Sega of Europe just opened a new online Sonic the Hedgehog <a href="http://www.sonicmerchandise.com/gb/">shop</a>, allowing you to get all the backpacks, school supplies, figurines and other hedgehog-bearing material you could possibly want. Need a figure of one of the <a href="http://www.sonicmerchandise.com/gb/sonic-the-hedgehog-toys-collectables/3-sonic-motobug-badnik.html">robot bug enemies</a>, or <a href="http://www.sonicmerchandise.com/gb/sonic-the-hedgehog-toys-collectables/jet-free-rider-board.html">Jet the Hawk on a hoverboard</a>? You got it! Need <a href="http://www.sonicmerchandise.com/gb/sonic-the-hedgehog-apparel/blue-beanie.html">Sonic the Headhog</a>? No problem!<br />
<br />
Right now, the shop is only available in Europe -- and offering 15 percent off almost everything -- but Sega plans to open an American version later, for those of you stateside looking to get a <a href="http://www.sonicmerchandise.com/gb/sonic-the-hedgehog-back-to-school/sonic-ringbinder.html">ring binder</a> (for paper, not rings).<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/18/sonic-the-hedgehog-store-offers-one-stop-jet-the-hawk-memorabili/">Sonic the Hedgehog store offers one-stop Jet the Hawk memorabilia shopping</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 18 Jan 2012 16:00:00 EST. We can't buy everything in the TGS merchandise sales area -- of course, some of the merch is, like, pillowcases with naughty pictures on them, so maybe we don't want to buy everything. Regardless, it's much cheaper to just take a bunch of pictures of the stuff there and remember it that way.<br />
<br />
So that's exactly what we did, to excess. Enjoy a super-sized gallery of the convention's shopping area, and try to imagine what your house would look like with that much <em>Monster Hunter</em> swag in it.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tgs-2011-shopping/">TGS 2011 (Shopping)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tgs-2011-shopping/#4459012"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/shopping91701_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tgs-2011-shopping/#4459013"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/shopping91702_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tgs-2011-shopping/#4459014"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/shopping91703_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tgs-2011-shopping/#4459015"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/shopping91704_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tgs-2011-shopping/#4459016"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/shopping91706_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/17/tgs-2011s-shopping-area-in-too-many-pictures/">TGS 2011's shopping area, in (too many) pictures</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 17 Sep 2011 11:30:00 EST. The legendary <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/dragon-quest"><em>Dragon Quest</em></a> series (originally published in Japan in 1986, and of course in North America as <em>Dragon Warrior</em> after that) turns 25 this year, and Square Enix is giving all of its gifts away. We've already heard about <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/11/dragon-quest-1-2-and-3-collected-on-a-wii-disc/">a Wii collection</a> coming out, but as you can see above, some of the prizes are a little less practical. That's <a href="http://www.dragonquest.jp/25th/goods/09/">a pair of plushie slimes</a> on the left, and on the right is a <a href="http://www.dragonquest.jp/25th/goods/08/">Smile Slime Crystal Mascot figurine</a>, measuring about 6 centimeters tall. Both special slime items also have a <em>DQ</em> 25th anniversary logo on the back. Both of those will be 1554 yen, or about $19 US.<br />
<br />
Additionally, Square Enix is offering some special edition tote bags for the anniversary for about $26 each, and some <a href="http://www.dragonquest.jp/25th/goods/06/"><em>Dragon Quest</em> business card holders</a> (with art featuring the first three games) for around $20 US. All of the swag is supposed to be available starting late July in Japan.<br />

<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/no-more-heroes"><em>No More Heroes</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/shadows-of-the-damned"><em>Shadows of the Damned</em></a> dev <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/grasshopper-manufacture">Grasshopper Manufacture</a> is ready to weird-up your iPhone 4, provided you live in Japan (or know someone who does). It has created two cases for Apple's smartphone: "Cockroach Maiden" (left) and "Hallo, Friends" (misspelling intentional, right).<br />
<br />
If the first one seems a little, well, <em>creepy</em>, that <em>is</em> one of the studio's areas of expertise, after all -- have you seen <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/14/shadows-of-the-damned-concept-art-is-aaah-aaaaah-what/">the stuff it's come up with</a>? It would seem that releasing <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/05/albert-wesker-presents-the-resident-evil-15th-anniversary-trail/">five <em>Resident Evil</em> games</a> in one year isn't enough to celebrate the series' 15th anniversary. Capcom has also added a zombie-filled boatload of merchandise to the Japanese <a href="http://www.capcom.co.jp/bio_series/15th_goods.html"><em>Resident Evil</em> 15th anniversary site</a>.<br />
<br />
The highlight looks to be the airsoft replica of Chris Redfield's "Samurai Edge" pistol. It's scheduled to be released sometime this year and, at
<meta charset="utf-8" />

&yen;20,790 ($245), the pellet-shooter certainly isn't cheap. Head over to the 15th anniversary site for more images of the planned goods, including lots of clothing, soundtrack collections and Jill Valentine figures.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/07/capcom-planning-resident-evil-15th-anniversary-merchandise-blitz/">Capcom planning Resident Evil 15th anniversary merchandise blitz</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 07 Apr 2011 23:30:00 EST. According to a now deleted forum post on BioWare's official site, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/mass-effect-2"><em>Mass Effect 2</em></a>'s action figures have been once again delayed, this time until April. Google, however, caught the quote from a BioWare spokesperson, who said "Once we get the <em>ME2</em> Action Figure shipped we will not be working with DC Direct again ... Their handling of this issue has been extremely unprofessional and disrespectful to fans."<br />
<br />
It also appears that a proposed second set of characters from <em>Mass Effect 2</em> that were on-track for action figure treatment have been canned, as the figures have been removed from DC Direct's website. As such, the continuing battle for Planet Your Shelf will only be fought by Default Shepard, Grunt, Tali, and Thane when the figures launch on April 27.<br />
<br />

Today's batch of daily <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/">Steam weekend deals</a> is pretty radical, decimating the prices of jams like <em>The Ball</em>, <em>World of Goo</em> and <em>The Orange Box</em> -- however, you shouldn't ignore the other big sale Valve is currently hosting. Dozens of shirts, hats and other pieces of merchandise from the company's titles are currently on sale <a href="http://store.valvesoftware.com/sale.php">through The Valve Store</a>. Many pieces of apparel are temporarily marked down to just five bucks; that's some cheap holiday shopping for your more game-savvy acquaintances.<br />

If you can hold off from capitalizing on these offers, you might be interested in two new items which will soon arrive on the Valve Store's virtual shelves -- plushes modeled after <em>Left 4 Dead</em>'s gnarliest foes, the Hunter and Tank. THQ is obliging this desire with a line of Darksiders merchandise produced in collaboration with partners in the publishing and toy industries.<br />
<br />
Udon Entertainment is producing an Art of Darksiders book featuring "a comprehensive collection of concept art from the game, including original artwork from creative director and comic book legend, Joe Madureira." And <a href="http://www.sotatoys.com/news.php?id=51">SOTA Toys</a> will release a 14" doll action figure statue of War and his horse Ruin. SOTA says that this is just the first item in an eventual <em>Darksiders</em> line.<br />
<br />
Both of these items will debut at <a href="http://www.comic-con.org/cci/">Comic-Con</a>, which takes place from July 22-25. Preorders for the statue will open on SOTA's site at the same time.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/24/thq-merchandises-the-hell-out-of-darksiders/">THQ merchandises the Hell out of Darksiders</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 24 Jun 2010 20:00:00 EST. If you're looking to recreate some of the parlor games played in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/red-dead-redemption"><em>Red Dead Redemption</em></a>, Rockstar's store has been updated to include a wide variety of instruments you can use to do so with the utmost authenticity. <a href="http://rockstarwarehouse.stores.yahoo.net/index.html">Now available on the store</a> are a handful of "Collector's Packs," which include Rockstar-branded playing cards, dice, TNT-shaped candles and "Eradicator Soap," which promises to be "Tough on Blood and Manure." We certainly hope those two aren't frequently a problem for you.<br />
<br />
There are also a few new shirts from <em>Redemption </em>and, of course, copies of the game itself available on the storefront. Sadly, there's no option to purchase <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7q7v4F8r9Og">Donkey-Lady action figures</a>, but maybe we'll get those in a later batch of merchandise.<br />
<br />

Holy late money grab, Batman! It appears that in the June 2010 issue of Toyfare magazine will reveal a cadre of the <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/batman-arkham-asylum">Batman: Arkham Asylum</a></em> characters in action figure form (as pointed out by <a href="http://www.previewsworld.com/public/default.asp?t=6&amp;m=1&amp;c=23&amp;s=214&amp;sn=415933">Previews</a>). Though the issue will miss the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/16/batman-arkham-asylum-goty-edition-coming-to-na-in-may/">May release date</a> of Bats' Game of the Year edition, it'll arrive on store shelves by early June. <br />
<br />
June's issue is said to feature "a sneak peek at some of 2010's hottest video games and hottest video game toys," including the Dark Knight, among others. The listing also notes that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/dc-direct">DC Direct</a>, makers of, well, <em>lots</em> of other video game action figures, will apparently be tasked with putting little Bats and crew together. It probably doesn't hurt that the "DC" in DC Direct is of the DC Comics variety, owners of the Batman IP. All will be revealed on June 9, so get your Bat Credit Card at the ready, folks!<br />

<div style="text-align: left;">Remember when Lionhead and Microsoft decided to make the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/07/fable-2-lands-oct-21-in-us-oct-24-in-europe/">collector's edition of <em>Fable II</em></a> much, <em>much</em> less appealing by <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/01/fable-2-collectors-edition-now-cheaper-less-desirable/">removing the sweet little Hobbe figure</a>? Now is your chance to make that right, thanks to a <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/fable-3"><em>Fable III</em></a> <a href="http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/FableIIIMerchandise">merchandising survey</a> posted by Lionhead. The survey asks users to rate different categories of merchandise, based on how much said merchandise is desired. Do you want book? Coffee mugs? A nice T-shirt, perhaps?<br />
<br />
Of course, the answer is no. You don't want those things. What you <em>want</em> is collectible Hobbe figurines. Preferably with mix-and-match accessories. Also, just remember that we would <em>never</em> influence our readers for personal gain. Now go ask Lionhead for some Hobbes.</div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/25/why-not-take-this-fable-3-merchandise-survey/">Why not take this Fable 3 merchandise survey?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 25 Feb 2010 15:46:00 EST. If there's one enigma we can't wrap our heads around, it's the one involving the rather curious naming of Japanese figure manufacturer Revoltech Yamaguchi. <em>Revoltech</em>? It sounds like they should be making soggy clumps of hair -- not these rather dashing and highly positionable approximations of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/professor-layton">Professor Layton</a>. As noted by <a href="http://gundamlunatics.info/gundam-news/revoltech-professor-layton-march-release">GundamLunatics.info</a>, the quick-witted puzzle buff features 14 points of <em>articulation</em>, a jacket made of a soft material and loads of apt accessories, including a puny pen and a tiny teacup.<br />
<br />
Of course, every piece of merchandise has a price, and you'll look to spend 2,400 Yen (roughly $26) when he arrives on March 15. For more info and images, hit the source link.<br />

There's nothing quite like being placated by material things -- it's what gets us by in this cold, Capitalist world. Knowing that us North Americans are heart-hurtin' over the lack of a localized <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/final-fantasy-xiii">Final Fantasy XIII</a></em> demo, Square Enix recently announced plans to give us merchandise based on the upcoming game though a sweepstakes, as <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/12/14/square-enix-teases-something-stylish-for-ffxiii/">teased by Square's Sonia Im</a> on her Twitter account recently.<br />
<br />
Starting December 23, the <a href="http://member.square-enix.com/na/fanzone/sweepstakes/ff13/">contest website</a> will open for entries and 13 "lucky winners" will get their hands on the <em>FFXIII</em>-inspired merchandise seen in the gallery below. More specifically, four people will get their necks adorned with one of the four pendants while nine others will get an "accessory" (keychain or card holder). Sure, you might want to <em>play the game</em> instead, but isn't <em>getting stuff</em> nice?<br />

<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Rockstar/">Rockstar</a> has <a href="http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/2009/11/23/2291/new_ballad_of_gay_tony_t-shirts_at_the_rockstar_warehouse">unleashed</a> some brand new <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/grand-theft-auto-iv"><em>Grand Theft Auto IV</em></a> T-shirts, giving fans of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/the-ballad-of-gay-tony"><em>The Ballad of Gay Tony</em></a> a reason to hit the floor show off their best moves. Available for $20 each, the shirts depict the logos of two of the DLC's nightclubs, <a href="http://www.rockstargames.com/warehouse/">Hercules</a> and <a href="http://www.rockstargames.com/warehouse/">Bahama Mamas</a>. If you've been looking to make a super hip fashion statement ... well, you probably shouldn't be buying video game T-shirts. We're not just using awkward British slang -- Namco Bandai is really <a href="http://lalabitmarket.channel.or.jp/NASApp/mnas/MxMProduct?Action=prd_list_shop&amp;DISPCATEGORY=0&amp;SHOP_ID=1&amp;LoginShopID=1&amp;PageNo=0&amp;Change=yes&amp;Where=shop&amp;search_string=New+Item&amp;DispType=3&amp;Class=-1&amp;G=&amp;C=">offering</a> a series of licensed <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/tekken-6"><em>Tekken 6</em></a> underwear, perfect for the man whose underwear isn't threatening enough. The three designs, created in collaboration with an underwear shop called Luscious Tokyo, retail for <span>&yen;4,200 ($46) each.<br />
<br />
Other, somewhat more sensible <em>Tekken 6</em> merch includes a line of t-shirts (</span><span>&yen;3,150, or $34), Jin and Lass rings (</span><span>&yen;10,500, or </span><span>$115), and Devil Jin lighters (</span><span>&yen;13,650, or $149). It's no <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/23/sega-lighters-set-on-fire-what-nintendont/">Sega console lighter</a>, but it'll still light your Yankee Candles for <em>just</em> the right ambience for a King of Iron Fist tournament. </span><span><br />

Aside from hosting playable game demos and extravagant cosplayers, the Tokyo Game Show offers up something for those less-than-frugal attendees on the prowl for nerdish knickknacks. Consider doing some window shopping (also Mac compatible) in our gallery below, perhaps lamenting the fact that: <br />
<br />
A) you're not here to buy that Aloha Slime shirt.<br />
B) <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/editors/andrew-yoon">somebody</a> will actually pay $75 for the Cloud Strife Eau de Toilette.<br />

In addition to the tiny Chibiterasu paw screen cleaning straps seen here, Capcom is offering a shirt with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/okamiden"><em>Okamiden</em></a> art.<br /><br />There's also the requisite <em>pile</em> of <em>Monster Hunter</em> and <em>Sengoku Basara</em> gear, as well as <em>Resident Evil</em> (the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/15/become-a-shirt-zombie-with-this-resident-evil-the-darkside-chro/">zombie shirt</a>!)<em> </em>and<em> Lost Planet 2</em> stuff. <div align="left">Don't get us wrong, the <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/monkey-island"><em>Monkey Island</em></a> <a href="http://shop.starwars.com/catalog/product.xml?topcatID=461;product_id=1312790">shirt</a> above <em>is</em> pretty boss (apart from the unnecessary game title on the sleeve). The <a href="http://shop.starwars.com/catalog/product.xml?topcatID=461;product_id=1312798">Guybrush vs LeChuck shirt</a> is pretty nice too. Hell, even the <a href="http://shop.starwars.com/catalog/product.xml?topcatID=461;product_id=1312774"><em>Monkey Island</em> buttons</a> are decent. But there are T-shirts just waiting to be made in the <em>actual game</em>. Where is the "I beat the Sword Master" T-shirt? What about the "I found the Treasure of M&ecirc;l&eacute;e Island[TM] and all I got was this stupid T-shirt!" T-shirt?<br />
<br />
Come on, LucasArts! Get with the program.<br />
<br />
[<span style="font-weight: bold;">Update</span>: Apparently LucasArts is more on the ball than we initially gave them credit for ... you see, they did hand out "I found the Treasure of M&ecirc;l&eacute;e Island[TM] and all I got was this stupid T-shirt!" t-shirts at E3 this year though, perhaps conspiratorially, your old pals at Joystiq here didn't get one. <span style="font-style: italic;">Our</span> old pal Snorre, from Norway's <a href="http://www.dagbladet.no/"><em>Dagbladet</em></a> newspaper, sent us a pic of his tee which we've included for you after the break. Alright, LucasArts. We give up. Uncle. Just take our money and give us the E3 tee.]</div>

Looking for a last minute stocking stuffer this holiday season? Valve is offering <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Left-4-Dead/">Left 4 Dead</a></em> posters based on each of the "movies" in the popular co-op shooter. For those unfamiliar, <em>Left 4 Dead's</em> four levels are based on zombie movie plots each with a different name and setting. Posters for the in-game movies <em>Death Toll</em>, <em>Dead Air</em>, <em>Blood Harvest</em> and <em>No Mercy</em> are all available for <a href="http://store.valvesoftware.com/">$6.99 each</a> or as a <a href="http://store.valvesoftware.com/productshowcase/productshowcase_L4D-MoviePosterPack.html">set of four</a> for $14.99. Not a bad idea to dress up those walls this holiday season.<br /><br />[via <a href="http://www.thebbps.com/blog/2008/11/27/more-proof-that-valve-are-marketing-geniuses-left-4-dead-movie-posters-now-available/">BBPS</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/30/left-4-dead-movie-posters-available-from-valve/">Left 4 Dead movie posters available from Valve</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 30 Nov 2008 18:50:00 EST. <br />Because we're all massive, shameless nerds here at Fanboy Towers, we like to bang on about gaming merchandise, be it <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/11/these-game-boy-plushies-smile-back-at-you/">plushes</a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/27/phantom-hourglass-gashapon-does-not-help-our-financial-situation/">gashapon</a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/16/its-a-nice-looking-soundtrack-cd/">game soundtracks</a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/10/16/skull-kid-figurine-makes-fans-swoon/">figurines</a>, or <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/18/a-slime-inflates/">inflatable Slimes</a>. We're not feigning enthusiasm for much of this, either -- our cluttered shelves are a testament to our love for non-game gaming items. We accept that so much of it is pointless, yet we find the desire to own <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/30/an-important-phoenix-wright-plush-update/">a plush in the shape of a cartoon lawyer</a> is not one that can be resisted by most mortal men.<br /><br />Are you similarly hooked on gaming merchandise? Gird your loins, because the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mcfarlane">McFarlane Toys</a> line of <em>Halo 3</em> action figures is on its way. Still <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/02/new-halo-mcfarlane-figurine-arbiter-revealed/'">due to drop in March</a>, the snazzy-looking collectibles have already gone through packaging design, and X3F has <a href="http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2008/01/25/halo-3-mcfarlane-figures-now-fully-packaged/">collected some photos</a> of what to look out for on retail shelves.<br /><br />With war-torn backdrops, and minimalistic packaging (except for the bizarre "Cortana LIGHTS UP!" sticker), these designs were clearly made to show off the figures, and for good reason. We might just pick up a few Spartan soldiers for ourselves, to re-enact our favorite <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo-3"><em>Halo 3</em></a> multiplayer moments.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/28/halo-3-macfarlane-figures-packaged-pretty-coming-soon/">Halo 3 MacFarlane figures packaged, pretty, coming soon</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 28 Jan 2008 21:00:00 EST. <br />Spring cleaning must be a real hoot at Brett Martin's house. The Nintendo fan describes the picture above as "just a portion" of what is the most comprehensive collection of Nintendo merchandise we've ever clapped eyes on. Perhaps even more impressively, this vast pile of swag has been meticulously documented over at Martin's <a href="http://www.videogamemm.com/">site</a>, <em>where you can cherry-pick the items you'd like to buy</em>. Yep, that's right: you can actually drown your own house in Kirby plushes, should you so desire.<br /><br />The occasional <em>South Park</em>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/megaman">Mega Man</a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/square-enix">Square Enix</a> item aside, it's pretty much a Nintendo enthusiast's nirvana, so we advise you check out this <a href="http://videogamecollectors.com/gallery/Brett-Martin-Memorabilia-Collection">gallery</a> if you want to see the best of it.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.geekstir.com/nintendocollection.html?category=gaming/epic-nintendo-memorabilia-collection/">Geekstir</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/02/insane-collection-of-nintendo-memorabilia-can-be-yours/">Insane collection of Nintendo memorabilia can be yours</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 02 Jan 2008 12:45:00 EST. File this under "amazing gamer gift ideas." Sure, we haven't really touched slot car racers since we were ten, and all we can really recall is flying off the damn track every twenty seconds, but this still makes our hearts flutter. German slot car manufacturer Carrera has created a <a href="http://www.firebox.com/product/2013">high-quality <em>Mario Kart</em> slot racing set</a>, complete with star-laden track, and Mario and Wario racers in their own unique karts.<br /><br />The Mario Kart Go! set is officially licensed by Nintendo, and features about 20 feet of track (we're not slot car racers, so we don't know if that's good or bad). The set is apparently popular, because it's already sold out, with a new shipment due in this Tuesday, December 12th. <br /><br />We'd prefer to see Yoshi, Luigi, or even Bowser as Mario's slot car rival, rather than Wario, but who can complain? <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mariokart"><em>Mario Kart</em></a> and slot car racing is truly a match made in heaven.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/10/mario-kart-slot-car-racing-awesome/">Mario Kart + slot car racing = awesome</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 10 Dec 2007 04:00:00 EST. Ah, Christmas -- the holiday that seems to start earlier and earlier every year. By the time we're all old enough to start talking about how much better games were in "our day," the Christmas season will be starting around July. But this time, it's hard for us to complain about early holiday merchandise, since it's all covered with Mario! A GoNintendo reader spotted these -- as well as a sweet Christmas tree ornament -- at GameStop, and we just couldn't resist the idea of Mario stockings hung by the chimney with care.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://gonintendo.com/?p=28506">GoNintendo</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/01/a-little-mario-spirit/">A little Mario spirit</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 01 Nov 2007 13:30:00 EST. SNK Playmore is said to be planning on marketing <em>Doki Doki Majo Shinpan</em> pillow covers at this year's Tokyo Game Show. Considering the game did so well in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/02/amazon-co-jp-shoppers-are-crazy-about-witch-hunting/">preorders</a>, we can't say we're too suprised at all the tie-ins ... and we can't help but wonder if there's going to be an entire witch-hunting franchise in the future. After all, witches are insidious. They could be anywhere -- even on your pillow -- so you gotta touch 'em all. <br /><br />There are also keychains, for those who like the character art, but maybe want something a little less <em>gratuitous</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/01/doki-doki-majo-shinpan-marketing-continues-to-be-out-of-control/">Doki Doki Majo Shinpan marketing continues to be out of control</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 01 Aug 2007 16:30:00 EST. And now for something completely different. Though the corpse of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=Halo%20movie"><em>Halo</em> film project</a> once co-produced by Fox and Universal is still warm, that hasn't stopped Fox from looting the grave -- just six months after its <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/10/31/halo-movie-post-pwned-by-microsoft-and-jackson/">untimely demise</a> -- for Master Chief's lucrative MJOLNIR exoskeleton and all sorts of other tchotchkes they know we'll want. You see, they haven't decided to go back to making the movie, but they have signed a deal to become the primary licensor for <em>Halo</em> merchandise, and what timing!<br /><br />With <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/18/mcfarlane-working-on-halo-3-action-figures/">action figures</a>, and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/12/halos-todd-mcfarlane-controllers-and-wireless-headset/">branded controllers</a> arriving just in time for the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/16/halo-3-to-finish-the-fight-on-september-25th/">September 25th</a> launch, Fox is poised to capitalize on all that hype with "a broad array of products, from books to apparel to collectible merchandise." But don't expect it to stop there! Elie Dekel, exec VP of domestic licensing for Fox, "said he's confident his division can continue to sell licensed products in the next few years until a fourth <em>Halo</em> game comes out." Or maybe, if they sell enough Master Chief underwear, they'll just keep going until the movie comes out. Eventually.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2007/06/19/its-no-movie-but-fox-will-handle-halo-3-licensing/">X3F</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/19/fox-will-handle-halo-licensing-yeah-just-licensing/">Fox will handle Halo licensing (yeah, just licensing)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 19 Jun 2007 15:28:00 EST. It was a far better outcome for their fiscal year, which ended at the end of March, compared to their $3.3 million loss in FY2006. Sure, $700k isn't insanely fantastic, but it's still better than being millions in the hole. <br /><br />Looks like FY2008 should be a good year for Mad Catz. On top of starting the year off making a profit, they also just locked the Halo 3 <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/15/mad-catz-producing-halo-3-merchandise/">merchandise contract</a> with Microsoft. That's guaranteed to put a couple more doubloons in their vault come the holiday season. Mad Catz says they are well positioned despite the "console transition is still ongoing."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/06/mad-catz-profits-pounce-into-the-black/">Mad Catz profits pounce into the black</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 06 Jun 2007 23:30:00 EST. I went to <a href="http://www.animeboston.com/">Anime Boston</a> a few weekends ago, and found a PSP related toy, but delayed on writing about it. That toy is the <em>LocoRoco</em> plush charm things you see above. I'm not sure the purpose of them, as they are too big to be a cell phone charm, and too delicate to put on your keychain. They came in randomized boxes, like most Japanese trading figures do, and had nearly the entire cast available. I delayed in writing about this though, because I hoped to find a place to send our readers, so they could pick it up for themselves. Unfortunately, either I fail at the internet, or they're relatively difficult to find online. I attached the black <em>LocoRoco</em> to my bag, and it brings me joy daily. If anyone knows how to buy these online, please post a link in the comment section. I know I'd like to pick up more for myself.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/10/adorable-locoroco-trading-toys/">Adorable LocoRoco trading toys</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 10 May 2007 01:00:00 EST. Large warehouse may be more accurate, since that's where these pictures appear to have been taken. All the poor Wii merchandise and endcaps, waiting to be herded into a store so that they can be what they were meant to be. <br /><br />It's great to see what's going to populate all that empty space at Target we've been seeing. There are several shots tucked away after the jump -- pictures of endcaps and all the goodies that will fill them. Those controller gloves look pretty sweet, but dog tags? What, are they worried we might kick off while playing and someone will need to identify our bodies? <br /><br />[Thanks to everyone who tipped us on this!]<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/10/10/vast-oceans-of-wii-merchandise/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Vast oceans of Wii merchandise</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/10/10/vast-oceans-of-wii-merchandise/">Vast oceans of Wii merchandise</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 10 Oct 2006 17:30:00 EST.
