With <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dead-island-riptide"><em>Dead Island: Riptide</em></a>, the marketing team is taking a decidedly different approach: They've decided on "No Room in Hell," a rap music video from in-game character Sam B, featuring real-life artist Chamillionaire.<br /><br />In the Dead Island universe, Sam B is a one-hit wonder for his song "<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&amp;v=78bj6ebUVqA">Who Do You Voodoo, Bitch?</a>" and "No Room in Hell" is the last single he recorded before traveling to the Royal Palms Resort Hotel on Banoi. Considering what went down on the island when he got there, his fake record label fears this might very well be his <em>last </em>single, ever.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/15/dead-island-riptides-fake-rap-video-stars-real-artist-chamilli/">Dead Island: Riptide's fake rap video stars real artist Chamillionaire</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 15 Nov 2012 15:30:00 EST. Brentalfloss clearly understands that relationship, as evidenced by the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/bioshock"><em>BioShock</em></a>-themed music video he created with some colleagues recently. The answer, it turns out is YouTube and Nintendo Video.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/21/more-music-videos-coming-to-3ds-today/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>More music videos coming to 3DS today</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/21/more-music-videos-coming-to-3ds-today/">More music videos coming to 3DS today</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 21 Mar 2012 11:00:00 EST. Music legend and adroit crime-solver Ice-T is a man of many, many talents, as evidenced by the very first part of this sentence, during which we explained that he is a music legend who solves crimes. Need further proof, for some inexplicable reason? The beverage-named gentleman, alongside his temporarily reunited musical outfit Body Count, will debut his newest music video on tonight's episode of X-Play: "Horde 2.0: Five Against All," a song inspired by <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/gears-of-war-3"><em>Gears of War 3</em></a>, which also features Ice-T's voice acting talents.<br />
<br />
We'll try to grab the video once it airs tonight on G4TV at 6:30 p.m. ET. Until then, we'll work tirelessly to corroborate these rumors that Ice-T did some of the programming on the fifth level of <em>Gears 3</em>, and also wrote a good hundred or so pages of the game's script.<br />
<br />
<strong>Update:</strong> Find the, uh, "music video" after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/01/ice-t-dropping-new-gears-of-war-3-track-tonight-on-g4/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Ice-T dropping new Gears of War 3 track tonight on G4 [update: And here it is!)</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/01/ice-t-dropping-new-gears-of-war-3-track-tonight-on-g4/">Ice-T dropping new Gears of War 3 track tonight on G4 [update: And here it is!)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 01 Aug 2011 17:30:00 EST. The contest is over, the winners have been chosen, and you can now pick up the winning maps from <a href="http://contest.thinkingwithportals.com/">the "Summer Mapping Initiative" contest</a> being held by Valve for <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/portal-2"><em>Portal 2</em></a>. A map called <a href="http://forums.thinkingwithportals.com/downloads.php?view=detail&amp;df_id=861">"Patent Pending"</a> took the top prize by offering a wide mix of mechanics, <a href="http://forums.thinkingwithportals.com/downloads.php?view=detail&amp;df_id=602">another called "Infinifling"</a> that's focused on "mid-air portaling techniques" ended up in second place. <a href="http://forums.thinkingwithportals.com/downloads.php?view=detail&amp;df_id=617">"Edifice,"</a> based in some of the destroyed Aperture chambers, picked up an honorable mention. All of the maps are free to download; just get the file, put it in your maps folder by following the <a href="http://www.thinkwithportals.com/blog.php?id=5742&amp;p=1">instructions on the official blog</a> and use the dev console to load it up and play.<br />
<br />
Congrats to the winners. Valve's also hosting <a href="http://www.thinkwithportals.com/videocontest/">a <em>Portal 2</em> music video contest</a> for <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-Vg2YS-sFE">the song by The National</a> included in the game. The deadline on that one is coming up in the middle of July, so you've still got time to film and upload it to YouTube. Good luck!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/28/portal-2-map-contest-winners-chosen-available-to-play-now/">Portal 2 map contest winners chosen, available to play now</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 28 Jun 2011 23:00:00 EST. Valve and The National are teaming up for a music video contest based on the band's "Exile Vilify" track from <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/portal-2/">Portal 2</a></em>. Using whatever means necessary -- they don't even have to think with portals -- participants have until July 15 to submit a music video for the song on YouTube with the tag "PORTAL2NATIONALEXILE." Valve, The National and "the community" will select the winner, who'll receive a fabulous prize package of <em>Portal 2</em> merch and a guitar autographed by The National.<br />
<br />

Following in the footsteps of groups like Anamanaguchi and Starscream, YouTube user MrSeberi has discovered a brave, radical new musical application for a piece of video game hardware with which you're likely very familiar. Last year, Billy Polard created a kind-of-a-bummer music video using Flipnote Studio for his song, "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/09/sad-sweet-music-video-made-in-flipnote/">Losing Light</a>." Polard recently returned to the DSi drawing board, and created yet another melancholy video for another of his tunes, "<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMGPD0q5Czc">when our bedrooms were once haunted</a>." For many, the fall of the Berlin Wall represents the triumph of freedom over facism. Long an icon of social repression, the Berlin Wall has evolved into something far greater. It's a <em>Call of Duty</em> map now. One that stages a musical number.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/03/call-of-duty-black-ops-first-strike-dlc-lands-on-ps3-gets-bo/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Call of Duty: Black Ops 'First Strike' DLC lands on PS3, gets bonus music video</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/03/call-of-duty-black-ops-first-strike-dlc-lands-on-ps3-gets-bo/">Call of Duty: Black Ops 'First Strike' DLC lands on PS3, gets bonus music video</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 03 Mar 2011 17:20:00 EST. There are two distinctly wonderful things included in Uber Entertainment's latest patch for the PC version of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/monday-night-combat">Monday Night Combat</a></em> -- appropriately titled the "<a href="http://www.uberent.com/blog/2011/02/steamy-valentine/">Steamy Valentine</a>" update. The first is a cornucopia of Valentine's Day-related new content, including some lovey-dovey character skins, a pink paint job for the game's much abused mascot, and a "Rose Petal Death Effect" for anyone who gets <em>got</em> while wearing the new Valentine's gear. Check out all the new additions and fixes after the jump.<br />
<br />
Also posted after the jump is the second of the update's big surprises: A music video, in which Bullseye professes his undying love for Pit Girl in the smoothest fashion imaginable. It is not to be missed under any circumstances.<br type="_moz" /><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/13/monday-night-combat-receives-steamy-valentine-update/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Monday Night Combat receives 'Steamy Valentine' update</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/13/monday-night-combat-receives-steamy-valentine-update/">Monday Night Combat receives 'Steamy Valentine' update</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 13 Feb 2011 15:30:00 EST. Ready to be impressed? UK pop group N-Dubz chose the path of adorableness in its latest trailer, employing <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/littlebigplanet-2">LittleBigPlanet 2</a></em>'s creation tools rather than a film crew. The results, we think, speak for themselves. Which is to say it's <em>very</em>, <em>very</em> impressive. The song? It speaks for itself too.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/08/littlebigplanet-2-used-to-create-n-dubz-music-video/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>LittleBigPlanet 2 used to create N-Dubz music video</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/08/littlebigplanet-2-used-to-create-n-dubz-music-video/">LittleBigPlanet 2 used to create N-Dubz music video</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 08 Feb 2011 21:40:00 EST. If you found yourself particularly inspired by the quartet of southern rock troubadours prominently featured in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/left-4-dead-2"><em>Left 4 Dead 2</em>'s</a> "Dark Carnival" campaign, you can now stretch your creative muscles to give one of the fictional band's hit songs some visual flair. <a href="http://www.l4d.com/blog/post.php?id=4284">Valve recently announced</a> a contest to create the best music video for the Riders' chart topper "<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJ7LPAm7f4E">Save Me Some Sugar (This Won't Take Long)</a>," which will make its debut in the upcoming "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/22/valve-reveals-the-sacrifice-dlc-for-l4d1-and-2-digital-comic/">The Sacrifice</a>" DLC campaign. The winner of the contest will receive a Valve "gift pack" and a guitar signed by all four members of the band.<br />

We speculated that the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/04/alan-wake-spotted-in-live-action-teaser/">live-action </a><em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/04/alan-wake-spotted-in-live-action-teaser/">Alan Wake</a></em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/04/alan-wake-spotted-in-live-action-teaser/"> teaser</a> that surfaced last week was promoting a new commercial or web short. It turned out to be a slick music video for "<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIG1xnYdlFo">WAR</a>," a song by Finnish rock band Poets of the Fall -- and one of the licensed tracks to feature in Remedy's atmospheric action game. The video features Alan Wake as portrayed by actor Ilkka Villi, who's basically the Milli Vanilli companion to voice actor Matthew Porretta.<br />
<br />
Head past the break to see Wake freak out to musical accompaniment, ponder his mysterious manuscript pages ... and wonder why the world's worst cameraman is stalking him and his wife through a field.<br />

Real or not, this <em>God of War</em> music video is absolutely hilarious. Set to Robin Thicke's "<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8s2_QLjF2Vs">Sex Therapy</a>," the music video made its premiere on <a href="http://g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/703220/X-Plays-God-of-War-Music-Video-Premieres-Tonight-at-630-PM.html">X-Play</a> tonight. We've learned two things from watching this clip: 1) Kratos' character design looks ridiculous outside of the game's context and 2) Kratos should never, ever show his "softer" side.<br />
<br />
Too bad this video isn't going to be used by Sony for promotional purposes. As revealed by this <a href="http://g4tv.com/videos/44737/Behind-the-Scenes-on-X-Plays-God-of-War-Music-Video/">behind-the-scenes video</a>, it's a rather elaborate experiment conducted by G4. It is quite possibly the greatest thing the network has ever done, and deserves a look after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/15/kratos-offers-some-sex-therapy-in-x-play-music-video/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Kratos offers some 'Sex Therapy' in X-Play music video</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/15/kratos-offers-some-sex-therapy-in-x-play-music-video/">Kratos offers some 'Sex Therapy' in X-Play music video</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 15 Mar 2010 22:00:00 EST. Europe's totally awesome (and totally exclusive) <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/vidzone">VidZone</a> service is finally expanding its reach. Sorry Americans, but this free music video streaming service isn't coming our way. Instead, eleven new European countries will be able to join the party by year's end. Here's the roll-out schedule:<br />
<ul>
    <li><strong>Thursday 26th November</strong>: Netherlands, Portugal, Austria</li>
    <li><strong>Thursday 3rd December</strong>: Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland</li>
    <li><strong>Thursday 10th December</strong>: Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, New Zealand</li>
</ul>
According to <a href="http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2009/11/17/vidzone-territory-expansion-11-new-countries%E2%80%A6the-dates-you-have-all-been-waiting-for/">PlayStation.Blog</a>, new users will have to wait upwards of 15 minutes when initially launching the service. Why? Apparently, there's so just that much content to load when the application is launched for the first time. Each subsequent visit will only take seconds -- good, because we're confident you'll be coming back for more.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/17/vidzone-expanding-to-11-more-european-countries/">VidZone expanding to 11 more European countries</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 17 Nov 2009 20:45:00 EST. Adding himself to the short list of things we associate with Sweden other than Volvo, Ikea, and <em>delicious</em> <em>meatballs</em>, Stockholm's Pato Pooh recently released <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Plhgyp0KNQQ">a music video</a> for his song "Follow Me." It features a regular who's who of 8- and 16-bit era gaming in the process, referencing everything from <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mega-man"><em>Mega Man</em></a>'s opening to the <em>Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles</em>. He even kills off that snickering jerk dog from <em>Duck Hunt</em> we all love to hate. Who's laughing now, dog? Who's laughing now<em>?</em>!<br /><br />[Thanks, SuerDOS!]<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/19/swedish-rapper-pato-pooh-asks-you-to-follow-him-into-the-old-sch/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Swedish rapper Pato Pooh asks you to follow him into the old school </em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/19/swedish-rapper-pato-pooh-asks-you-to-follow-him-into-the-old-sch/">Swedish rapper Pato Pooh asks you to follow him into the old school </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 19 Oct 2009 18:40:00 EST. Europe's exclusive music video service just surpassed one million downloads. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/VidZone/">VidZone</a> is SCEE's music video service that streams music videos -- new and old -- for free on PS3 and PSP. In addition to an archive of classics, VidZone most recently <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/22/u2-to-debut-new-video-exclusively-on-vidzone/">debuted</a> U2's latest single, "I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight," exclusively through the service.<br /><br />It's no wonder that VidZone has been popular amongst European PS3 owners considering its low cost of entry (free). The European <a href="http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2009/08/04/1000000-downloads-of-the-vidzone-music-video-application/">PlayStation.Blog</a> announced earlier today that "VidZone has had over 1 million downloads and 100 million video streams on PS3."<br /><br />We're certainly jealous of our friends across the Atlantic that can access the service. However, in spite of its success, it doesn't look like there are any plans (yet) to bring this service to the US. To see the top 10 videos on VidZone, click past the break.<br /><br />[Thanks, al thor!]<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/04/free-vidzone-app-passes-one-million-downloads/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Free VidZone app passes one million downloads</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/04/free-vidzone-app-passes-one-million-downloads/">Free VidZone app passes one million downloads</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 04 Aug 2009 19:00:00 EST. We're all still reeling from the passing of the King of Pop, but fortunately, Microsoft's got a nice (albeit brief) memorial for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Michael-Jackson/">Michael Jackson</a> up on Xbox Live. This weekend only, the Video Marketplace is giving away the full, ten-minute version of <a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/videos/media/fbed879f-75ab-451b-a0e5-252dcdea61e2/?bt=0&amp;sb=1&amp;mt=128&amp;gu=fbed879f-75ab-451b-a0e5-252dcdea61e2&amp;p=1&amp;of=0">MJ's classic "Thriller" music video</a> for your viewing pleasure. Yep, the greatest music video of all time is free to download until the end of the day today.<br /><br />It's a nice gesture -- but why not just make <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtyJbIOZjS8">the video</a> permanently free? We're not sure these wounds will heal in such a short period of time.<br /><br /><strong>Update: </strong>Looks like they've already take the deal down. If you don't feel like paying <em>two dollars</em> to watch a music video (and you shouldn't), you can just <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtyJbIOZjS8">watch it on YouTube</a> for free.<br /><br />[<a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/videos/media/fbed879f-75ab-451b-a0e5-252dcdea61e2/">Xbox Live Marketplace link</a> - US only (and no longer free)]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/28/microsoft-honoring-mj-with-free-thriller-video-download/">Microsoft honoring MJ with free Thriller video download (update)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 28 Jun 2009 11:30:00 EST. The Wonder Girls are rather popular in Korea, and it looks like Sony is leveraging their celebrity to promote the PS3. The music video for "Now" has the girls seductively turning on the PS3 and wildly moving their bodies to control <em>Gran Turismo 5 Prologue</em>. (Maybe they're using SIXAXIS controls?) The music is a little unbearable, and the video is almost absurd, but it's fun to see PS3 break into <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/19/japanese-rock-music-video-takes-place-in-a-littlebigplanet/">other forms</a> of media.<br /><br />[Thanks, James!]<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/06/korean-pop-group-wonder-girls-sing-about-ps3/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Korean pop group, Wonder Girls, sing about PS3</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/06/korean-pop-group-wonder-girls-sing-about-ps3/">Korean pop group, Wonder Girls, sing about PS3</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 06 Apr 2009 13:00:00 EST. You should probably avoid the music video we've embedded after the break. "Happy Up Here," the latest single from Norwegian electronic (and possibly electronic Norwegian) group <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royksopp">R&ouml;yksopp</a>, concocts an inoffensive, lighthearted and worst of all, <em>catchy</em>, sequence of bleeps and bloops. It's exactly the sort of thing that wafts out of someone's cubicle and ends up infecting every brain in the office, generating impromptu humming and arming those whistling, <em>morning people</em> with yet another way to annoy the rest of us. <br /><br />But it also features cute invaders ... from space! We think that's from a video game.<br /><br />[Thanks, V]<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/04/space-invaders-are-happy-up-there-in-royksopps-new-music-vid/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Space Invaders are happy up there in Royksopp's new music vid</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/04/space-invaders-are-happy-up-there-in-royksopps-new-music-vid/">Space Invaders are happy up there in Royksopp's new music vid</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 04 Mar 2009 17:57:00 EST. Japanese rock band Beat Crusaders' latest music video, "Phantom Planet," takes place in a world we're quite familiar with: the <em>LittleBigPlanet</em>. This adorable music video features the band members' faces stickered atop Sackboys, running around various levels from <em>LBP</em>. <a href="http://kotaku.com/5156272/hey-youve-got-littlebigplanet-in-my-japanese-pop-music-video">Kotaku</a> smartly points out that the band is signed on to DefSTAR Records, a division of Sony Music Japan, which may explain the blatantly promotional aspect of the music video.<br /><br />Hear the song after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/19/japanese-rock-music-video-takes-place-in-a-littlebigplanet/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Japanese rock music video takes place in a LittleBigPlanet</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/19/japanese-rock-music-video-takes-place-in-a-littlebigplanet/">Japanese rock music video takes place in a LittleBigPlanet</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 19 Feb 2009 23:00:00 EST. We don't claim to know much about music here at Joystiq (our long-time favorite band is Cap'n Geech and the Shrimp Shack Shooters) but we do know what warms us to our very cockles. That's exactly the effect achieved by DJ I-Dee's new video, "Swollen Dome/1991," which features more references to classic gaming than we can count.<br /><br />Be forewarned though, like all of our very favorite Christmas songs, it contains profanity. Check it out after the break.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.gamertagradio.com/vbportal/forums/showthread.php?p=61145">GTR</a>]<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/18/the-best-thing-youll-see-today-dj-i-dees-8-bit-music-video/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The Best Thing You'll See Today: DJ I-Dee's 8-bit music video</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/18/the-best-thing-youll-see-today-dj-i-dees-8-bit-music-video/">The Best Thing You'll See Today: DJ I-Dee's 8-bit music video</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 18 Dec 2008 10:45:00 EST. <p>Did you watch the Insomniac recruitment video? Of course you did. (Download a higher-res version <a href="http://www.vimeo.com/711492">here</a>.) Here's an exclusive for PS3 Fanboy readers. Ryan Schneider from Insomniac joins us to give a few behind-the-scenes commentary for the video. Find out a few new tidbits about the development team and get a few more hints about this <em>Resistance 2</em> game they have going on.<br /> </p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;"><strong>What was the inspiration for creating a recruitment music video?</strong><br />Well, when you go to things like GDC, everybody has their typical video. In general, everyone has their recruitment video - it's very "been there, done that." We just wanted to do something different. We wanted to create a video that captures who we really are and this video does. It shows that we take our games very seriously but not ourselves.</p>
