Are the instructional tunes included in Ubisoft's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/rocksmith"><em>Rocksmith</em></a> proving too easy for your Malmsteem-esque digits? Don't rub it in -- instead, download and subsequently be punished by the Megadeth tracks which will be released today on PlayStation Network and tomorrow on Xbox Live. Folks with the patience and superhuman dexterity required to do so can now learn to shred through "Hangar 18", "Public Enemy No. 1", and "Symphony of Destruction."<br />

	Each song will run users 240 Microsoft Points ($2.99), while thrifty musicians can buy all three in a 640 Microsoft Point ($7.99) bundle. That'll leave you with an extra buck to spend on replacing your destroyed picks (and fingertips).</div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/14/new-megadeth-tracks-arrive-for-rocksmith/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>New Megadeth tracks arrive for Rocksmith</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/14/new-megadeth-tracks-arrive-for-rocksmith/">New Megadeth tracks arrive for Rocksmith</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 14 Dec 2011 06:00:00 EST. Worried that <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/guitar-hero-warriors-of-rock">Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock</a></em> had forgotten about one of rock and roll's primary warriors, Megadeth's Dave Mustaine? With Activision planning to launch <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/guitar-hero-warriors-of-rock">Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock</a> </em>in September, this month allows you to build up your collection of forwards-compatible DLC, or simply bolster last year's <em>Guitar Hero 5 </em>and <em>Band Hero. </em>Expect 15 DLC tracks throughout August from bands The Used, Sum 41, Weezer, Megadeth and P.O.D.<br />

As always, make your way past the jump to see the full list of songs, release dates and prices.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/02/guitar-hero-monthly-august-dlc/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Guitar Hero Monthly: August DLC</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/02/guitar-hero-monthly-august-dlc/">Guitar Hero Monthly: August DLC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 02 Aug 2010 11:17:00 EST. Hey, <em>Rock Band</em> aficionados! Are you ready to spend your hard-earned Microsoft Points, Wii Points or good old-fashioned <em>cash money</em> on tracks which you'll <em>never</em> be able to play without injuring your tender, fragile metacarpals? Brace your bones -- the Music Store is about to get <a href="http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?s=16c25cd8ba089c97ee678c7fd1056ee6&amp;p=19633507&amp;postcount=103447">a healthy dose of Megadeth</a>, in the form of the outfit's 1990 album "Rust in Peace." Or, as it's more commonly known, "The one with '<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtsD2tBPZgo">Hangar 18</a>' on it."<br />
<br />
The nine-track album will be available for $14.99 (1200<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" />, bundle not available on Wii), and can also be purchased piecemeal for $1.99 (160<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" />, 200 Wii Points) per track. In addition, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/04/play-the-whos-super-bowl-halftime-performance-in-rock-band/">the Who's "Super Bowl S-mashup" medley</a> will be made available on Sunday after the big game for $1.99 (160<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" />, 200 Wii Points).<br />
<br />
Check out all the songs included in next week's update after the jump.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/04/rock-band-weekly-megadeths-rust-in-peace-the-who-mashed-up/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Rock Band Weekly: Megadeth's 'Rust in Peace,' The Who mashed-up</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/04/rock-band-weekly-megadeths-rust-in-peace-the-who-mashed-up/">Rock Band Weekly: Megadeth's 'Rust in Peace,' The Who mashed-up</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 04 Feb 2010 21:30:00 EST. Megadeth's inclusion as <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/megadeth">DLC in </a><em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/megadeth">Rock Band</a></em> (not to mention past appearances in <em>Guitar Hero</em> games) apparently won't stifle the group from putting together something "over-the-moon" with Neversoft and Activision for the future. In a "Scorpion" feature (read: "Ask the Band") on the <a href="http://www.megadeth.com/scorpion.php">band's website</a>, a couple of fans posed the "What about a <em>Guitar Hero</em> game?" question, to which the lead singer/guitarist Dave Mustaine replied: "I have recently had two very important high-level meetings with the people from Activision and Neversoft, and we are talking about a lot of things."<br />
<br />
He only clarifies a teensy bit, saying a <em>Guitar Hero: Megadeth</em> game "is not attractive" to him and that the <em>Guitar Hero</em> developers have instead offered up a "new idea." Mustaine also laments past legal run-ins, and hopes that no one "stand[s] in the way of this happening." We've contacted Megadeth as well as Activision for more information on the subject, and will be rocking as hard as possible while we wait for a reply. Oh, and yes, we suppose we'll tell you if we hear more. <br />

We knew all about <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/24/rock-band-weekly-janes-addictions-nothings-shocking-album/">Jane's Addiction</a> hitting <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rock-band-2"><em>Rock Band 2</em></a> on the Wii this week, but we had no idea the content would show up with so many friends! Joining Jane are Brit rockers Oasis, the very famous Sting, and Dave Mustaine with his crew of metal rockers, Megadeth. If you're looking for new <em>Rock Band</em> tracks, then this is your week!<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/27/rock-band-wiikly-megadeth-janes-addiction-oasis-sting/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Rock Band Wiikly: Megadeth, Jane's Addiction, Oasis, Sting</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/27/rock-band-wiikly-megadeth-janes-addiction-oasis-sting/">Rock Band Wiikly: Megadeth, Jane's Addiction, Oasis, Sting</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 27 Apr 2009 17:15:00 EST. For all of you <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rock-band"><span style="font-style: italic;">Rock Band</span></a> enthusiasts out there, some news has traveled down the pipe courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, confirming several new albums for download in the game. We're not going to waste any time leading up to the juicy info, so catch it below:<br />
<ul>
    <li>Foo Fighters -- "The Colour and the Shape"</li>
    <li>Red Hot Chili Peppers -- "Blood Sugar Sex Magik"</li>
    <li>Jane's Addiction -- "Nothing's Shocking"</li>
    <li>Megadeth -- "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying" </li>
    <li>Stevie Ray Vaughn -- "Texas Flood"</li>
</ul>
Of course, we're still not 100% certain that the Wii version of the game <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/05/guys-rock-band-2-might-not-be-totally-gimped/">will support all of the features</a> the other console versions will. Regardless, we're very much Megadeth fans, so seeing them get their work featured in the game is great (and it's one of their best albums, at that). After the break, we've embedded our favorite track from that album, so jump past and enjoy.<br /><br /><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/28/rock-band-2-getting-full-albums-from-several-bands/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Rock Band 2 getting full albums from several bands</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/28/rock-band-2-getting-full-albums-from-several-bands/">Rock Band 2 getting full albums from several bands</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 28 Aug 2008 16:30:00 EST. I don't believe this is a video of the entire song and of course it's YouTube quality, but I can't make out a word of it. Actually, it sounds like a lot of electric guitar and screaming... but maybe that kind of music tickles your fancy. Anyway, it's Sunday and you're bored so go check out the vid already. <br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.gearheadsofwar.com/story/2006/11/5/04313/4879">Gearheads of War</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/11/05/megadeths-gears-of-war-musical/">Megadeth's Gears of War musical</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 05 Nov 2006 15:00:00 EST.
