Much like the Joystiq staff when the DJ plays <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUXoFGopZnQ">our jam</a>, prices on Konami iPhone games have <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/17/konamis-iphone-games-on-sale-for-one-dollar-each/">once more</a> gotten low, this time to mark the release of utterly bizarre platformer <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/tomena-sanner"><em>Tomena Sanner</em></a>. All Konami's games are value priced at 99 cents until January 4, 2010, when all the games will return to their usual prices. That included <em>Tomena Sanner</em>, which will run you $1.99. Konami spokesman Robert Santini warned us that future price drops aren't necessarily <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/17/konamis-iphone-games-on-sale-for-one-dollar-each/">a sure thing</a>: "This will not be something that will happen every time a new mobile title is announced," he said. "Konami just wanted to do it during the holiday season."<br />
<br />
The list of bargain games (with iTunes links) includes: <a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/dancedancerevolution-s-us/id300655935?mt=8&amp;uo=6"><em>Dance Dance Revolution S+</em></a><em>, </em><a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/dancedancerevolution-s-us/id305609386?mt=8&amp;uo=6"><em>Dance Dance Revolution S</em></a><em>, </em><a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/frogger/id286115722?mt=8&amp;uo=6"><em>Frogger</em></a><em>, </em><a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/metal-gear-solid-touch-us/id307338306?mt=8&amp;uo=6"><em>Metal Gear Solid Touch</em></a><em>, </em><a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/silent-hill-the-escape-us/id300626088?mt=8&amp;uo=6"><em>Silent Hill: The Escape</em></a><em>, </em><a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/krazy-kart-racing-us/id329373629?mt=8&amp;uo=6"><em>Krazy Kart Racing</em></a><em>, </em><a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/power-pros-touch/id322521391?mt=8&amp;uo=6"><em>Power Pros Touch</em></a><em>, </em><a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/silent-scope-us/id311888040?mt=8&amp;uo=6"><em>Silent Scope</em></a>, and <em><a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/field-prowlers-police-rush-us/id338139876?mt=8&amp;uo=6">Field Prowlers Police Rush!</a></em><br />

Now is the time to satisfy your curiosity about <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/metal-gear-solid-touch">Metal Gear Solid Touch</a></em> or <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/03/krazy-kart-racing-pyramid-head-vs-frogger/">Krazy Kart Racing</a></em>! Well, maybe you could download the demos first to satisfy your curiosity, and then buy the games if you feel there's a chance for even one dollar worth of enjoyment.<br /> <br /> The full selection of Konami games includes (iTunes links): <a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/dancedancerevolution-s-us/id300655935?mt=8&amp;uo=6"><em>Dance Dance Revolution S+</em></a><em>, </em><a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/dancedancerevolution-s-us/id305609386?mt=8&amp;uo=6"><em>Dance Dance Revolution S</em></a><em>, </em><a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/frogger/id286115722?mt=8&amp;uo=6"><em>Frogger</em></a><em>, </em><a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/metal-gear-solid-touch-us/id307338306?mt=8&amp;uo=6"><em>Metal Gear Solid Touch</em></a><em>, </em><a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/silent-hill-the-escape-us/id300626088?mt=8&amp;uo=6"><em>Silent Hill: The Escape</em></a><em>, </em><a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/krazy-kart-racing-us/id329373629?mt=8&amp;uo=6"><em>Krazy Kart Racing</em></a><em>, </em><a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/power-pros-touch/id322521391?mt=8&amp;uo=6"><em>Power Pros Touch</em></a><em>, </em><a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/silent-scope-us/id311888040?mt=8&amp;uo=6"><em>Silent Scope</em></a>, and <em><a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/field-prowlers-police-rush-us/id338139876?mt=8&amp;uo=6">Field Prowlers Police Rush!</a> </em>This deal is active in the US and Canada. From August 13 through 15, Konami is dropping the game's price to just $2.99. You can put the rest toward a custom <a href="http://news.dengeki.com/elem/000/000/147/147005/img.html">Kojima iPhone skin</a>.<br /><br />We appreciate the low-key advertising of this deal. Konami just sent over a press release, telling us what the new price would be and when it would be active. Were it up to Hideo Kojima, we'd all be deciphering runes on a countdown site right now, and everyone would be <em>crushed</em> when it turned out <em>not</em> to be <em>Metal Gear Solid 5</em>.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metal-gear-solid-touch/">Metal Gear Solid: Touch</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metal-gear-solid-touch/#1425139"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/mgs-touch-031109-012_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metal-gear-solid-touch/#1425138"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/mgs-touch-031109-015_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metal-gear-solid-touch/#1425137"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/mgs-touch-031109-011_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metal-gear-solid-touch/#1425136"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/mgs-touch-031109-010_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metal-gear-solid-touch/#1425135"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/mgs-touch-031109-008_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/11/solid-savings-on-metal-gear-solid-touch/">Solid savings on Metal Gear Solid Touch</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 11 Aug 2009 12:30:00 EST. We've been following <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/metal-gear-solid-touch"><em>Metal Gear Solid Touch</em></a> for some time now -- mostly because we like Snake a bit too much -- and following the update that unlocked access to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/22/metal-gear-solid-touch-is-complete-free-update-adds-eight-sta/">the second half of the game</a>, Konami has dumped a free demo into the App store. The demo weighs in at 84.8mb and provides you with a taste of three levels to give you an idea of what to expect from the touch-and-shoot-em-up. The full version of <em>Metal Gear Solid Touch</em> will set you back $7.99 (which roughly equals 14 cardboard boxes, based on current cardboard exchange rates).<br /><br /><strong>Metal Gear Solid Touch Lite (Free, Konami) </strong><a href="http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=312621702&amp;mt=8&amp;uo=6"><img width="61" height="15" border="0" src="http://ax.itunes.apple.com/images/badgeitunes61x15dark.gif" alt="METAL GEAR SOLID TOUCH Lite (US)" /></a><br /><br />[Via <a href="http://kotaku.com/5239491/metal-gear-solid-touch-gets-a-demo">Kotaku</a>]<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metal-gear-solid-touch/">Metal Gear Solid: Touch</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metal-gear-solid-touch/#1425139"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/mgs-touch-031109-012_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metal-gear-solid-touch/#1425138"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/mgs-touch-031109-015_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metal-gear-solid-touch/#1425137"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/mgs-touch-031109-011_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metal-gear-solid-touch/#1425136"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/mgs-touch-031109-010_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metal-gear-solid-touch/#1425135"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/mgs-touch-031109-008_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/05/metal-gear-solid-touch-demo-sneaks-into-iphone-app-store/">Metal Gear Solid Touch demo sneaks into iPhone App store</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 05 May 2009 17:45:00 EST. <div align="left">Konami and Kojima Productions have released the "complete version" of <em>Metal Gear Solid Touch </em>for iPhone / iPod Touch. The game originally <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/18/psa-metal-gear-solid-touch-snuck-out-today/">launched ahead of schedule</a> on March 18 but was basically unfinished. It only covered the events of <em>Metal Gear Solid 4 </em>up to a certain point (we won't spoil it) before abruptly ending, leaving some to question their $7.99 investment. Today's update, which is free for anyone who already owns the game, fills out the rest of the story in addition to bringing more unlockable iPhone wallpapers and numerous bug fixes.<em> <br /><br />MGS Touch </em>is a fine shooting gallery with plenty of polish; we just hope iPhone will, at some point, get a proper -- much more interactive -- <em>MGS </em>title <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/21/metal-gear-solid-mobile-sneaks-onto-verizon-phones/">like other phones have</a>.</div>

Konami has announced the "Advance Edition" of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/metal-gear-solid-touch">Metal Gear Solid Touch</a></em>, which will hit the Apple App Store later this month. The release will include the first 12 stages of the game, followed by a free (and undated) update that will add 8 additional stages. Konami also confirms the game will follow Old Snake across "the Middle East, South America, Eastern Europe, and Shadow Moses," so <em>MGS4</em> fans should anticipate revisiting the highlights of the PS3 game on the small screen -- as seen in the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/24/metal-gear-solid-touch-trailer-relives-classic-mgs4-moments/">first trailer</a>.<br /><br />Additionally, we've posted new screens in the gallery below. Go ahead -- give 'em a try. That's right ... put your greasy fingers on the screen. So long as you have an iPhone or iPod Touch, you'll be able to enjoy an abridged version of <em>Metal Gear Solid 4</em>'s story on the go. The debut trailer for <em>Metal Gear Solid Touch</em> highlights some classic moments from the tactical espionage game, and does so with a remarkable amount of visual fidelity. How much depth this touch screen shooter will provide is still unclear, but this initial look reassures us that the production values for this mobile game are top-notch.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/24/metal-gear-solid-touch-trailer-relives-classic-mgs4-moments/">Metal Gear Solid Touch trailer relives classic MGS4 moments</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 24 Feb 2009 00:00:00 EST. <div align="left">Thanks to the opening of the official <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/metal-gear-solid-touch">Metal Gear Solid Touch</a> </em><a href="http://www.touch.konami.jp/mgst/us/pc/index.html#">website</a> we now have a much clearer idea of what to expect from the game when it launches this spring. The game will follow the story of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/metal-gear-solid-4"><em>Metal Gear Solid 4</em></a> but will play more like a light-gun game. Controls involve flicking a finger across the screen to move Snake and pinching to zoom in for trickier shots. <br /><br />Rewarded at the end of each phase, Drebin points will allow you to unlock new <em>Metal Gear Solid</em> inspired iPhone wallpapers. Kojima Productions will seemingly be getting the game out a bit quicker by splitting it in two; a version with twelve stages will released in the spring, with an update coming later that will add the remaining eight stages at no extra cost. For those who've already bought it, at least. <br /><br />Check out the <a href="http://www.touch.konami.jp/mgst/us/pc/index.html#">official website</a> for an illustrated look at how the game will play.</div>

Both <a href="http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3171942">1UP</a> and <a href="http://wireless.ign.com/articles/939/939106p1.html">IGN</a> have poked and prodded new details out of Japanese mag <em>Famitsu</em>'s recent <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/17/rumor-a-next-metal-gear-is-for-iphone/"><em>Metal Gear Solid Touch</em> reveal</a>, lifting the touchable curtains somewhat off Konami's upcoming head scratcher. According to the article, the game will be based on <em>MGS4</em>, with <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/metal-gear">Metal Gear</a></em> mastermind <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Hideo-Kojima/">Kojima</a> describing the iPhone app as a "Simple MGS." Translation: It's a shooter.<br /><br />In fact, <em>Metal Gear</em>'s emphasis on stealth is being pocketed this time around in favor of something that is easier to pick up and play on the go, with much of the gameplay involving sliding and pinching the screen in typical iPhone fashion to move Snake's view and zoom in and out of targets. Additionally, shooting bad guys and exploding barrels is taken care of by tapping directly on the screen. We remain interested, albeit confused, about Snake's latest mission. But the weathered soldier isn't getting any younger, and with all of these fingers in the way, we wonder if he'll be able to see anything at all.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3171942">Read</a> - Kojima Goes In-Depth on Metal Gear Solid Touch<br /><a href="http://wireless.ign.com/articles/939/939106p1.html">Read</a> - Metal Gear Solid Touch Detailed<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/18/kojima-calls-metal-gear-solid-touch-a-simple-mgs-shooter/">Kojima calls Metal Gear Solid Touch a 'simple MGS' shooter</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 18 Dec 2008 14:14:00 EST. <div align="left">Sorry PS3 fans, "a next <em>Metal Gear </em>is" not coming to your favorite black behemoth of a console. In fact, it's not going to any console (sorry Xbox fans, maybe one day). Konami has announced today that <em>Metal Gear Solid</em> is going to the iPhone in the form of <em>Metal Gear Solid Touch </em>next Spring<em>.</em> <br /><br />This won't be a new story, though. It's essentially a very watered down port of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/metal-gear-solid-4"><em>MGS4</em></a>, as "each stage's location and characters are based on the story of <em>MGS4</em>." In case you're interested, <em>Silent Hill</em> and <em>Dance Dance Revolution</em> are also <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/17/four-konami-games-coming-to-iphone-including-metal-gear-silent/">making the transition</a> to iPhone. So there you have it, you can stop fretting over Kojima's cryptic message and enjoy Christmas.</div>

And <em>Dance Dance Revolution</em>, if you can believe it. Konami has announced the impending arrival of <a href="http://www.touch.konami.net/jp/pc/game.html">four downloadable iPhone games</a>, with all but one scheduled to arrive "from late December." The genres covered are "Music," "Action," "3D Shooting" and the slightly provocative "Touch Shooting." As for the corresponding titles:<br />
<ul>
    <li><a href="http://www.konami.jp/products/touch_ddrs/index.html"><strong>Dance Dance Revolution S Lite</strong></a>, "a music game where you tap the arrow icons that appear at the bottom of the screen in time with music."</li>
    <li><a href="http://www.konami.jp/products/touch_sh/index.html"><strong>Silent Hill: The Escape</strong></a>, "a first-person 3D shooting game that lets players utilize the control features only found on the iPhone and iPod touch ..."</li>
    <li><a href="http://www.konami.jp/products/touch_frogger/index.html"><strong>Frogger</strong></a>, "a simple game" which probably doesn't require any further explanation.</li>
    <li><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/17/rumor-a-next-metal-gear-is-for-iphone/"><strong>Metal Gear Solid Touch</strong></a>, "an original game that brings to life the world and characters" of MGS4. Eight "touch shooting" levels will be available in the initial release, with more to follow.<br /></li>
</ul>
<em>MGST</em> is currently slated for a Spring 2009 release. All the games are coming to North America, Japan and Europe, with the exception of <em>Dance Dance Revolution</em>, which is apparently too hip for the electronic rectangles in Europe.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/17/four-konami-games-coming-to-iphone-including-metal-gear-silent/">Four Konami games coming to iPhone, including Metal Gear, Silent Hill</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 17 Dec 2008 04:15:00 EST. At least let us tell you where this information comes from. According to <a href="http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3171917">1UP</a> and 1 of its tipsters, the latest issue of Japanese mag <em>Famitsu</em> shows what lies beyond the cryptic ellipsis appended to Kojima Productions' <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/05/rumor-kojima-productions-teases-a-next-metal-gear/">teaser website</a>, which we last discussed on December 5th. Judging by a somewhat scrutable scan, the game appears to be an iPhone project dubbed "Metal Gear Solid Touch." [<strong>Update:</strong> Konami has confirmed <a href="http://www.touch.konami.net/mgst/pc/">the title</a>.]<br /></div>
<br />Little else is known about the touch-screen title, but we imagine many a soldier's neck will be snapped via some precision pinching. <br /><br />[Thanks to everyone who sent this in!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/17/rumor-a-next-metal-gear-is-for-iphone/">A Next Metal Gear is ...
