Next week's <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/rock-band-weekly"><em>Rock Band</em> DLC</a> includes packs from Bruno Mars and Rise Against (totally not The Machine). There are also pro guitar upgrades for M&ouml;tley Cr&uuml;e's "Kickstart My Heart" and Pearl Jam's "Even Flow" legacy titles.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/03/rock-band-weekly-bruno-mars-rise-against/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Rock Band Weekly: Bruno Mars, Rise Against</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/03/rock-band-weekly-bruno-mars-rise-against/">Rock Band Weekly: Bruno Mars, Rise Against</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 03 Jun 2011 18:20:00 EST. <div style="text-align: left;">Anyone see Kanye in the house? <em>Phew.</em> Moving on: This week's -- <em>uninterrupted</em> -- <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rock-band-weekly">Rock Band Weekly</a> announcement is headlined by Pearl Jam's <span style="font-style: italic;">Backspacer</span> album. The new tracks will appear on Xbox 360, Wii and PS3 on September 20, 22 and 24, respectively. Also, a special edition of the <em>Backspacer</em> album at Target stores, which releases September 20, will have a code to download the album onto Xbox 360 and PS3. (Remember, it's only the "special edition" that'll have the code.)<br /><br />Check out the track list, along with the update for <span style="font-style: italic;">Rock Band Unplugged,</span> after the break.<br /></div>

For a site that writes about all things video games, we've written an awful lot about <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/pearl-jam">Pearl Jam</a> over the last couple of years. In fairness, Pearl Jam has been making a lot of noise on the rhythm game front, releasing <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/20/rock-band-weekly-pearl-jams-ten-album/">an entire album as DLC</a> for <em>Rock Band 2</em>, eliciting responses from their community on a future "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/11/pearl-jam-returns-in-new-rock-band-project-with-fan-voted-set/"><em>Rock Band</em> project</a>," and now, announcing that their next album is dropping day and date at retail as well as DLC for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rock-band-2"><em>Rock Band 2</em></a>. <br /> <br /> <a href="http://www.billboard.com/#/features/pearl-jam-back-to-the-future-1003999243.story?page=3">Billboard</a> spoke with the band and confirmed that their next album, titled "Backspacer," will be "available on <em>Rock Band</em> the day it comes out." Additionally, Target will be getting its own version of the album that will come with a code to download various PJ songs in <em>Rock Band</em> -- a tactic that the group's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/04/rock-band-dlc-to-be-bundled-with-re-release-of-pearl-jams-ten/">employed in the past</a>. "Backspacer" hits stores and XBLM/PSN on September 20.<br /> <br /> [Via <a href="http://www.vg247.com/2009/08/01/pearl-jams-backspacer-to-land-on-rock-band-day-of-debut/">VG247</a>]<br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/02/pearl-jams-next-album-simulatenously-arrives-at-retail-in-rock/">Pearl Jam's next album simultaneously arrives at retail, in Rock Band 2</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 02 Aug 2009 13:30:00 EST. Sure, the releases aren't exactly synced with <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/rock-band-weekly">Rock Band Weekly</a>, but the back catalog of <em>Rock Band</em> DLC is certainly being filled in. Our concern that it would take until <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/27/rock-band-wiikly-six-more-tracks-is-just-what-we-needed/">mid-2010</a> for the full catalog sync is slowly dissipating. This week's update of 16 tracks to the Wii music store includes the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/22/rock-band-weekly-redux-pearl-jam/">Pearl Jam tracks</a> from a couple weeks back, along with a whole mess of other stuff. <em>Rock Band</em> fans are already familiar with Pearl Jam. The band has twelve tracks (all from <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/20/rock-band-weekly-pearl-jams-ten-album/">the "Ten" album</a>) available in the game, on disc and as DLC. However, it looks as though there's much more Pearl Jam coming down the line. A collaboration between MTV Games, Rhapsody, and the band's premium <a href="https://www.pearljam.com/">10 Club</a> will allow fans to vote on songs for a forthcoming "<em>Rock Band</em> project." This new project will be <em>Rock Band</em>'s "first-ever fan voted set list."<br /><br />The <a href="http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2400620#post2400620">release</a> is decidedly vague, and opens the possibility for a brand new game (a la <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/guitar-hero-metallica/"><em>Guitar Hero: Metallica</em></a>, or <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/the-beatles"><em>The Beatles: Rock Band</em></a>), a retail track pack (a la <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/30/nyt-rock-band-getting-wal-mart-exclusive-ac-dc-expansion/"><em>Rock Band: AC/DC</em></a>), or simple <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rock-band-weekly">DLC</a>. Pearl Jam's breakthrough 1991 debut album, <em>Ten,</em> becomes <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/rock-band-2"><span style="font-style: italic;">Rock Band</span></a>'s latest piece of grungy <a href="http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2125473#post2125473">DLC next week</a>. The album features several tracks that owned the radio airwaves in the early '90s, along with the song that inspired one of the most iconic music videos of all time -- "Jeremy." Ironically, after the success of <em>Ten</em>, the band became known for refusing to make videos for its songs.<br /><a href="http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=99893"><br /></a>Pearl Jam's <em>Ten</em> (1440<img border="0" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" alt="" /> / $18)<br />

At least we <em>assume</em> it's the remaster in <em>Rock Band,</em> and not the original, because that would be really weird timing.<br /><br />Geoff Keighley made the announcement while presenting at the Spike Video Game Awards, so we don't have a lot of information other than that it's on the way to <em>Rock Band.</em> The Wii version of <em>Rock Band 2</em> will presumably be out by March (we're <em>trying</em> to have faith that it'll be out <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/12/rumor-has-rock-band-2-slipped-to-2009/">this week</a>), so, for once, we'll be able to care about this DLC announcement.<br /><br />Despite the dangers of hearing your idiot friends failing to successfully imitate Eddie Vedder's vocals, we couldn't be more thrilled about this announcement. For some of us who were teenagers in the early '90s, and weren't too cool to buy an album that other people had heard of, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_(Pearl_Jam_album)"><em>Ten</em></a> was pretty dang world-changing.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/15/rock-band-2-plus-ten-in-march-2009/">Rock Band 2 plus Ten in March 2009</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 15 Dec 2008 11:00:00 EST.
