If March 16 is too far away and you need to partake in some motorcycle madness right now well, you're still out of luck. Capcom informs us that a demo for MotoGP 09/10 will be available for you to download on Xbox Live and PSN this Thursday, if you can manage to wait that long. You'll be able to race in one of three modes: Championship, Time Trial and Arcade. The first two are kinda self-explanatory, while the third mode is new to the series and incorporates the quarter-munching arcade racer model of olde, as you'll need to perform stunt tricks in order to extend your time and keep yourself in the race.

The game, developed by new team Monumental Games, brings with it a career mode with management features, an arcade mode, online racing and a spectator mode. Better still, Capcom has already promised to release free DLC for the title shortly after release. The DLC is set to feature "all the 2010 season content, including all new tracks, team updates, and new bike classes." A demo for the title is also planned shortly before release

Furthermore, Capcom has announced that the online mode will accommodate 20 players, which it claims is a first for console racing games. Check out a new trailer for the game above.

At this week's Silverstone event, Capcom revealed that two free DLC packages will be released for the motocross title "shortly" after the game's release.

Before the MotoGP 09/10 turns the final corner onto store shelves, Capcom will release an Xbox 360 and PS3 demo "about a month" prior to the game's launch. The demo is slated to feature the world-famous Mugello, Italy, track as well as all three bike classes and will probably make any race fanatic's wheels spin with joy. Whether you're looking forward to its upcoming March release or not, one thing is certain: The racing references in this post need to end, immediately.

Vroom. Okay, now.

Capcom's recently acquired motorcycling sim series is set to hit the track again in March 2010 with MotoGP 09/10 for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Capcom has put a new team on the franchise in Monumental Games, but before you start running around and slashing tires in disgust, know that some of the members of that studio are actually MotoGP veterans. Put the knife down!

The next installment in the series brings all of the bikes, riders, and tracks from the 2009 championship series, including a full-fledged career mode that will give players the control to handle not only the racing, but also managerial tasks. But, even more interesting is Capcom's promise to "update the game with accurate real-time content from the 2010 championship at no extra cost." Rounding out the rest of the game will be an Arcade mode, and online racing, supporting leaderboards and a spectator mode.

Here, Australia and New Zealand, take a few long, hard breaths into this paper bag, because everything's going to be okay. Capcom has moved to quash fears that the collapse of Red Ant, Capcom's distributor down under, would delay Capcom releases in the region.

The good folks from Capcom PR just mailed us to say that Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop wouldn't be moved from its original Aussie and Kiwi release date of February 27, and that future Wii titles such as MotoGP and Neopets Puzzle Adventure would still be released "in line" with other PAL territories.

Capcom is set to release two high-profile Wii titles during Q1 of next year: MotoGP and Dead Rising: Chop 'Til You Drop. Even though the latter has caught some flack for its failure to populate each and every screen with countless zombies, it's still a pretty important title for Capcom.

So, when should we expect these? Well, for those of us in North America, Dead Rising releases on February 27th, with MotoGP dropping sometime in March. In Europe, Dead Rising will be available on February 27th, and MotoGP will release sometime in mid-March.

Word on the internet street is that our corporate pals over at Capcom have gobbled up the rights to the MotoGP franchise for the next five years. This new franchise agreement will have Capcom releasing a new MotoGP game based on the 2008 season that should makes its way across all consoles (even cell phones) including the Xbox 360. We believe this to be pretty dandy good news for MotoGP fans as we'll see a re-vitalization of sorts, but we have to fear that Capcom may alter whatever recipe MotoGP has followed in years previous. Oh, and the fact that they already have plans to whore the franchise out across every single platform known to man worries us just a touch.

With some 15 different titles in the works, we'd assumed that the forces of Capcom had enough on their hands to not go looking for other things to keep them busy. That's what we get for assuming, as the company has announced that it's secured the exclusive rights to publish games and peripherals based on the MotoGP license.

The winds of change began to blow last year, as Capcom sewed up Sony platform rights to the motorcycle sport in 2007. However, this new deal does everything but say 'yoink!' to longtime series publisher THQ, pulling rights to all things MotoGP beneath the Capcom umbrella for the next five years, with this year's annual update already planned for release on the Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, Wii, PC, and mobile phones.

Now all that remains to be seen is who will handle development -- franchise vet Climax Group or series newcomers Milestone, who helmed last year's PS2 version for Capcom. There's really only one way to settle this...Thunderdome!

You know what's hot right now? Giant robots. Seriously, the kids can't seem to get enough of them. First you got that Transformers movie that came out earlier this month, and now you've got a demo for Dynasty Warriors: Gundam. ... And that's it. That's not really a lot, is it? Well, upon further reflection, it appears that not only is giant robot fever on the way out, but we're going to have to find some way to unload 100,000 "I Love Giant Robots" T-shirts. Great.

If you need a palate cleanser, there's also a MotoGP'07 demo on Live. It's perfect for when you want to practice speeding away from creditors coming to repossess your 100,000 "I Love Giant Robots" T-shirts. ... Not that we'd ever have need for that.

The price of a PSP in Europe is set to be violently assaulted with a sharp object next month, when Sony plans to slash at it wildly in the hopes of trimming a few pounds. And Euros, obviously, but as with the US price drop earlier this month, that particular currency simply doesn't suit the rapid weight loss imagery we're going for.

A report on GamesIndustry.Biz indicates that the retail price of the PlayStation puny will drop by £20 in the UK to £129.99 on 4 May. The rest of the continent will pay €169.99 following a drop of €30. The change in price will be accompanied by a cheaper £14.99 tag for Platinum titles, with Ridge Racer 2, Tekken: Dark Resurrection, Killzone: Liberation, LocoRoco and Moto GP all being included in the range and fighting against the argument that the system doesn't have any games.

With shades of Namco, Capcom has gone on something of an IP land grab as of late, even going as far as to snatch what was once Namco's. Capcom has officially secured the exlusive rights to the MotoGP license for use with the PlayStation brand until the year 2012.

What this means is that while no one else can make a PlayStation or PSP title officially based on the popular motorcycle sport, the doors are still open for other platforms, as is the case with THQ's Moto GP series for Xbox 360. The secret is in the space.

Though no actual gameplay was shown, Capcom states that their first entry in the series, MotoGP '07 will be released this Fall for the PlayStation 2.

Surprise! Another demo came out today, from PSP-loving Namco. It's for MotoGP, where you go vroom vroom on motorcycles! Whee!

1. Download the demo ZIP file.
2. Extract the contents of the ZIP file.
3. Connect your PSP to your computer using a USB cable.
4. Go to the PSP/GAME folder.
5. Copy UCES00373 folder into the GAME directory.

The Mouse House also currently owns Propaganda Games in Vancouver, and Avalanche Software in Salt Lake City.

Climax developed MotoGP and ATV Offroad(R) Fury and may start cramming Disney characters into racing games, a la Mario Kart, or continue to develop sequels to both of these franchises. The recent MotoGP 2006 scored fairly decent numbers when it went through the paces, so hopefully BVG won't tinker too much with a formula that produces solid games.

Still, we're hoping that Climax insisted on cash and didn't receive only stock options, Mickey Dollars and tickets to EuroDisney. If they held out for bootleg copies of The Rescuers and Who Framed Roger Rabbit? with the missing footage intact, they're sitting on a goldmine.

Racing fans rejoice! Like GRAW, Blazing Angels, and Far Cry before it, Moto GP '06 has no region encoding. That means you can pick up a copy from Play-Asia for the delectable price of US $39.10 plus $3.90 shipping. A brand new 360 game for forty-three simoleons isn't bad at all. Those of you in doubt can check out X360F's previous proof of this amazing deal.

Anybody know of any other region free games out there?
