Mach Kobayashi is an effects artist at a little computer animation house called Pixar. His newborn son, Dyson, just might end up in the games industry one day, thanks to the work of a family friend. Mach wrote in to share photos of <a href="http://www.machwerx.com/2010/03/24/loco-roco-nursery/">Dyson's nursery</a>, painted by professional set designer Asaki Oda to look like it's smack dab in the whimsical world of Sony's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/locoroco"><em>LocoRoco</em></a>. Both Mach and his wife Tracy are big fans of the games, and we're just <em>guessing </em>little Dyson will be inclined to be one too, growing up looking at this amazing artwork.<br />
<br />
The mural work was done while the couple was in India to get Dyson and must have made the return home that much more memorable. Soda has documented the process in an <a href="http://mtwebb.smugmug.com/Friends/201003-Dyson-Nursery-Mural/11527942_WJzqM#811548608_wHHvW">online photo album</a> so the whole world can see how the room -- its walls overflowing with multicolored LocoRocos and their friends the Mui Mui -- took shape. <br />
<br />
If you're reading this, Asaki, expect a call soon -- we all want our entire <em>houses</em> redone by you!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/25/locoroco-themed-nursery-is-mui-mui-amazing/">LocoRoco themed nursery is Mui Mui amazing</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 25 Mar 2010 02:55:00 EST. No more Christmas tunes and hot cocoa just doesn't taste the same to us anymore. If only we had a giant mural like the one above to visit for an instant jolt of that Christmas feeling. It's a HUGE mural, if we may say so, and came out looking fabulous. <br /><br />[Via <a href="http://gonintendo.com/?p=32262">Go Nintendo</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/26/a-very-mario-christmas/">A very Mario Christmas</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 26 Dec 2007 12:45:00 EST. Watching <a href="http://www.chaelyndra.com/ateam/">The A*Team</a> reruns between classes, inviting everyone who came down the hall to play some <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/smash">Smash Bros.</a>, </em>spending all day making giant tributes to classic games ... <br /><br />Well, okay. We never made a huge <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/donkeykong"><em>Donkey Kong</em></a> mural in the windows of one of the college's buildings using nothing but Post-Its. Luckily, a group of UC Santa Cruz students stepped in and took the job upon themselves. The bar has officially been raised for college timewasting. This thing is really beautiful.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/10/donkey-kong-scales-college-students-search-for-hammers/">Joystiq]</a><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/11/donkey-kong-mural-proves-that-office-supplies-can-be-useful/">Donkey Kong mural proves that office supplies can be useful</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 11 Apr 2007 09:45:00 EST.
