Now that nearly every game on PSP can be downloaded via the PlayStation Store, you may want to invest in a larger Memory Stick. This 8GB Memory Stick PRO Duo is only $15 (with free shipping) at <a href="http://www.adorama.com/ILXMSP8GBP2.html?sid=126149620512078">Adorama</a>, and is quite possibly the cheapest we've ever seen a Memory Stick of this size.<br />
<br />
Remember that Memory Stick Duos are only compatible with the PSP-1000 through 3000 series, and will not fit into a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/psp-go">PSP Go</a>. If you want to expand your PSP Go's internal memory, you may want to pick up this 4GB M2 Memory Stick at <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00107AO58?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=prey0f&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B00107AO58">amazon</a> for $16.<br />

The same <em>Dynasty Warriors 6</em> that was the basis for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/dynasty-warriors-strikeforce"><em>Strikeforce</em></a>, which came out on the PSP <em>first</em> and is now being ported to the Xbox 360 and PS3. <em>This</em> PSP version of <em>DW6</em> includes elements of <em>Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires</em>. This isn't <em>totally</em> relevant to the news at hand, but it's <em>really</em> complicated and we're kind of proud of ourselves for (presumably) untangling it.<br /><br />This <em>latest Dynasty Warriors 6, Dynasty Warriors 6 Special</em>, won't <em>require</em> users to install data to the Memory Stick, but will have benefits for those who do. If you install the 260MB data, the speech in the game will be voiced. If you don't, your allies and enemies on the battlefield will communicate via text windows.<br /><br />Actually, now that we think about it, not having a thousand dudes yelling at you all the time seems a lot better. Thanks for the option, Koei!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/07/stoic-silence-on-the-battlefield-unless-you-install-dynasty-warr/">Stoic silence on the battlefield unless you install Dynasty Warriors 6 PSP data</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 07 Oct 2009 14:15:00 EST. Those who have 8GB and 16GB Memory Stick Duo cards may be experiencing issues with the handheld not recognizing that sufficient space exists when trying to download directly from the PS Store, even when you are <em>certain</em> that <em>echochrome</em> will be less than 14.1 GB. According to the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/10/21/psp-playstation-portable-v501-update/">Official PlayStation Blog</a>, Sony is aware of the problem and is working on a fix in the form of Firmware 5.01 (<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/14/ps3-firmware-2-50-is-now-available-in-north-america/">version 5.00</a>, which enabled the PSP to directly access the PS Store, was released last week). <br /><br />No word on when the update will be available. In the meantime, if you're having trouble with the storage recognition, you can still download PSP games via the PlayStation 3 or PC PS Store, like you did in the days before 5.00 (i.e. October 13 and before). <br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.pspfanboy.com/2008/10/21/firmware-5-01-fixes-your-big-memory-stick-woes/">PSP Fanboy</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/22/psp-firmware-5-01-coming-soon-to-fix-8gb-16gb-memory-stick-issu/">PSP firmware 5.01 coming soon to fix Memory Stick issues</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 22 Oct 2008 12:30:00 EST. How's that direct-connect PSP Store working out for you? What's that? You have problems downloading stuff to your 8GB or 16GB memory stick? It says there's insufficient space? But that's preposterous, there's plenty of room. That's a bug, right there. Thankfully, it hasn't gone unnoticed at Sony HQ as they're issuing a <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/10/21/psp-playstation-portable-v501-update/">new firmware revision</a> to fix the problem. From the sounds of it that's pretty much <em>all</em> version 5.01 will do when it releases "soon." Everyone thank Uncle Sony for fixing the problem so speedily. We'll be sure to notify you once the firmware update is available.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/21/firmware-5-01-fixes-your-big-memory-stick-woes/">Firmware 5.01 fixes your big memory stick woes</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 21 Oct 2008 20:20:00 EST. <div align="left">Missed the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/18/deal-4gb-memory-stick-for-20/">deal</a> on the 4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo last month? It's okay, because they are offering the same deal again: twenty clams for a Memory Stick that will store 4GB worth of whatever you want on it. Though this will be sufficient for most user's demands, you may still find yourself needing more storage. At this price, you can afford to buy more than one. As Memory Sticks continue to get larger, their prices continue to get smaller. This is a fantastic deal on an almost-insane amount of memory for your PSP. The 8GB Memory Stick can be found at buy.com for <a href="http://affiliate.buy.com/gateway.aspx?adid=17662&amp;aid=10387719&amp;pid=3159358&amp;sURL=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.buy.com%2Fprod%2Fsandisk-8gb-memory-stick-pro-duo-sandisk-8gb-memory-stick-pro-duo%2Fq%2Floc%2F101%2F205147213.html&amp;cjsku=205147213">$46</a>, shipped. Looks like the 4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo is back on sale! <a href="http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=202629242">Buy.com</a> is selling the PSP-compatible memory card for only $20 -- that's the cheapest we've ever seen it. For many, 4GB offers enough space for music, movies and games. However, we're still keeping an eye on slowly falling 8GB Memory Stick prices. If we see a good 8GB deal, we'll let you know.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/18/deal-4gb-memory-stick-for-20/">Deal: 4GB Memory Stick for $20</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 18 Aug 2008 09:26:00 EST. Holy falling prices, Batman! The 8GB Memory Stick, once placed high on a pedestal of "things we want but are way too expensive for us to get," is now available for $57 shipped on <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000UZH7P6/102-5777777-4084119?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=prey0f&amp;linkCode=xm2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creativeASIN=B000UZH7P6">amazon.com</a>. As an alternative to the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/27/carry-four-extra-memory-sticks-with-umemd/">UMEMD</a>, <a href="http://plaza.rakuten.co.jp/pspcell/diary/200807080000/">PSPGadgetZ</a> suggests you check out this other UMD-slot, slip-in memory stick holder for your PSP. Previously, the UMEMD could only be used inside the PSP-1000 models (fat ones); however, this new gadget can be used with both the fat and slim models. The only drawback is that this one can only hold two memory sticks -- half the UMEMD's capacity of four.<br /><br />It looks like you can't currently buy this thing alone either; it comes together as part of other PSP accessories. You can check them out <a href="http://www.hori.jp/items/detail.php?id=623">here</a> and <a href="http://www.visavis.jp/shop/WebObjects/vv.woa/wa/dpp/01233001700/">here</a> if you're interested. There are also more pics over at PSPGadgetZ.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/08/carry-two-extra-memory-sticks-with-new-accessory/">Carry two extra memory sticks with new accessory</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 08 Jul 2008 13:00:00 EST. For example, this 8GB Memory Stick from <a href="http://shop3.outpost.com/product/5495639">FRYS.com</a> is only $65, plus shipping. Remember when these babies used to go for over $100?<br /><br />We think the 4GB Memory Stick is plenty enough, but a whopping 8GB would allow us to store even more music, videos and games from the PLAYSTATION Store. We like the sound of that. Even Sony's official 8GB cards are getting cheaper -- we spotted one for $90 on <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000IGGCCG/002-0074804-2572876?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=prey0f&amp;linkCode=xm2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creativeASIN=B000IGGCCG">amazon.com</a>. As tempting as it may be to drag your PlayStation 3 and 50" HDTV along on your next road trip, Sony would like you to consider a slightly more convenient and decidedly less dangerous option for watching movies on the go. In a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ces-2008">CES</a> demonstration of the BD Live standard (encapsulated in the upcoming Blu-Ray Profile 2.0), supported Blu-ray discs <a href="http://blogs.pcworld.com/staffblog/archives/006194.html">were shown</a> to offer portable versions of the included movies for download to a Memory Stick or PlayStation Portable. Pop the disc into your PlayStation 3, connect a PSP and watch the smaller movie on your smaller screen (sans <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/UMD/">UMD</a>).<br /><br />If you're looking to take advantage of this feature in the foreseeable future, it might be wise to start saving up for one of those fancy <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/07/sonys-new-300-16gb-memory-stick/">16GB Memory Sticks</a>. <br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.pspfanboy.com/2008/01/07/blu-ray-disc-offers-psp-owners-portable-movies/">PSP Fanboy</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/08/blu-ray-discs-to-offer-portable-movies-for-psp/">Blu-ray discs to offer portable movies for PSP</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 08 Jan 2008 11:00:00 EST. <div align="left">The march of progress continues unabated as Sony has unveiled a <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/01/06/sony-intros-16gb-memory-stick-duo/">new 16GB Memory Stick Pro Duo</a> at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ces-2008">CES</a>. The PSP- and PS3-compatible proprietary storage solution will cost a whopping $300 when it comes out in March. That might seem a little steep, especially when similarly sized SD cards are <a href="http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3503095&amp;Sku=P33-7020&amp;SRCCODE=GOOGLEBASE&amp;CMP=OTC-GOOGLEBASE">half the price</a> and available now. Still, it could be worse -- <a href="http://www.littletechshoppe.com/ns1625/winchest.html">back in 1956</a>, you'd have to pay <strike>$10,000</strike> $50,000 (Edit: whoops. Typo) for a 5MB hard drive. So, really, this new card is a bargain!<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.pspfanboy.com/2008/01/06/16gb-of-love-the-new-300-memory-stick/">PSPFanboy</a>]<br /> </div>

Can you ever have too much? Sony says not, as it has just announced a 16GB version of its PSP/PS3-compatible Memory Stick PRO Duo. Coming this March, it will retail for $300. If you buy one, please tell us so that we can be very, very jealous of you. There isn't much else to say -- it is what it is. This is the cheapest 4GB Memory Stick we've ever seen. The SanDisk 4GB Stick is an unadvertised special that's only available at brick and mortar Circuit City stores (no online shopping, sorry!). Item #SDK SDMSG4096A50 is what you'll be looking for. MXPowar from <a href="http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=162129">CAG</a> gives some shopping advice for this rather lucrative deal: "In case, you are afraid of this being out of stock when you get there, I just tried this and it works, <a href="http://clickserve.cc-dt.com/link/tplclick?pubid=21000000000031063&amp;lid=41000000013774608&amp;redirect=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.circuitcity.com%2Fccd%2FproductDetail.do%3Foid%3D164259%26amp%3Blinkid%3Dj13774608k31063%26amp%3Baffiliateid%3Dk31063%26amp%3Bmid%3D" target="\">Buy it here</a>, then choose in-store pickup and your credit card will be refunded about ~$41. A CC representative just called me about this so it is confirmed."<br /><br />Good luck, shoppers.<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> Unfortunately, it looks like the deal is dead. Guess it was a glitch that was corrected -- maybe we publicized this deal too much?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/04/deal-of-the-day-4gb-memory-stick-for-20/">Deal of the Day: 4GB Memory Stick for $20 [Update]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 04 Dec 2007 19:30:00 EST. These bundles not only include PSP-compatible Memory Sticks (in 2GB and 4GB flavors), but include a DVD that lets you transfer <em>one</em> movie that's specifically encoded for playback on PSP. The videos come in 720x480 size, making them identical to their DVD counterparts.</p>
<p>The 2GB Memory Stick Entertainment Pack (MSX-M2GSEP3) and the 4GB Memory Stick Entertainment Pack (MSX-M4GSEP3) will be available for about $55 and $90. People will have a choice of movies on the disc, including "Click," "Ghost Rider," "RV" and "Stomp the Yard." We're not impressed.</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/27/new-memory-stick-entertainment-packs-feature-click-ghost-rider/">New Memory Stick Entertainment Packs feature Click, Ghost Rider, more</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 27 Sep 2007 17:15:00 EST.
