We're currently doing our best Oliver impression toward Sony PR to find out if the colors will cruise over to North America.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/25/garnet-red-azurite-blue-ps3-bundles-headed-to-europe-as-well/">Garnet Red, Azurite Blue PS3 bundles headed to Europe as well</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 25 Jan 2013 19:20:00 EST. Apart from a sticker, a security screw and a tricky power supply, the site dubs the super slim PS3 fairly easy to take apart (and potentially repair). Head over to iFixit for the full teardown. Just be warned that it might not be safe for work; this PS3 gets <em>awfully</em> exposed.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/03/new-ps3-model-torn-apart-internals-exposed/">New PS3 model torn apart, internals exposed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 03 Oct 2012 14:30:00 EST. The <em>Yakuza 5</em> "Emblem Edition" (above) features gold emblems of the virtual crime families featured in the series around the edges of the 250GB system, and a gold controller to match, along with a special themed USB drive. It's due in Japan December 6.<br /><br />The <em>Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage 2</em> "Legend Edition" has character art in white along the periphery of the black system, with a controller that is supposed to feature a Big Dipper design, but which looks a lot like it's been pooped on by birds. It'll be released on December 20.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/02/yakuza-5-and-fist-of-the-north-star-inspire-interesting-ps3/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Yakuza 5 and Fist of the North Star inspire ... interesting PS3 special editions</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/02/yakuza-5-and-fist-of-the-north-star-inspire-interesting-ps3/">Yakuza 5 and Fist of the North Star inspire ... interesting PS3 special editions</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 02 Oct 2012 09:45:00 EST. Now, before you dive into our gallery of images below, we should set the record straight on a few things - specifically, the new disc tray and <strike>the lack of a hard drive bay</strike>.<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> The new model does indeed support new hard drives. To <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/09/25/new-ps3-model-out-today-exclusive-first-look/">access the bay</a>, you need to push off the plastic bezel on one of the system's ends. We apologize for the oversight.<br /><br />As for the new disc tray, there's a plastic latch connected to a large plastic bar on the front of the console. Pressing the bar on the right side will turn the console on and off; the left side of the bar will release a latch holding the sliding door, allowing it to slide back and reveal the disc tray. Perhaps the saddest part of all this is how the sliding door doesn't make that "whoosh" sound from <em>Star Trek</em>.<br /><br />In summary: It's indeed lighter and smaller than the previous two PS3 models, and it doesn't make any sounds from <em>Star Trek</em>. None.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ps3-super-slim-unboxing-0/">PS3 Super Slim (Unboxing)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ps3-super-slim-unboxing-0/#5313368"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/09/cimg0511-1348593879_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ps3-super-slim-unboxing-0/#5313371"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/09/cimg0513-1348593881_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ps3-super-slim-unboxing-0/#5313373"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/09/cimg0514-1348593883_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ps3-super-slim-unboxing-0/#5313375"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/09/cimg0515-1348593884_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ps3-super-slim-unboxing-0/#5313376"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/09/cimg0516-1348593886_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/25/say-hello-to-the-super-slim-ps3/">Say hello to the super slim PS3</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 25 Sep 2012 15:30:00 EST.
