At least $41,983 - that's how much developer ReduxGame has raised on Kickstarter for the Dreamcast (and iOS/PC) shooter <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/10/kickstart-steam-xbla-psn-shmup-redux-to-get-a-dreamcast-version/"><em>Redux: Dark Matters</em></a>. The team crossed the $40,000 goal for its drive, making it one of only two console game projects to succeed on the platform (the other is <a href="http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/698159145/atari-2600-star-castle"><em>Star Castle</em></a> for Atari 2600) and prompting the team to make additional goals, like two-player support and a new stage for $60K worth of backing.<br /><br />According to an email we received from the team, the plans for platforms have been altered since we last reported on this labor of love. "Sega Dreamcast, iOS and STEAM/PC are already set in stone and will be released this year, the team notes, and it is "actively working" to get <em>Redux</em> on PSN, XBLA, Vita, and 3DS.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/31/indie-shmup-redux-succeeds-on-kickstarter-adds-plans-for-vita-a/">Indie shmup Redux succeeds on Kickstarter, adds plans for Vita and 3DS</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 31 May 2012 22:00:00 EST. Speaking with <a href="http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/05/31/e3-2012-ea-confirms-dead-space-3">IGN</a>, EA said next week's big event will feature the first footage of the action-horror title.<br /><br /><em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Dead-Space-3/">Dead Space 3</a></em> footage is expected to debut during EA's press conference on Monday, June 4 at 1:00pm PDT.<br /><br />Other than "it's happening, we're showing it to you soon," there isn't much in the way of details for the upcoming title. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/31/dead-space-3-images-leak-feature-other-dude/">Leaked images</a> from earlier today feature what could be two main characters. According to the page (which has been replaced, screenshot above), "E3 begins on GTTV with the <em>Star Wars 1313</em> announcement and new trailers from <em>Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance</em>, <em>Tomb Raider</em>, <em>Guardians of Middle-Earth</em>, <em>Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2</em>, and <em>Dishonored</em>."<br /><br />Most of those we already knew would be getting some coverage at the show next week, but two of those titles are new to our ears: <em>Star Wars 1313</em>, and <em>Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2</em>.<br /><br /><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/star-wars-1313"><em>Star Wars 1313</em></a> is a trademark that's been <a href="http://www.theforce.net/latestnews/story/Star_Wars_1313_145414.asp">bouncing around at LucasFilm</a> for a while, but there's been no official word on just what it might be yet. In the Expanded Universe, Boba Fett <a href="http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/CT-1313">once used the alias "CT-1313,"</a> so the best guess is that it's a new franchise based around Fett's story in some way. <a href="http://StarWars1313.com">StarWars1313.com</a> has also been registered by LucasArts, and currently redirects to the main Star Wars site.<br /><br />And <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/castlevania-lords-of-shadow-2"><em>Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2</em></a> is clearly a sequel to the 2010 title that's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/02/castlevania-lords-of-shadow-producer-teasing-new-game-namedrop/">hardly a big surprise</a> to finally hear about. But it's not any less exciting to see these two big names revealed by GTTV's mistake. We'll obviously find out more about both of these when the official announcements are made.<br /><br />[Thanks, Jonas]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/31/star-wars-1313-castlevania-lords-of-shadow-2-titles-leaked-ahe/">Star Wars 1313, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 titles leaked ahead of E3 announcements</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 31 May 2012 20:55:00 EST. When it comes time for the sizzle reels and the assurances of publisher support, watch closely. For Japanese RPG developers, the time is now to make a splash.<br /><br />By any measure, Japanese-developed RPGs play an important role on mobile devices dedicated to gaming. It's not just that <em>Monster Hunter</em> dominated the PSP. Many of the best Japanese-developed RPGs of the past few years, <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/the-world-ends-with-you"><em>The World Ends With You</em></a> and <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/dragon-quest-9"><em>Dragon Quest IX</em></a> among them, have been handheld. Beiswenger <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/18/ubisoft-gametrailers-sued-in-assassins-creed-copyright-infring/">first sued</a> Ubisoft in April, but <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/29/lawsuit-alleging-copyright-infringement-in-assassins-creed-drop/">dropped the lawsuit</a> earlier this week because he couldn't handle the expense of litigation.<br /><br />Beiswenger dismissed the Ubisoft case "without prejudice," meaning he can pick up the charges and pursue litigation at any time, and Ubisoft is looking to have the case found "frivolous and without merit," Gamasutra reports.<br /><br />Ubisoft's complaint argues that Beiswenger's claims of copyright infringement are based on "patently non-copyrightable elements." His claims include "assassins" and "spiritual and biblical tones."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/31/ubisoft-on-offense-in-novelist-lawsuit-files-to-throw-out-claim/">Ubisoft on offense in novelist lawsuit, files to throw out claims</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 31 May 2012 19:30:00 EST. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios have just unveiled <em>Injustice: Gods Among Us</em>, which is a superhero fighting game set in the DC Universe. Based on the <a href="http://www.gamespot.com/injustice-gods-among-us/videos/injustice-gods-among-us-announcement-trailer-6379451/?tag=Topslot;InjusticeGodsAmongUs;TrailerFirstLookAtT">debut trailer</a> above, it appears as though something has turned the Earth's greatest heroes into the Earth's deadliest villains, who are now pitted against each other in mortal combat.<br /><br />Spotted characters include Batman, Superman, the Flash, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn (!!), Lex Luthor and Solomon Grundy, all of whom seem capable of delivering incredible amounts of damage to one another. Injustice: Gods Among Us will launch for on the PS3, 360 and Wii U sometime in 2013.<br /><br /><strong>Update</strong>: <em>Injustice</em>'s character roster is split into two categories: "Power" characters like Superman and Wonder Woman, and "Gadget" characters like the Batman and (presumably) Harley Quinn. Depending on a character's class, they'll be able to interact with the environment in different ways. Batman may be able to slam Wonder Woman's head into a parked car, for instance, while Wonder Woman is able to slam a parked car into Batman's head.<br /><br />Environmental hazards are set to play a major role in the game, adding a bonus level of strategy to each character match-up, according to <a href="http://www.gamespot.com/injustice-gods-among-us/videos/injustice-gods-among-us-interview-w-ed-boon-6379456/?tag=Topslot;InjusticeGodsAmongUs;InterviewEdBoonTalks">this video interview</a> with NetherRealm's Ed Boon: "You're really going to want to care where you are, in which background, with which character."<br /><br />Additionally, the debut trailer clearly shows the Flash narrowly avoiding a massive icicle, which may be a strong indicator of the presence of either <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_Cold">Captain Cold</a> or Mr. Freeze. <em>Injustice</em> will have "at least as many" fighters as <em>Mortal Kombat</em>, according to <a href="http://www.gamespot.com/injustice-gods-among-us/previews/batman-vs-superman-who-wins-6379457/?tag=Topslot;InjusticeGodsAmongUs;PreviewBatmanVsSupe">Gamespot</a>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/31/warner-bros-announces-injustice-gods-among-us-a-new-dc-fighti/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Warner Bros. announces Injustice: Gods Among Us, a new DC fighting game from NetherRealm [Update!]</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/31/warner-bros-announces-injustice-gods-among-us-a-new-dc-fighti/">Warner Bros. announces Injustice: Gods Among Us, a new DC fighting game from NetherRealm [Update!]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 31 May 2012 10:22:00 EST. Sony also promises tweaks like simpler calibration, more opportunities to customize your avatar, and multiple user profiles.<br /><br />The new "Party Play" mode lets users set playlists of matches, then compete for score. "You can create your own match playlist, see photos and voices from each player during the game, and draw something humiliating (or nice!) on the hapless loser," says producer Jeremy Ray. He probably means in the game. You <em>always</em> had the option of drawing on your friends.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/31/sports-champions-2-takes-a-victory-lap-on-ps-move-this-fall/">Sports Champions 2 takes a victory lap on PS Move this fall</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 31 May 2012 10:00:00 EST. The screens hint at co-op gameplay for the latest installment in the blue-spine tingling thriller series.<br /><br />Playing into the authenticity of the screens is that they appear to feature Earthgov Sergeant John Carver, recently introduced in the "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/30/new-dead-space-video-pops-up-signs-point-to-dead-space-3/">Dead Space Graphic Novel Short</a>."<br /><br />EA's E3 press conference is scheduled for 1PM Pacific on Monday, June 4. Now though, since Zipper Interactive <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/30/sony-confirms-zipper-interactive-closure/">doesn't exist anymore</a> and everything, the servers for four PS2 SOCOM games and four PSP SOCOM titles will be taken offline at the end of August.<br /><br />PlayStation 2 SOCOMs<i> I, II, </i>and<i> III</i> (as well as <em>SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Combined Assault</em>) will be going dark, as will the PSP various SOCOM titles, <em>Fireteam Bravo</em> (<em>I</em>, <em>II</em> and <em>III</em>) and <em>SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Tactical Strke</em>.<br /><br />If this outage affects your regular gaming routine, we offer our most sincere condolences. Also, we'd like to point out that many thousands of games have been released since 2002, some of which you might enjoy. Perhaps this will be a good opportunity to go check some of 'em out? <p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/30/ps2-and-psp-socom-servers-shutting-down-at-the-end-of-august/">PS2 and PSP SOCOM servers shutting down at the end of August</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 30 May 2012 23:59:00 EST. Seriously, we've written this piece, like, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/04/no-doubt-suing-activision-for-band-hero-circus-act-appearance/">three</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/16/activision-fails-to-have-no-doubt-lawsuit-dismissed/">times</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/18/no-doubts-activision-lawsuit-can-go-to-the-next-level/">already</a>. This story is bananas.<br /><br /><em>Sorry.</em><br /><br />No Doubt, the rock band led by singer Gwen Stefani, sued Activision in 2009, claiming it was used to create a "virtual karaoke circus act;" No Doubt says it only signed off on having its likeness portrayed singing its own songs, but the band is unlockable to play through the game's complete catalog.<br /><br />A Superior Court judge has denied Activision's attempt to dismiss claims from the case, including fraud, violation of publicity rights and breach of contract, and it is expected to (finally) go to trial later this year. Activision says it has a video recording of No Doubt being told about the unlockable features and it is looking forward to presenting its defense.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/30/no-doubt-vs-activision-lawsuit-cleared-for-trial-later-this-year/">No Doubt vs Activision lawsuit cleared for trial later this year</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 30 May 2012 23:00:00 EST. Players will recruit and grow their Royal Guard from their own kingdom, and then basically throw all those people at enemies.<br /><br />We might admit to being a bit ... cautious ... about the new art style and loss of Kimura's guidance, but at least with this announcement, we'll have the opportunity to judge for ourselves.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/new-little-king-s-story-vita/">New Little King’s Story (Vita)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/new-little-king-s-story-vita/#5054347"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/nlks01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/new-little-king-s-story-vita/#5054348"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/nlks02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/new-little-king-s-story-vita/#5054349"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/nlks03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/new-little-king-s-story-vita/#5054350"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/nlks04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/new-little-king-s-story-vita/#5054351"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/nlks05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/30/new-little-kings-story-graces-vita-in-north-america-this-summer/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>New Little King's Story graces Vita in North America this summer</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/30/new-little-kings-story-graces-vita-in-north-america-this-summer/">New Little King's Story graces Vita in North America this summer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 30 May 2012 17:30:00 EST. It's in development at TT Fusion, which was previously Embryonic Studios, a smattering of key staff from Gizmondo - who made <em>the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/gizmondo/">Gizmondo</a></em> - and Warthog, a UK studio who has done a lot of licensed titles. TT Games snatched up the studio in 2006 before being <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/08/warner-bros-buys-tt-games/">bought</a> by Warner Bros. a year later.<br /><br />This <em>Spy Hunter</em> reboot will be available this fall, and ... well, it's <em>Spy Hunter</em>. You drive a transforming car to take down evil dudes. This latest installment adds an aerial support drone and will let users customize the Interceptor (the official ride of spies everywhere) through tech and weapon upgrades. The car is also red now, which seems like the worst color for a spy car but that's just our two cents.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/spy-hunter-vita-3ds/">Spy Hunter (Vita/3DS)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/spy-hunter-vita-3ds/#5054644"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/spyhunter01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/spy-hunter-vita-3ds/#5054645"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/spyhunter02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/30/spy-hunter-races-to-3ds-and-ps-vita-this-fall/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Spy Hunter races to 3DS and PS Vita this fall</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/30/spy-hunter-races-to-3ds-and-ps-vita-this-fall/">Spy Hunter races to 3DS and PS Vita this fall</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 30 May 2012 17:00:00 EST. "Four-point holds work really well for game balance, but I was worried that beginners couldn't pull off mid kick holds," Shimbori tweeted. "But all of the feedback we got from players with the Alpha Demo gave me the final nudge to go with four-point."<br /><br />The demo in question, distributed as a pre-order bonus and included in collector's editions of <em>Ninja Gaiden 3</em>, used a three-point grab system similar to <em>Dead or Alive 3</em>'s. It's nice to know that Team Ninja still has time to think about <em>DoA5</em>'s design from a balancing standpoint in between implementing costume-specific breast physics and integrating helicopter missiles into gameplay.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/30/dead-or-alive-5-to-use-a-doa4-style-four-point-hold-system/">Dead or Alive 5 to use a DOA4-style four-point hold system</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 30 May 2012 15:00:00 EST. The publisher plans to release a demo of the game prior to takeoff.<br /><br />The game is the digital version of <em><a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Combat-Wings-GBWWII/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d802435907d2">Combat Wings: The Great Battles of World War II</a>, </em>which was formerly intended to be a retail product. The name change must have been done recently, since just a few weeks ago the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/08/rumor-combat-wings-landing-on-xbla/">XBLA marketplace leaked the game with a different title</a>.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dogfight-1942/">Dogfight 1942</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dogfight-1942/#5053955"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/dogfight19421_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dogfight-1942/#5053956"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/dogfight19422_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/30/dogfight-1942-flies-later-this-year-to-xbla-psn-and-steam/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Dogfight 1942 flies later this year to XBLA, PSN and Steam</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/30/dogfight-1942-flies-later-this-year-to-xbla-psn-and-steam/">Dogfight 1942 flies later this year to XBLA, PSN and Steam</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 30 May 2012 13:00:00 EST. Insomniac head (and general nice dude) Ted Price took to the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/05/30/ratchet-clank-full-frontal-assault-coming-to-psn-this-fall/">US PlayStation Blog</a> this afternoon to announce "Ratchet &amp; Clank: Full Frontal Assault" for PlayStation Network, alongside plans to launch the game "this holiday season."<br /><br />Aside from the artwork you see above and the logo we've dropped in the gallery below, Price offered few details on the game. He said it'll be a "fun-sized" R&amp;C title (like <em>Ratchet &amp; Clank Future: Quest for Booty</em> before it), and that the game will return to "the series' classic feel, camera, controls, and weapons, while innovating and giving you a whole new way to play." What that <em>means</em> is another question altogether. Price also said that the game will feature online co-op, but kept details similarly slim.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ratchet-and-clank-full-frontal-assault/">Ratchet &amp; Clank: Full Frontal Assault</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ratchet-and-clank-full-frontal-assault/#5054184"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/ratchetclankfa01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ratchet-and-clank-full-frontal-assault/#5054185"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/ratchetclankfalogo_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/30/ratchet-and-clank-full-frontal-assault-is-insomniacs-next-psn-ga/">Ratchet &amp; Clank: Full Frontal Assault is Insomniac's next PSN game, arriving this fall</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 30 May 2012 12:30:00 EST. The service apparently costs $50 one time and includes a variety of content, including access to the five released and upcoming <em>Battlefield 3</em> expansion packs, two weeks of early access to said packs, and "a host of unique in-game items not available anywhere else."<br /><br />That, however, is where the "interesting" part of this ends, and the "pretty gross" part begins. Beyond the DLC access, Premium members are said to get "access to powerful new features." What features might those be? "The ability to reset stats" is listed, but so is "queue priority into servers," which means exactly what it sounds like. As in, "pay for this service and get into servers faster than the rabble."<br /><br />The fact sheet reconfirms what we saw <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/30/battlefield-3-premium-service-dated-for-june-4-alongside-clo/">leak out of the EU PlayStation Blog</a> earlier today - <em>Battlefield 3</em> "Premium" is expected to launch alongside the "Close Quarters" DLC on June 4 across Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. Head past the break to see the full sheet.<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> EA tells Joystiq, "Looks like the excitement for Battlefield Premium cannot be contained. For details, please visit Battlefield.com on June 4." We'd suggest you check out Joystiq.com on June 4 as well. <em>Just a guess</em>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/30/report-battlefield-3-premium-service-costs-50-one-time-incl/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Report: Battlefield 3 'Premium' service costs $50 one time, includes 'all five themed expansion packs'</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/30/report-battlefield-3-premium-service-costs-50-one-time-incl/">Report: Battlefield 3 'Premium' service costs $50 one time, includes 'all five themed expansion packs'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 30 May 2012 12:10:00 EST. Entitled "Dead Space Graphic Novel Short," the video showcases the story of John Carver, an Earthgov Seargent, as he "witnesses an attack on the Marker Site he guards which changes his life forever." There's also a countdown on the site - coded in Dead Space's alien language - set to expire in six days. Electronic Arts' E3 press conference, meanwhile, is set to take place on Monday, curiously only <em>five</em> days away.<br /><br />Despite the video's title, there's reason to believe this is all tied to <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/dead-space-3"><em>Dead Space 3</em></a>. As noticed by fans on the <a href="http://www.facebook.com/deadspace/posts/362732430449187">Dead Space Facebook page</a>, the website's source code contains numerous references to "ds3." The site adds that this is "just the start of John Carver's saga in the Dead Space Universe," implying that something grander than merchandising is on the way. Perhaps Carver is a new protagonist? One way or another, we'll find out next week.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/30/new-dead-space-video-pops-up-signs-point-to-dead-space-3/">New Dead Space video pops up, signs point to Dead Space 3</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 30 May 2012 11:30:00 EST. In the gameplay department, a "new check point save system" is being added, and the ever-frustrating flashlight issue is being resolved with "the new armor-mounted flashlight." If that weren't enough, the BFG Edition includes both <em>Doom 1 </em>and <em>2</em>, so you can truly vanquish every single last demon in all of the space hells, all in one package. Warner Bros. Interactive's Monolith Productions is crafting the Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit-themed MOBA, and the studio plans on launching the game this fall (ahead of this December's film, <em>The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey</em>).<br /><br />According to the announcement, 10 players will battle in five-on-five matches set against the backdrop of Middle-earth. Various Lord of the Rings bulletpoints will be hit, of course, with characters like Gollum and Sauron available for fighting (as "Guardians" - think <em>League of Legends</em>' "Hero" characters). We'll assuredly get a closer look at the game next week during E3.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/30/lord-of-the-rings-meets-moba-in-xbla-psn-guardians-of-middle-ea/">Lord of the Rings meets MOBA in XBLA/PSN 'Guardians of Middle-earth' from F.E.A.R. devs</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 30 May 2012 10:00:00 EST. The game's upcoming DLC pack "Close Quarters" also got a date and price: June 4, &pound;11.99/&euro;14.99/AU$23.95.<br /><br />As you might imagine, someone at Sony quickly realized the issue and pulled the info ... but not before Google Cache caught it in its icy, permanent grip. We've reached out to EA and Sony for more info, but it sounds like the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/14/rumor-ea-to-reveal-cod-elite-like-service-for-battlefield-3-at/">rumored Call of Duty Elite-esque service</a> for <em>Battlefield 3</em> is more than just a rumor.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/30/battlefield-3-premium-service-dated-for-june-4-alongside-clo/">Battlefield 3 'Premium' service dated for June 4, alongside 'Close Quarters' DLC pack</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 30 May 2012 09:30:00 EST. It's joined by the PS2 party game <em>Rayman Arena</em>, which is ... maybe not quite the classic <em>Origins</em> is.
