Regardless, it's much cheaper to just take a bunch of pictures of the stuff there and remember it that way.

So that's exactly what we did, to excess. Enjoy a super-sized gallery of the convention's shopping area, and try to imagine what your house would look like with that much Monster Hunter swag in it.

We've already heard about a Wii collection coming out, but as you can see above, some of the prizes are a little less practical. That's a pair of plushie slimes on the left, and on the right is a Smile Slime Crystal Mascot figurine, measuring about 6 centimeters tall. Both special slime items also have a DQ 25th anniversary logo on the back. Both of those will be 1554 yen, or about $19 US.

Additionally, Square Enix is offering some special edition tote bags for the anniversary for about $26 each, and some Dragon Quest business card holders (with art featuring the first three games) for around $20 US. All of the swag is supposed to be available starting late July in Japan.

Capcom has also added a zombie-filled boatload of merchandise to the Japanese Resident Evil 15th anniversary site.

The highlight looks to be the airsoft replica of Chris Redfield's "Samurai Edge" pistol. It's scheduled to be released sometime this year and, at ¥20,790 ($245), the pellet-shooter certainly isn't cheap. Head over to the 15th anniversary site for more images of the planned goods, including lots of clothing, soundtrack collections and Jill Valentine figures.

Google, however, caught the quote from a BioWare spokesperson, who said "Once we get the ME2 Action Figure shipped we will not be working with DC Direct again ... Their handling of this issue has been extremely unprofessional and disrespectful to fans."

It also appears that a proposed second set of characters from Mass Effect 2 that were on-track for action figure treatment have been canned, as the figures have been removed from DC Direct's website. As such, the continuing battle for Planet Your Shelf will only be fought by Default Shepard, Grunt, Tali, and Thane when the figures launch on April 27.

Sure, you might have liked Darksiders well enough, but we know what you really wanted from the game: your very own War to lead his own tiny Apocalypse into your living room. THQ is obliging this desire with a line of Darksiders merchandise produced in collaboration with partners in the publishing and toy industries.

Udon Entertainment is producing an Art of Darksiders book featuring "a comprehensive collection of concept art from the game, including original artwork from creative director and comic book legend, Joe Madureira." And SOTA Toys will release a 14" doll action figure statue of War and his horse Ruin. SOTA says that this is just the first item in an eventual Darksiders line.

Both of these items will debut at Comic-Con, which takes place from July 22-25. Preorders for the statue will open on SOTA's site at the same time.

We certainly hope those two aren't frequently a problem for you.

It appears that in the June 2010 issue of Toyfare magazine will reveal a cadre of the Batman: Arkham Asylum characters in action figure form (as pointed out by Previews). Though the issue will miss the May release date of Bats' Game of the Year edition, it'll arrive on store shelves by early June.

June's issue is said to feature "a sneak peek at some of 2010's hottest video games and hottest video game toys," including the Dark Knight, among others. The listing also notes that DC Direct, makers of, well, lots of other video game action figures, will apparently be tasked with putting little Bats and crew together. It probably doesn't hurt that the "DC" in DC Direct is of the DC Comics variety, owners of the Batman IP. All will be revealed on June 9, so get your Bat Credit Card at the ready, folks!

As noted by GundamLunatics.info, the quick-witted puzzle buff features 14 points of articulation, a jacket made of a soft material and loads of apt accessories, including a puny pen and a tiny teacup.

More specifically, four people will get their necks adorned with one of the four pendants while nine others will get an "accessory" (keychain or card holder). Sure, you might want to play the game instead, but isn't getting stuff nice?

The three designs, created in collaboration with an underwear shop called Luscious Tokyo, retail for ¥4,200 ($46) each.

Other, somewhat more sensible Tekken 6 merch includes a line of t-shirts (¥3,150, or $34), Jin and Lass rings (¥10,500, or $115), and Devil Jin lighters (¥13,650, or $149). It's no Sega console lighter, but it'll still light your Yankee Candles for just the right ambience for a King of Iron Fist tournament.

There's also the requisite pile of Monster Hunter and Sengoku Basara gear, as well as Resident Evil (the zombie shirt!) and Lost Planet 2 stuff. The real big-ticket item for us (in terms of both interest and, unfortunately, price) is the Ace Attorney jacket, featuring a Blue Badger graphic.

Don't get us wrong, the Monkey Island shirt above is pretty boss (apart from the unnecessary game title on the sleeve). The Guybrush vs LeChuck shirt is pretty nice too. Hell, even the Monkey Island buttons are decent. But there are T-shirts just waiting to be made in the actual game. Where is the "I beat the Sword Master" T-shirt? What about the "I found the Treasure of Mêlée Island[TM] and all I got was this stupid T-shirt!" T-shirt?

Come on, LucasArts! Get with the program.

[Update: Apparently LucasArts is more on the ball than we initially gave them credit for ... you see, they did hand out "I found the Treasure of Mêlée Island[TM] and all I got was this stupid T-shirt!" t-shirts at E3 this year though, perhaps conspiratorially, your old pals at Joystiq here didn't get one. Our old pal Snorre, from Norway's Dagbladet newspaper, sent us a pic of his tee which we've included for you after the break. Alright, LucasArts. We give up. Uncle. Looking for a last minute stocking stuffer this holiday season? Valve is offering Left 4 Dead posters based on each of the "movies" in the popular co-op shooter. For those unfamiliar, Left 4 Dead's four levels are based on zombie movie plots each with a different name and setting. Posters for the in-game movies Death Toll, Dead Air, Blood Harvest and No Mercy are all available for $6.99 each or as a set of four for $14.99. Not a bad idea to dress up those walls this holiday season.

We're not feigning enthusiasm for much of this, either -- our cluttered shelves are a testament to our love for non-game gaming items. We accept that so much of it is pointless, yet we find the desire to own a plush in the shape of a cartoon lawyer is not one that can be resisted by most mortal men.

Gird your loins, because the McFarlane Toys line of Halo 3 action figures is on its way. Still due to drop in March, the snazzy-looking collectibles have already gone through packaging design, and X3F has collected some photos of what to look out for on retail shelves.

With war-torn backdrops, and minimalistic packaging (except for the bizarre "Cortana LIGHTS UP!" sticker), these designs were clearly made to show off the figures, and for good reason. We might just pick up a few Spartan soldiers for ourselves, to re-enact our favorite Halo 3 multiplayer moments.

Spring cleaning must be a real hoot at Brett Martin's house. The Nintendo fan describes the picture above as "just a portion" of what is the most comprehensive collection of Nintendo merchandise we've ever clapped eyes on. Perhaps even more impressively, this vast pile of swag has been meticulously documented over at Martin's site, where you can cherry-pick the items you'd like to buy. Yep, that's right: you can actually drown your own house in Kirby plushes, should you so desire.

The occasional South Park, Mega Man and Square Enix item aside, it's pretty much a Nintendo enthusiast's nirvana, so we advise you check out this gallery if you want to see the best of it.

File this under "amazing gamer gift ideas." Sure, we haven't really touched slot car racers since we were ten, and all we can really recall is flying off the damn track every twenty seconds, but this still makes our hearts flutter. German slot car manufacturer Carrera has created a high-quality Mario Kart slot racing set, complete with star-laden track, and Mario and Wario racers in their own unique karts.

The Mario Kart Go! set is officially licensed by Nintendo, and features about 20 feet of track (we're not slot car racers, so we don't know if that's good or bad). The set is apparently popular, because it's already sold out, with a new shipment due in this Tuesday, December 12th.

We'd prefer to see Yoshi, Luigi, or even Bowser as Mario's slot car rival, rather than Wario, but who can complain? Mario Kart and slot car racing is truly a match made in heaven.

Ah, Christmas -- the holiday that seems to start earlier and earlier every year. By the time we're all old enough to start talking about how much better games were in "our day," the Christmas season will be starting around July. But this time, it's hard for us to complain about early holiday merchandise, since it's all covered with Mario! A GoNintendo reader spotted these -- as well as a sweet Christmas tree ornament -- at GameStop, and we just couldn't resist the idea of Mario stockings hung by the chimney with care.

If you've got any marrow or plasma to spare, you'd better go get it sucked out now because at midnight tonight, Square Enix opens the online merchandise store to the United States. The online store has been available to Japanese consumers for quite some time now, offering everything from Dragon Quest stationary to replica Gunblades from Final Fantasy VIII.

The US store will have a modest opening, sticking mostly to figurines. A full list and descriptions of featured items are available after the break.

Phone cards and manga were only the beginning -- soon, gamers will be able to touch witches in their beds. SNK Playmore is said to be planning on marketing Doki Doki Majo Shinpan pillow covers at this year's Tokyo Game Show. Considering the game did so well in preorders, we can't say we're too suprised at all the tie-ins ... and we can't help but wonder if there's going to be an entire witch-hunting franchise in the future. After all, witches are insidious. They could be anywhere -- even on your pillow -- so you gotta touch 'em all.

There are also keychains, for those who like the character art, but maybe want something a little less gratuitous.

And now for something completely different. Though the corpse of the Halo film project once co-produced by Fox and Universal is still warm, that hasn't stopped Fox from looting the grave -- just six months after its untimely demise -- for Master Chief's lucrative MJOLNIR exoskeleton and all sorts of other tchotchkes they know we'll want. You see, they haven't decided to go back to making the movie, but they have signed a deal to become the primary licensor for Halo merchandise, and what timing!

With action figures, and branded controllers arriving just in time for the September 25th launch, Fox is poised to capitalize on all that hype with "a broad array of products, from books to apparel to collectible merchandise." But don't expect it to stop there! Elie Dekel, exec VP of domestic licensing for Fox, "said he's confident his division can continue to sell licensed products in the next few years until a fourth Halo game comes out." Or maybe, if they sell enough Master Chief underwear, they'll just keep going until the movie comes out. Eventually.

Peripheral manufacturer Mad Catz got back to black with a $700,000 profit in fiscal year 2007. It was a far better outcome for their fiscal year, which ended at the end of March, compared to their $3.3 million loss in FY2006. Sure, $700k isn't insanely fantastic, but it's still better than being millions in the hole.

Looks like FY2008 should be a good year for Mad Catz. On top of starting the year off making a profit, they also just locked the Halo 3 merchandise contract with Microsoft. That's guaranteed to put a couple more doubloons in their vault come the holiday season. Mad Catz says they are well positioned despite the "console transition is still ongoing."

I went to Anime Boston a few weekends ago, and found a PSP related toy, but delayed on writing about it. That toy is the LocoRoco plush charm things you see above. I'm not sure the purpose of them, as they are too big to be a cell phone charm, and too delicate to put on your keychain. They came in randomized boxes, like most Japanese trading figures do, and had nearly the entire cast available. I delayed in writing about this though, because I hoped to find a place to send our readers, so they could pick it up for themselves. Unfortunately, either I fail at the internet, or they're relatively difficult to find online. I attached the black LocoRoco to my bag, and it brings me joy daily. If anyone knows how to buy these online, please post a link in the comment section. I know I'd like to pick up more for myself.

Well, vast oceans may be a tiny exaggeration. Large warehouse may be more accurate, since that's where these pictures appear to have been taken. All the poor Wii merchandise and endcaps, waiting to be herded into a store so that they can be what they were meant to be.

It's great to see what's going to populate all that empty space at Target we've been seeing. There are several shots tucked away after the jump -- pictures of endcaps and all the goodies that will fill them. Those controller gloves look pretty sweet, but dog tags? What, are they worried we might kick off while playing and someone will need to identify our bodies?
