This update adds the Camera to the Emotes menu, so you can pull it out at any time and take some pictures of your bad virtual self. There are also improvements to the in-game item store, new animated items to buy and find, and some new features on the ignore and block system, as well as some general stability improvements.<br /><br />You can download and install the update on PlayStation Home right now. There are also some new deals and sales going on for Home's various virtual areas (like the x7 nightclub, above), but we'll let you find those for yourself. After all, exploration is what really draws players into Home, right? There <em>is</em> something that draws players into Home, right? We're pretty sure there must be something.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/13/playstation-home-updated-to-version-1-7/">PlayStation Home updated to version 1.7</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 13 Sep 2012 08:00:00 EST. Axel was formerly only available as a pre-order bonus, but as of tomorrow, April 18, his vehicle <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/04/17/twisted-metal-update-axel-available-to-all-tomorrow-starhawk-sweet-tooth-skin/">will be available to all</a>. You too can run around on two wheels, pushing smaller vehicles around with your special moves. <br /><br />The PSBlog has also posted a video, embedded below, of the Sweet Tooth skin going to <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/starhawk"><em>Starhawk</em></a> when it launches early next month. Every (new) copy of <em>Twisted Metal</em> has a code for the Outcast skin, so you'll just have to punch that in when the <em>Starhawk</em> comes out.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/17/axel-free-to-all-in-twisted-metal-tomorrow-sweet-tooth-skin-for/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Axel free to all in Twisted Metal tomorrow, Sweet Tooth skin for Starhawk previewed</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/17/axel-free-to-all-in-twisted-metal-tomorrow-sweet-tooth-skin-for/">Axel free to all in Twisted Metal tomorrow, Sweet Tooth skin for Starhawk previewed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 17 Apr 2012 22:00:00 EST. Seriously, have you been near someone playing the cowbell while your head is in a vice grip of feverish pain? It's terrible.<br /><br />PSN has spring fever, and its only symptoms are offering discounts and special deals on a handful of franchises for the next three weeks. PSN Spring Fever begins tomorrow with the launch of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/journey">Journey</a> </em>for non-PS Plus members (no discount; just the release) and a sale on the Call of Duty franchise, with <em>Black Ops</em>, <em>Modern Warfare</em>, <em>Modern Warfare 2</em>, and <em>Classic </em>full games on sale, and <em>World at War</em>'s map packs on discount.<br /><br />Check out this week's sale below, as provided by the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/03/12/psn-spring-fever-2012-new-games-discounts-call-of-duty-sale-this-week/">PlayStation Blog</a>, and play <em>Journey</em>. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/01/journey-review-i-want-to-go-to-there/#review">We think you'll really enjoy it</a>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/12/psn-spring-fever-promo-begins-tomorrow-its-probably-contagious/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>PSN Spring Fever promo begins tomorrow, it's probably contagious</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/12/psn-spring-fever-promo-begins-tomorrow-its-probably-contagious/">PSN Spring Fever promo begins tomorrow, it's probably contagious</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 12 Mar 2012 22:30:00 EST. Early adopters can update their systems to firmware version 1.61, which adds a Maps application to the home screen, allows for video recording in the Photos application, and allows for any ratings you make in the PlayStation Store to appear on Facebook. Additionally, the Discoveries screen now lists up to 100 players, as well as the number of times they've been seen.<br /><br />The Content Manager Assistant app has been updated, and is available now both as a Windows and Mac download. Even if you've got version 1.60 already, you should make the jump to 1.61, as Sony says there are some systemwide performance improvements too. The latest firmware can be downloaded on the console over Wi-Fi, or can be updated from a PC or Mac with the Content Manager Assistant.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/20/ps-vita-1-61-adds-maps-app-video-recording-and-other-updates/">PS Vita 1.61 adds Maps app, video recording, and other updates</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 20 Feb 2012 22:30:00 EST. Being a team composed of ex-media, the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/">PlayStation Blog</a> dudes have been sorely missing a podcast for some time, leaving Major Nelson to eat their lunch. Last month, however, PlayStation US social media guys Sid Shuman, Jeff Rubenstein, and Rey Gutierrez teamed up with product evaluator (and known <em>swell guy</em>) Nick Suttner to create the "Official PlayStation Blogcast."<br />
<br />
Beyond rapping about games, the guys do the occasional interview, highlight especially interesting PlayStation content (the <em>incredible</em> XMB theme above, for instance), and this week they're kicking off their "Origin stories" series on the game industry. The guys also have an insider eye into the goings on behind some of PlayStation's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/@vita">neatest stuff</a>, so it behooves you to give them a shot.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/10/playstation-blogs-all-stars-enter-week-three-of-official-blogc/">PlayStation blog's all-stars enter week three of official 'blogcast'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 10 Dec 2011 00:00:00 EST. The <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/psn-outage-2011">PSN outage</a> has caused another (online) casualty: the PlayStation Blog's comment system. Commenters are required to sign in using their PlayStation Network accounts, which, of course, are inaccessible. Only those who signed in before the PSN went down are able to comment.<br />
<br />
The European <a href="http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2011/04/28/issue-with-leaving-comments/">PS Blog</a> warns that the cookies on comment account logins expire after a week, which means that even those lucky enough to have signed in just before PSN went kaput will lose their online voices soon. The site lists Twitter accounts for each country, and directs users to leave feedback there. Though, if we were Sony, we would have a hard time looking at that feedback.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/28/psa-playstation-blog-comment-system-tied-to-psn-accounts-also/">PSA: PlayStation Blog comment system tied to PSN accounts, also down</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 28 Apr 2011 14:58:00 EST. Despite already having a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/23/playstation-blog-now-with-more-spanish/">Spanish language version</a> of the PlayStation Blog, Sony today announced plans for the official company blog to extend into Latin America. Unlike the Spanish language version, however, the Latin American version will directly target Central and South American PlayStation fans.<br />
<br />
Lorenzo Grajales will be heading up the PS blog's new wing, acting as Social Media Manager for the region. Tired of yelling CROSS GAME CHAT into every post on the PlayStation.Blog? Thankfully, there's a new venue for you to take advantage of. <a href="http://share.blog.us.playstation.com/">PlayStation.Blog Share</a> lets fans submit requests and vote on new features to implement across Sony's family of consoles. The requests range from the ever-popular <a href="http://share.blog.us.playstation.com/ideas/2010/03/17/cross-game-voice-chat/">cross game chat</a> option to more <a href="http://share.blog.us.playstation.com/ideas/2010/03/17/psp-remote-play-for-playstation-2-games/">specific options</a>, like enabling PSP Remote Play of PS2 games.<br />
<br />
It's certainly an interesting social experiment, but we wonder if fans will see any requests (large or small) come to fruition. At the very least, Share gives Sony the appearance of listening, and should reduce the obnoxious comment spam that oftentimes clutters the PlayStation.Blog.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/17/playstation-blog-share-lets-fans-chime-in-most-wanted-features/">PlayStation.Blog Share lets fans chime in most-wanted features</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 17 Mar 2010 21:45:00 EST. No, no -- we're only looking for cold-blooded, military-minded <em>killing machines</em>. If you're hoping to join our prestigious organization, you might want to give PlayStation.Blog's recently concluded <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/category/developer-corner/"><em>MAG </em>Developer Tips series</a> a look-see. It provides helpful information on how to play each archetype, how to fill each leadership role, and to not get <em>destroyed</em> in the various gametypes. <br />

It's rare that creator curators in the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/littlebigplanet"><em>LittleBigPlanet</em></a> community are rewarded for their homebrewed platforming projects -- a policy Media Molecule seems to want to reverse. Over the past few weeks, the developer has been handing out awards in various categories to the game's wide base of level designers. In <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/12/littlebigplanet-sack-it-to-me-the-09-sackies-minus-one-more-award-and-we-need-your-vote/">a recent PlayStation.Blog post</a>, the studio wrapped these awards up into a single presentation, cheekily titled the "2009 Sackies."<br />

In our rush to the yule late this past week, we nearly forgot to mention that Nathan Drake and Nathan Drake lookalikes (Drakealikes?) have the chance to earn double cash (read: XP) this weekend in <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/uncharted-2">Uncharted 2</a></em>'s multiplayer mode. Donning the ubiquitous red cap (and apparently two brand new invisible hands), those taking Drake online will encounter not just jollier looking foes, but also "double for all kills and medals," according to Naughty Dog marketing man Arne Meyer on the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/12/deck-the-halls-with-uncharted-2-double-cash/">PlayStation Blog</a>. The temporary XP boost kicked in on Christmas Eve (December 24) at 10AM PST and goes until tomorrow at 11AM PST, so there are still at least another 24 or so hours to shoot some of those <em>dastardly Drakealikes</em> in multiplayer. <br />

Sony Europe announced today that its PlayStation Blog format has been <a href="http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2009/09/22/willkommen-in-deinem-lokalen-playstation-blog-benvenuti-sul-playstation-blog-italiano/">localized</a> for German- and Italian-speaking audiences. The two new sites will likely translate much of the content found on the English site, with extra posts that will be specific for the region covered. <br />

    <li>For Spanish and French -- Ummmm...</li>
</ul>
<p>The French and Spanish blogs will allegedly launch "very soon." Considering significant portions of North America speak both of those languages, it'll be interesting to see if the US PlayStation Blog utilizes those translations.</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/22/sony-launches-german-and-italian-playstation-blogs/">Sony launches German and Italian PlayStation Blogs</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 Sep 2009 18:55:00 EST. Following in the great tradition of, um, the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/21/xbox-360-hits-the-big-screen-at-cowboys-stadium/">Jonas Brothers' tour manager</a> playing <em>Gears of War 2</em> on a <em>way too big</em> screen at Cowboy Stadium, EA and Sony are hosting a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/madden-10"><em>Madden 10</em></a> event for 256 lucky fans at the same stadium. The kicker? If you manage to snag a spot, you'll not only get access to the full game nearly a week early, but you may also find your gaming projected on one of the stadium's many enormous screens. <br /><br />The event takes place on Cowboy season ticket holder appreciation day and as such, those lucky enough to get inside may find 10,000 or so people in the stands. However, if you brave the <em>Madden 10</em> tourney ladder and win, you'll be walking away with a copy of the game, before its <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/31/madden-nfl-10-tackles-retail-on-august-14th/">August 14 release</a>, <em>and</em> a PlayStation 3. The <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/08/03/touchdown-madden-photo-contest-play-madden-inside-the-new-cowboys-stadium/">PlayStation US blog</a> is giving away 25 tickets (+1 guest) for little more than a silly photo of yourself demonstrating "your favorite touchdown dance or pose" with a PlayStation item in the picture. It could be worse, right? You could have to sing a Jonas Brothers song or something.<br /><br />

Running, jumping and, um, grabbing your way through over one million user-created <a href="http://johttp://www.joystiq.com/tag/littlebigplanet"><em>LittleBigPlanet</em></a> levels in under a year -- why that's like, 20 million miles! In fact, according to the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/07/22/littlebigplanet-community-reaches-one-million-creations/">PlayStation Blog</a>'s calculations, that's about one new level being published every 21 seconds since the game released.<br /><br />In celebration of the game's benchmark achievement, the game's developer, Media Molecule, has created the video you see above -- basically, a montage of various user-created levels, though we're more inclined to point you to <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/2009/02/27/littlebigcontra-collaboration-is-remarkable/">LittleBigContra</a> if you're really looking to be impressed. Furthermore, the post teases an August 18 reveal of "something interesting" from Media Molecule. Could it be <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/2009/07/08/media-molecule-new-levels-for-littlebigplanet-are-a-high-priori/">more downloadable levels</a> for the game? A new game entirely? A <em>brand new</em> car? We'll just have to wait until the 18th of August to see.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/22/littlebigplanet-hits-one-million-user-created-levels/">LittleBigPlanet hits one million user-created levels</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 22 Jul 2009 13:50:00 EST. <div align="left">Incoming! Another DLC pack is en route to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/killzone-2"><em>Killzone 2</em></a>. This time, it's the "Napalm &amp; Cordite" pack, which we'll be hearing much more about next week. In the meantime, Guerilla Games has seen fit to detail the next patch, which will coincide with the new DLC content. Patch 1.28 is the "latest and greatest update" to the game and adds a multitude of new features when it drops on July 14.<br />
<br />
These features include, obviously, code support for the new Napalm &amp; Cordite maps, "Suljeva Cliffside" and "Arctower Landing," as well as code which adds the flamethrower and bolt gun to multiplayer. The patch also contains new trophies, more detailed information when browsing games and a bunch of other fixes and updates. Check out the full list over at the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/07/10/killzone-2-dlc-3-napalm-cordite-and-flames-and-bolts/">PlayStation Blog</a>.<br />

<div align="left">So there's this contest going on at the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/07/03/create-a-comic-get-into-our-exclusive-comic-con-events-and-score-some-schwag/">PlayStation Blog</a>, but you needn't bother. As you can see above, we've already won. If you <em>insist</em> on trying your luck, you can find the comic template at the <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/playstationblog/3685182684/sizes/l/">PlayStation Flickr account</a>. In order to win the prize, which is access to VIP events at Comic Con on July 22 &amp; 23, including hands-on time with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/a-crack-in-time"><em>Ratchet and Clank: A Crack In Time</em></a> and other games. <br /><br />Can't make it to Comic Con? There's still some schwag in it for you, so you may as well give it a go. Except we've already won, as we've said. Still, your entries will need to involve something to do with <strong>time </strong>and must be sent to <a href="mailto:rcfcomiccon@gmail.com">rcfcomiccon@gmail.com</a> by midnight, July 10. Include your name, address and let them know whether you'll be in San Diego on July 22. </div>

Oops, we totally neglected to mention that yesterday was the 2nd birthday of Sony's <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/06/11/happy-2nd-birthday-playstationblog/">PlayStation Blog</a>. It's worth noting because of how the site has grown up under the leadership of Social Media Manager <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/jeff-rubenstein">Jeff Rubenstein</a> and the nameless/faceless behind-the-scenes folks at Sony's US PR operations. Since its inception, the site has helped humanize Sony's messaging and worked well in creating a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/01/virtually-playstation-blog-e3-2009-meetup/">better community</a> among Sony's devotees.<br /><br />The US PlayStation.Blog is working so well, in fact, that it's clearly the template for the recently launched <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/28/european-playstation-blog-now-live/">European PlayStation Blog</a> (which thankfully put two bullets in the back of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/three-speech">Three Speech</a>'s head). So, congrats to the US PlayStation Blog team! May they have many more years of blending the line between corporate mouthpiece and community site.<br /><br />

Luckily, you won't need a time machine, just check out the gallery below to see everyone having an amazing PlayStation time. <br /><br />Also, make sure you take a peek at the video above to see Jeff announce, with the result of rapturous applause, hand shaking and high fives, that the first one hundred people to attend will not only be going to the Sony Press Conference, but to the entire three-day show, as well. <br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/playstation-blog-meetup-e3-2009-1/">Playstation Blog Meetup: E3 2009</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/playstation-blog-meetup-e3-2009-1/#2046715"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/psbloggermeetupe3200906_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/playstation-blog-meetup-e3-2009-1/#2046714"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/psbloggermeetupe3200904_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/playstation-blog-meetup-e3-2009-1/#2046713"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/psbloggermeetupe3200908_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/playstation-blog-meetup-e3-2009-1/#2046712"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/psbloggermeetupe3200907_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/playstation-blog-meetup-e3-2009-1/#2046711"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/psbloggermeetupe3200909_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/01/virtually-playstation-blog-e3-2009-meetup/">Virtually @ PlayStation Blog E3 2009 meetup</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 01 Jun 2009 04:00:00 EST. The first 100 people in line for tonight's Sony PlayStation Blog E3 2009 meet-up at Mama's Hot Tamales Caf&eacute; in Los Angeles knew they were getting entrance to the company's press conference. But the big shock? Those lucky hundred were also admitted to the E3 show floor for three glorious days of unreleased game ogling. <br /><br />Congratulations gang, make sure you lick the wallpaper and avoid the Fizzy Lifting Drinks.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/31/sony-meet-up-guests-get-e3-badges/">Sony meet-up guests get E3 badges</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 31 May 2009 23:00:00 EST. <div align="left">SCEE has -- rather unceremoniously -- opened the <a href="http://blog.eu.playstation.com/">European PlayStation Blog</a> for business. It's been a <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/2009/04/08/thank-the-gawds-three-speech-is-dead-replaced-by-eu-playstatio/">long time coming</a> and something European PlayStation fans have been clamoring for for quite a while now. We're very happy to see that the new blog not only mirrors the design of the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/">US version</a>, but that there will be back and forth between the site's contributing editor Charlotte Large (a.k.a. our new best friend) and the guys over at the US blog.<br /><br />Hopefully this official blog going live just prior to E3 means we'll be seeing lots of Europe-specific updates from the show. Check the it out for yourself and follow the new <a href="http://twitter.com/PlayStationEU">@PlayStationEU</a> twitter account, too. </div>

Ready or not, <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/05/13/ps3-firmware-v276-update/">here comes</a> another firmware update. Firmware 2.76 is due to arrive soon and will "improves the playback quality of some PS3 format software." In our experience, this can mean two things: either the firmware update will appear to do nothing whatsoever, or it will add several tiny features and fixes that we will need to discover for ourselves. Either way, the update should be hitting within the next day or so, if previous updates are anything to go by. <br /><br />If you discover anything interesting hidden in firmware 2.76, be sure to let us know in the comments below.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/13/firmware-2-76-coming-soon-adds-nothing-of-interest/">Firmware 2.76 coming soon, adds nothing of interest</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 13 May 2009 21:00:00 EST. <div align="left">This Thursday, May 6, is the release date for the digital release of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/patapon-2"><em>Patapon 2</em></a>. It's also the day on which you can show off your love for the franchise by donning <em>Patapon</em> clothing within <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/home"><em>Home</em></a>. They'll be available from the Threads store in the mall, though there's no word on whether they will be free or not. Acting as walking billboards is one thing, without having to pay for the pleasure. <br /><br />Having said that, we wouldn't mind seeing those male tees made available in real life. If you agree, you can let the appropriate people know by indicating your favorite tee on the official <em>Home </em>forums or in the comments of the latest <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/05/05/patapons-invade-retail-and-playstation-home/">PlayStation Blog post</a>. While you're in <em>Home</em> you may notice a video interview with the producer behind <em>Patapon 2</em>, Christian Hinojosa-Miranda, on the big screens. Check it out, he might have answered one of <a href="http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=ps3home&amp;thread.id=641269&amp;view=by_date_ascending&amp;page=1">your questions</a>.<br /></div>

<div align="left">What are you up to from 10am PST/1pm EST on Tuesday May 5th? Heads up -- that's either today or tomorrow, depending on when you're reading this. Cancel those plans, because <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/05/04/killzone-2-battle-the-dev-team/">you've got a playdate</a> for "at least a couple of hours" with some of the developers of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/killzone-2"><em>Killzone 2</em></a> in their snazzy new Steel And Titanium maps. There will be official Guerrilla Games servers made available starting at these times, the passwords for which can be obtained through the <a href="http://twitter.com/SonyPlayStation">PlayStation Blog twitter account</a> before the event begins.<br /><br />There will also be various Guerrilla Games developers snooping around the various public servers, in case you don't make it into the official servers. Europeans will be happy to hear that a similar event will be held for them "very shortly after." We're taking that to mean a matter of days, rather than a matter of hours. </div>

Oh, so <em>this </em>is what <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/2009/03/25/sony-registers-trademark-holy-invasion-of-privacy-badman/">that bizarre trademark</a> was about. NIS has just revealed a new PSP game called <em>Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! What Did I Do to Deserve This?</em> via the PlayStation.Blog. This is a heavily localized version of <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/tag/yuusha"><em>Yuusha no Kuse ni Namaikida</em></a>, a mix between <em>Dig Dug</em> and <em>Dungeon Keeper</em>. You must protect the villain, Badman, from the approaching do-gooders who want him dead. In order to do this you'll need to dig around, create monsters and keep balanced the delicate Demon Ecosystem. Sounds intriguing to us!<br /><br />We're not sure we're going to truly understand the game until we see it in action, but until then you can check out a bunch of confusingly mysterious screenshots in our gallery. It sounds like it won't be too long before the game is out, with a demo being made available on the PSN Store "soon." Check out the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/04/07/holy-invasion-of-privacy-badman/">PlayStation.Blog</a> for more information, as well as instructions on how to enter the Holy Hidden Codes, Badman online contest.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/holy-invasion-of-privacy-badman/">Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman!</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/holy-invasion-of-privacy-badman/#1477440"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/04/3421748655_d6f391deb5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/holy-invasion-of-privacy-badman/#1477439"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/04/3421748611_1b75b20197_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/holy-invasion-of-privacy-badman/#1477438"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/04/3421748593_19289e6c77_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/holy-invasion-of-privacy-badman/#1477437"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/04/3421748573_da464b81dc_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/holy-invasion-of-privacy-badman/#1477436"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/04/3422560504_90ef25cc39_b_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/07/nis-reveals-holy-invasion-of-privacy-badman-for-psp/">NIS reveals Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! for PSP</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 07 Apr 2009 22:00:00 EST. The PlayStation.Blog.Lounge at <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/gdc-2009">GDC</a> will be briefly open to the public for minglement during the convention next week. The lounge is a dark, dank den of sin that Sony sets up for media to eat, drink and <strike>participate in hot tub shenanigans</strike> relax during the show; however, for a fleeting few hours it'll be open to those who <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/03/18/want-to-meet-up-at-gdc-2009/">register</a> to get in -- it can get pretty cramped in there, so space is certainly limited.<br /><br />The lounge will be open March 25 from 7-9PM near the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Bring your <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/psp">PSP</a> and come hang out with fellow PlayStation.Blog readers and press -- you might even see a Joystiqer or two. Remember, you <em>must</em> register to get in.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/19/playstation-blog-reader-meetup-at-gdc/">PlayStation.Blog reader meetup at GDC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 19 Mar 2009 10:45:00 EST. <em>Resistance: Retribution</em> is about to hit store shelves, and the masterful team behind it is Sony Bend. The team has earned critical acclaim for the impressive tech they've managed to squeeze into the <em>Syphon Filter</em> games on PSP. Those that want to find out more about the game and chat with the developers will get a chance tomorrow. The <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/03/17/resistance-retribution-out-today-chat-with-the-devs-tomorrow/">PlayStation.Blog</a> is hosting a live chat event tomorrow, March 18th at 3:00PM EST.<br /><br />If you decide to attend, don't forget to use the phrase "bite my infected ass." We're almost 100% certain this will get your question answered.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/17/sony-bend-to-participate-in-playstation-blog-live-chat-tomorrow/">Sony Bend to participate in PlayStation.Blog live chat tomorrow</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 17 Mar 2009 22:00:00 EST. <div align="left">You're currently looking at the box art for Sucker Punch's upcoming PS3 exclusive, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/infamous"><em>inFamous</em></a>. The cover, along with the release date (well -- month, at least), was revealed <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/03/06/infamous-date-demo-and-art-revealed/">on the PlayStation Blog</a> today. You'll be stepping into the electrified shoes of Cole McGrath at some point in June. We're not sure <em>inFamous</em> will be as successful as last June's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mgs4">major PS3 exclusive</a>, but players will be able to try this one out before they buy, as a demo has already been confirmed.<br />
<br />
The game's soundtrack has also been detailed <a href="http://www.music4games.net/News_Display.aspx?id=1174">on Music 4 Games</a>. <strong>Update:</strong> The source link for the soundtrack information has been removed, but the article alleged that the game music would be a collaborative effort between Amon Tobin, Jim Dooley, Mel Wesson, Martin Tilman who, between them, have worked on <em>Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Pushing Daisies, Pirates of the Caribbean</em> and <em>Black Hawk Down.</em> The now-removed source added that in order to produce a more urban, gritty sound, the composers will be creating music from "real-life objects and materials found in urban environments." In response to these alleged details, Sony states, "We have not made any official announcements regarding the music in <em>inFamous.</em>" (That's right Sony! Stuff the cat right back in that bag.) We'll let you know when the truly <em>infamous </em>soundtrack is ready for your ears -- and eyes.</div>

Do you know the exact number of <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/trophies">Trophies</a> you have ... off the top of your head? We know how tedious it is loading up your PS3 <em>every time</em> you want to remind yourself of your in-game accomplishments. Thankfully, this is now a thing of the past. Once PlayStation.com updates with its new Trophy tracking features, you'll be able to check your PSN level, Trophy count and lists for each individual game from anywhere with internet access.<br /><br />The update is due to go live tomorrow. The functionality will be very basic at launch, allowing you to simply check your own Trophy stats. After a later update, you'll be able to compare your Trophies against friends' and "look at your Trophies in new and interesting ways." We're hoping the info will be made available for third-party applications and websites to access at some point in the future, too.<br /><br /> In the meantime, check out our gallery below to see what your Trophies will look like on PlayStation.com and visit the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/03/02/viewing-your-playstation-trophies-on-playstationcom">PlayStation Blog</a> for a video walkthrough of the new site features.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/trophies-on-playstation-com/">Trophies on PlayStation.com</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/trophies-on-playstation-com/#1395540"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/trophiesonpscom31024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/trophies-on-playstation-com/#1395539"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/trophiesonpscom21024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/trophies-on-playstation-com/#1395538"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/trophiesonpscom11024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/02/trophy-tracking-coming-soon-to-playstation-com/">Trophy tracking coming soon to PlayStation.com</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 02 Mar 2009 15:12:00 EST. <div align="left">Planning on picking up <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/killzone-2"><em>Killzone 2</em></a> within the next 24 hours? Of course you are. Before you stick it in your PS3's drive and get transported to Helghan for the foreseeable future, the PlayStation Blog <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/02/26/picking-up-your-copy-of-killzone-2-soon-snap-a-pic/">has a request</a>. Take a photo of yourself posing with your newly purchased treasure (preferably <em>as</em> you're buying it) and upload it to the <a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/PlayStationBlog/14104316802#/pages/PlayStationBlog/14104316802">PlayStation Blog Facebook page</a>. Make sure it's also tagged "kz2." The best photos will win an official strategy guide for the game.<br /><br />If you don't have a replica ISA rifle handy -- like the PlayStation Blog's Jeff Rubenstein has in the above image -- don't be put off. Blog employees aren't allowed to win. Good luck!</div>

Sorry collectors, it looks like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/killzone-2"><em>Killzone 2</em></a> will not receive a special limited edition when it launches in America on February 27th. Just a bog-standard vanilla pack. Jeff Rubenstein confirms this in a comment on the <em>Killzone 2</em> <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/01/13/ces-2009-killzone-2-interview/">CES interview post</a>; "There is no collector's edition slated for <em>Killzone 2</em>. Guerrilla Games has put all of their effort into creating this masterpiece of a game, so we didn't actively pursue a CE." A shame, really. The game would've lent itself well to a collector's edition. Maybe we'll see one for <em>Killzone 3</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/14/sad-day-for-collectors-no-limited-edition-killzone-2-pack/">Sad day for collectors: no limited edition Killzone 2 pack</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 14 Jan 2009 12:45:00 EST. Some of us did too, to be honest. Some of us are not particularly big fans of sports games, so we assumed this <em>Home</em> space is for <em>other people</em>. Until, that is, we saw the new walkthrough video that has appeared <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/01/09/ces-2009-inside-eas-upcoming-home-sports-complex/">on the PlayStation Blog</a>, which shows off the entire space, including the three mini-games. <br /><br /><em>Home</em> users will be able to race go-karts against each other, with four people racing at once. There's also a golfing minigame and poker tables. While these are nothing <em>too</em> exciting on their own, EA are introducing a "light progression system" with their area. That means that you'll be able to spend your winnings on upgrading your go-karts, and progressing to higher level poker tables. There will also be wearable prizes and stuff for your <em>Home</em> apartment, as usual.<br /><br />So even if you're not a sports fan, you should find something to do within the EA Sports <em>Home </em>space when it launches around March.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/09/the-ea-sports-home-space-is-actually-pretty-awesome/">The EA Sports Home space is actually pretty awesome</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 09 Jan 2009 18:35:00 EST. It looks like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/cuboid"><em>Cuboid</em></a>, one of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/19/screenshots-creat-studios-three-psn-games-revealed/">three upcoming PSN games</a> from Creat Studios, will be released soon. A post on the PlayStation Blog by Creat Producer Olga Sokolova shows a little more of what we can expect from the game. <em>Cuboid</em> will sell for $9.99 when it releases "soon" and will include 66 levels (that's just over 15 cents a level). Creat promises that there will also be post-launch premium packs including new levels as well as a level editor. <br /><br />Check out the video after the break to see the game in action and check out the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/01/07/cuboid-coming-exclusively-to-psn-on-thursday/">PlayStation Blog post</a> for some details on some of <em>Cuboid</em>'s gameplay mechanics.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/07/cuboid-detailed-and-priced/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Cuboid detailed and priced</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/07/cuboid-detailed-and-priced/">Cuboid detailed and priced</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 07 Jan 2009 12:30:00 EST. It looks like the PlayStation Blog will be undergoing a bit of a redesign and, as a result, will be down for a short time on Monday. We're promised that it should be back with us by 9am PST. When it does return it'll have some funky new features and a slightly different layout, as you can see from the screenshot above (click it for a higher res version over at Sony's <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/playstationblog/3027494361/sizes/o/">flickr page</a>).<br /><br />New features include complete integration of all Sony's web 2.0 activity, including a Twitter ticker and easy links to facebook, viddler and flickr. There will also be a list of recent posts, so that whenever you happen to wake up you will be able to easily see what you've missed since your last visit. This is just the beginning -- the PlayStation Blog will continue to evolve over time (with some pretty cool upcoming features, we might add) and they're looking for <em>your</em> feedback. So <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/11/14/changes-coming-to-playstationblog/">leave a comment</a> and let them know what you want to see.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/14/playstation-blog-redesign-imminent/">PlayStation Blog redesign imminent</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 14 Nov 2008 22:30:00 EST. <em>Valkyria Chronicles</em> is out today! You should really go buy it if you're a fan of strategy RPGs and/or excellent stories. Need another reason? A new post on the PlayStation Blog has confirmed that the downloadable content that was made available in Japan will be translated for western audiences. Both add-on packs will be made available in America and Europe in "early 2009." <br /><br />The DLC involves a new mission and an extra hard skirmish mode. One of these allows you to play as the evil Imperial army invading Gallia and includes new vocals and and new sets of battles. These packs were paid content in Japan so no doubt they'll be the same over here. So even as you play through the lengthy main mission you'll have some new stuff to look forward to early next year. Hopefully Sega will also add trophies at some point too.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/04/valkyria-chronicles-dlc-heading-west-in-2009/">Valkyria Chronicles DLC heading west in 2009</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 04 Nov 2008 16:25:00 EST. Did you know yesterday was launch day for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/motorstorm-pacific-rift"><em>MotorStorm Pacific Rift</em></a>? In case you might've forgotten Nigel Kershaw, the game's director, put up a <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/10/27/motorstorm-pacific-rift-lunatics-unite/">new post</a> on the PlayStation Blog just to remind you. In doing so he also gives us some interesting information about upcoming downloadable content for the game. Once the development team have had a break they'll be back to work finishing off some DLC they've already got in the pipes. <br /><br />"We've got a pile of stuff waiting in the wings, and, you'll be glad to know, a lot of it is free." Which we know will please a lot of people who were annoyed at having to pay to unlock content on <em>MotorStorm 1</em>'s disc. It seems DLC will be appearing quite regularly, too, as the team is "going to try and give you something new to play with every week." There's also talk of some bigger expansions making their way to the Store by Christmas. <em>MotorStorm 1</em> was very well supported post-release and its sequel looks to be no exception. We're intrigued to see what Evolution have in store for the game.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/28/plenty-of-downloadable-content-to-come-for-motorstorm-pacific-ri/">Plenty of downloadable content to come for MotorStorm Pacific Rift</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 28 Oct 2008 11:00:00 EST. Want to get in on the <em>Resistance 2</em> action? You'd better be quick! <a href="http://beta.myresistance.net/apply">Registration for the open beta</a> in the US closes at 4PM Pacific time today. If you miss it, however, don't be too sad. There'll be other chances to get a key, what with <a href="http://www.usatoday.com/tech/gaming/default.htm">USA Today</a> handing out a load of them, starting on Tuesday. No doubt other media outlets will get their hands on them too. <br /><br />If you get your hand on a code make sure you use it before 5pm October 29th. At that time the download servers will be turned off. At one minute to midnight on October 30th the gameplay servers will be switched off and the beta will effectively end. After that you'll have only a few days to wait before the full game releases. Maybe you could use the time to replay <em>Resistance 1</em> in preparation.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/24/some-important-info-regarding-the-us-resistance-2-beta/">Some important info regarding the US Resistance 2 beta</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 24 Oct 2008 19:15:00 EST.
