But the patent proposing the above device has one odd feature: controller grips on the side of the wheel, which houses a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/move/">PlayStation Move</a>, that extend outward.<br /><br />The patent - it's described as "ornamental design for a video game controller peripheral" - was originally filed in April of last year and <a href="http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&amp;Sect2=HITOFF&amp;u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-adv.htm&amp;r=1&amp;p=1&amp;f=G&amp;l=50&amp;d=PTXT&amp;S1=D656996&amp;OS=D656996&amp;RS=D656996">recently surfaced online</a>. As is the case with many patents, this is less of a guaranteed product and more of snapshot of some of the ideas that went through a peripheral designer's head.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/19/just-look-at-this-ps-move-steering-wheel-patent/">Just look at this PS Move steering wheel patent</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 19 Apr 2012 23:00:00 EST. Around this time last year, Sony announced it had shipped <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/30/sony-playstation-move-reaches-4-1-million-in-worldwide-sales/">just over 4 million units</a> of its motion gaming peripheral, the PlayStation Move. And then in early April, about five months later, the company once again announced a new shipping number of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/15/sony-8-million-move-units-shipped-50-million-ps3s-sold-worldwi/">around 8 million</a>, doubling the original shipped number. Unfortunately for Sony, it seems the last seven months haven't maintained that momentum, with 1 million being added to the total shipped number (approximately 9 million in total), according to <a href="http://www.industrygamers.com/news/ps3s-move-closing-the-sales-gap-with-kinect/">Industry Gamers</a>.<br />
<br />
As per usual, Sony isn't giving out hard numbers for units actually <em>sold</em>. It stands to reason, however, that if retailers have only ordered another 1 million units leading up to the holiday season, the peripheral likely isn't selling like, say, Walter White's crystal meth (hotcakes are <em>so</em> out of fashion).<br />
<br />
Microsoft has been spinning a similar story with its own motion peripheral, the Kinect, holding to sales statements <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/09/microsoft-10-million-kinect-units-kinect-games-sold/">made last March</a> (10 million sold -- not shipped) rather than offering new data. We're holding out hope that the two hardware companies are more vocal after the coming holiday sales bonanza, but we're not holding our breath either.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/24/report-playstation-move-ships-9-million-a-million-in-the-past/">Report: PlayStation Move ships 9 million, a million in the past half year</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 24 Nov 2011 19:30:00 EST. Next week, Sony will introduce two new bundles featuring the <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/playstation-move">PlayStation Move</a> to entice the family crowd. The first is a Move peripheral bundle, which includes the wand, PlayStation Eye, <em>Sports Champions</em> and <em>Medieval Moves: Deadmund's Quest</em> for $99.99.<br />
<br />
The second offering is a PlayStation 3 <em>Everybody Dance</em> bundle. The box includes a 320 gigglebyte console, Move controller, PS Eye and <em>Everybody Dance</em>. The box also features the stock image of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/31/games-convention-online-logs-into-existence-today-in-leipzig/">ever</a>-<a href="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/img121313135.jpg">present</a> Peter Pan hoodie dancer man. We haven't heard exactly how <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/bioshock-infinite"><em>BioShock Infinite</em></a> will make use of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/06/bioshock-infinite-features-move-functionality/">Move</a> peripheral, only that it will; however, we now know that you'll have the option to play <em>Infinite</em> with its very own "special" Move device.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.videogamer.com/ps3/bioshock_infinite/news/bioshock_infinite_getting_ps_move_peripheral.html">Videogamer</a> caught the following note in a <a href="http://uk.playstation.com/psn/news/articles/detail/item397435/PlayStation-Move-The-new-wave-of-games/">Move article</a> on the UK PlayStation site: "A special PS Move peripheral is being produced that will draw you even deeper into this stunning vision of a parallel future." The article no longer makes any mention of a specialized peripheral, suggesting that this news got out a little bit early, and Sony and Irrational are now trying to open a tear in the fabric of reality into a parallel future where we don't know about this.<br />
<br />
We're contacting Sony and Irrational now to try to learn more. Until then, let your imagination run wild! Is it a Skyhook? A <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/12/joyswag-bioshock-infinite-swag-bag-murder-of-crows-drink-po/">bottle</a> with a glowing ball on top?<br />
<br />

<em>Heavy Rain Director's Cut</em> launches on November 8. In addition to scrapped content, the re-release also includes The Taxidermist DLC, the soundtrack, eight bonus making-of videos, a few themes, concept art and two trailers, <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/11/03/heavy-rain-directors-cut-ships-november-8th/">PlayStation Blog</a> reports. There's also a new front-end menu and UI with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/13/heavy-rain-patches-in-move-support-september-22/">Move support</a>.<br />
<br />
To celebrate the (re)launch, Sony's making the Heavy Rain Crime Scene Dynamic Theme available on PSN the same day. We're sure that'll fill the void in your heart left by the child you lost at the mall that one time.<br />
<br />

<em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/the-house-of-the-dead">House of the Dead: Overkill</a></em> was something of a self-fulfilling prophecy. It's a game defined by its grindhouse, B-movie trappings and, when it arrived on the Wii in February 2009, it developed the sort of cult audience that builds around the films the game set out to emulate.<br />
<br />
Of course, by definition, cult audiences aren't particularly large, so Sega's attempting to reach a new crowd with <em>House of the Dead: Overkill Extended Cut</em>, a beefed up version of the hilarious, well-built on-rails shooter. Yes, Agent G and Isaac Washington have made the transition to PS3 and -- fair warning -- they still work pretty blue.<br />

Today, the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/10/25/sack-it-to-me-littlebigplanet-2-move-bundle-lbp2-special-edition-uncharted-3-costume/">PlayStation Blog</a> confirmed <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/18/rumor-killzone-3-resistance-3-move-bundle-lbp2-special-editi/">earlier rumors</a> of a re-release for <em>LittleBigPlanet 2</em>. We can't say we're surprised, since the previous <em>LittleBigPlanet</em> game had <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/17/littlebigplanet-game-of-the-year-edition-coming-sep-8-59-99/">a Game of the Year Edition re-release</a>, but here it is: both a limited edition title with all of the game's DLC thus far and a PlayStation Move hardware bundle are coming to select retailers on November 15.<br />
<br />
The <em>LittleBigPlanet 2: Special Edition</em> features the original game, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/14/littlebigplanet-2-move-pack-review/">PlayStation Move add-on content</a>, the <em>Toy Story </em>level and costume pack, and the pets costume packs, all in one package. But if you're lacking in hardware and have got the requisite clearance for flailing in your domicile, then perhaps the PlayStation Move hardware bundle is for you. It includes the enhanced version of <em>LBP 2</em>, plus a PlayStation Move controller, a Nav controller and a PlayStation Eye camera.<br />
<br />
Sorry, no word on pricing, but we imagine the game will be $59.99 and the bundle will be somewhere around $149.99.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/26/sony-creates-littlebigplanet-2-move-bundle-separate-limited-edi/">Sony creates LittleBigPlanet 2 Move bundle, separate limited edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 26 Oct 2011 09:00:00 EST. We still don't really know what the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/09/mystery-move-game-in-development-courtesy-of-plastic-and-sony-s/">Move game</a> is that's being made by Plastic and Sony Santa Monica, but we can now see a <em>second</em> video of it at <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-09-26-fresh-details-on-new-santa-monica-game">Eurogamer</a>. Like the previous video, the latest release consists of off-screen footage, mostly of a forest environment with a mysterious floating hand. There's an equally mysterious door in the forest, not connected to anything.<br />
<br />
Other footage shows that floating hand in a car, gripping the steering wheel. We're sure the hand is supposed to be some kind of on-screen avatar representing the Move controls, but the effect of being in a car driven by Thing is terrifying. A double image in the video suggests that whatever this is, it will display in 3D.<br />
<br />
The video actually consists on two variations of the same scenes, one in which the player-controlled car drives by a pig, and another in which it collides with said pig. "Comparing them will give you all the answers about our upcoming title," Plastic told Eurogamer when it sent the footage. So ... the game is like <em>Quantum Leap</em>, but with a disembodied hand going back in time to save a pig. That's our official guess. Oh boy. <p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/26/additional-footage-from-plastics-move-game-deepens-the-mystery/">Additional footage from Plastic's Move game deepens the mystery</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 26 Sep 2011 17:00:00 EST. Sony announced its holiday lineup of PlayStation Move games, anchored by ... two games that are already out! In addition to the Move Pack add-on for <em>LittleBigPlanet 2</em>, Sony revealed that Move support will be added to both <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/infamous-2"><em>Infamous 2 </em></a>and<em> <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/infamous-2-festival-of-blood">Infamous 2: Festival of Blood</a></em>. The $14.99 Festival of Blood will include built-in support for the glowy controller, and will also include the update for <em>Infamous 2</em> when it launches on October 25.<br />
<br />
After the break, find release dates for other Move titles coming this quarter, including <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/medieval-moves-deadmunds-quest"><em>Medieval Moves</em></a>, <em>Carnival Island</em>, and <em>EyePet and Friends</em>. Actually, make that "release date," singular -- Sony's putting them all out on November 15.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/15/infamous-2-and-festival-of-blood-getting-move-support/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Infamous 2 and Festival of Blood getting Move support</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/15/infamous-2-and-festival-of-blood-getting-move-support/">Infamous 2 and Festival of Blood getting Move support</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 15 Sep 2011 23:08:00 EST. The <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/littlebigplanet-2"><em>LittleBigPlanet 2</em></a> Move Pack DLC (which is suitably, adorably subtitled <em>Rise of the Cakeling</em>) is the franchise's most gargantuan expansion, and could make a run for the most ambitious DLC release for any game ever released. Just as the core game sought to allow the use of a DualShock 3 for virtually any purpose, this expansion hopes to give players the same freedom with the PlayStation Move.<br />
<br />
Media Molecule was successful in achieving that initial, lofty goal -- and once again, the Guildford-based studio has created an engine of infinite possibility for the Move controller. Any function you could devise for the remote is within reach, provided you've got the patience and cleverness to figure out how to invent it.<br />

	<small>That's right. <i>Grease 2.</i> That's how we roll.</small></center>
<br />
We love making game recommendations to our friends and family, but we've been struggling recently. Specifically, we've been utterly stumped whenever someone tells us they don't know which Kinect or PlayStation Move game to buy for the worst person they know.<br />
<br />
"I have to buy them a gift, Joystiq," they'll plead, "but they're literally just the most vile creature. They smell like cat food and their favorite movie is <em>Ghost of Girlfriends Past</em> and when I ask their favorite actor, they say 'Borat.' I just hate them."<br />
<br />
So, in a way, we owe a debt to 505 Games, which is releasing <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/grease"><em>Grease</em></a>, a singing and dancing game for Kinect and PlayStation Move, on November 4. Finally, we know the perfect video game gift for <em>anybody</em> on your shopping list, even someone you hate with the white hot intensity of a thousand suns.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/14/grease-coming-to-kinect-and-move/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Grease coming to Kinect and Move</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/14/grease-coming-to-kinect-and-move/">Grease coming to Kinect and Move</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 14 Sep 2011 16:00:00 EST. If you didn't buy all the PlayStation Move hardware yesterday thanks to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/13/playstation-move-peripheral-s-knocked-down-50-while-supplies/">GameStop's 50% off sale</a>, you might be interested in Activision's special Move-only <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/goldeneye-007-reloaded">GoldenEye 007: Reloaded</a></em> bundle, called the "Double 'O' Edition."<br />
<br />
The first 'O' is surely the game, which has unsurprisingly remapped the original Wii controls to the Move. That means the second 'O' must be referring to the bundled hardware, which includes a Move motion controller, the navigation controller, a PlayStation Eye camera, and the SharpShooter peripheral. But there's also a PS3-exclusive downloadable character, Moonraker's Hugo Drax ... is that a third 'O'?<br />
<br />
There's no word on price, but we're going to guess it matches <em>Resistance 3's</em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/06/resistance-3-doomsday-edition-pack-launching-on-september-6-fo/">very similar Doomsday bundle</a> at $150. Depending on your income, that could certainly elicit yet another 'O.'<br />
<br />
You can find any other missing 'O's on November 1, when both the regular edition and the Double 'O' Edition shake up your local supervillain's subterranean shopping fortress.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/goldeneye-007-reloaded-double-o-edition-playstation-3/">GoldenEye 007: Reloaded Double 'O' Edition PlayStation 3</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/goldeneye-007-reloaded-double-o-edition-playstation-3/#4446709"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/goldeneye-007-reloadeddouble-o-edition-bundle3d-box-shot_thumbnail.jpg" alt="GoldenEye 007: Reloaded Double 'O' Edition PS3 Box" title="GoldenEye 007: Reloaded Double 'O' Edition PS3 Box" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/goldeneye-007-reloaded-double-o-edition-playstation-3/#4446710"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/goldeneye-007-reloadedhugo-draxps3-exclusive_thumbnail.jpg" alt="GoldenEye 007: Reloaded - Hugo Drax Bonus Character" title="GoldenEye 007: Reloaded - Hugo Drax Bonus Character" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/goldeneye-007-reloaded-double-o-edition-playstation-3/#4446711"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/goldeneye-007-reloadedmoonraker-laser-pistolps3-exclusive_thumbnail.jpg" alt="GoldenEye 007: Reloaded Double 'O' Edition PS3 Motion Controller" title="GoldenEye 007: Reloaded Double 'O' Edition PS3 Motion Controller" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/14/goldeneye-007-reloaded-gets-special-move-bundle-for-ps3/">GoldenEye 007: Reloaded gets special Move bundle for PS3</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 14 Sep 2011 10:30:00 EST. Delightful platformer <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/max-and-the-magic-marker"><em>Max and the Magic Marker</em></a> is making its way to PSN, decked out in a full 1080p overhaul. Outside of the injection of so many high-def Ps, this latest port will also support the PlayStation Move. It only seems natural in a game about drawin' stuff.<br />
<br />
<em>Max and the Magic Marker</em> is currently slated to launch sometime this fall for $9.99 on US PSN and &euro;9,99 in Europe. There will be a total of 58 different levels to doodle your way through, including unlockable challenges, secrets and rewards. Feel free to hit up the gallery below for some screens -- just try not to doodle all over them. Unlike the game, you can't really erase stuff from your computer monitor.<br />

If that headline caught your attention, we'll assume you've been waiting for just such a deal before dedicating a chunk of your gaming budget to Sony's motion peripheral(s). GameStop is offering 50% off the Move Motion Controller, the Move Navigation Controller, the Move Charging Station, and the Move SharpShooter. That means you can snag the Move/Nav combo for under $50 with shipping, depending on your local tax!<br />
<br />
The discount doesn't seem to apply to in-store pickups, and it's only good until October 2 or "while supplies last." Something tells us the latter will happen before the former, so get clicking. If games are more your thing, GameStop also has about a dozen Move titles on fire sale for $9.99. <p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/13/playstation-move-peripheral-s-knocked-down-50-while-supplies/">PlayStation Move peripheral(s) knocked down 50% 'while supplies last'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 13 Sep 2011 11:09:00 EST. Sony Santa Monica, makers of the <em>God of War</em> series, and Plastic, a Polish demoscene group, are collaborating on a mysterious Move title that features a floating hand getting touchy-feely with statues and trees in a fog-filled forest. The above video shows the hand reverently touching its surroundings, and at the 1:07 mark presents a Move controller in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.<br />

NeoGAF's <a href="http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=30786091&amp;postcount=77">Toppot</a> pointed out the connection to <em>Linger in Shadows</em> developer <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-09-09-ps-move-game-a-sony-santa-monica-title">Plastic</a>, who responded with a teasing affirmative: "We all at Plastic admire the speed and style of NeoGAF member Toppot, who managed to combine the hints and classify us as a developer of next Santa Monica Studio production." The developer hinted that it was "planting the seeds now" for the title, and "encouraged" fans to discover it.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/09/mystery-move-game-in-development-courtesy-of-plastic-and-sony-s/">Mystery Move game in development, courtesy of Plastic and Sony Santa Monica</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 09 Sep 2011 15:00:00 EST. Though the majority of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/littlebigplanet-2"><em>LittleBigPlanet 2</em></a>'s suite of PlayStation Move-enabled features won't go live until next week's release of the Move Pack, a handful of additions have arrived in the game as part of <a href="http://www.vg247.com/2011/09/07/lbp2-update-1-06-live-contains-move-support/">update 1.06</a>. These include the integration of some new sensors for building, an option to limit the maximum number of players on your homebrewed level, and the ability to control the basic game with a Move controller.<br />
<br />
Don't get it twisted: If you want the new Move-centric story levels, the Brain Crane tool and the other features based around Sony's motion controller, you'll have to grab the Move Pack next week. Based on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/16/littlebigplanet-2-move-dlc-preview-infinity-times-two/">our E3 preview</a> of the ambitious DLC, we're guessing it's going to be worth it.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/08/littlebigplanet-2-1-06-now-live-move-support-added/">LittleBigPlanet 2 1.06 now live, Move support added</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 08 Sep 2011 15:00:00 EST. We kinda get why <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/24/extended-cut-content-keeping-house-of-the-dead-out-of-australi/">the game's been banned</a> in Australia now -- the near-nude, skinless zombies are <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/screenshots/the-house-of-the-dead-overkill-extended-cut-8-31-11#/3">tough to look at</a>. Good thing we'll get to shoot them right off the screen!<br />

Sega's revealed the second location for the <em>Extended Cut</em> bonus chapters in <em>House of the Dead: Overkill Extended Cut</em>, dubbed "Creeping Flesh" (the first was "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/02/house-of-the-dead-overkill-naked-terror-screens-are-fortunate/">Naked Terror</a>"). Side story protags Candy and Varla must shoot their way through a slaughterhouse that has been taken over by "a meaty disease of sorts," Sega's David Bruno revealed in a post on <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/08/30/house-of-the-dead-overkill-extended-cut-creeping-flesh-level-reveal/">the PlayStation Blog</a>. There's also a boss with a giant meat cleaver named Meat Katie, who's half Katie, half cow. We're having a hard time seeing the cow in the image above.<br />

If you want to play <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/gal-gun"><em>Gal Gun</em></a>, Inti Creates' light gun game about shooting pheromones at crazed high school girls -- and we're not judging -- it's about to get easier to do so. This winter, according to a report from Famitsu, publisher Alchemist will release a PS3 port of the formerly Xbox 360 exclusive game. PS3 games are region free, so it's no problem to play it on your system!<br />
<br />
In addition to that perk, the PS3 release will have improved visuals, a new character, a new gameplay mode, and -- most importantly -- PlayStation Move support. The downside there is that you'll be waving a glowing ball around, making it even easier for others to notice you playing <em>Gal Gun</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/31/move-enhanced-gal-gun-ready-to-humiliate-ps3-owners/">Move-enhanced Gal Gun ready to humiliate PS3 owners</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 31 Aug 2011 21:00:00 EST. One of my biggest surprises during PAX Prime 2011 was a game I almost decided not to play.<br />
<br />
Time is limited at these events, so when I was presented with a swath of choices at Sony's corner of the show at the nearby Grand Hyatt, I had to be shrewd. <em>Starhawk</em>? Sure! <em>Journey</em>! You bet. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/medieval-moves-deadmunds-quest"><em>Medieval Moves: Deadmund's Quest</em></a>? Ehh ...<br />
<br />
Boy, am I glad I took a chance on this one, because slashing, guarding and shooting as the diminutive skeleton was some of the most fun I had all weekend.<br />

Yesterday, we postulated that the extra content in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/the-house-of-the-dead-overkill"><em>House of the Dead: Overkill Extended Cut</em></a> could be the reason the game was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/23/house-of-the-dead-overkill-extended-cut-refused-classification/">refused classification in Australia</a>. It turns out that's exactly what happened, according to a Classification Board decision report obtained by Joystiq.<br />
<br />
The report specifically cites the new Hardcore mode contained in <em>Extended Cut</em>, which requires players to make headshots and evidently ratchets the violence into territory that is "unsuitable for a minor to see or play." The report also mentions Extra Mutants mode which is ... well, it's pretty self-explanatory. Somewhat puzzling, however, is the fact that Extra Mutants mode was also available in the original Wii version of the game.<br />
<br />
The Board concludes that "the additional modes included in this modified version and the interactive nature of the game increases the overall impact of the frequent and intense depictions of violence." So there you have it: Classification refused.<br />
<br />
Joystiq has yet to receive comment on the matter from Sega, the game's publisher.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/24/extended-cut-content-keeping-house-of-the-dead-out-of-australi/">'Extended Cut' content keeping House of the Dead out of Australia</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 24 Aug 2011 13:55:00 EST. The new content in the "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/the-house-of-the-dead-overkill-extended-cut">Extended Cut</a>" of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/the-house-of-the-dead-overkill"><em>The House of the Dead: Overkill</em></a> has resulted in the game itself being cut from Australian release. The Classification Board has refused classification of the PS3 update of the Wii game. The <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/10/australia-finally-getting-its-r18-rating/">R18 rating</a> has yet to go into effect, meaning that material considered too "adult" is still refused classification.<br />
<br />
The original potty-mouthed zombie shooting game was released in Australia in 2009, though there was some <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/19/house-of-the-dead-overkill-stirs-up-trouble-down-under/">controversy</a> at the time about the rating lacking notification about the vast, prolific use of profane language. Perhaps, then, it's not that this version is much more objectionable -- it could just be that the board wasn't paying close enough attention the last time.<br />
<br />
We've contacted both Sega and the Classification Board to learn more about the (expletive) situation.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/23/house-of-the-dead-overkill-extended-cut-refused-classification/">House of the Dead Overkill 'Extended Cut' refused classification in Australia</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 23 Aug 2011 22:30:00 EST. <em>Ninja Gaiden 3</em>'s obsession with conveying the feel of a katana -- while it slices the flesh off a man's bones -- is now supplemented with another vicarious attack. What does it feel like when a glowing, squishy ball bounces off a skull?<br />
<br />
Team Ninja has announced PlayStation Move support for the PS3 version of <em>Ninja Gaiden 3</em>, presumably enabling spirited swings and forceful bops in your offensive arsenal. Studio lead Yosuke Hayashi claims that it will "bring players even closer to the game's protagonist Ryu Hayabusa," which is a particularly unfortunate occurrence if you also happen to be a generic soldier, a demon, an <em>evil</em> ninja or ... anything that's alive, really.<br />
<br />
<em>Ninja Gaiden 3</em> is set to slice up PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners in early 2012. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/16/move-fitness-announced-for-playstation-move/"><em>Move Fitness</em></a> isn't the only PlayStation Move title revealed by Sony at <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/gamescom-2011">Gamescom</a>. The company also announced several other Move projects and they all seem a little ... <em>familiar</em>. The first, <em>Start the Party: Save the World</em>, is ... a mini-game collection. Next up is a game by the name of <em>DanceStar Party</em>, the trailer for which seems to feature a lot of people <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/just-dance"><em>just dancing</em></a>. Finally, we have <em>Move Mind Benders</em>, which bundles together several puzzle games already available on PSN, including <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/tumble"><em>Tumble</em></a>, <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/echochrome-2"><em>Echochrome 2</em></a> and <em>Lemmings</em>.<br />
<br />
It's worth noting that the PSN version of <em>Lemmings</em> does not currently support the Move. Whether Move functionality will be exclusive to the <em>Mind Benders</em> version remains to be seen. A trailer for Start the Party is embedded above. Check out <em>DanceStar Party</em> and <em>Move Mind Benders</em> trailers after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/17/new-playstation-move-lineup-includes-dancing-mini-games-and-bra/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>New PlayStation Move lineup includes dancing, mini-games and brain twisters</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/17/new-playstation-move-lineup-includes-dancing-mini-games-and-bra/">New PlayStation Move lineup includes dancing, mini-games and brain twisters</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 17 Aug 2011 00:50:00 EST. Sony's entering the exergaming arena, as the publisher announced <em>Move Fitness</em> during <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/16/sonys-gamescom-keynote-still-live-from-germany/">its Gamescom keynote</a>. A brief teaser trailer shown to attendees offered some insight into what the final package may offer: Move-based mini-games and exercise. Add a dash of <em>Fruit Ninja</em>, a pinch of <em>Your Shape: Fitness Evolved</em> and a hearty helping of <em>Wii Fit</em> and you've got <em>Move Fitness</em> -- at least, that's what it looked like in the trailer, according to our boys on the ground.<br />
<br />
No other details were offered. We'll track down the teaser trailer and post it up as soon as we can.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/16/move-fitness-announced-for-playstation-move/">Move Fitness announced for PlayStation Move (update: trailer)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 16 Aug 2011 14:10:00 EST. We'll admit we initially felt a little bad for PS3 owners who have to wait yet another week for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/child-of-eden"><em>Child of Eden</em></a> (it's been delayed <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/18/child-of-eden-dated-priced-for-ps3/">from Sept. 20</a> to Sept. 27). But all that evaporated when we saw in an <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/Ubisoft/status/101940960501579778">Ubisoft tweet</a> that the game would feature not only <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/21/child-of-eden-pushed-back-to-september-on-ps3-will-support-move/">Move controls</a> but full 3D support.<br />
<br />
Not only will PS3 <em>CoE</em> players be controlling infinitely powerful galactic forces in a staggeringly beautiful tapestry of sights and sounds, but they'll be <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLVZAoQB2fI">doing it in 3D</a>! You know, we <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/17/soulja-boy-tells-em-about-braid/">scoffed last time</a>, but when Soulja Boy tells us that <em>Child of Eden</em> on the PS3 is for people that drink and get drunk or people who smoke and get high ... well, he'll be right.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/12/child-of-eden-ps3-delayed-a-week-getting-3d-support/">Child of Eden PS3 delayed a week, getting 3D support</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 12 Aug 2011 10:45:00 EST. "Finally," thought the Tecmo Koei Europe rep. "<em>Champion Jockey: G1 Jockey &amp; Gallop Racer</em> for Kinect and Move will allow me to put my pantomime horse racing skills to use." He'd spent his life practicing pantomime horse racing, and wondering why he had. Now it was paying off.<br />

Two more videos after the break show his supreme confidence and effortless proficiency at bouncing with his hands held out. There's also a Wii version, but there is unfortunately no video demonstration of its gameplay, leaving us only to imagine the smirk for ourselves.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/09/heres-how-you-play-champion-jockey-for-kinect-and-move/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Here's how you play 'Champion Jockey' for Kinect and Move</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/09/heres-how-you-play-champion-jockey-for-kinect-and-move/">Here's how you play 'Champion Jockey' for Kinect and Move</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 09 Aug 2011 13:00:00 EST. We were a little ... unsettled by the revelation that one of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/the-house-of-the-dead-overkill-extended-cut"><em>House of the Dead: Overkill Extended Cut</em></a>'s new levels, "Naked Terror," had a high likelihood of zombie nudity. Fortunately, the first batch of screens for the stage features only tasteful, partial zombie nudity. Which is still <em>kind of rough</em>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/02/house-of-the-dead-overkill-naked-terror-screens-are-fortunate/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>House of the Dead: Overkill 'Naked Terror' screens are fortunately clothed</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/02/house-of-the-dead-overkill-naked-terror-screens-are-fortunate/">House of the Dead: Overkill 'Naked Terror' screens are fortunately clothed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 02 Aug 2011 16:10:00 EST. The Move.Me application development tool <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/03/move-me-invites-everyone-to-develop-for-playstation-move/">announced by Sony</a> earlier this year has launched, giving anyone who possesses the sphere-tipped controller and a dream in their heart the ability to make their own motion-controlled programs. Check out <a href="http://www.viddler.com/sceablog/videos/1989/">the trailer</a> on PlayStation Blog to get a look at some of the tools' capabilities, including a mathematical teaching regimen and a physical therapy aide.<br />

Teachers and students can enroll in Sony's Academia Program to receive a free copy of the software, but everyone else will have to pony up $99.99 when the software hits the PlayStation Store later today.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/26/move-me-now-available-free-for-teachers-students/">Move.Me now available, free for teachers/students</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 26 Jul 2011 22:30:00 EST. Sega posted a bit of an infodump to the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/07/14/the-house-of-the-dead-overkill-hunt-mutants-with-playstation-move-in-3d/">PlayStation Blog</a> about the upcoming 3D, HD <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/27/the-house-of-the-dead-overkill-extended-cut-brings-3d-cussin-t/"><em>House of the Dead: Overkill</em></a> port. The changes go beyond the graphics and the relative glowiness of the controller -- there's actually a list of alterations made to the "extended cut."<br />
<br />
Those changes include two new levels not found on Wii, a "new baby mutant type" and a new crossbow weapon. In addition, all of the boss fights have been "improved," and the "Mother" boss fight has been extended. Even the cutscenes have been redone with new motion capture.<br />
<br />
There are also a couple of new modes: "Hardcore Mode," which forces you to perform headshots to kill enemies, and "Classic Mode," which gives you only the AMS Magnum. <em>Overkill's</em> Extended Cut will reach into retail in North America on October 25.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/14/whats-been-extended-in-house-of-the-dead-overkills-extended-cu/">What's been extended in House of the Dead Overkill's Extended Cut</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 14 Jul 2011 17:30:00 EST. In a recent IGN interview, Irrational Games creative director Ken Levine discussed how he made <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/08/bioshock-infinite-footage/">that demo</a> for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/bioshock-infinite"><em>BioShock Infinite</em></a> so<em> very, very good</em>. Of course, we all know the answer to that is "witchcraft" -- however, Levine also talked about the game's Move functionality, a feature first <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/06/bioshock-infinite-features-move-functionality/">announced at E3</a>. He explains it will be entirely optional to the experience, saying, "my hope is that we'll succeed in the experiment and people will like it. But if they don't like it, they'll never know it's there. And that's cool."<br />
<br />
As for the franchise's future, Levine reiterated that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/06/bioshock-universe-game-coming-to-ngp/">the <em>BioShock</em> title</a> planned for the Vita will be "a new game," which is going to be "strange and surprising to people." As for E3's other hot-ticket piece of hardware, the Wii U, Levine explained, "I'm not saying it can't happen, but we have no plans to do any games for that platform." That's a shame -- we bet that tiny screen would be perfect for an upsettingly visceral EVE Hypo-injecting metagame.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/12/levine-talks-bioshock-infinites-move-functionality-no-plans-fo/">Levine talks BioShock Infinite's Move functionality, no plans for Wii U</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 12 Jul 2011 22:00:00 EST. If you don't have a PlayStation Move yet, but desire one primarily for its function as a semi-imaginary golf club, good news! Sony is offering a bundle with a Move wand, a PlayStation Eye, and a copy of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/tiger-woods-pga-tour-12-the-masters"><em>Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters</em></a>. It'll be out next week for $99.99.<br />
<br />
The bundle of a popular Move-enhanced sports game and the hardware seems pretty natural to us, but the timing of this bundle is somewhat less natural: <em>Tiger Woods 12</em> actually came out in March. We're not used to seeing new hardware bundles for random already-released games. Perhaps this one got stuck in a sand trap, much like this post has become mired in a forced golf metaphor.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/08/tiger-woods-makes-a-gradual-move-into-a-hardware-bundle/">Tiger Woods makes a gradual Move into a hardware bundle</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 08 Jul 2011 15:55:00 EST. Say you're interested in <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/no-more-heroes-heroes-paradise"><em>No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise</em></a>, but you have <em>no imagination</em>. How best to communicate the Move controls to you? Japanese publisher Marvelous has figured it out, by having someone dressed as Travis Touchdown demonstrate the game using the PS3 motion controller.<br />
<br />
That way, you won't be confused at all about what motions to perform, and whom you'll be manipulating when you make those motions! Just for reference, we're reasonably certain the controls work even if you aren't wearing a Travis Touchdown costume. You won't have to worry about that until a Kinect version of <em>No More Heroes</em> comes along.<br />
<br />
Warning: he goes through most of the second assassination, so if you'd consider that a spoiler, don't watch.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/27/let-travis-touchdown-show-you-how-to-play-no-more-heroes-with-mo/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Let Travis Touchdown show you how to play No More Heroes with Move</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/27/let-travis-touchdown-show-you-how-to-play-no-more-heroes-with-mo/">Let Travis Touchdown show you how to play No More Heroes with Move</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 27 Jun 2011 20:30:00 EST. How can apes be so unimprisonable? It's a question for the ages, obviously, and a premise that's fueled countless games in the beloved Ape Escape series. The latest game, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/playstation-move-ape-escape"><em>PlayStation Move Ape Escape</em></a> (guess which peripheral it uses?), has been confirmed for PSN with a July 5 release date in the US -- it's already available in Europe -- and a demo will precede the full game on Tuesday, June 28, if you're into that whole try-before-you-buy thing. Us, we're more the impulse purchasing type.<br />

If you just paid attention to the marketing for <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/child-of-eden"><em>Child of Eden</em></a>, you'd think it was an Xbox 360 exclusive. But there's totally a PS3 version <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/21/child-of-eden-pushed-back-to-september-on-ps3-will-support-move/">coming out in September</a>. According to Q? Entertainment producer James Mielke, the delay had nothing to do with Microsoft moneyhats, and everything to do with the fact that Q? is making each version on its own, with a staff of about 30 people.<br />
<br />
"We're doing everything in-house, we're not farming anything out," he told the <a href="http://www.1up.com/do/minisite?cId=3181465">8-4 Play podcast</a>. Mielke didn't outright confirm any special features in the PS3 version, but said "it will definitely be worth the couple months that people have to wait for the PS3 version to get finished. People with PS3s, people with nice TVs, people with all kinds of control options... it's going to be really cool."<br />
<br />
The reference to fancy TVs suggests 3D support, and "control options" would suggest Move support -- something that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/21/child-of-eden-pushed-back-to-september-on-ps3-will-support-move/">Ubisoft has told us</a> to expect.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/23/child-of-eden-on-ps3-will-have-really-cool-extras/">Child of Eden on PS3 will have 'really cool' extras</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 23 Jun 2011 14:15:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/littlebigplanet-2"><em>LittleBigPlanet 2</em></a>'s upcoming, Move-integrated expansion can't really be classified as anything other than relentless. When Media Molecule launched the game this past January, the possibilities for prospective creator-curators were limitless -- as evidenced by the community's daily discoveries of new ways to use the core game's toolset. When the Move DLC launches this September, it's going to push the still-not-reached boundaries back even further.<br />
<br />
During a demo led by Media Molecule's James Spafford and Christophe Villedieu, I learned that the studio's ambitions for the expansion are as straightforward as they are lofty. By adding a suite of Move-based controls to the Create tools catalog, Media Molecule hopes to give players the opportunity and the inspiration to use the orb-tipped peripheral in ways that so-called "professional" developers haven't even considered yet.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-2-e3-2010/">LittleBigPlanet 2 (E3 2010)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-2-e3-2010/#3089075"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/06/lbp2---top-down-shooter2-_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-2-e3-2010/#3089076"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/06/lbp2---top-down-shooter1-_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-2-e3-2010/#3089077"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/06/lbp2---rts2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-2-e3-2010/#3089078"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/06/lbp2---rts1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/littlebigplanet-2-e3-2010/#3089079"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/06/lbp2---racing-rats2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/16/littlebigplanet-2-move-dlc-preview-infinity-times-two/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>LittleBigPlanet 2 Move DLC preview: Infinity times two</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/16/littlebigplanet-2-move-dlc-preview-infinity-times-two/">LittleBigPlanet 2 Move DLC preview: Infinity times two</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 16 Jun 2011 08:45:00 EST. The half-hour long uninterrupted <em>PixelJunk lifelike</em> preview shown to E3 attendees was prefaced with virtually no introduction or explanation, save for Q-Games founder Dylan Cuthbert explaining to the crowd that the game which was about to be demonstrated is not a game, so that we logically shouldn't expect any gameplay.<br />
<br />
He also added -- before handing the reins to <em>PixelJunk Eden</em> composer Baiyon -- that the studio's unique music generator/visualizer could only be understood by seeing it in action. However, if there was any elucidation to be gained by the bewildering, psychedelic 30 minutes which followed, it sailed far, far over my head.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/08/pixeljunk-lifelike-preview-mad-maestro/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>PixelJunk lifelike preview: Mad Maestro</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/08/pixeljunk-lifelike-preview-mad-maestro/">PixelJunk lifelike preview: Mad Maestro</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 08 Jun 2011 14:20:00 EST. This is totally blowing our minds. So Sony has an existing franchise called <em>MediEvil</em>, that is totally about a skeleton guy with swords and stuff. But the new PlayStation Move game it announced for PS3, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/06/medieval-moves-deadmunds-quest-revealed-for-playstation/">Medieval Moves: Deadmund's Quest</a></em>, which has the word "medieval" in the title and is totally about skeleton people, isn't a MediEvil spinoff.<br />
<br />
It's a <em>Sports Champions</em> spinoff.<br />
<br />
Emperor Morgrimm, the antagonist in this game, was a secret unlockable character in the Move minigame collection. The common thread is developer Zindagi Games, who is responsible for both games.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/07/medieval-moves-deadmunds-quests-unexpected-history/">Medieval Moves: Deadmund's Quest's unexpected history</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 07 Jun 2011 07:45:00 EST. So close, and yet -- no! Just close. Very close to achieving a rare E3 prediction Bingo, as seen in the marked-out card above. There was certainly no shortage of news between the pricing and naming of the PS Vita and a metric ton of Uncharted demos -- but man, if we'd gotten a new PS3 bundle, we would have been <em>made in the shade</em>.
