Some of us prefer to hide our geekiness, fearing a loss of social status and reduced favor with the opposite sex. Others know that such things are mere <em>trifles</em>, and display their dorkdom with honor and pride. For those of the latter, we would point you to a <a href="http://www.instructables.com/id/SK2939FF23Z37FW/">step-by-step walkthrough</a> of how to make your very own tetromino ice cubes. Yes, it must be <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/30/tetris-goes-3d-but-better-than-welltris/"><em>Tetris </em>craft week</a> all around the intertron.<br /><br />The steps are clearly written and easy to follow, but some woodwork and silicone supplies are required. If you're a handyman (or woman), go make yourself some cubes: they'll go wonderfully with that Russian vodka. Just kidding. We mean pop. <br /><br />(<em>Punch Out!!</em> reference FTW)<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/31/tetris-ice-cubes-for-the-remarkably-unashamed/">Tetris ice cubes for the remarkably unashamed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 31 May 2007 10:00:00 EST. We must say, we like this idea better than passwords! And involving physical <em>artifacts</em> in gameplay makes the whole experience a little more special.<br /><br />Still, something is nagging at us. It's a <em>card</em> used to input <em>data </em>into a <em>computer.</em> How can it seem so innovative? It's basically 18th-century <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punch_card">technology</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/08/first-look-at-a-spectrobes-punch-card/">First look at a Spectrobes "punch card"</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 08 Mar 2007 11:00:00 EST. The likelihood of an original game hitting the Wii is high as Nintendo originally filed the patent on April 1st, 2005, under the category "electronic game discs," leaving those speculating on a VC release of the game in the dark once again.<br /><br />So, if Nintendo were to put out a new <em>Punch-Out!!</em> game on the Wii, would you want it to control like <em>Wii Sports: Boxing</em>? Or do you have a better control scheme in mind?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/01/30/nintendo-refreshes-punch-out-patent-provides-hope/">Nintendo refreshes Punch-Out!! patent, provides hope</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 30 Jan 2007 14:45:00 EST. Pricing for consoles has steadily climbed over the years, and it will certainly climb higher for this generation as well. I will say that I think selling any game console for $450 to $500 is downright suicidal, so it probably won't happen. And when I turn out to be wrong and you're dropping five Ben Franklins on a PS3, feel free to punch me in the stomach. Please. I'll welcome it.</em>" -Gamespot's Alex Navarro<br /><br />While we're normally not ones to revel in the misfortune of others (well, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/02/22/former-gizmondo-exec-involved-in-ferrari-enzo-crash/">sometimes</a>), we feel compelled to share <a href="http://www.gamespot.com/pages/profile/video_player.php?user=AlexN&amp;id=InFnnmfx5bsPsjM">this video</a> of Gamespot staffer Alex Navarro eating crow. One caveat: there is a serious conflict of interest here. You see, Navarro was punched by Gamespot's own Brian Eckberg (a fact made more clear by his Gamespot emblazoned hoodie). While we'll reserve judgment regarding the veracity of the gut-punch, we'd urge them to enlist a willing third-party (Joystiq staffers?) to deliver the punch, if only to ensure fairness. Another suggestion: trust Uncle <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2005/07/06/sony-wants-you-to-earn-that-playstation-3/">Ken</a> next time.<br /><br />[Thanks, Fuzz]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/30/gamespot-gets-gut-punched-for-ps3-price-promise/">Gamespot gets gut-punched for PS3 price promise</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 30 May 2006 12:57:00 EST.
