Though <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/epic-mickey">Epic Mickey</a> </em>is pretty obviously rife with Disney lore, there are likely some easter eggs you missed. Maybe the game's camera refused to point at them (sorry, couldn't help ourselves) or maybe you just aren't versed enough in Disneyology to spot them all.<br />
<br />
Fear not, as <a href="http://www.toplessrobot.com/2011/01/10_epic_disney_easter_eggs_in_epic_mickey.php?page=1">Topless Robot</a> has a list of 10 of the biggest you may not have picked up on. Our favorite? The secret basketball court inside the Matterhorn, which you'll find recreated in Mickeyjunk Mountain. If you still haven't gotten your fill of secret Disney nods, you can find even more at <a href="http://www.gamesradar.com/wii/f/50-disney-references-in-epic-mickey/a-2010120911369605019/g-2009102811119630063">GamesRadar</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/17/more-disney-epic-mickey-easter-eggs-than-you-can-handle/">More Disney Epic Mickey easter eggs than you can handle</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 17 Jan 2011 20:20:00 EST. I've actually been lucky enough to see <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/disney-epic-mickey"><em>Epic Mickey</em></a> twice now, once at a pre-E3 event a few weeks ago and then again this week at E3. And while my first reaction to the game was twinged with disappointment (which I'll explain in just a minute), after seeing it a second time, and talking with Warren Spector himself, I think the game will turn out to be something really special.<br />
<br />
What changed in between then and now? Honestly, I don't think they're showing the right demo. The <em>Epic Mickey</em> you can see on the floor of E3 this week shows a middling-to-above-average platformer, with few simple stages and a paint/thinner mechanic that allows you to draw and erase various walls and platforms. But I am convinced anyway (perhaps wrongly, I'll admit) that there's a lot more to this game than that.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/disney-epic-mickey-e3-2010/">Disney Epic Mickey (E3 2010)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/disney-epic-mickey-e3-2010/#3084559"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/06/disneyepicmickey13_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/disney-epic-mickey-e3-2010/#3084572"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/06/disneyepicmickey12_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/disney-epic-mickey-e3-2010/#3084577"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/06/disneyepicmickey11_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/disney-epic-mickey-e3-2010/#3084578"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/06/disneyepicmickey10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/disney-epic-mickey-e3-2010/#3084579"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/06/disneyepicmickey09_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/16/preview-disney-epic-mickey/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Preview: Disney Epic Mickey</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/16/preview-disney-epic-mickey/">Preview: Disney Epic Mickey</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 16 Jun 2010 15:00:00 EST. <div align="left"><br />From the looks of things, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/warren-spector">Warren Spector</a> and his Junction Point Studios aren't doing a Mickey Mouse job of their, well ... <em>Mickey Mouse job</em>. Disney Interactive has opened the floodgates today, releasing a torrent of screenshots and artwork from the now-properly-announced <em>Disney Epic Mickey</em>, the Wii-exclusive platformer that sees the iconic rodent <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/06/forgotten-disney-characters-are-epic-mickey-antagonists/">painting his way</a> through a twisted Magic Kingdom.<br /><br />According to Disney, the idea behind the game didn't originate with Spector -- rather, an internal group at DIS, called the Think Tank, um, <em>thought up</em> the idea of Mickey in "turmoil." Working with that initial pitch, Spector created the <em>Epic Mickey</em> game. The concept is certainly intriguing, but we'll have to wait until the game launches in fall 2010 to draw our final conclusion.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/disney-epic-mickey/">Disney Epic Mickey</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/disney-epic-mickey/#2402107"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/10/island4_wip3_edited-10282009-20_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/disney-epic-mickey/#2402106"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/10/gvd_buildingcardd1-10282009-18_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/disney-epic-mickey/#2402105"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/10/gremlinvillagepiant-10282009-17_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/disney-epic-mickey/#2402103"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/10/screen3-10282009-5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/disney-epic-mickey/#2402102"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/10/screen1-10282009-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /></div>

Well, the latest rumor that will be on the minds of all Nintendo-faithful is Disney's supposed intention to take on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/12/the-ds-life-betrayal/">Nintendo's platforming plumber</a> with their strongest mascot, Mickey.<br /><br />Most of us probably played Mickey's <em>Illusion</em> games back on Sega's systems, so we recall that Mickey<em> can</em> be in a good game (some of you probably count those <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=kingdom+hearts"><em>Kingdom Hearts</em></a> games, as well?). But, does he have what it takes to compete with Mario? Perhaps, with Warren Spector supposedly heading up the project. <br /><br />It seems silly that anyone would try to compete with Mario, but hey, that's just us. What do you all think?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/25/rumor-disney-looking-to-take-on-mario/">Rumor: Disney looking to take on Mario?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 25 Mar 2008 12:00:00 EST.
