Your patience has paid off. Today, Capcom has issued the full <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/capcom-arcade-cabinet/"><em>Capcom Arcade Cabinet</em></a> collection - a cheaper bundle of all 17 games previously issued in piecemeal packs and as individual downloads. The all-in-one pack is available starting today for 2,000 MS Points ($30), a saving of $15 over purchasing all five game packs.<br />
<br />
<em>Capcom Arcade Cabinet</em> highlights games from the publisher's catalog spanning the years between 1984 and 1988. The full list of 17 games within the <em>Capcom Arcade Cabinet</em> are <em>Black Tiger, Avengers, 1943, The Battle of Midway, Ghosts n Goblins, Gun Smoke, Section Z, Side Arms, Legendary Wings, Trojan, Commando, The Speed Rumbler, Exed Exes (Savage Bees), 1942, SonSon </em>and<em> Pirate Ship Higemaru</em>. There are also two secret games: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/16/capcom-arcade-cabinet-secret-games-are-1943-kai-and-vulgus/"><em>1943 Kai</em> and <em>Vulgus</em></a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/24/psa-capcom-arcade-cabinet-all-in-one-available-now/">PSA: Capcom Arcade Cabinet all-in-one available now</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 24 May 2013 12:00:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/class-of-heroes-2"><em>Class of Heroes 2</em></a>, MonkeyPaw's PSP game from 2009, is finally coming to North America on June 4. PSN users can snag the fully localized JRPG dungeon crawler - which is playable on both PSP and PS Vita - for $25 from the PSN store.<br />
<br />
The effort to localize <em>Class of Heroes 2</em> began in 2012 with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/28/monkeypaw-and-gaijinworks-kickstart-a-class-of-heroes-2-localiza/">a Kickstarter campaign</a> seeking $500,000 in funding. Ultimately, only $96,951 was raised, though MonkeyPaw CEO John Greiner wasn't too down in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/25/monkeypaw-on-the-educational-upside-of-class-of-heroes-2-kicksta/">a follow-up interview with Joystiq</a>.<br />
<br />
Greiner said that even though the Kickstarter campaign failed, "we were able to educate people about the game and its features. That will help immensely when we release the digital version."<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/24/class-of-heroes-2-in-session-on-psn-june-4/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Class of Heroes 2 available on PSN June 4</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/24/class-of-heroes-2-in-session-on-psn-june-4/">Class of Heroes 2 available on PSN June 4</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 24 May 2013 04:00:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/the-warriors"><em>The Warriors</em></a>, Rockstar's 2005 game based on the 1979 cult movie, is <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/05/22/the-warriors-coming-next-week-to-psn/">coming to PSN next week</a>. As per typical PS Store updates, it arrives in North America on May 28 for $9.99, and then in Europe the day after for &pound;7.99/&euro;9.99.<br />
<br />
Rockstar Toronto reportedly worked on a spiritual successor to <em>The Warriors</em>,<em> </em>an Xbox 360 game called <em>We Are The Mods</em>. According to <a href="http://www.computerandvideogames.com/297658/rockstars-secret-xbox-360-game-unmasked/">CVG</a>, it was similar in style to The Warriors' urban brawling, but set in mid-1960s England, during the Mods and Rockers era.<br />
<br />
Since that never came to fruition, the closest you're going to get to a current-gen Warriors game, outside of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/24/the-rogues-come-out-to-play-in-this-the-warriors-street-brawl-t/">CTXM's <em>The Warriors: Street Brawl</em></a>, is next week's re-release. Like all PS2 Classics on PSN, it's only playable on PS3.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/23/the-warriors-rages-onto-psn-next-week-as-ps2-classic/">The Warriors rages onto PSN next week as PS2 Classic</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 23 May 2013 16:30:00 EST. Finnish developer Housemarque <a href="http://www.housemarque.com/2013/05/23/housemarque-developing-a-spiritual-successor-to-the-super-stardust-franchise-on-playstation4/">announced</a> today that it's working on a "spiritual successor" to the Super Stardust series for the PlayStation 4.<br />
<br />
Housemarque's twin-stick shooter <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/super-stardust-hd"><i>Super Stardust HD</i></a> launched as a downloadable title during the PlayStation 3's first year of release. The company followed up with the PS3-exclusive zombie shooter <i>Dead Nation</i> and the multiplatform <i>Outland</i>, and made its PS Vita debut last year with <em>Super Stardust Delta</em>.<br />
<br />
"We truly believe that better technology can lead to better gameplay," Housemarque's CEO Ilari Kuittinen explains. "The more tools and resources we have at our disposal, the better."<br />
<br />
Kuittinen continues: "Think of <i>Super Stardust HD</i>: at the time, PlayStation 3 gave us the opportunity to populate the game with thousands of interactive objects and implement the game's famous 'spherical gameplay'. Today, we can take advantage of the architecture of PlayStation 4 to create incredible visuals with direct impact on the way the new game feels."<br />
<br />
Housemarque additionally revealed that it is working on "another unannounced PS4 project." The company will announce further details regarding both games later this year.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/23/super-stardust-spiritual-successor-coming-to-playstation-4/">Super Stardust 'spiritual successor' coming to PlayStation 4</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 23 May 2013 15:00:00 EST. A boxed retail collection of PlayStation Network titles will hit store shelves on June 25, bringing four games and a $40 price tag with it. <em>Best of PlayStation Network Vol. 1</em>, the first in a series of "Best of" releases according to the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/05/22/best-of-playstation-network-vol-1-arrives-this-june/">announcement</a>, includes <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/when-vikings-attack"><em>When Vikings Attack</em></a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/sound-shapes"><em>Sound Shapes</em></a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/tokyo-jungle"><em>Tokyo Jungle</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/fat-princess"><em>Fat Princess</em></a>.<br />
<br />
No word on when <em>Vol. 2</em> will follow or what games will be included with it, but for the time being this seems like a pretty legit way to save "nearly $15." Folks interested in internetless PlayStation Networking might also want to check out <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/journey"><em>Journey</em></a>'s <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Journey-Collectors-Edition-Playstation-3/dp/B008CP6RWU/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1369242569&amp;sr=8-3&amp;keywords=journey">Collector's Edition</a>, which is also a collection of acclaimed PSN games on physical caveman media for cavemen.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/22/best-of-playstation-network-vol-1-coming-to-retail-next-month/">Best of PlayStation Network Vol. 1 coming to retail next month</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 22 May 2013 18:00:00 EST. Once the launch sale ends, each Ultimate Edition will still be available on for up to 40 percent off the standard game-and-DLC price, under the Ultimate Edition tab on the PS Store.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/20/ultimate-editions-decimate-psn-dmc-ac3-persona-4-arena-7-mor/">Ultimate Editions decimate PSN: DMC, AC3, Persona 4 Arena, 7 more</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 20 May 2013 14:00:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/the-last-of-us"><em>The Last of Us</em></a> launches on June 14, simultaneously on Blu-ray and as a download through PSN. Those who choose the latter route on PS3 will find the game playable once the download has reached 50 percent, Naughty Dog creative director Neil Druckmann has told <a href="http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2013/05/16/the-last-of-us-will-release-be-released-digitally-same-day-as-retail.aspx">Game Informer</a>.<br />
<br />
It's our first taste of PS4-esque functionality, just on the PS3 - as you'll recall, one of the major features touted by Sony is the ability to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/20/ps4-allows-playing-games-as-theyre-downloading/">play games as they're downloaded</a>. This is accomplished on the PS4 through the use of hardware dedicated to background downloading and processing.<br />
<br />
 <strong>Update:</strong> This is in regards to the PS3. We've added more clear language to that effect.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/17/last-of-us-digital-version-playable-when-halfway-downloaded/">Last of Us digital version playable when halfway downloaded [update]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 17 May 2013 13:45:00 EST. The former Sony Liverpool devs at Sawfly Studios are bringing <em>Men's Room Mayhem</em> to Vita next week, via PSN. It should arrive on May 21 in North America, although as always with news revealed by the <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/official-playstation-blogcast/id483223024">PlayStation Blogcast</a>, dates can be subject to change.<br />
<br />
If you're curious about the curiously named game, Phil Gaskell from publisher Ripstone describes it as "<em>Flight Control </em>meets <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carry_On_at_Your_Convenience"><em>Carry on at Your Convenience</em></a>." - No, it's not the flight paths of... that stuff, but about getting patrons to where they need to go.<br />
<br />
"In <em>Men's Room Mayhem</em> you're hired as the janitor of your very own chaotic men's room," said Gaskell on the <a href="http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2013/05/02/mens-room-mayhem-enforces-laws-of-the-lav-on-ps-vita-soon/">PlayStation Blog</a>. "You're responsible for directing patrons, keeping everywhere sparkling clean and steering patrons away from trouble! You need to get your customers safely to the urinals and cubicles in time - otherwise there'll be a few nasty accidents for you to clean up!"<br />
<br />
The Blogcast also outed a wee (ahem) bit of other content in next week's PS Store update. A "smattering of DLC" is coming to <em>Aliens: Colonial Marines, </em>although the podcast wasn't any more specific than that<em>. A</em> digital PS3 version of <em>Mugen Souls</em> is also due.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/17/mens-room-mayhem-hits-psn-next-week-aliens-colonial-marines-d/">Men's Room Mayhem hits PSN next week, Aliens: Colonial Marines DLC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 17 May 2013 12:45:00 EST. <i>Foosball 2012</i> and <i>One Epic Game</i> developer <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/grip-games/">Grip Games</a> announced the upcoming PlayStation Network release of <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/05/16/atomic-ninjas-storm-ps3-ps-vita-later-this-year/"><i>Atomic Ninjas</i></a>, a multiplayer action game for the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita.<br />
<br />
 <i>Atomic Ninjas</i> is a competitive 2.5D platformer in which up to four players compete in trap-filled arenas to be the last ninja standing. The twist is that players aren't able to harm each other directly; instead, you'll need to make clever use of environmental hazards, hiding spots, and item pick-ups in order to lead competing players to their doom. The game offers seven arenas and multiple gameplay modes, including a selection of team-based competitions.<br />
<br />
Creator Grip Games describes <i>Atomic Ninjas</i> as the theoretical love child of <i>Fat Princess</i> and <i>Crash Commando</i> -- a worrisome mental image, for sure, but potentially a worthwhile gameplay mix. <i>Atomic Ninjas</i> is set to launch this summer.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/atomic-ninjas-ps3-vita/">Atomic Ninjas (PS3/Vita)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/atomic-ninjas-ps3-vita/#5885792"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/atomicninjas-01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/atomic-ninjas-ps3-vita/#5885793"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/atomicninjas-02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/atomic-ninjas-ps3-vita/#5885794"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/atomicninjas-03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/atomic-ninjas-ps3-vita/#5885795"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/atomicninjas-04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/atomic-ninjas-ps3-vita/#5885796"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/atomicninjas-05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/16/atomic-ninjas-brings-multiplayer-mayhem-to-ps3-vita-this-summer/">Atomic Ninjas brings multiplayer mayhem to PS3, Vita this summer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 16 May 2013 22:30:00 EST. European PlayStation Plus subscribers have plenty to keep themselves busy with when the rain inevitably lashes down on Wimbledon next month. June's Plus update brings two very different breeds of RPG to the PS3's Instant Game Collection in <em>Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning</em> and <em>Demon's Souls</em>, as well the <em>Ico and Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection</em>. All three games arrive a wee bit early on May 29.<br />
<br />
Meanwhile on Vita, June features <em>Rayman Origins</em> and <em>Coconut Dodge Revitalized</em> for the portable. Both Vita games join the Collection on June 5. <em>Coconut Dodge Revitalized</em> is the next Futurlab PS Mini to get the HD treatment. As before, the self-explanatory (<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/10/coconut-dodge-bounces-to-psn-may-19-in-europe-soon-in-us/">or not</a>) 2D high-scorer gets leaderboards and trophies support on Vita.<br />
<br />
As ever, the revolving door that is PS Plus means new arrivals are countered by departures. <em>Hitman: Absolution</em>, <em>Joe Danger 2</em>, and <em>Dead or Alive 5</em> leave the service on May 29, followed by <em>Sine Mora </em>on June 5, and Futurlab's <em>Velocity Ultra</em> on June 12.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/15/ps-plus-europe-explores-amalur-demons-souls-ico-sotc-in-june/">PS Plus Europe explores Amalur, Demon's Souls, Ico/SotC in June</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 15 May 2013 10:15:00 EST. <br />
The <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/netflix">Netflix</a> app on PS3 has been updated, bringing closer design parity with web and mobile applications to the PS3. Netflix has fixed audio stream and subtitle issues in this update, allowing users to fiddle with these while watching content. Before, you had to back out back to the front-end to enable subtitles. If you've got a PS3 Blu-ray remote, just hit the subtitles button to enable.<br />
<br />
The "trickplay" component - a fancy term for fast-forwarding and rewinding through a particular program - has been tweaked to show more image still previews while scanning through content. You can also instantly rewind whatever you're watching ten seconds by pressing left on the DualShock dpad or PlayStation remote.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/14/netflix-ps3-app-updated-with-improved-subtitles-faster-scanning/">Netflix PS3 app updated with improved subtitles, faster scanning</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 14 May 2013 16:15:00 EST. Twenty-one randomly selected indie developers walk into a digital room and ponder the question, "Which online distribution system has been the most effective for your games?"<br />
<br />
If this were the set-up to a joke, the punchline would probably be, "Facebook." But for many indie developers, the question of which platform to publish their games on is a very serious one, with potentially dire consequences. Pared down, platform success is all about accessibility, upload and support, and in terms of those factors, there's a clear, unsurprising favorite: Steam.<br />
<br />
But maybe not for long.<br />
<br />
I asked 21 indie developers this question, and while the majority mentioned Steam in the same casual manner that begets an unchallenged king, there were consistent whispers of other platforms doing things well, perhaps even <em>better</em> than Steam, from a backend perspective. One of these platforms was the Humble Store, which received the second-highest number of solid votes and a handful of positive shout-outs.<br />
<br />
"I owe pretty much my entire survival the last few years to iOS, the Humble Store, and to a lesser extent Android and Steam," Adam Saltsman, the creator of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/canabalt"><em>Canabalt</em></a>, said. But iOS ran into some bad censorship issues, Android had discoverability problems and Steam was "obviously" too closed, he said. If Saltsman could choose just one of those platforms to release his next game on, it would be, "Humble Store," hands-down.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/14/steam-is-king-in-service-wars-humble-store-a-sleeping-giant-in/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Steam is king in service wars, Humble Store a sleeping giant, indies say</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/14/steam-is-king-in-service-wars-humble-store-a-sleeping-giant-in/">Steam is king in service wars, Humble Store a sleeping giant, indies say</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 14 May 2013 13:45:00 EST. There's something odd going on with <em>Wolfenstein 3D</em> on PSN and XBLM. First off, this week the ESRB re-rated the classic game on Xbox 360 and PS3, nearly four years after it arrived on the platforms digitally. Secondly, it's sprouted an <a href="http://www.xbox.com/en-US/Search?q=wolfenstein%203d#Games">additional page</a> on XBLM.<br />
<br />
Playing Spot the Difference between the two pages, the new one lists the publisher as Bethesda rather than Activision. Developer id Software was acquired by Bethesda's parent company Zenimax in June 2009, just a few weeks after <em>Wolfenstein 3D</em> came to XBLM and PSN. Also, the release date is now listed as May 31 of this year, which is a bit odd. The box art is slightly different too, and once more notes Bethesda's name instead of Activision's.<br />
<br />
Overall, the whole thing's as curious as Adolf Hitler in a mech suit. The timing's certainly interesting given the recent reveal of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/07/wolfenstein-the-new-order-announced/">Wolfenstein: The New Order</a></em>. When approached on the matter, a company spokesperson told Joystiq, "No comment on that from Bethesda."<br />
<br />
<strong>Update</strong>: Bethesda VP of PR and Marketing Pete Hines told Joystiq there's <a href="http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/p480x480/935784_10151424178252005_1158080246_n.jpg">nothing to see here</a>.<br />
<br />
"No changes. Was originally published through Activision, so now that it's reverted back to us we have to jump through ESRB (ratings go to the publisher, they don't "follow" the game to a new publisher) and console hoops (game has to be "re-certed" by the new publisher)," Hines said. <p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/14/wolfenstein-3d-re-rated-by-esrb-gets-new-page-on-xblm/">Wolfenstein 3D re-rated by ESRB, gets new page on XBLM [update: housekeeping]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 14 May 2013 06:00:00 EST. Sony <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/05/09/april-2013-psn-top-sellers-guacamelee-fights-to-the-top/">reports</a> that DrinkBox Studios' side-scrolling luchador brawler <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/guacamelee"><i>Guacamelee</i></a> emerged as last month's biggest seller on the PlayStation Network, topping the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita sales charts in North America and <a href="http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2013/05/09/playstation-store-pal-charts-april-2013/">Europe</a>.<br />
<br />
 <i>Guacamelee</i> launched in both regions the week of April 9, and was bolstered by a week-long sale for PlayStation Plus members. The game beat out <i>Terraria</i> and the downloadable version of Square Enix's <i>Tomb Raider</i> for the top PS3 chart spot stateside, and overtook Sony's <i>Soul Sacrifice</i> and Muteki's <i>Dragon Fantasy Book I</i> to lead PS Vita sales.<br />
<br />
Over in Europe, <i>Guacamelee</i> toppled PSN favorites <i>Journey, Hitman: Blood Money HD</i> and <i>Crysis</i> to champion the PS3 sales list, and outsold <i>Urban Trial Freestyle</i> and <i>Sound Shapes</i> in a no-holds-barred Triple Threat match on the Vita.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/10/guacamelee-dominates-aprils-psn-charts-in-us-and-europe/">Guacamelee dominates April's PSN charts in US and Europe</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 10 May 2013 16:00:00 EST. Rockstar North's stealth <em>slash</em> slaughter game, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/manhunt">Manhunt</a>,</em> launches on PSN next week on May 14, available in the PS2 Classics section for $10. European PSN users will have to wait until Wednesday, when their store is updated.<br />
<br />
In the <a href="http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/49851/manhunt-coming-to-psn-next-week.html">announcement post</a>, Rockstar also says the next game up for re-release is <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/the-warriors"><em>The Warriors</em></a>. <em>Manhunt</em> joins <em>Bully</em>, <em>Midnight Club 3</em>, <em>Red Dead Revolver</em> and various <a href="http://joystiq.search.aol.com/search?q=grand+theft+auto&amp;invocationType=wl-joystiq"><em>Grand Theft Auto</em></a> games, all available on PSN now.<br />
<br />
The PS2 Classic generated much controversy when it launched in 2003 for its gruesome murder scenarios and animations - a few examples include suffocating enemies with plastic bags, strangling them with wire and eviscerating others with table saws. In 2007, Rockstar produced a sequel in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/manhunt-2"><em>Manhunt 2</em></a>, which was banned in the UK for almost six months before <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/14/manhunt-2-uk-ban-officially-lifted/">it was cleared for launch</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/09/manhunt-goes-to-ps2-classics-on-may-14/">Manhunt goes to PS2 Classics on May 14</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 09 May 2013 18:00:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/tearaway"><em>Tearaway</em></a>, the Vita game coming from LittleBigPlanet developer Media Molecule, has split itself into <a href="http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2013/05/09/tearaway-pre-order-extras-revealed/">two pre-order bonuses</a> in Europe, both available at participating retailers. The first pre-order bonus - the Jukebox Pack - includes avatars, a background for the Vita and the game's soundtrack, complete with a bonus song. The second bonus pack, Special Delivery, includes in-game costumes and an exclusive skin for a rideable pig (yes, in-game), with printable papercraft plans (out-of-game, obviously).<br />
<br />
 <em>Tearaway</em> hits retail and PSN on October 23 in Europe. And, once again, your choices for pre-orders in that region are soundtrack or <em>rideable pig</em>. We think you'll make the right decision.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/09/tearaway-breaks-off-two-eu-pre-order-bonuses-soundtrack-or-pig/">Tearaway breaks off two EU pre-order bonuses: Soundtrack or pig</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 09 May 2013 16:30:00 EST. The Star Wars-themed pinball tables that found their way to Zen Studios' myriad pinball games <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/05/zen-studios-launching-star-wars-pinball-this-month/">last February</a> will be released as a standalone product for PlayStation 3 and Vita next week. <em>Star Wars Pinball</em> will include the <em>Star Wars Episode V</em>, Boba Fett and<em> Clone Wars</em> tables previously seen in <em>Zen Pinball 2</em>, et al.<br />
<br />
Players can choose to contribute their high scores to either the Galactic Empire or Rebel Alliance, with the game's interface changing dynamically depending on the global balance of power. The game will be Cross-Buy enabled at $9.99/&euro;9.99, though anyone who already owns these tables in <em>Zen Pinball 2</em> can download the new solo app for free. Likewise, anyone that purchases <em>Star Wars Pinball</em> will unlock the equivalent tables in <em>Zen Pinball 2</em>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/07/star-wars-pinball-standalone-version-hits-psn-next-week/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Star Wars Pinball standalone version hits PSN next week</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/07/star-wars-pinball-standalone-version-hits-psn-next-week/">Star Wars Pinball standalone version hits PSN next week</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 07 May 2013 17:30:00 EST. The PlayStation Network will launch an "Indie Games" section for the PlayStation Store later today as part of the standard <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/psn-tuesday">Tuesday update</a>.<br />
<br />
"This category <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/26/seen-gdc-a-really-big-gamejam-check-sonys-heavy-indie-push-co/">builds on the support</a> that PlayStation has offered independent developers in the effort to highlight some of the most unique gaming experiences on PlayStation platforms," notes the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/05/07/new-indie-games-category-on-playstation-store/">PlayStation Blog</a>. "This new category will house all of our latest indie titles in one convenient place."<br />
<br />
Clarifying some odd wording on the PlayStation Blog, <a href="http://gamasutra.com/view/news/191829/Indies_are_getting_their_own_PlayStation_Store_section.php">Gamasutra</a> has confirmed that Indie games will reside in both the normal section of the PSN store and this new indies section in Europe. We've confirmed with a representative for Sony America that the plan is to have indie games found in both sections in North America, as well.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/07/indie-games-getting-own-section-on-psn/">PSN adding Indie Games section</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 07 May 2013 10:58:00 EST. The demo of Insomniac's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/fuse"><em>Fuse</em></a>, formerly Insomniac's <em>Overstrike</em>, melds with the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network today. It's <a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Fuse-Demo/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d802454189a0">already available on XBLM</a> (all 1.45GB of it), while PSN gets it later today.<br />
<br />
The demo lets you play a portion of the four-player shooter's campaign either offline with AI partners, or online. If you go online you can play solo with the option to invite friends, or with friends able to join you at any time. You can also play co-op via matchmaking.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/07/psa-fuse-demo-sparks-up-xblm-psn-today/">PSA: Fuse demo sparks up XBLM, PSN today</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 07 May 2013 10:30:00 EST. Creative Director Dean Evans is interested in a follow-up to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/far-cry-3-blood-dragon"><em>Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon</em></a>, at least according to Michael Biehn, the game's star voice talent. In <a href="https://soundcloud.com/xbox/show-475-ted-price-on-fuse-and">an interview</a> with Xbox's Major Nelson, Biehn said from his understanding <em>Blood Dragon</em> is exceeding Ubisoft's sales expectations by five times, and Evans is now considering a sequel to the retro spinoff.<br />
<br />
"Dean was with me on the phone last night, he called me last night," Biehn said on Major Nelson Radio. "He was pretty jacked up. He was going into a meeting today, to.. I think he wants to turn it into some sort of franchise. He's got a sequel in mind."<br />
<br />
We gushed about the "most excellent" <em>Blood Dragon</em> in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/30/far-cry-3-blood-dragon-review/">our review</a>, so seeing Sgt. Rex Colt return to a screen near us could be a great thing. Having said that, we do wonder if the comprehensively nostalgic game has anything left to add to the pastiche.<br />
<br />
In the meantime, we've reached out to Ubisoft for comment.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/06/far-cry-3-blood-dragon-sequel-could-happen-says-biehn/">Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon sequel could happen, says Biehn</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 06 May 2013 10:00:00 EST. After being <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/20/playstation-store-taken-down-in-korea-in-compliance-with-new-law/">taken offline</a> last July, the PlayStation Store will finally reopen for business on South Korean PlayStation 3 units on Thursday, May 16. The service was originally removed to comply with new South Korean legislation that made it illegal for persons under the age of 18 to verify online accounts with their real name or age.<br />
<br />
As a result, use of the PlayStation Store is now restricted to users 18 and older, regardless of whether the service is actually being used to <em>buy</em> something. As an apology to all users affected by the months-long outage, Sony Computer Entertainment Korea is gifting all eligible users one free month of PlayStation Plus.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/04/psa-playstation-store-returns-to-south-korean-ps3s-may-16/">PSA: PlayStation Store returns to South Korean PS3s May 16</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 04 May 2013 10:30:00 EST. <br />
Adam Heart and developer Iron Galaxy Studios have revealed another featured character in their two-button, no-joystick 2D fighter parody <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/divekick"><i>Divekick</i></a>, though this particular addition requires players to shoulder a major tradeoff during battle.<br />
<br />
"Jefailey," a character poking fun at fighting game tournament organizer <a href="https://twitter.com/CEOJebailey">Alex Jebailey</a>, boasts a unique "disqualification" projectile move, in addition to the game's standard repertoire of instant-kill attacks. The tradeoff? Jefailey's head grows in size after winning a round, making him an increasingly vulnerable target over the duration of the match.<br />
<br />
It's worth noting that <i>Divekick</i> features a concussion mechanic, and if any character loses a round by being kicked in the head, they'll start off the next round in a dizzied state. Jefailey, then, seems like a character for risk-takers, or for those who think that their opponents will be distracted by his massive noggin.<br />
<br />
Iron Galaxy reveals new <i>Divekick</i> characters every Monday via <a href="http://www.twitch.tv/irongalaxy">livestream</a>. <i>Divekick</i> is slated for release this summer for the PlayStation 3, PS Vita, and PC.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/03/new-divekick-character-is-for-high-risk-big-headed-players/">New Divekick character is for high-risk, big-headed players</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 03 May 2013 18:45:00 EST. Snoop Dogg's rhythm/fighting game <em>Way of the Dogg </em>is <a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Way-of-the-Dogg/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80258411291">now available</a> on XBLA for 800 MS Points, which is far less than the cost of changing your name and becoming a reggae artist - believe us, we looked into it. The <em>Elite Beat Agents</em>-esque game is also "coming soon" to PlayStation Network, iOS and Android, according to publisher 505 Games.<br />
<br />
In other Snoop Dogg related news, we recently found a horrible bootleg hip-hop mixtape that we bought nine years ago at a thrift store for like $0.48. Early reports indicate that it is still <em>completely awesome</em>.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/way-of-the-dogg-5-3-13/">Way of the Dogg (5/3/13)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/way-of-the-dogg-5-3-13/#5857148"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/maygameplayannouncementxbla1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/way-of-the-dogg-5-3-13/#5857149"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/maygameplayannouncementxbla2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/way-of-the-dogg-5-3-13/#5857150"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/maygameplayannouncementxbla3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/way-of-the-dogg-5-3-13/#5857151"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/maygameplayannouncementxbla4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/way-of-the-dogg-5-3-13/#5857152"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/maygameplayannouncementxbla5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/03/way-of-the-dogg-out-now-on-xbla-psn-and-mobile-soon/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Way of the Dogg out now on XBLA, PSN and mobile 'soon'</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/03/way-of-the-dogg-out-now-on-xbla-psn-and-mobile-soon/">Way of the Dogg out now on XBLA, PSN and mobile 'soon'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 03 May 2013 14:00:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/sound-shapes"><em>Sound Shapes</em></a>, Queasy Games's synesthetic platformer, gets another batch of DLC on May 14 in North America, May 15 in Europe. While Queasy's announcement was coy, <a href="http://www.psnstores.com/2013/05/sound-shapes-dlc-coming-may-14th/">PSNStores</a> says it's confirmed the DLC comprises two sound packs: one 1980s-themed, one dubstep.<br />
<br />
As PSNStores notes, the two DLCs packs <a href="http://blog.asia.playstation.com/community/hk/en/playstation_network/playstation_store/blog/2013/03/12/whats-on-psn-this-week--12th-march">accidentally appeared</a> in a PS Store update for Asia back in March, and <a href="http://exophase.com/game/sound-shapes-ps-vita/trophies/">their trophies</a> are listed too. The 80s are <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/far-cry-3-blood-dragon">back in style</a> and dubstep isn't going away anytime soon, so the timing looks metronomic for some new beats.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/03/sound-shapes-lays-down-more-dlc-on-may-14-in-na-may-15-eu/">Sound Shapes lays down more DLC on May 14 in NA, May 15 EU</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 03 May 2013 10:00:00 EST. PlayStation Plus breaches the Eastern crime zone of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/sleeping-dogs"><em>Sleeping Dogs</em></a> in North America on May 7. As revealed on this week's PlayStation Blogcast, PS Plus subscribers get express tickets for some murder on the Orient in next week's store update.<br />
<br />
Also joining the Instant Game Collection in May are <em>Pinball Arcade</em> on the PS3, which comes with the Tales of the Arabian Nights, Ripley's Believe It or Not, Black Hole, and Theater of Magic tables, as well as subterranean side-scroller <em>Knytt Underground</em> and enhanced fighter <em>BlazBlue: Contiuum Shift Extend.</em><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/03/sleeping-dogs-yips-onto-playstation-plus-may-7/">Sleeping Dogs yips onto PlayStation Plus May 7</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 03 May 2013 08:40:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fatal-frame-2"><em>Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly</em></a> will <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/05/02/fatal-frame-2-hits-psn-tuesday-series-director-speaks/">arrive on PlayStation Network</a> next Tuesday. Upping the ante on the original <em>Fatal Frame</em>'s haunted mansion, <em>Fatal Frame 2</em> stars a pair of twins investigating an entire haunted village. The series' trademark Camera Obscura returns, allowing players to exorcise evil, terrifying spirits merely by taking their picture. The catch: The closer the ghost is, the more damage it takes and the more points you get for upgrading the camera.<br />
<br />
In other words, if you want to be really good at Fatal Frame, you'll have to be willing to scare yourself as much as possible. The original <em>Fatal Frame</em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/07/fatal-frame-snaps-a-selfie-on-psn-this-week/">came to PSN last month</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/02/fatal-frame-2-comes-into-focus-on-psn-next-week/">Fatal Frame 2 comes into focus on PSN next week</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 02 May 2013 16:15:00 EST. <em>Grand Theft Auto</em> and <em>Grand Theft Auto 2 </em>have been rated for PlayStation devices by the ESRB, implying that the two classic crime games are on the way to the PlayStation Network. Yup, if you're as surprised as we are this hadn't happened already, join us in the boat.<br />
<br />
Curiously, rumors of <em>GTA</em> and <em>GTA 2</em> coming to PSN go <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/13/rumor-classic-gta-street-fighter-alpha-coming-to-psn/">all the way back to February 2008</a>, when Official PlayStation Magazine first heard whispers. The other rumored game from that same article, <em>Street Fighter Alpha</em>, arrived in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/12/street-fighter-alpha-finally-hitting-psn-on-thursday/">August 2008</a>. GTA certainly took its time.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/01/grand-theft-auto-1-and-2-rated-for-playstation-platforms/">Grand Theft Auto 1 and 2 rated for PlayStation platforms</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 01 May 2013 09:20:00 EST. A boxed physical version will be shipped to preorder customers an estimated 4-8 weeks after preorders close on May 8th.<br /><br />Published in partnership with MonkeyPaw Games, <i>Class of Heroes 2</i> is a first-person, <i>Wizardry</i>-like dungeon crawler with a focus on character customization. A <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/28/monkeypaw-and-gaijinworks-kickstart-a-class-of-heroes-2-localiza/">Kickstarter project</a> for a proposed deluxe edition didn't reach its funding goal, but a limited physical release entered production after meeting with a positive fan response.<br /><br />"[<i>Class of Heroes 2</i> is] not out of QA yet, but I'd imagine it should be up on PSN about the 3rd week in May, and the physical a few weeks after that," Gaijinworks founder Victor Ireland <a href="http://www.gaijinworks.com/interact/showthread.php?24-Class-of-Heroes-2-presales-are-live&amp;p=539&amp;viewfull=1#post539">notes</a>. Since then, a number of sequel titles have debuted for platforms including the PlayStation 3 and Nintendo 3DS. To date, only the first PSP entry in the series has seen a North American release.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/29/class-of-heroes-2-physical-digital-combo-pack-now-up-for-preorde/">Class of Heroes 2 physical/digital combo pack now up for preorder</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 29 Apr 2013 19:00:00 EST. It stars a group of kid campers, designed to resemble vinyl toys, instead of tree trunk-sized men. And it's for Vita!<br /><br />Basically, Epic should be using this game to demonstrate the flexibility of the engine.<br /><br />Lucid Games' new puzzler is the story of a shy kid who goes off to summer camp, and is miserable, until he discovers Bigfoot! Then something something puzzles.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/26/jacob-jones-and-the-bigfoot-mystery-is-an-unreal-puzzle-game-for/">Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery is an Unreal puzzle game for Vita</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 26 Apr 2013 13:00:00 EST. Ubisoft's standalone shooter celebrates the endearingly excessive sci-fi action of a bygone era in entertainment, when men wore cyber-armor over cyber-arms and when eyes glowed red.<br /><br />An animated introduction transports us to the post-apocalyptic near future... <em>of 2007</em>. Our new cyborg hero is sent to an island to take out a rogue terrorist group - full of <em>evil</em> cyborgs. The intro has music so pungent of <em>Terminator 2</em> that I half expect it to tell me it'll be back, and the first 10 or so minutes are filled with references to sci-fi and action movies from in and around the 1980s. <em>Blood Dragon </em>pays homage to an era full of sci-fi missteps and overblown heroes exuding machismo.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/far-cry-3-blood-dragon-4-18-13/">Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon (4/18/13)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/far-cry-3-blood-dragon-4-18-13/#5823491"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/04/fc3bd-chopperturretnologogold_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/far-cry-3-blood-dragon-4-18-13/#5823492"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/04/fc3bd-dragoniconicnologogold_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/far-cry-3-blood-dragon-4-18-13/#5823493"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/04/fc3bd-explosivepausenologogold_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/far-cry-3-blood-dragon-4-18-13/#5823494"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/04/fc3bd-pistolactionnologogold_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/far-cry-3-blood-dragon-4-18-13/#5823495"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/04/fc3bd-vistanologogold_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/23/far-cry-3-blood-dragon-welcomes-you-to-the-retro-party/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon welcomes you to the retro party</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/23/far-cry-3-blood-dragon-welcomes-you-to-the-retro-party/">Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon welcomes you to the retro party</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 23 Apr 2013 16:00:00 EST.
