All Fallout 3 DLC half off this week on Xbox Live Marketplace

As the Bethesda blog conveniently points out, the entirety of Fallout 3's downloadable addendums -- from forays into virtual Alaska to intergalactic excursions -- are half off their normal asking price this week. At 400 MS Points ($5) a pop, you'll only be $25 less prepared for Fallout: New Vegas. No worries, though -- we're pretty sure the employees at your local GameStop will happily accept Nuka Cola bottlecaps in place of US currency should you be a few pennies short come October 19.

Xbox Live Deal of the Week: Fallout 3 DLC

This week's Xbox Live deal ain't too shabby, if you haven't got yourself a copy of Fallout 3: GOTY Edition or already downloaded all of the game's DLC onto your hard drive. Each of the five episodes continuing the adventures of our strong, silent hero (or villain, if you prefer to play the meanie) are half-off this week, just as anticipated.

That means the whole lot (usually setting back would-be Wasteland travelers $50 total) can be yours for $25 up until March 29 -- or 400 ($5) each. War never changes, but the cost of doing battle just got a bit cheaper.

Today's Xbox Live deal: 50% off all Fallout 3 DLC

Watch your head, folks, because prices are falling. Today's Xbox Live holiday deal of the day is targeted directly at DLC for Bethesda's critical and commercial darling, Fallout 3. If you're looking to add more intense VATS-related action to the RPG, each add-on pack is available for 400 ($5) a piece -- a 50% savings of your Microsoft-branded space bucks.

New to the Fallout 3 universe? There are five DLC add-on packs for the (already) lengthy RPG. Arguably the most important -- and one you should tackle first -- is Broken Steel, which increases the game's overall level cap to 30 and allows players to continue playing beyond the conclusion. Also, a Game of the Year edition is available in stores, which includes all of Fallout 3's downloadable content -- making it cheaper if you don't already own the game to begin with.

Ride the ferry to Fallout 3's Point Lookout now

Fallout 3 fans, it's time to get aboard the Duchess Gambit and visit the the beautiful seaside town of Point Lookout. Take long walks on the beach, absorb invigorating rays of sunshine and sip cocktails poolside. Yes, it's just another gorgeous day in the Wasteland, when you download the latest expansion to the post-nuclear apocalyptic epic for 800 ($10).

Who are we kidding? Point Lookout is a freak show. There are going to be creepy quest lines, nasty swamps and likely some inbreeding, based on the images we've seen.

Steamboats and body parts in new Point Lookout screens

In an act that can only be defined as 'terror gifting,' Bethesda recently dropped a handful of new, extra creepy Fallout 3: Point Lookout screenshots for your approval. Between the trailer (after the break), the few screens we got before and the handful of screens below, the creators of the "Capital Wasteland" have remained fairly tight-lipped about even the existence of the DLC from the get go.

Of the little we know from Bethesda about the game -- the swamp setting and promise of new weapons/enemies -- it looks as though the company is set to take even more of our money in the coming months. And considering this is the same developer that once created horse armor, we're going to say things have come a pretty long way.

We know we might be be approaching Point Lookout overkill here, but we didn't want that to keep you from missing out on the video and screens that Bethesda just dropped for Fallout 3's creepy visit to a Deliverance-esque port town.

OK, now we're going to go take the time to write up some more about what we saw. Well, we're going to find the time. Somewhere. Hey, why are you laughing at us, we will!

Fallout 3's Point Lookout coming June 23

We just got our mitts on the new Fallout 3 DLC Point Lookout, and we'll be giving you the full rundown on what we saw soon. But we thought you'd be interested to know that the pack's late June date had been narrowed to June 23, according to a Bethesda rep at E3.

Retailer listings suggest fourth Fallout 3 expansion

Itchin' for more wasteland scouring? According to retailer listings spotted this morning, another piece of Fallout 3 DLC may very well be in the works, known as "Point Look" (by eStarland) or "Point Lookout" (by DeepDiscounts). Much like the recent packaging of Fallout 3's Operation Anchorage and The Pitt DLCs, this one comes bundled with the third currently announced add-on, Broken Steel, and is listed at $19.95.

Shacknews asked Bethesda marketing VP Pete Hines about the retail listings and got this in return, "We have said there will be three DLCs for Fallout 3, for PC and 360. Beyond that we have no announced plans for additional DLC." The site points out the caginess of Hines' "announced" claim, though we'd add that he specifically notes "for PC and 360." While Bethesda has said the PS3 version of Fallout 3 won't be receiving this DLC, this wouldn't be a bad way to do it, eh?
