Entitled <em>Fallblox</em> (the original <em>Pushmo</em> is called <em>Pullblox</em> in Europe), the game puts a new twist on the <em>Pushmo</em> formula.<br /><br />Rather than simply pulling blocks from the background, blocks can now be pushed and pulled in any direction. Depending on how the blocks are pushed, others may even fall. The video showcased a player moving three differently-sized blocks in order to create a staircase.<br /><br /><em>Fallblox</em> is slated to arrive in Europe this November. We've contacted Nintendo to see if it will head to North America as well. Just in case you glossed over the rest of this article: <em>New Pushmo!</em><br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> Nintendo has just announced that the sequel is indeed headed to North America, where it will be titled <em>Crashmo</em>. It's set to hit the eShop on November 22.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/04/pushmo-sequel-fallblox-heading-to-3ds-in-november/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Pushmo sequel 'Fallblox' heading to 3DS in November [update: In North America Nov. 22]</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/04/pushmo-sequel-fallblox-heading-to-3ds-in-november/">Pushmo sequel 'Fallblox' heading to 3DS in November [update: In North America Nov. 22]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 04 Oct 2012 14:40:00 EST. If you were interested in this game, but didn't buy it on DS because of faith that an iOS version would follow, I'm holding you personally responsible for the foundering sales of my favorite game of 2011. Live with that.<br />
	<br />
	This came out in January, and I still have yet to experience anything so fresh, so unique, as Shu Takumi's side-scrolling adventure/puzzle game. Its comically unpredictable (but predictably comical) storyline cascades toward a twist that shouldn't work, its gameplay turns everyday objects like ceiling fans and globes into methods of both traversal and interaction, as you observe and influence the lives of a cast of bizarre characters from within their phone lines, headphones and wrecking balls.<br />
	<br />
	I can't mention this game without mentioning its beyond perfect animation, which gave a jazzy flourish to every movement of every character. The act of serving chicken never seemed so stylish.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/02/best-of-the-rest-jcs-picks-of-2011/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Best of the Rest: JC's picks of 2011</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/02/best-of-the-rest-jcs-picks-of-2011/">Best of the Rest: JC's picks of 2011</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 02 Jan 2012 17:00:00 EST. <font color="#808080">Did you know that you can download handheld games now? That's <em>amazingly</em> convenient! The only inconvenient part of it is finding the right games to buy -- and that's where we come in, with our <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/portabliss">Portabliss</a> column. In each installment, we'll tell you about a downloadable game on the iPhone, iPad, Android device, DSi, 3DS, PSP, etc. Today: <span style="font-style: italic;">Pushmo.</span></font></div>

I'm sorry it's taken me so long to address <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/pushmo"><em>Pushmo</em></a>. I feel bad thinking that there's some hypothetical person out there who may not be playing <em>Pushmo</em> yet, simply because Joystiq hasn't put its seal of approval on it. I'm not being conceited, just worrying that such a thing is <em>possible</em>.<br />
<br />
Intelligent Systems' <em>Pushmo</em> is definitely one of the best games on the 3DS, and one of the best puzzle games released this year. It's this year's <em>Picross 3D</em>. And it's seven dollars.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pushmo-3ds-eshop/">Pushmo (3DS eShop)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pushmo-3ds-eshop/#4666511"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/i31857_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pushmo-3ds-eshop/#4666512"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/i31858_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pushmo-3ds-eshop/#4666513"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/i31859_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pushmo-3ds-eshop/#4666514"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/i31860_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pushmo-3ds-eshop/#4666515"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/i31861_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/30/portabliss-pushmo-3ds-eshop/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Portabliss: Pushmo (3DS eShop)</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/30/portabliss-pushmo-3ds-eshop/">Portabliss: Pushmo (3DS eShop)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 30 Dec 2011 20:40:00 EST. Nintendo brings another original, downloadable 3DS game to the eShop, inspiring ... not quite cautious optimism, but a cautious lessening of pessimism. Intelligent Systems' <em>Pushmo</em> is a puzzler about pulling stacked 3D blocks into and out of the screen to make climbing paths. It makes sense for a puzzle game on 3DS!<br />
<br />
On WiiWare, we finally have the opportunity to try out RedLynx's <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/motoheroz"><em>MotoHeroz</em></a> without paying $15 for the privilege.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pushmo-3ds-eshop/">Pushmo (3DS eShop)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pushmo-3ds-eshop/#4666511"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/i31857_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pushmo-3ds-eshop/#4666512"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/i31858_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pushmo-3ds-eshop/#4666513"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/i31859_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pushmo-3ds-eshop/#4666514"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/i31860_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pushmo-3ds-eshop/#4666515"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/i31861_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/08/nintendoware-weekly-pushmo/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NintendoWare Weekly: Pushmo</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/08/nintendoware-weekly-pushmo/">NintendoWare Weekly: Pushmo</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 08 Dec 2011 12:25:00 EST. If you've been waiting to try out <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/09/picture-lives-is-e3s-weirdest-game/"><em>Picture Lives</em></a>, the build-it-yourself 3DS platform adventure thing I called "E3's weirdest game," you'll be able to do so in November. Nintendo announced the release window for the downloadable game -- now called <em>Freakyforms: Your Creations, Alive!</em> -- today as part of its 3DS info dump. That game will be $6.99 upon release.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/10/the-rolling-western-rolls-up-genres-in-an-armadillo-shell/"><em>The Rolling Western</em></a>, the action-tower-defense game about an armadillo cowboy, is now <em>Dillon's Rolling Western</em>, and it's coming in Q1 of next year. <em>Pushmo</em> is a new puzzle game that just <a href="http://www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/eshop/jcaj/index.html">came out in Japan</a>, developed by Intelligent Systems, about pushing and pulling blocks in and out of the screen to solve puzzles. That's coming to North America in December.<br />
<br />
Finally, Swapnote is a messaging service that allows you to draw 3D messages, with pictures and sounds, and send them over the internet or StreetPass. Nintendo's going to regret allowing you to send filth directly to neighboring 3DS systems when this comes out for free in December.<br />
<br />
You can see footage of all four of these releases in the new <a href="http://www.nintendo.com/nintendo_direct">Nintendo Direct</a> video. That's a new thing Nintendo is trying -- a video in which the company just tells people about new announcements.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/21/rolling-western-more-3ds-download-games-dated/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Rolling Western, more 3DS download games dated</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/21/rolling-western-more-3ds-download-games-dated/">Rolling Western, more 3DS download games dated</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 21 Oct 2011 10:45:00 EST.
