Diamond Select wasn't at liberty to share the names of the characters but suggested that the figure with the hood was a type of priest.<br /> <br /> The Art Asylum-designed figures excellent details, right down to Captain Conrad's chiseled eyebrows and five o'clock shadow. Each figure comes with accessories. The basic Lara Croft has a more generic hatchet, while the battle damaged, mud soaked Lara Croft has the stylized hatchet we've seen from <em>Tomb Raider</em> concept art. The Molotov cocktail scavenger comes with just that - a Molotov cocktail. The second scavenger had a shield and an iron mask. The designs are still pending licensor approval.</div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/11/tomb-raider-minimates-debut-at-toy-fair/">Tomb Raider Minimates debut at Toy Fair</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 11 Feb 2013 18:00:00 EST. Wave two, said to release sometime in February, pits Chun-Li vs. Hwoarang, Abel vs. Kazuya, Ryu vs. Yoshimitsu and Rufus vs. Julia, all of whom can be seen <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/25/street-fighter-x-tekken-minimates-coming-this-fall/#continued">after the break</a>. In honor of <a href="http://halo-combat-evolved-anniversary"><em>Halo Anniversary</em></a>, Master Chief and friends are being remastered again, this time as a new series of Minimates toys. The new "Series 4" includes Cortana, Master Chief, Jacob Keys, and the Prophet of Truth. The Master Chief toy even comes with an even mini-er Cortana!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/21/halo-anniversary-inspires-new-set-of-minimates-toys/">Halo Anniversary inspires new set of Minimates toys</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 21 Sep 2011 23:00:00 EST. <br />

After being announced (and then unannounced) earlier this year, it looks like the curtain has been officially raised, as <a href="http://www.artasylum.com/blog/2011/06/marvel-vs-capcom-3-making-minimates-for-two-worlds/">Art Asylum</a> has posted a new interview on the upcoming lineup of figures. The article includes plenty of details on the figures and, more importantly, lots of new pictures. We're particularly fond of M. Bison.<br />
<br />
The one we're really waiting to see is M.O.D.O.K., who was apparently pretty hard to fit into the traditional Minimates mold. Unfortunately, he's not coming out until wave 3. Wave 1 arrives this <a href="http://www.artasylum.com/blog/2011/06/4074/">October</a>. Head over to Art Asylum for more images and info.<br />
<br />
<strong>Update:</strong> As a few commenters pointed out, Bison is actually from a <em>Street Fighter 2</em> line of Minimates (especially considering he's not <em>in Marvel vs. Capcom 3</em>.) The new line will feature an updated Chun-li figure, however.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/24/marvel-vs-capcom-3-minimates-articulated-with-new-images/">Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Minimates articulated with new images</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 24 Jun 2011 01:15:00 EST. Potentially good news for fans of tiny versions of things they like: A new line of Minimates figures based on <em>Marvel vs. Capcom 3</em> was revealed by <a href="http://www.minimateheadquarters.com/?p=1346">Minimates HQ</a> earlier today. The site has since pulled the announcement at the request of Diamond Select Toys, though not before the news and images (like the ones above) were <a href="http://www.google.com/search?q=Marvel+vs.+Capcom+3+Minimates">firmly planted on the internet</a>.<br />
<br />
Figures appear to run the gamut from Arthur to X-23. Even as their creators have apparently backtracked on the official announcement, the <em>MvC3</em> Minimates appear to be legit (they even showed up on Capcom Unity, <a href="http://www.google.com/search?q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.capcom-unity.com%2Fjgonzo%2Fblog%2F2011%2F02%2F14%2Fmarvel_vs._capcom_3_minimates_announced">briefly</a>) -- and they're definitely marketable. Seriously, we've wanted a pocket-sized Arthur since, like, 1989.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/14/marvel-vs-capcom-3-minimates/">Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of tiny action figures</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 14 Feb 2011 19:00:00 EST.
