-the-movie-the-trailer/">Modern Game Journalism: The Movie: The Trailer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 13 Nov 2011 19:30:00 EST. The Mega64 boys bring <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/limbo">Limbo</a></em> to the masses in their own special way. People get scared, someone gets upset (naturally) and we get some chuckles from the abyss of awkwardness.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/07/mega64-enters-limbo-yes-its-as-awkward-as-you-imagine/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Mega64 enters Limbo ... yes, it's as awkward as you imagine</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/07/mega64-enters-limbo-yes-its-as-awkward-as-you-imagine/">Mega64 enters Limbo ... yes, it's as awkward as you imagine</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 07 Apr 2011 17:20:00 EST. The "villagers" are as incomprehensible in real life as in the game, but one "extra" still manages to steal the show.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/25/mega64-tickles-draculas-rib-with-simons-quest-parody/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Mega64 tickles Dracula's rib with Simon's Quest parody</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/25/mega64-tickles-draculas-rib-with-simons-quest-parody/">Mega64 tickles Dracula's rib with Simon's Quest parody</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 25 Sep 2010 00:00:00 EST. For $19, you'll get six new episodes of the show (the first in nearly four years), behind-the-scenes docs on each episode and a bevy of other special features.<br />
<br />
Among those special features is not, as far as we know, the episode of the Joystiq Podcast guest hosted by Mega64's Rocco Botte, an embarrassing oversight for both parties. But feel free to put the DVD in your computer, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/25/joystiq-podcast-035-mega-edition/">download the episode</a> and pretend it is so.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/29/mega64-version-3-dvd-now-available/">Mega64: Version 3 DVD now available</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 29 May 2010 01:30:00 EST. You might think you're pumped for <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/marvel-vs-capcom-3"><em>Marvel vs. Capcom 3</em></a>, but <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/mega-64">Mega64</a> has been pumped for a whole <em>decade</em>. Just to prove it, the group has released a <a href="http://ps3.ign.com/dor/objects/70922/marvel-vs-capcom-3/videos/mega64_prt_mvc3alternate2_5510.html">handmade trailer</a> it created way back in its high school days. Okay, so the guys didn't <em>really</em> make a <em>Marvel vs. Capcom 3</em> trailer in high school, but the one they made to <em>look</em> that way is pretty funny anyway. Also, seriously, Carmen Sandiego in a fighting game? How come no one has thought of <em>that</em> before?<br />

You know, one day we hope to be as rich as those cats at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mega-64">Mega 64</a>. The troupe's latest video -- an alarming look at one of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/psp-go">PSP Go</a>'s lesser-known features (courtesy of <a href="http://video.ign.com/dor/articles/855949/mega64/videos/mega64_trl_ignpspgorecut_101209.html">IGN</a>) <em> --</em> shows us just how stacked with loot these guys really are nowadays. We're not going to give the ending away, but let's just say the whole thing is a fine way to burn a neat stack of Benjamins. In the end, it's alright -- we bet they got paid a lot more than $300 for their work.<br /><br />Head past the break to check out the video. If you need us, we'll be eating some ramen and freezing to death in our apartment we can't afford to heat.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/14/video-mega-64s-300-psp-go-joke/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Video: Mega 64's $300 PSP Go joke</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/14/video-mega-64s-300-psp-go-joke/">Video: Mega 64's $300 PSP Go joke</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 14 Oct 2009 00:00:00 EST. This <a href="http://www.mega64.com/car.htm">Mega64 video</a> isn't <em>exactly</em> 360 related. However, we'll defend ourselves by saying that it is related to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/street-fighter"><em>Street Fighter</em></a> several iterations of which will soon be found on the Xbox 360. Beyond that, it's just really funny. Stupid, but funny. We'd love to say more, but that would honestly be spoiling it. So, enjoy. Oh, and if by some bizarre chance you don't get the reference, we've embedded an educational video after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/23/video-mega64s-car/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Video: Mega64's 'Car'</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/23/video-mega64s-car/">Video: Mega64's 'Car'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 23 Apr 2008 18:00:00 EST.
