The monsters of <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/resident-evil-revelations"><em>Resident Evil: Revelations</em></a> will arrive in Europe on January 27, and they'll bring another monster along with them: the 3DS-enlarging Circle Pad Pro. <a href="http://www.nintendo.co.uk/NOE/en_GB/news/2011/are_you_ready_for_the_revelations_ahead_46923.html">Nintendo UK</a> announced today that the 3DS attachment will be bundled with a "special limited edition" package of Capcom's horror game. <em>Revelations</em> will also be sold separately.<br />
<br />
This is the first official announcement of a release date for the peripheral outside of Japan. Capcom USA has <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/31/a-circle-pad-revelation-for-resident-evil-revelations/">shown the game</a> to US press with the attachment, indicating future availability in North America. Capcom USA also said there were <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/31/resident-evil-revelations-supports-save-data-reset-no-plans-fo/">no plans</a> for a Circle Pad Pro/<em>Revelations </em>bundle here.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/30/resident-evil-revelations-bundled-with-circle-pad-pro-in-europe/">Resident Evil: Revelations bundled with Circle Pad Pro in Europe</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 30 Nov 2011 14:00:00 EST. We suspect publishers were as surprised as everyone else when Sony <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/18/playstation-vita-to-launch-in-north-america-on-february-22/">announced</a> the worldwide PlayStation Vita launch dates at the Web 2.0 Summit.<br />
<br />
Two days after that unexpected reveal, Namco Bandai is officially putting that February 22 date on its own launch games: <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/ridge-racer-vita">Ridge Racer</a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/shinobido-2-revenge-of-zen">Shinobido 2: Revenge of Zen</a></em>, and the new <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/16/katamari-damacy-vita-details-revealed-things-get-stretchy/"><em>Katamari</em> game</a>, which has been given the amusing title of <em>Touch My Katamari</em> for its western release. Of course, all Vita games will be sold digitally, saving you from the nightmare of asking a retail clerk for <em>Touch My Katamari</em>. Namco announced these dates for North America, and Sony has <a href="http://twitter.com/#!/PlayStationEU/statuses/127051907863822337">confirmed</a> they're accurate for Europe as well.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/touch-my-katamari-10-20-11/">Touch My Katamari (10/20/11)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/touch-my-katamari-10-20-11/#4544595"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/10/boysroom2-1319132507_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/touch-my-katamari-10-20-11/#4544596"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/10/boysroom5-1319132507_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/touch-my-katamari-10-20-11/#4544597"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/10/slacker5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/touch-my-katamari-10-20-11/#4544598"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/10/smallpark5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/touch-my-katamari-10-20-11/#4544599"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/10/smallpark10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/20/ridge-racer-shinobido-and-touch-my-katamari-launching-al/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Ridge Racer, Shinobido, and ... Sony announced that it sold 1.8 million PS3s worldwide between April 1 and June 30 (Q1 for Sony), a drop of around 600K from Q1 of FY 2010. Though numbers may have slipped, Sony is still predicting an uptick in sales for the whole of FY 2011: 15 million PS3s as compared to 14.3 in the year prior. On the games side, Sony fared a little better with 26.1 million PS3 games sold versus 24.8 in last year's first three months.<br />
<br />
The real success story for Sony's console business is the PSP, which moved 1.8 million systems in the first quarter. That's compared to 700K during the same time period <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/28/nintendo-cuts-profit-forecast-by-82/">for the Nintendo 3DS</a> and the 1.2 million PSPs sold in Q1 FY 2010.<br />
<br />
In closing: Nintendo really needs a <em>Monster Hunter</em> game on 3DS.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/28/1-8-million-ps3-1-8-million-psp-units-sold-from-april-june/">1.8 million PS3, 1.8 million PSP units sold from April-June</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 28 Jul 2011 14:00:00 EST. Market research firm <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/NPD/">NPD</a> estimates that consumers spent $5.9 billion on video games in the first quarter of 2011, a 1.5 percent increase from the same period of last year. That doesn't mean everything is unicorns and rainbows, since the comparison is to <em>2010</em>, the second consecutive year to see <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/17/gamasutra-and-npd-on-2010s-game-retail-decline/">declines in consumer spending</a>. The "glass half full" perspective would be that it seems like things aren't immediately <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/layoffs">worse</a>.<br />
<br />
NPD analyst Anita Frazier notes that the new physical retail channel (translation: new games that come in a box) still makes up a majority of industry sales, as the market research firm <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/17/npd-acknowledges-confusion-during-industrys-unprecedented-tr/">tries to get a good grip on digital sales data</a>. The company estimates the total spent on "used games, game rentals, subscriptions, digital full-game downloads, social network games, downloadable content, and mobile games" to be $1.85 billion during the first quarter.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/11/npd-estimates-5-9b-in-game-sales-in-first-quarter/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NPD estimates $5.9B in game sales in first quarter</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/11/npd-estimates-5-9b-in-game-sales-in-first-quarter/">NPD estimates $5.9B in game sales in first quarter</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 11 Jul 2011 16:10:00 EST. The recent <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/call-of-duty-black-ops"><em>Call of Duty: Black Ops</em></a> "Escalation" DLC has taken the crown at GameStop <a href="http://www.industrygamers.com/news/gamestop-dlc-just-as-important-now/">as its largest DLC launch ever</a>, according to the company's latest earnings call. The map pack sold 50,000 copies as pre-orders and 200,000 in store during the first week of availability. Digital sales in general are on the rise at the retailer as well, growing 53 percent year-over-year.<br />
<br />
The first quarter of 2011 was a good one for GameStop overall, as the company reported record sales of $2.28 billion. HD console games were a big driver, as was the Nintendo 3DS launch, combined with a solid 9.5 percent growth in "pre-owned" (read: used) games and accessories. <em>Pok&eacute;mon Black</em> and <em>White</em> were the top titles of the quarter, with <em>Mortal Kombat</em>, <em>Marvel vs. Capcom 3</em>, <em>Black Ops</em> and <em>Homefront</em> filling out the top five.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/20/escalation-marks-gamestops-biggest-dlc-launch-in-record-first-q/">Escalation marks GameStop's biggest DLC launch in record first quarter</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 20 May 2011 00:00:00 EST. Though we still don't know exactly what it will be, Grasshopper has revealed in advance what it's called: <em>Frog Minutes</em>. Those two words don't really help us figure the game out that well. Nor does the logo, posted by <a href="http://www.famitsu.com/news/201103/26041630.html">Famitsu</a>.<br />
<br />
We won't have to wait too long to find out what it is: Grasshopper announced that in addition to being premiered at the event, the app will be available for download on the App Store on March 30. All proceeds will go to the Japanese Red Cross, to support victims of the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/28/grasshoppers-charity-ios-game-is-frog-minutes-coming-march-30/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Grasshopper's charity iOS game is Frog Minutes, coming March 30</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/28/grasshoppers-charity-ios-game-is-frog-minutes-coming-march-30/">Grasshopper's charity iOS game is Frog Minutes, coming March 30</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 28 Mar 2011 13:20:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/back-to-the-future"><em>Back to the Future</em></a> returns to <em>our</em> relatively recent past (the protagonist's present) in "Citizen Brown," the third episode in the series, available next week for PC and Mac. In the latest episode, Marty and Doc Brown get back to 1986 to find they've mucked up the timeline again ... and not in the fun "Biff washing dad's car" kinda way. Now they must deal with a powerful version of Doc Brown, but will he be friend or foe?<br />
<br />
<em>BttF</em> Episode 2: "Get Tannen!" will also be available <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/18/back-to-the-future-episode-2-travels-to-psn-on-march-29/">next Tuesday on PSN</a>. An email newsletter sent out by Telltale states that information about the European PSN and iPad launch dates for the second episode is "coming soon."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/22/back-to-the-futures-third-episode-citizen-brown-available-nex/">Back to the Future's third episode 'Citizen Brown' available next week</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 Mar 2011 15:30:00 EST. Somehow, Square Enix seems to have been convinced to <em>actually</em> release its old games on PSOne Classics. Last week's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/15/psn-tuesday-slam-bolt-scrappers-mortal-kombat-demo/"><em>Parasite Eve</em></a> is being followed with another gem out of the company's back catalog this week: <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legend_of_Mana"><em>Legend of Mana</em></a>. <br />
<br />
The sidequest-heavy, somewhat open-ended <em>Legend</em>, which allows players to use "Artifacts" to create and then explore in-game areas, may not have been as well-received as the SNES's <em>Secret of Mana</em>, but it's certainly not a bad game either. And it's much better suited for PSOne Classics release anyway, since it <em>was a PlayStation game</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/21/legend-of-mana-hits-psone-classics-this-week/">Legend of Mana hits PSOne Classics this week</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 21 Mar 2011 15:25:00 EST. At this point it's hard to call this <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/call-of-duty-black-ops">Call of Duty: Black Ops</a> </em>DLC "First Strike" with a straight face, since it <em>first struck</em> on Xbox <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/19/call-of-duty-black-ops-first-strike-dlc/">a month ago</a>, and then on PS3 on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/09/black-ops-first-strike-ps3-date/">March 3</a>. Ironic name or not, it's finally coming to PC on March 25, according to a tweeted <a href="http://twitter.com/#!/JD_2020/status/49891637823934464">announcement</a> by Treyarch's Josh Olin.<br />
<br />
As Olin mentions in the tweet, you can pre-purchase the DLC right now through Steam. Though you don't strictly need to secure your copy of a digital-only product ahead of time, since there's no concern about scarcity, you <em>do</em> save $1.50 by doing so.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/21/call-of-duty-black-ops-first-strike-pc-release-date/">Call of Duty: Black Ops 'First Strike' DLC on PC March 25</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 21 Mar 2011 14:25:00 EST. You might remember <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/moon-diver"><em>Moon Diver</em></a> under its previous title <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/10/moon-diver-now-called-necromachina-added-to-square-enix-e3-li/"><em>Necromachina</em></a>, or the title before that, <em>Moon Diver</em>. Or you might just remember it as "that game that looks like a four-player <em>Strider</em>." That's no coincidence, by the way -- it's actually designed by Koichi Yotsui, who was one of the leads on <em>Strider</em>.<br />
<br />
According to a list of upcoming releases sneaked into Sony's Spring Fever promotion <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/03/08/spring-fever-is-back-on-playstation-network/">announcement</a>, <em>Moon Diver</em> will plunge onto the PlayStation Network on March 29. No release date has been mentioned for XBLA yet -- not that we're surprised the PlayStation Blog would refrain from volunteering that.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/08/moon-diver-strides-to-psn-march-29/">Moon Diver strides to PSN March 29</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 08 Mar 2011 22:00:00 EST. Even if you haven't seen <em>Superbrothers: Sword &amp; Sworcery EP</em>, the collaboration between Capy, musician Jim Guthrie, and artist Craig "Superbrothers" Adams, it's likely you've acquired the method to receive it.<br />
<br />
The trailer after the break purports that, no matter why you thought you were purchasing that iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad -- "internet?" -- you were actually implicitly preparing to welcome the indie action-adventure game into your life. After actually seeing it, you might even decide to buy it! Consciously -- <em>volitionally</em>!<br />
<br />
The trailer hints at a release around the vernal equinox, which is March 20 for those of you not as attuned to nature as we are.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/25/prepare-to-find-out-youre-already-prepared-for-superbrothers-sw/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Prepare to find out you're already prepared for Superbrothers Sword &amp; Sworcery EP</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/25/prepare-to-find-out-youre-already-prepared-for-superbrothers-sw/">Prepare to find out you're already prepared for Superbrothers Sword &amp; Sworcery EP</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 25 Feb 2011 23:00:00 EST. Ubisoft has confirmed with Joystiq that the PC version of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/assassins-creed-brotherhood"><em>Assassin's Creed Brotherhood</em></a> will be playable in offline single-player mode after an initial login, quelling fears that <em>Brotherhood</em> would employ <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/19/ubisoft-explains-assassins-creed-2-pc-drm-restrictions/">the same restrictive DRM</a> as <em>Assassin's Creed 2</em>. Additionally, the PC version of <em>Brotherhood </em>will arrive on March 22 (a few days later than the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/16/assassins-creed-brotherhood-hits-pc-march-17-steam-pre-orders/">previously suggested</a> date). You may want to use those few extra days to sharpen your cutlery and brush up on your Italiano -- or, like, go to the Olive Garden for dinner or something. <br />
<br />
Ubisoft has also detailed the technical specifications (posted after the break) required to play <em>Brotherhood</em> on a PC, as well as two retail versions of the PC release: a standard edition for $50, which includes <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/24/assassins-creed-brotherhood-dlc/">the two</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/18/assassins-creed-brotherhood-animus-project-update-2-0-coming/">multiplayer updates</a> and the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/17/assassins-creed-brotherhood-getting-the-da-vinci-disappearanc/">Da Vinci Disappearance DLC</a>; and a digital-only "Deluxe Edition" for $60 that adds two extra multiplayer characters, two single-player maps, an extra skin and "additional multimedia content."<br />

<em>Dance on Broadway</em>, Ubisoft's great white way spin-off of its <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/14/dance-games-made-it-rain-on-ubisofts-holiday-quarter/">amazingly popular</a> <em>Just Dance</em> series, will let the sunshine in on PlayStation 3 next month, utilizing the Move. The singular sensation will be available on March 15 in the States, March 17 in Canada. The PS3 version appears to add a few more songs than those found in the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/01/ubisofts-dance-on-broadway-hitting-the-great-white-wii/">Wii game</a>.<br />
<br />
The game's initial setlist of 25 songs, which includes such famous show tunes as "Fame" (<em>Fame</em>), "Time Warp" (<em>The Rocky Horror Show</em>) and "You Can't Stop the Beat" (<em>Hairspray</em>), will be expandable with tracks downloaded from PSN. Clearly, DLC is a cabaret for Ubisoft, since it knows that money makes the world go 'round, world go 'round.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/17/dance-on-broadway-performs-with-move-this-march/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Dance on Broadway performs with Move this March</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/17/dance-on-broadway-performs-with-move-this-march/">Dance on Broadway performs with Move this March</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 17 Feb 2011 20:20:00 EST. "Our apologies for the delay but it's going to be worth it!" That "unruly evil" that Gabriel and Laura track down in the DLC is only going to be more unruly the longer we let it stew.<br />
<br />
Konami offered no reason for the delay, but a late, complete DLC pack is always preferable to a buggy, punctual release. It is also unknown whether this delay will cause the followup DLC to slip out of its April release window. We're checking in with Konami to find out when it has scheduled the "Resurrection."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/17/castlevania-lords-of-shadow-reverie-dlc-delayed-until-march/">Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 'Reverie' DLC delayed until March</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 17 Feb 2011 10:00:00 EST. Ridge Racer Type 4, originally released in North America in 1999, will be available on the PlayStation Store next month, playable on both PSP and PS3.<br />
<br />
Unfortunately for those of you who want the true <em>Ridge Racer Type 4</em> experience, neither the PS3 nor PSP will allow you to connect your <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jogcon">JogCon</a> controller. You won't be able to have the realistic feeling of driving a car using a small dial.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/16/ridge-racer-type-4-coming-to-psone-classics/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Ridge Racer Type 4 coming to PSOne Classics</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/16/ridge-racer-type-4-coming-to-psone-classics/">Ridge Racer Type 4 coming to PSOne Classics</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 16 Feb 2011 19:30:00 EST. Ubisoft forum manager Mr_Shade announced the release dates for the PC version of <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/assassins-creed-brotherhood">Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood</a></em> on the game's <a href="http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/5251069024/m/3321043019">UK board</a>: March 17 for the US (and "certain EMEA territories") and March 18 for the UK.<br />

Pre-ordering the game from <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/48190/">Steam</a> will earn you a free upgrade to the "Digital Deluxe Edition," which includes playable Harlequin and Officer characters, the "Trajan Market" and "Aqueduct" maps (they're similar to the linear "Lairs of Romulus" sections), the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/assassins-creed-lineage"><em>Assassin's Creed Lineage</em></a> movie, and various other bonuses. Along with the full list of freebies, Steam also posted the required specs -- be sure to check those out before you place your order.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/16/assassins-creed-brotherhood-hits-pc-march-17-steam-pre-orders/">Assassin's Creed Brotherhood hits PC March 17, Steam pre-orders include bonuses</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 16 Feb 2011 11:25:00 EST. Those are the dates when <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/bit-trip-flux">Bit. Trip Flux</a></em> will be released on WiiWare.<br />
<br />
In the announcement of the release dates, Gaijin's Alex Neuse revealed that there is no "Game Over" result in <em>Flux</em> -- which is a pretty sharp contrast from the other five <em>Bit.Trip</em> games, in which "game over" is basically the natural state. "To help tell the story of CommanderVideo's transition back to The Source," he said, "we wanted to convey the point that it is an unstoppable pull which draws him home. For this reason, there is no Game Over."<br />
<em><br />
Flux</em> is designed to be completed in a single session, something that "most players" will be able to do. The challenge will be in reaching and sustaining the "Meta Mode" for as long as possible by hitting consecutive beats. "But the primary goal of <em>Flux</em> is to be an exploration of visual beauty, aural splendor, graceful gameplay, and how it feels to be lost in the beauty of life," Neuse added, "while reminiscing about all the events that led CommanderVideo to this, his purest form."<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/14/bit-trip-flux-release-date/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Bit.Trip Flux keeps CommanderVideo alive Feb. 28</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/14/bit-trip-flux-release-date/">Bit.Trip Flux keeps CommanderVideo alive Feb. 28</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 14 Feb 2011 18:20:00 EST. Today, during an earnings release, the company narrowed down the release dates for many of those titles, at least in Europe.<br />
<br />
According to the document, <em>Asphalt 3D</em>, <em>Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D</em>, <em>Rabbids 3D</em>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/19/rayman-3d-is-an-adaptation-of-rayman-2/"><em>Rayman 3D</em></a>, <em>Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell 3D</em>, and <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/25/ghost-recon-shadow-wars-for-3ds-detailed-by-creative-lead/">Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars</a></em> will all be released in EMEA territories in the quarter ending March 31. Since the 3DS will be out in Europe on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/19/3ds-to-launch-in-europe-on-march-25/">March 25</a>, we can safely call all six of these "launch games." As for North America, the document says only "US 3DS line-up to be confirmed later." However, if all of these games are done in time for the European launch, we can probably expect to see all of them in North America around late March too.<br />
<br />
This list leaves off two announced Ubisoft 3DS titles: <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/screenshots/james-noir-3ds-1-19-11/#/0">James Noir's Hollywood Crimes</a> </em>and <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/screenshots/james-noir-3ds-1-19-11/#/0">Driver Renegade</a></em>. Couldn't get all <em>eight </em>games ready at once? We're disappointed, Ubisoft. Only <em>six</em> is an embarrassment.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/14/ubisoft-releasing-six-3ds-games-for-european-launch/">Ubisoft releasing six 3DS games for European launch</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 14 Feb 2011 15:30:00 EST. The<em> Halo: Reach </em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/09/defiant-map-pack-halo-reach-rumor/"><em>"Defiant" Map Pack</em></a>, first seen in leaked images last week, has been officially revealed by Microsoft as a set of three new multiplayer maps, available next month for 800 Microsoft Points. <br />
<br />
"Condemned," set on a space station above the planet Reach, is designed for 6-12 players in various team modes and Free for All, while "Highlands" is a Big Team Battle, Team Slayer, and Team Objective map set in the "Wilderness Training Preserve" on the planet. Finally, "Unearthed" is a new Firefight map set inside a titanium mine. he map pack includes new Achievements to the value of 150 Gamerscore.<br />
<br />
It's worth noting that the maps were created "in partnership" with <em>Age of Booty </em>developer Certain Affinity, a team of Bungie vets that has made maps for <em>Call of Duty: Black Ops,</em> <em>World at War</em>, and <em>Halo 2</em>.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/halo-reach-defiant-map-pack/">Halo: Reach Defiant Map Pack</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/halo-reach-defiant-map-pack/#3879615"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/02/unearthedaction05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/halo-reach-defiant-map-pack/#3879616"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/02/unearthedaction04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/halo-reach-defiant-map-pack/#3879618"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/02/highlandsaction04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/halo-reach-defiant-map-pack/#3879619"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/02/highlandsaction01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/halo-reach-defiant-map-pack/#3879620"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/02/condemnedsword-hall_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/14/halo-reach-defiant-map-pack/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Halo: Reach 'Defiant Map Pack' offers three new maps in March</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/14/halo-reach-defiant-map-pack/">Halo: Reach 'Defiant Map Pack' offers three new maps in March</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 14 Feb 2011 09:30:00 EST. First, it's being developed not by Million -- the company built from the original Technos team that made <em>Double Dragon</em> -- but by mobile game developer <a href="http://www.brizo-interactive.com/en_index.html">Brizo Interactive</a>.<br />
<br />
Second, and most troubling ... it's an iPhone game. Aksys promises an "easy-to-use on-screen controller and combo system," but we're justifiably wary of any kind of beat-em-up port for iPhone -- especially since the "controller" looks a lot like a regular old virtual pad and buttons in the screenshots. Still, we like the Neo Geo-esque visual makeover.<br />
<br />
We'll find out if this remake <em>Double Dragon</em> is good or Abobo-minable when it comes out in March.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/double-dragon-iphone/">Double Dragon iPhone</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/double-dragon-iphone/#3871383"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/02/0_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/double-dragon-iphone/#3871385"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/02/1-1297440482_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/double-dragon-iphone/#3871386"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/02/2-1297440483_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/double-dragon-iphone/#3871387"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/02/3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/double-dragon-iphone/#3871388"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/02/4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/11/double-dragon-iphone-remake/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Double Dragon iPhone remake due out in March</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/11/double-dragon-iphone-remake/">Double Dragon iPhone remake due out in March</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 11 Feb 2011 11:31:00 EST. Q-Games just announced that the sequel, which adds an online versus mode and three new worlds, will be released on March 1.<br />
<br />
In the announcement on the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/02/10/pixeljunk-shooter-2-will-be-released-march-1st/">PlayStation Blog</a>, Q-Games president Dylan Cuthbert teased "very interesting things" the company plans to announce in the next few weeks. It's likely to be good news for fans of HD games with tiny, tiny sprites.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/10/pixeljunk-shooter-2-spills-onto-psn-march-1/">PixelJunk Shooter 2 spills onto PSN March 1</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 10 Feb 2011 18:45:00 EST. The Walt Disney Company has <a href="http://dolimg.com/investorrelations/webcasts/q1-earnings-2011_545134GJB1.pdf">reported its earnings</a> for the first quarter of 2011, and the Interactive Media department saw revenues increase 58 percent from last year over the same period, to $349 million. Despite "higher sales of console games" this year (<a href="http://joystiq.com/game/epic-mickey"><em>Epic Mickey</em></a> and <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/toy-story-3"><em>Toy Story 3</em></a> are cited as part of the "strong performance"), the company says that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/27/disney-acquires-social-game-dev-playdom-for-563-2m/">the acquisition of Playdom</a> nevertheless led to a segment operating results loss of $13 million, an increase from the $10 million loss the year before.<br />
<br />
In other words, Disney Interactive is doing better, but was still brought down by what it calls "the impact of acquisition accounting" -- the money spent on Playdom (presumably a one-time cost) sent the department into the red for the quarter.<br />
<br />
Unfortunately, that leaves Interactive Media to be the only division showing a loss for the quarter; Media Networks, Parks and Resorts, Studio Entertainment and Consumer Products all showed nice growth. Disney probably isn't too worried, though. Not that Disney Interactive has another <em>Epic Mickey</em>-sized title coming up that we know about, but the Playdom deal's after-echos are disguising what appears to be some steady growth that the home office will hopefully see for what it is.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/08/disney-interactive-sees-growth-in-q1-2011-despite-acquisition/">Disney Interactive sees growth in Q1 2011 despite 'acquisition accounting'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 08 Feb 2011 20:20:00 EST. Just in the nick of time, Microsoft has announced dates and prices for its month-long <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Xbox-Live-Arcade-House-Party/">Xbox Live Arcade House Party</a> promotion. Things kick off on February 16 with Arc System Works' not-<em>Contra</em> side-scroller, <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/hard-corps-uprising">Hard Corps: Uprising</a></em>, priced at 1200 points ($15), followed by PopCap's <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/bejeweled-blitz">Bejeweled Blitz</a></em> on February 23, for 800 points ($10).<br />
<br />
Things really get moving on March 2, when <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/beyond-good-and-evil-hd">Beyond Good &amp; Evil HD</a></em> is released for the eminently reasonable price of 800 points. The last two releases will undoubtedly gather the most attention: the excellent, heretofore computer-bound, dungeon crawler <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/torchlight">Torchlight</a></em> will be released on March 9 for 1200 points, while Microsoft's Live-enabled <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/full-house-poker">Full House Poker</a></em> makes its debut on March 16 for a surprisingly low 800 points.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/08/xbox-live-house-party-titles-beyond-good-and-evil-hd-torchlight/">Xbox Live House Party titles (Beyond Good &amp; Evil HD, Torchlight) dated, priced</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 08 Feb 2011 14:40:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fallout-new-vegas"><em>Fallout: New Vegas</em></a>' <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/dead-money"><em>Dead Money</em></a> DLC will have PlayStation 3 and PC users playing its vicious little scenario on Tuesday, February 22. PS3 owners can pick it up through the PSN, while PC owners have the choice of Steam and Direct2Drive. Bethesda also mentioned that the next three expansion packs for <em>New Vegas </em>will launch simultaneously on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.<br />
<br />
<em>Dead Money</em> will likely be $10 on PS3 and PC (as it was on Xbox 360), but we're currently following up with Bethesda for confirmation.<br />
<br />
<strong>Update</strong>: Bethesda tells Joystiq that it hasn't announced price for the DLC, but will announce it in the "coming weeks."<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/04/fallout-new-vegas-dead-money-coming-to-pc-and-psn-this-month/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Fallout: New Vegas 'Dead Money' coming to PC and PSN this month</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/04/fallout-new-vegas-dead-money-coming-to-pc-and-psn-this-month/">Fallout: New Vegas 'Dead Money' coming to PC and PSN this month</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 04 Feb 2011 11:30:00 EST. Last time we heard about <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/swarm">Swarm</a></em>, the game was given an "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/18/hotheads-swarm-mindlessly-waddling-to-xbla-and-psn/">early 2011</a>" release window on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network. Today, we have news from developer Hothead Games that the blue crowd control-'em-up will hit digital marketplaces sometime in the month of March.<br />
<br />
Rounding out the release news is a new "Ask Dr. Mike" trailer and several colorful new screens of the adorable little blue hoard in action. If you're looking for a leg up in the game before it arrives later this year, Dr. Mike has a smattering of helpful hints waiting just after the break.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/swarm-2-3-11/">Swarm (2/3/11)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/swarm-2-3-11/#3844500"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/02/swarmaskdrmikeep3screen2-1296748288_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/swarm-2-3-11/#3844501"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/02/swarmaskdrmikeep3screen3-1296748289_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/swarm-2-3-11/#3844502"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/02/swarmaskdrmikeep3screen4-1296748290_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/swarm-2-3-11/#3844503"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/02/swarmaskdrmikeep3screen6-1296748291_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/swarm-2-3-11/#3844504"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/02/swarmaskdrmikeep3screen7-1296748291_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/03/swarm-converging-on-march-launch/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Swarm converging on March launch</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/03/swarm-converging-on-march-launch/">Swarm converging on March launch</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 03 Feb 2011 12:00:00 EST. During THQ's investor call today, president and CEO Brian Farrell repositioned <em>Homefront's</em> launch from March 8 to March 15. A THQ rep confirmed the delay to Joystiq, saying, "We moved our <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/homefront/"><em>Homefront</em></a> launch date by one week to March 15." <br />
<br />
No specific reason was given for the move, but the launches of <em>Pokemon Black </em>&amp;<em> White</em> and <em>Dragon Age 2</em> on March 8 go a long way in explaining it. The rest of THQ's statement seems to reflect our supposition: "We think we have a great opportunity to dominate retail on this date." Tell that to <em>Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's World Championship 2011: Over the Nexus</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/02/homefront-arriving-one-week-late-on-march-15/">Homefront arriving one week late on March 15</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 02 Feb 2011 17:55:00 EST. The iPhone version is available today for $2.99. If you'd like button-ful options, it's also available on Steam, the Wii Virtual Console, in <em>Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection</em> for Xbox 360 and PS3, and the Sega Genesis Collection for PSP and PS2.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/28/now-you-can-play-shinobi-iii-on-your-iphone/">Now you can play Shinobi III on your iPhone</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 28 Jan 2011 04:30:00 EST. <br />
First, Phoenix Online <a href="http://www.tsl-game.com/news.php#article-1">announced</a> a delay for the third episode of the officially Activision-blessed fan series, <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/the-silver-lining">The Silver Lining</a>, </em> from January 29 to early February. In the announcement, the developer claimed that the episode, which is "more than twice the size of Episode 2," and which necessitated the hiring of 20 additional animators, needed extra polish.<br />
<br />
In other "third King's Quest game" news, AGD Interactive announced a <a href="http://www.agdinteractive.com/games/kq3/">fan remake</a> of <em>King's Quest 3: To Heir is Human</em>, which it says it has been "covertly developing" over eight years. The planned release date? February!<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/kings-quest-iii-redux-to-heir-is-human/">King's Quest III Redux: To Heir is Human</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/kings-quest-iii-redux-to-heir-is-human/#3821389"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/rdxscreen1_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/kings-quest-iii-redux-to-heir-is-human/#3821390"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/rdxscreen2_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/kings-quest-iii-redux-to-heir-is-human/#3821391"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/rdxscreen3_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/kings-quest-iii-redux-to-heir-is-human/#3821392"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/rdxscreen4_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/kings-quest-iii-redux-to-heir-is-human/#3821393"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/rdxscreen5_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/26/kings-quest-3-fan-remake-announced-the-silver-lining-episode-3/">King's Quest 3 fan remake announced, The Silver Lining episode 3 delayed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 26 Jan 2011 21:00:00 EST. Please excuse us if a bit too much childlike excitement comes through in today's news that fresh takes on <em>The Oregon Trail</em> and <em>Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?</em> will be released for Facebook early next month. <a href="http://www.next-gen.biz/news/the-oregon-trail-carmen-sandiego-set-for-facebook">Next-Gen.biz</a> spotted a note revealing the two titles on developer Darius Kazemi's <a href="http://tinysubversions.com/2011/01/what-ive-been-working-on-oregon-trail-and-carmen-sandiego/">personal blog</a>, where he expressed his own childlike excitement to have worked on them. "I loved both of these games as a kid (my favorites were <em>Where in Space...?</em> and <em>Where in the USA...?),</em> and one of the main reasons I took the job at Blue Fang was to get a chance to work on these awesome titles," Kazemi gushed. <br />
<br />
Even better, trailers for both can be found after the break, revealing a bit about the titles' respective gameplay, as well as their launch dates -- February 2 for <em>The Oregon Trail</em> (with hunting, yes!) and February 9 for <em>Carmen Sandiego</em>. And both games, we must add, look <em>totally </em>awesome. We're starting to get worried about this whole "Facebook" thing.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/jwhere-in-the-world-is-carmen-sandiego-and-the-oregon-trail-facebook/">Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? and The Oregon Trail (Facebook)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/jwhere-in-the-world-is-carmen-sandiego-and-the-oregon-trail-facebook/#3822004"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/csdcaseinformationscreen_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/jwhere-in-the-world-is-carmen-sandiego-and-the-oregon-trail-facebook/#3822005"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/csdcluescreen_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/jwhere-in-the-world-is-carmen-sandiego-and-the-oregon-trail-facebook/#3822006"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/otchimneyrock_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/jwhere-in-the-world-is-carmen-sandiego-and-the-oregon-trail-facebook/#3822007"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/otrunning_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/jwhere-in-the-world-is-carmen-sandiego-and-the-oregon-trail-facebook/#3822008"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/ottravel-screen_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/26/oregon-trail-where-in-the-world-is-carmen-sandeigo-facebook/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>'Oregon Trail' and 'Carmen Sandiego' coming to Facebook in Feb.</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/26/oregon-trail-where-in-the-world-is-carmen-sandeigo-facebook/">'Oregon Trail' and 'Carmen Sandiego' coming to Facebook in Feb.</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 26 Jan 2011 13:30:00 EST. Unlike <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/maxplosion">certain Capcom Mobile games</a> that make us feel <em>all weird inside</em>, Curve Studios' <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/explodemon">Explodemon</a></em> for PS3 reminds us of Twisted Pixel's <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/splosion-man">Splosion Man</a></em> franchise ... but in a good way (it helps that it's not a <em>direct ripoff</em> -- and that it was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/01/explodemon-blows-up-on-wiiware-psn-in-2009/">announced</a> the same week <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/02/the-maw-developers-splosion-man-is-real-real-weird/">that <em>SM</em> was</a>).<br />
<br />
After <em>Explodemon</em> was given an amorphous "January 2011" release window <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/01/explodemon-delayed-until-january/">late last month</a>, the PSN-exclusive game is now set to officially launch on February 8 in North America and February 9 in Europe, for $9.99 and &euro;9.99/&pound;7.99, respectively. We're using the coming weeks to prepare our blast suits, and we suggest you do the same.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/24/explodemon-psn-release-date/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Explodemon detonates Feb. 8 on PSN for $10</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/24/explodemon-psn-release-date/">Explodemon detonates Feb. 8 on PSN for $10</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 24 Jan 2011 16:30:00 EST. Owlchemy Labs -- the development team that made iPhone game <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/04/super-ramen-bros-an-iphone-game-made-in-24-hours/"><em>Super Ramen Brothers</em></a> in 24 hours -- is back with <em>Smuggle Truck</em>, a physics-based driving game for iOS and browsers. The objective of the game is to smuggle illegal aliens and <em>real aliens</em> across an unspecified border, leaping chasms, catching birthing babies as they pop up from the back of the truck, and generally seeing to it that the precious "cargo" stays safe along the way to freedom.<br />
<br />
<em>Smuggle Truck</em> will be available in March, but Owlchemy thinks it would be a hoot to host a <a href="http://owlchemylabs.com/level-editor-contest-and-first-smuggle-truck-screencast">level creation contest</a> in February with the release of the game's web-based editor app. It's also noteworthy that the game's art is being created by <a href="http://www.miwiki.net/Bill_Tiller">Bill Tiller</a>, who was the lead background artist for LucasArts' classic adventure game <em>Curse of Monkey Island</em>, among other titles. Check out a pair of videos of the border jumping gameplay after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/21/super-ramen-bros-dev-returns-with-smuggle-truck/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Super Ramen Bros. dev returns with Smuggle Truck</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/21/super-ramen-bros-dev-returns-with-smuggle-truck/">Super Ramen Bros. dev returns with Smuggle Truck</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 21 Jan 2011 19:30:00 EST. Sega surprised us this afternoon, updating its "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/08/yakuza-4-headed-to-north-america-and-europe-in-spring-2011/">Spring 2011</a>" release window for <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/yakuza-4">Yakuza 4</a></em> in North America with a March 15 release date. The title will arrive exclusively on the PlayStation 3, and, as promised, will bring back <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/24/yakuza-3-loses-hostess-clubs-quiz-game-in-western-release/">hostess clubs</a> that were missing from <em>Yakuza 3</em>'s North American release.<br />
<br />
A new trailer for March's mafia brawler was also released, showcasing the game's eccentric personalities and their flashy fighting moves. We'd be lying if we said we weren't most excited to play as Kazuma Kiryu -- he's the dude you see above <em>totally flipping out</em>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/20/yakuza-4-to-pummel-faces-on-march-15/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Yakuza 4 to pummel faces on March 15</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/20/yakuza-4-to-pummel-faces-on-march-15/">Yakuza 4 to pummel faces on March 15</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 20 Jan 2011 18:30:00 EST. Square Enix's absurdly named <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dissidia-duodecim-final-fantasy/"><em>Dissidia 012 [duodecim] Final Fantasy</em></a> will bring the <em>Final</em> fight to retail on March 22, 2011, with an asking price of $29.99. The North American release of the game comes only a few weeks after the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/20/dissidia-duodecim-final-fantasy-japan-release-date/">Japanese launch</a>. <br />
<br />
The publisher also announced that the PSP fighter will feature<span class="xn-person"> voice work by Rachael Leigh Cook</span> as Tifa, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/keith-david"><span class="xn-person">Keith David</span></a> as Chaos, <span class="xn-person">Steve Burton</span> as Cloud Strife and <span class="xn-person">George Newbern</span> as Sephiroth. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/24/dissidia-012-duodecim-trailer-full-of-feats-also-some-feet/">All those <em>FF</em> characters</a> in one game and not one with the pipes of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/nolan-north">Nolan North</a>? More importantly, however, is the assertion that it will be "available as a launch title for the Nintendo 3DS." That makes <em>Super Street Fighter IV</em> the first known launch title in North America! We'd like to pretend it's the only launch title, which would make it really easy for us to find other <em>SSF4</em> owners to play it with.<br />
<br />
Capcom also says that the online features will be available from launch, making it "the only title to utilize the full capabilities of Nintendo's online network at launch." Said features include online multiplayer and a Spectator Mode that allows users to watch other online fights. Other new features include a 3D display mode, "Simple Controls" that use the touchscreen to launch combos, and StreetPass-based multiplayer that uses virtual figurines, which automatically fight other figurines they encounter via local wireless connections.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-street-fighter-iv-3d-edition-1-19-11/">Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition (1/19/11)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-street-fighter-iv-3d-edition-1-19-11/#3799971"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/ssfiv3dscreen1noaeventjan19thbmpjpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-street-fighter-iv-3d-edition-1-19-11/#3799972"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/ssfiv3dscreen2noaeventjan19thbmpjpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-street-fighter-iv-3d-edition-1-19-11/#3799973"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/ssfiv3dscreen3noaeventjan19thbmpjpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-street-fighter-iv-3d-edition-1-19-11/#3799974"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/ssfiv3dscreen4noaeventjan19thbmpjpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-street-fighter-iv-3d-edition-1-19-11/#3799975"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/ssfiv3dscreen5noaeventjan19thbmpjpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/19/super-street-fighter-iv-3d-edition-confirmed-for-3ds-launch/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition confirmed for 3DS launch</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/19/super-street-fighter-iv-3d-edition-confirmed-for-3ds-launch/">Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition confirmed for 3DS launch</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 19 Jan 2011 11:30:00 EST. Already <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/10/esrb-ubisoft-working-out-fit-in-six-exercise-game-for-wii-and/">outed by the ESRB</a>, Ubisoft has officially announced its upcoming fitness title, <em>Fit in Six</em>. Slated to arrive on Wii and PS3 this March, <em>Fit in Six</em> focuses on six different areas of fitness: core body, upper body, lower body, cardio, balance and flexibility. The PS3 version utilizes PlayStation Move, while the Wii version -- like the Wii's <em>Your Shape</em> -- will require a special USB camera. The camera will be bundled with the game, or if you happen to have one already, standalone copies will be available as well.<br />
<br />
The PS3 version includes a few extra features, notably support for DLC and the ability to import your own music for use in workouts. <em>Fit in Six</em> even includes a system to analyze a user's music, choosing the most appropriate tracks for each workout. Stretch that index finger and click past the break for a trailer.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fit-in-six-wii-ps3/">Fit in Six (Wii, PS3)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fit-in-six-wii-ps3/#3797391"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/mfccsps3015workoutgoalstrongback_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fit-in-six-wii-ps3/#3797392"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/mfccsps3017kickboxing03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fit-in-six-wii-ps3/#3797393"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/mfccsps3019mermaid_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/18/ubisoft-announces-fit-in-six-for-wii-and-ps3/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Ubisoft announces Fit in Six for Wii and PS3</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/18/ubisoft-announces-fit-in-six-for-wii-and-ps3/">Ubisoft announces Fit in Six for Wii and PS3</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 18 Jan 2011 17:50:00 EST. <br />
Until January 20, the Mac and PC versions will be on sale for the same <em>burninating</em> price as the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/10/strong-bads-cool-game-gets-attractive-15-price-on-psn/">PSN release</a>: $15 for the whole season. After that, they'll go back up to $30, which is still cheaper than the original WiiWare price of $10 per episode (there are five). You can use that beefy arm coming out of the back of your neck to click over to the <a href="http://www.telltalegames.com/trogday">product page</a> on Telltale Games and save some money now.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/14/strong-bads-cool-game-now-on-mac-temporarily-discounted/">Strong Bad's Cool Game now on Mac, temporarily discounted</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 14 Jan 2011 13:50:00 EST. The trailer after the break reveals the EU date -- but if you'd like to see the <em>other</em> date at the end, check out <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLj_uhFFQ-M">YouTube</a>.<br />
<br />
In addition to revealing the date for your next Autolog adventure, the new trailer features some driver's-seat footage that reminds us why we <em>play</em> racing games instead of racing cars in real life. That is, it's the constant fear of painful death. Just a quirk we have.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/13/shift-2-unleashed-shifts-to-stores-march-29/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Shift 2 Unleashed shifts to stores March 29</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/13/shift-2-unleashed-shifts-to-stores-march-29/">Shift 2 Unleashed shifts to stores March 29</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 13 Jan 2011 10:30:00 EST. <br />
<em>Death Rally</em> was Remedy's first game, published for PC by Apogee in 1996 and cleaned up to run on modern rigs in 2009. Now, with the help of <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minigore">Minigore</a></em> dev Mountain Sheep, Remedy is porting the combat racing title to iOS devices, including iPhone and iPad, for a violent history lesson on the go.<br />
<br />
You can acquaint yourself with the world of <em>Death Rally</em> (hint: it's mostly rallies and dying) by watching the trailer after the break -- or, even better, by playing the '96 freeware release! Sega announced today that the three-dimensional ape tumbler will be released in Japan on March 3.
