European PSN releases for April 23

Plenty of content to choose from today on the European PSN Store. PS1 releases continue with two uninspiring titles, and there's another torrent of DLC to grab for all your favorite games. There are also a couple of PS3 demos to check out and PSP owners have a couple games of their own to pick up.

First Penny Arcade Adventure brings full humor at half price this week, more April deals revealed

Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness ~~Turbo HD Remix~~, Episode One is on sale for 800

over the next 168 hours (give or take a few). At $10, the bite-sized RPG is worth the cost of entry for fans of the genre -- enjoying the Penny Arcade comic isn't a requirement.

Microsoft also makes note of some upcoming deals. Next week, starting April 13, (please make these long titles stop) Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 Co-op Collection will infiltrate Xbox Marketplace for 320

. The following two weeks will offer Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09's "Spyglass Hill Golf Course" and then NBA LIVE 365 at 400

and 560

, respectively.

Penny Arcade: Episode 2 gets patched

Ask and ye shall receive. Penny Arcade Adventure: Episode 2 has been patched so that the game will no longer create glitched save files. Good news, yay! However, PS3 Evolved is saying the patch does not fix save files that have already been corrupted. Those that were unfortunately afflicted with the glitch will have to restart the game from the beginning. Boo!

Penny Arcade: Episode 2 features game-ending glitch, patch coming next year

If you planned on playing Penny Arcade Adventures: Episode 2 this holiday break, you may want to wait. Many users are reporting a gltich which renders their save files completely useless. Selecting a corrupted save file will freeze gamers on a permanent "Loading" screen.

The problem has since been identified, and will be patched soon. However, due to the holidays, SCE QA is taking a little break. That means this patch won't be available until the new year, in January. Right now, it's unclear if a patch will fix any current save files. Considering the Penny Arcade Adventures aren't too long, starting over shouldn't be too bad -- but we're sure players would rather not.

PSN Thursday: Commandos crash over the rain-slick precipice

The Crash Commandos land this week on the PSN, along with Penny Arcade Adventures Ep. 2. If you're looking to whip up something a little more old-school, check out Castlevania Chronicles. There are also several pieces of new DLC for your favorite music games to keep you rockin' through the holidays. And don't overlook the "Complete My Game, Please" add-on pack for Super Stardust Portable. The complete North American PSN update can be found after the break.

PS3 Fanboy has the European PSN update, which adds Soldner-X Himmelssturmer. Maybe that title is easier to pronounce in Europanese?

Penny Arcade Adventures Ep. 2 coming to PSN Dec. 18

The PlayStation Blog gives word that the second episode of Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness will be available today on the PSN.

PAA: OtR-SPoD: Ep. 2 features Trophy support and, unlike the first installment, the option to change difficulty settings. The fruit-fracking mini-RPG will cost $15 and should be available as soon as the PSN update occurs later in the day.

Penny Arcade Adventures: Episode Two out today

The PlayStation Store update will be pretty significant today, it seems. Not only will Crash Commando come out today, the next episode of the Penny Arcade Adventures will be available. Episode Two adds multiple difficulty settings and will offer Trophy support.

Penny Arcade Adventures Episode 2, virtual Jeff Foxworthy hit XBLA

The second episode of the extremely successful adventure game, Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, and Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? hosted by a virtual Jeff Foxworthy are now available on the Xbox Live Arcade. The double-shot of Arcade fun will leave a gaping hole within virtual wallets as both titles ask 1200 Microsoft space-bucks, if you decide to buy them both or separately that is.

Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? is based off the popular game show that quizzes contestants on 21 different subjects used in the current curriculum in the 1st to 5th grade range. Penny Arcade Adventures: Episode 2 continues the story of web comic icons Gabe and Tycho and the user's created character, searching for answers and revenge in a steam-punk inspired universe. PSN Thursday: Prince of Persia Classic, Penny Arcade: Episode One

This week's PSN update brings two great downloadable titles with Prince of Persia Classic and Penny Arcade Adventures: Episode 1. The demo for Valkyria Chronicles is also available, along with Mega Man 9 content and premium themes. Check out the full update list after the break.

American PSN Store update for October 23rd

A bumper update today. Just like the EU update, there's a whole bunch of add-on content available for all sorts of games. Penny Arcade Adventures also makes its PSN debut alongside Prince of Persia Classic. There are also a couple of decent demos (unlike the EU update) and some DLC for Rock Band and its inferior clone. Penny Arcade Episode 2 next week for 1200 points

Microsoft, it would seem, has no pity whatsoever for our aching bank accounts (or cash stuffed mattresses, these days), as it has been officially announced that Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode 2 will arrive on Xbox Live Arcade next Wednesday, October 29. The game includes many new gameplay features, including extra difficulty modes, completion tracking, and the ability to transfer Episode One characters into the game. The game will also feature music from The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets, a rock group devoted to the writing of H. P. Lovecraft. Perhaps best of all -- and certainly most interesting -- PAAOTRSPDE2 will cost 1200 Microsoft Points, a full $5 less than the 1600 point Episode One. Find another video after the break.

Penny Arcade Adventures Ep. 2 coming Oct. 29 to XBLA, PC

The second episode of Penny Arcade Adventure: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, is coming next Wednesday, October 29, for Xbox Live Arcade, Windows, Mac and Linux. According to the press release, the PC versions will be available via Greenhouse. As previously revealed, the episode will cost $15 for all platforms. No word on the PlayStation 3 release. Episode One will finally be hitting the PS Store tomorrow, or six days before everyone else gets the sequel.

Penny Arcade Adventures Ep. 1 dated, priced for PSN

It's been a long(ish) wait for PlayStation 3 owners, but the first episode of Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness is finally landing on the North American PlayStation Network this Thursday, October 23rd. Other regions will follow "shortly thereafter," notes the press release.

In addition to gaining Trophies, custom soundtrack support and a score ranking feature, PS3 gamers will receive a "thanks for waiting" discount in the game's lower, $15 price. The Mac, PC and Linux versions on Greenhouse have also dropped to $15 -- good news for Penny Arcade fans and people who don't write for Edge.
