Rockstar has sold through more than 13 million units of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/red-dead-redemption"><em>Red Dead Redemption </em></a>worldwide and more than 5 million units of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/la-noire"><em>L.A. The mobile version of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/grand-theft-auto-3"><em>Grand Theft Auto 3</em></a> beat all the odds and reviews to become Take-Two's best-selling mobile title to date.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/02/rockstar-lives-up-to-its-name-in-q3/">Rockstar lives up to its name in Q3</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 02 Feb 2012 16:34:00 EST. Thanks to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/21/ea-activates-ios-holiday-super-sale-attempts-chart-supremacy-be/">a ridiculous sale in December</a>, the publisher managed to best all competitors and become the top publisher in the App Store throughout December. <em>The Sims: FreePlay</em> was the top-grossing iPad app.<br /><br />The news comes from the company's <a href="http://investor.ea.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=644995">third quarter fiscal year earnings report</a>, which shows a substantial increase in gains and registered users throughout its digital products compared to the same period last year. In the period ending December 31, 2010, EA Mobile earned $59 million, while earnings at the end of December 2011 were up to $70 million.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/01/ea-was-number-one-game-publisher-on-app-store-in-december-mobil/">EA was No. 1 game publisher on App Store in December, mobile revenue up over last year</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 01 Feb 2012 16:32:00 EST. The game will now arrive some time in "fall 2012," according to a statement released by Sega this evening, bumping it a full season away from its originally intended spring 2012 window.<br /><br />We're also told that a fancy new trailer for the game will be arriving tomorrow, so, uh, hold onto your butts! Oh ... shoot ... wrong franchise. Ummm, get to the choppah? RedLynx's weirdest stunt racing game, <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/motoheroz"><em>MotoHeroz</em></a>, has finally been dated. The WiiWare-exclusive, exaggerated truck racer will allow you to race trucks on the moon next Thursday, September 15, for $15. It'll be a simultaneous European and American release.<br />
<br />
The new trailer, above, shows you just what the game is about, including the aforementioned lunar truckin'. There's a variety of flip-friendly vehicles and outrageous, looping (and loopy) tracks, playable in single-player and local multiplayer. In addition, daily challenges will be available online.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/07/motoheroz-flips-out-on-wiiware-september-15/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>MotoHeroz flips out on WiiWare September 15</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/07/motoheroz-flips-out-on-wiiware-september-15/">MotoHeroz flips out on WiiWare September 15</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 07 Sep 2011 13:00:00 EST. After engagements on iOS, PSN, and XBLA, the techno-trippy, genetics-themed shmup <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/space-invaders-infinity-gene"><em>Space Invaders Infinity Gene </em></a>is mutating into an Android game. The shooter will be available for purchase tomorrow on the Android Market for $5.<br />
<br />
If you're an Android adherent, and at all interested in the idea of a shooter that slowly "evolves" new abilities, visual styles, and gameplay elements as you play it, you'll want to check this out. Not only because we think it's a novel shooter with accessible touch controls, but also so you can use your money to influence Square Enix to port Reisuke Ishida's follow-up game, the amazing <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/groove-coaster"><em>Groove Coaster</em></a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/06/space-invaders-infinity-gene-propagates-to-android-tomorrow/">Space Invaders Infinity Gene propagates to Android tomorrow</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 06 Sep 2011 18:00:00 EST. Sega's two newest iPhone games are really only similar in that Sega announced them at roughly the same time -- they make for a weird juxtaposition. <em>Brick People</em> is an adaptation of a <a href="http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2009/01/27/sega_block_game/">cute arcade game</a> about stacking physical blocks to guide on-screen characters -- of course, now, the blocks are virtual too.<br />
<br />
<em>Samurai Bloodshow</em> is a card-based war game made in a traditional Japanese art style. Do you want to see pastel bricks or vintage murder? Your choice!<br />
<br />
You can catch a <em>Samurai Bloodshow </em>today on iPhone or iPad for two bucks. <em>Brick People</em> will finally climb up to the App Store sometime this fall.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/brick-people-ios/">Brick People (iOS)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/brick-people-ios/#4408847"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/23913peopleipad2001en_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/brick-people-ios/#4408848"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/23914peopleipad2002en_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/brick-people-ios/#4408849"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/23915peopleipad2003en_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/brick-people-ios/#4408850"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/23916peopleipad2004en_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/brick-people-ios/#4408851"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/23917peopleipad2005en_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/samurai-bloodshow-ios/">Samurai Bloodshow (iOS)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/samurai-bloodshow-ios/#4412648"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/23938sbimg001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/samurai-bloodshow-ios/#4412649"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/23939sbimg002_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/samurai-bloodshow-ios/#4412650"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/23940sbimg003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/samurai-bloodshow-ios/#4412651"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/23941sbimg004_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/samurai-bloodshow-ios/#4412652"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/23942sbimg005_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/01/sega-reveals-brick-people-and-samurai-bloodshow-for-ios/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Sega reveals Brick People and Samurai Bloodshow for iOS</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/01/sega-reveals-brick-people-and-samurai-bloodshow-for-ios/">Sega reveals Brick People and Samurai Bloodshow for iOS</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 01 Sep 2011 10:45:00 EST. Hey, remember earlier today, when we said you'd have time to get through<em> <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/radiant-silvergun">Radiant Silvergun</a></em> on XBLA before <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/guardian-heroes"><em>Guardian Heroes</em></a> came out? Well, we were mistaken -- it'll be impossible to finish <em>Radiant Silvergun</em> before then. Major Nelson just announced the release date for <em>Guardian Heroes</em>, and it's ... tomorrow.<br />
<br />
The questionably (and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/13/guardian-heroes-xbla-updates-detailed/">optionally</a>) remastered Saturn brawler shares a release date with <em>Rock of Ages, The Baconing</em>,<em> Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection</em>, and the <em>Ugly Americans</em> game. It's like another Summer of Arcade in one single day.<br />
<br />
<strong>Update:</strong> Major Nelson just <a href="http://twitter.com/#!/majornelson/status/108641520957145088">tweeted</a> that the listing was a mistake, and <em>Guardian Heroes</em> won't actually be out tomorrow.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/30/hidden-treasure-guardian-heroes-out-this-week-on-xbla/">Hidden Treasure: Guardian Heroes out this week on XBLA [update: no it isn't!]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 30 Aug 2011 16:30:00 EST. We don't take very kindly to pesky rodents sneaking around our places of residence, and we like the concept of said rodents spying on us even less. Still, we can get down with some Firemint-developed iOS games and tell you about the studio's latest title: <em>Spy Mouse</em>, wherein a sneaky vermin codenamed "Agent Squeak" can navigate 72 different themed levels while avoiding enemies, grabbing cheese, and employing a variety of power-ups.<br />
<br />
Considering that <em>Spy Mouse</em> is from the folks who created <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/flight-control-hd"><em>Flight Control</em></a>, it's not a huge surprise that it looks like a twist on that game's control scheme and central concept, albeit with many fewer paths to address. Firemint head Rob Murray claims that, after two years working on the new game, it's "Firemint's best game yet." It's available now for $0.99.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/spy-mouse-ios/">Spy Mouse (iOS)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/spy-mouse-ios/#4394326"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/mzl.fubgzfxu.320x480-75_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/spy-mouse-ios/#4394327"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/mzl.jrpbsopc.320x480-75_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/spy-mouse-ios/#4394328"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/mzl.sxgrnkkh.320x480-75_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/spy-mouse-ios/#4394329"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/mzl.tmfxbnbf.320x480-75_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/spy-mouse-ios/#4394330"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/mzl.yxcmgmzg.320x480-75_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/25/spy-mouse-is-firemints-latest-ios-joint-available-now/">Spy Mouse is Firemint's latest iOS joint, available now</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 25 Aug 2011 17:10:00 EST. We've been looking forward to Denki's word game/war game mashup, <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/quarrel">Quarrel</a>,</em> for a long time, even long before <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/09/word-game-quarrel-rescued-by-ignition-now-headed-to-ios-and-con/">playing it</a> at E3 this year. Finally, after years of uncertainty about the game's fate, developer Denki announced a release date (for the iOS version at least) and it's <em>this Thursday</em>. Publisher Ignition confirmed to Joystiq that the date applies to North America, and not just the game's native European territory.<br />
<br />
<em>Quarrel</em> will be released as a universal (iPhone/iPad) app. Two versions will be available on the App Store, a free game called <em>Quarrel</em> and a paid version called <em>Quarrel Deluxe</em>. "<em style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; ">Quarrel</em> caters to those who are new to our lovely word game or otherwise want to try it before buying it," the developer explains. "If the trial pleases you and your budding interest turns into a real love for it, you can upgrade to the full Quarrel extravaganza within the app with one easy In-App Purchase." <em>Quarrel Deluxe</em> is simply the full version paid in advance.<br />
<br />
<em>Quarrel</em> challenges two players to build the longest word out of a jumble of letters in order to capture territory on a map. Ignition also plans to release it on console download services later this year.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/quarrel-ipad-iphone/">Quarrel (iPad / iPhone)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/quarrel-ipad-iphone/#4377180"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/quarrelipaddeluxescreenshot01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/quarrel-ipad-iphone/#4377181"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/quarrelipaddeluxescreenshot02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/quarrel-ipad-iphone/#4377182"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/quarrelipaddeluxescreenshot03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/quarrel-ipad-iphone/#4377183"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/quarrelipaddeluxescreenshot04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/quarrel-ipad-iphone/#4377184"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/quarrelipaddeluxescreenshot05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/23/quarrel-brings-verbal-warfare-to-ios-on-aug-25/">Quarrel brings verbal warfare to iOS on Aug. 25</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 23 Aug 2011 12:45:00 EST. Taito is keeping fairly close to the source material in <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/elevator-action-deluxe"><em>Elevator Action Deluxe</em></a>, in a <em>Bionic Commando Rearmed</em> sort of way. The PSN game is essentially an HD update with the original side-view gameplay and the familiar rows-of-doors stage layout.<br />
<br />
Additions to the formula include new weapons, occasional high-speed elevators, and new (offline) multiplayer modes. Those modes include a deathmatch, and competitive modes in which players race to steal secret files from red doors. The secret files, according to the website, are now represented by "TAITO old game pamphlets!"<br />
<br />
We don't have to wait long at all to experience the new Action: it'll be out August 30th in North America and August 31st elsewhere, for $9.99/&pound;7.99/&euro;9.99.<br />
<br />

<em>Disgaea 4</em> will explode like a spectral penguin onto PS3 on September 6. Publisher NIS America announced that and a few other release windows today on the PlayStation Blog. It'll be available in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/16/disgaea-4-pre-orders-available-in-three-flavors/">three different configurations</a>, depending on how much extra stuff you want to pay for.<br />
<br />
<em>Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland</em>, a new alchemy-themed RPG for PS3 (and sequel to last year's <em>Atelier Rorona</em>), will be out on September 27. In this game, young Totori searches for her missing mother while defeating monsters, helping townspeople with quests, and learning the art of alchemy in order to synthesize items.<br />
<br />
And on PSP, <em>ClaDun X2</em> will offer more pixelated action-RPG fun "at the end of August." This one promises more customization options than its predecessor, the amusingly named "<em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/cladun-this-is-an-rpg">ClaDun: This is an RPG</a></em>." What isn't customizable is how you can buy it: it'll be released only on PSN.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/11/disgaea-4-cladun-x2-atelier-totori-dated/">Disgaea 4, ClaDun X2, Atelier Totori dated</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 11 Aug 2011 13:00:00 EST. We imagine anybody in the market for a PSP has already gone and tracked one down (or is simply waiting for the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/playstation-vita">PlayStation Vita</a>) but regardless EA and Sony have teamed up on <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/08/10/coming-soon-madden-nfl-12-need-for-speed-shift-psp-entertainment-pack">a new bundle</a>. As you may have gathered from the headline to this very post, the bundle comes with a copy of <em>Madden NFL 12</em> and <em>Need for Speed: Shift.</em> It also throws in the requisite black PSP-3000 and a 2GB Memory Stick Pro Duo, all for $159.99.<br />
<br />
Sony will release the bundle on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/13/madden-nfl-12-will-launch-on-august-30-regardless-of-nfl-lockou/">August 30</a>, the same day that <em>Madden</em> will be released on basically every platform in existence including the PSP.<br />

We can't be as cynical about Nintendo trying to boost hardware sales, just by releasing a new color, when the company's already taken such <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/28/3ds-price-drops-to-170-on-august-12/">drastic measures</a> with the 3DS. But it <em>is</em> releasing a new color too. On September 9, concurrent with <em>Star Fox 64</em>, Nintendo will release the "Flame Red" 3DS system in North America. It will, of course, be sold at the new $169.99 price point alongside the existing "Aqua Blue" and "Cosmo Black" systems.<br />
<br />
This color variant was originally released on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/09/flare-red-3ds-coming-to-japan/">July 14</a> in Japan, as the "Flare Red" system. Regardless of the name, we think you get the idea. It's a 3DS and it's red.<br />
<br />
Nintendo's press release also teases another eight Ubisoft 3DS releases by the end of the calendar year. That list includes possible standouts like <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/driver-renegade"><em>Driver: Renegade</em></a>, and, according to GameStop's upcoming games list, standard Ubifare like a 3DS version of <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/nintendo-3ds/games/imagine-fashion-designer/91873"><em>Imagine: Fashion Designer</em></a>.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/nintendo-3ds-flame-red/">Nintendo 3DS (Flame Red)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/nintendo-3ds-flame-red/#4356347"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/red3ds01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/nintendo-3ds-flame-red/#4356351"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/red3ds02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/10/3ds-goes-flame-red-in-north-america-september-9/">3DS goes Flame Red in North America September 9</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 10 Aug 2011 11:00:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/27/the-joystiq-indie-pitch-beat-hazard/">Joystiq Indie Pitch game</a> and current Steam/XBLA release <em>Beat Hazard</em> will appear in an upgraded form on PSN this September, as <em>Beat Hazard Ultra</em>. Cold Beam Games' Steve Hunt wrote the PSN release of the music-based shooter himself, which is crazy.<br />
<br />
The twin-stick shooter generates levels from either the included music or any music on your hard drive. The PSN update adds online play, in either competitive or cooperative modes, so you can subject a friend to a seventeen-minute "In-a-Gadda-da-Vida" gauntlet. You can even turn the music-responsive visual effects up to 200% of normal, to really traumatize your co-op partner.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/10/beat-hazard-ultra-coming-to-psn-in-september/">Beat Hazard Ultra coming to PSN in September</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 10 Aug 2011 02:00:00 EST. PS3 owners in Europe interested in extremely <em>methodical, </em>simulated cave exploration will get a treat tomorrow. Tozai Games announced that <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/spelunker-hd"><em>Spelunker HD</em></a> will be released on the Euro PSN this week, allowing more challenge-seeking gamers to step into the shoes of gaming's most delicate hero. In retro or modern graphical modes, you'll navigate through dark caves, looking for keys and treasure, while maintaining your air supply and avoiding the spikes, stalactites, ghosts, bats, birds, and short falls that will end your life.<br />
<br />
The announcement offers good news for North American spelunkers, as well: the European and American versions will share leaderboards and servers, meaning we'll see an infusion of new players for the up-to-six-player co-op.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/spelunker-hd-psn/">Spelunker HD (PSN)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/spelunker-hd-psn/#4353744"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/spelunker01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/spelunker-hd-psn/#4353745"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/spelunker02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/spelunker-hd-psn/#4353746"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/spelunker03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/spelunker-hd-psn/#4353747"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/spelunker04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/spelunker-hd-psn/#4353749"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/spelunker05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/09/spelunker-hd-drops-into-euro-psn-tomorrow/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Spelunker HD drops into Euro PSN tomorrow</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/09/spelunker-hd-drops-into-euro-psn-tomorrow/">Spelunker HD drops into Euro PSN tomorrow</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 09 Aug 2011 23:00:00 EST. The PS3 <em>Splinter Cell Trilogy</em> release has been, perhaps, too stealthy for its own good, placing decoy <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/31/splinter-cell-and-prince-of-persia-hd-trilogies-coming-march-22/">release</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/23/splinter-cell-classic-trilogy-sneaks-to-june-21-prince-of-persi/">dates</a> and then slipping by them unnoticed. The European PSN may have finally caught Sam Fisher -- the <a href="http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2011/08/08/splinter-cell-hd-trilogy-sneaks-into-playstation-store-tomorrow/">PlayStation Blog</a> announced that the collection (which bundles HD versions of <em>Splinter Cell, Pandora Tomorrow</em>, and <em>Chaos Theory</em>) will be released tomorrow for &euro;29.99/&pound;23.99 with single games for &euro;9.99/&pound;7.99.<br />
<br />
European PSN releases frequently occur the same week as North American PSN releases, so it's entirely possible the Trilogy will be out today in America on PSN. We're checking with Ubisoft.<br />
<br />
As for the retail version, the latest we've seen is <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/19/splinter-cell-hd-delay-2/">September</a> in America. The European PS Blog says the Blu-Ray release will happen "at a later date."<br />
<br />
<strong>Update:</strong> An Ubisoft rep tells us we won't see Splinter Cell on PSN in the US today.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/09/splinter-cell-hd-trilogy-hits-euro-psn-tomorrow/">Splinter Cell HD Trilogy hits Euro PSN tomorrow [update]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 09 Aug 2011 10:30:00 EST. We still don't understand how the time-shifting RTS game <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/achron"><em>Achron</em></a> works -- the concepts of rewinding, summoning reinforcements for things that haven't happened yet, and whatever other kind of chrono-frippery Hazardous Software has put into the game are well, well over our heads.<br />
<br />
The best way to understand <em>Achron</em>, we suspect, is to play it, which you'll be able to do starting August 29. Hazardous sent Joystiq a note letting us know the new date -- a note we suspect arrived from a future in which the game is already out, hence the certainty of the date.<br />
<br />
If you'd like to travel into the future yourself, you can pre-order the game for $29.95 and hop into the beta.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/08/indie-time-travel-rts-achron-enters-our-timeline-august-29/">Indie time travel RTS Achron enters our timeline August 29</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 08 Aug 2011 15:00:00 EST. You probably won't be surprised to hear that Fatshark's PSN explorer-and-bird treasure hunting expedition, <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/hamiltons-great-adventure">Hamilton's Great Adventure</a>, </em>won't be arriving on time -- because "on time" would have been April and that deadline has passed. A subsequent July release date also sailed on by.<br />
<br />
Today, Fatshark announced a new release date, slyly blaming the delay on protagonist Ernest Hamilton taking five weeks of paid vacation. It'll now be released on August 23 in North America and August 24 in the rest of the world -- just in time to compete with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/20/street-fighter-3-third-strike-goes-online-starting-august-23/"><em>Street Fighter 3</em></a>. But if you don't want to wait, you can check out the <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/42140/">PC version</a> that came out in May.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/08/hamiltons-great-adventure-finally-coming-to-psn-august-23/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Hamilton's Great Adventure (finally) coming to PSN August 23</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/08/hamiltons-great-adventure-finally-coming-to-psn-august-23/">Hamilton's Great Adventure (finally) coming to PSN August 23</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 08 Aug 2011 10:30:00 EST. Xbox Live Arcade's <em>Bastion</em> has gotten its launch date on the PC. <em>Bastion</em> will be available as a $14.99 download on Steam August 16, one day <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/25/from-dust-pc-launch-delayed-one-month-available-aug-17/">before <em>From Dust</em> debuts on the platform</a>. You're getting two Summer of Arcade goodies in one week!<br />
<br />
Additionally, we'd like to point out that <a href="http://supergiantgames.bandcamp.com/">the <em>Bastion</em> soundtrack</a> is currently available as a $10 download, replete with a new narration intro and bonus track, "The Pantheon (Ain't Gonna Catch You)." If you're looking for an actual physical disc, maybe to clutch against your bosom tightly as you fall asleep at night -- hey, no judgment here -- then you can shell out $15. The actual CD comes in a custom wallet, featuring original art by Jen Zee and (optionally) signed by composer Darren Korb. <br />
<br />
If you're really distrustful of your mail man (or don't want to wait until September when the disc ships), you can snag the album at PAX Prime in Seattle at the end of the month. Before you go diving into those beautiful tunes, take some of our advice: the songs are definitely best heard first in-game.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/05/bastion-coming-to-pc-on-august-16-soundtrack-available-right-no/">Bastion coming to PC on August 16, soundtrack available right now</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 05 Aug 2011 13:00:00 EST. If you're a DS fan from way back, you might remember <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Touch_Detective">Touch Detective</a></em>, a quirky adventure game released by Atlus in 2006. If you missed it back then, you can check it out now on iOS. Developer Beeworks has released the spooky point-and-click today as an episodic iPhone game -- you can get the app for free (<a href="http://itunes.apple.com/app/touch-detective/id438842356?mt=8&amp;ls=1">iTunes link</a>), and then buy episodes in $3.99 bundles or $8.99 for all of them.<br />
<br />
If you do buy all the episodes, you get the new bonus episode "Funghi Breaks Out!" starring the phallic sidekick character from the main game. No, even more phallic than you're thinking. Imagine a character who is a mushroom, but drawn to be as phallic as you could possibly make something by accident, and then a <em>little more</em> phallic than that.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/touch-detective-ios/">Touch Detective (iOS)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/touch-detective-ios/#4344155"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/eozawa01-1312470093_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/touch-detective-ios/#4344156"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/eozawa02-1312470096_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/touch-detective-ios/#4344157"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/eozawa03-1312470099_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/touch-detective-ios/#4344158"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/eozawa04-1312470102_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/touch-detective-ios/#4344159"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/eozawa05-1312470107_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/04/ds-adventure-game-touch-detective-touches-down-on-ios-today/">DS adventure game Touch Detective touches down on iOS today</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 04 Aug 2011 12:30:00 EST. <em>Whoops</em>, looks like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/driver-san-francisco"><em>Driver: San Francisco</em></a> didn't run the red light and is now delayed one week. Originally expected to reach stores on August 30, the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/28/driver-san-francisco-preview/">shift</a>-y racer will now arrive September 6.<br />
<br />
Ubisoft has also released a new video explaining the game's multiplayer features -- an experience that we've been <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/14/driver-san-francisco-multiplayer-preview/">pleasantly surprised</a> with ever since our first <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/09/driver-san-francisco-preview-get-smashed-with-friends/">test drive at E3</a>. Check out the video above and see what could potentially be one of the most compelling multiplayer experiences of the year.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/28/driver-san-francisco-delayed-a-week-to-september-6/">Driver: San Francisco delayed a week to September 6</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 28 Jul 2011 13:27:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/26/duke-nukem-forever-first-dlc/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/07/stownscreenshot1720-12191-cropped.jpg" /></a></div>
We may not have liked Duke Nukem when we last hung out back in early June, but hey, now he's got a variety of thoroughly enjoyable hats -- we're easily swayed! And he'll be showing off that variety of hats in a handful of new <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/duke-nukem-forever"><em>Duke Nukem Forever</em></a> multiplayer maps and modes this fall, in the "Hail to the Icons" Parody Pack.<br />
<br />
As its name implies, the DLC parodies several games, which we'll allow you to decipher for yourself in the descriptions after the break (take a wild guess at which game those hats are poking fun at). Gearbox and 2K have yet to name a price or firm release date for the content, only giving it a "fall" window. But if you're <em>really</em> into checking the new stuff out as soon as you can, 2K Games is also holding a multiplayer event at its Novato, CA offices in early August -- the <a href="http://www.2kgames.com/blog/new-duke-nukem-forever-content-arriving-this-fall-come-play-at-2k-headquarters-august-4">main site</a> has details on how to get involved.<br />
<br />
And finally, we'd be remiss if we didn't remind you that if you joined the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/02/duke-nukem-forever-free-dlc/">developer's "First Access Club"</a> before <em>DNF</em> dropped back in June, the pack will be free when it eventually launches. We believe Duke would say, "Hell yeah." (But you know, it'd be all gravelly, because that's how he speaks.)<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/duke-nukem-forever-dlc-hail-to-the-icons/">Duke Nukem Forever DLC ('Hail to the Icons')</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/duke-nukem-forever-dlc-hail-to-the-icons/#4322950"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/07/stownscreenshot1720-12191_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/duke-nukem-forever-dlc-hail-to-the-icons/#4322952"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/07/stwofortscreenshot1720-12181-cropped_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/26/duke-nukem-forever-first-dlc/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Duke Nukem Forever getting fanciful hats (and new multiplayer modes/maps) this fall</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/26/duke-nukem-forever-first-dlc/">Duke Nukem Forever getting fanciful hats (and new multiplayer modes/maps) this fall</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 26 Jul 2011 19:30:00 EST. Eric Chahi's upcoming experiment in nature manipulation, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/from-dust"><em>From Dust</em></a>, won't arrive on PCs until mid-August. The company confirmed as much to Joystiq this afternoon, specifically noting, "<em>From Dust</em> will hit XBLA this Wednesday and will release on PC on Wednesday, August 17."<br />
<br />
That's just three weeks until the game arrives on PC -- more than enough time to practice your lava redirection and bridge carving techniques with a mouse. <p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/25/from-dust-pc-launch-delayed-one-month-available-aug-17/">From Dust PC launch delayed one month, available Aug. 17</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 25 Jul 2011 16:15:00 EST. You're not tired of news about Capcom fighting games yet, are you? If so, uh... sorry. We've got some great posts just below this one, some of which aren't about fighting games. Now, for the rest of you, Capcom announced the release dates for the <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/street-fighter-3-third-strike-online-edition">XBLA/PSN update</a> of <em>Street Fighter 3: Third Strike</em>.<br />
<br />
You'll be able to <em>fight for the future</em> in the online version of a past <em>Street Fighter</em> starting August 23, when it hits PSN. The XBLA release follows the next day. Check out a trailer above to see some of the stuff added to this version of the beloved 1999 fighter -- like GGPO-based online play, graphical filters, and challenges.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/20/street-fighter-3-third-strike-goes-online-starting-august-23/">Street Fighter 3: Third Strike goes Online starting August 23</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 20 Jul 2011 19:00:00 EST. It seems that those <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/19/rumor-goldeneye-reloaded-screens-infiltrate-the-web/">leaked screens</a> for another Activision-published GoldenEye project were legit, or at very least had the name of the forthcoming release right. <em>GoldenEye 007: Reloaded</em> is apparently an HD port of last year's Wii game, coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this fall from Eurocom. Activision announced the game this morning via press release, which describes the game as having "the legendary story campaign," "brand new Mi6 Ops Missions" (which are new, objective-based levels), and a revamped multiplayer component.<br />
<br />
Rather than a simple up-scaling of the Wii game, <em>Reloaded</em> is said to be "built on a brand new engine" and run at 60 frames per second. But beyond the HD update and Mi6 missions, it seems that the game is a repeat of last year's Wii shooter -- you can even play it with the PlayStation Move, should you prefer a more Wii-like experience. And while we were <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/02/goldeneye-007-review/">fans of the Wii title</a>, it's perhaps best not to get <em>too</em> jazzed about the second release of a reimagining of a game we played on Nintendo 64 in 1997.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/20/goldeneye-007-reloaded-gets-official-aiming-for-360-and-ps3-th/">GoldenEye 007: Reloaded gets official, aiming for 360 and PS3 this fall</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 20 Jul 2011 09:25:00 EST. Time is fluid, as we're reminded again by the announcement of <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/bloodrayne-betrayal">Bloodrayne: Betrayal</a></em>'s <em>late</em> August launch. Originally expected for "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/08/bloodrayne-betrayal-cuts-up-psn-xbla-in-early-august/">early August</a>," the game now has August 30 and 31 launch dates for PSN and XBLA, respectively.<br />
<br />
Developer WayForward has reimagined <em>BloodRayne</em> for the better, as we and the company recently detailed on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/08/the-joystiq-show-002-unsung-games-of-e3-2011/">The Joystiq Show</a>. From what we've seen so far, this is a <em>BloodRayne</em> that doesn't suck.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bloodrayne-betrayal-e3-2011/">BloodRayne: Betrayal (E3 2011)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bloodrayne-betrayal-e3-2011/#4207413"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/06/bloodraynee3psn-screen-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bloodrayne-betrayal-e3-2011/#4207414"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/06/bloodraynee3psn-screen-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bloodrayne-betrayal-e3-2011/#4207415"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/06/bloodraynee3psn-screen-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bloodrayne-betrayal-e3-2011/#4207416"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/06/bloodraynee3psn-screen-4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bloodrayne-betrayal-e3-2011/#4207417"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/06/bloodraynee3psn-screen-5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/14/bloodrayne-betrayal-launching-in-the-last-week-of-august/">BloodRayne: Betrayal launching in the last week of August</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 14 Jul 2011 20:00:00 EST. Since Nintendo's 3DS launched back in March, we've been hanging on by a thread, counting the minutes until <em>this</em> week's eShop update. And no, it's not just because <em>Extreme Hangman 2</em> is <em>finally</em> dropping on DSiWare: Netflix's streaming video application will be available on 3DS as well. Finally a chance to bring <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twin_peaks">Agent Cooper</a> on the go <em>and</em> make those smug <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/12/3ds-nintendo-video-service-available-tomorrow-in-japan/">short-form video users</a> in Europe and Japan quit their braggin'!<br />
<br />
Nintendo revealed as much with an early announcement of its weekly eShop, DSi, and Wii Shop updates, also detailing several games that will be available for purchase across the Wii, DSi, and 3DS. We're particularly fond of the Virtual Console <em>Game &amp; Watch Gallery</em> coming to 3DS, but fans of super old-school sports games may be more excited to hear about <em>Baseball</em> being this week's other retro re-release.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/13/nintendo-3ds-gets-free-netflix-update-in-tomorrows-eshop-update/">Nintendo 3DS gets free Netflix update in tomorrow's eShop update</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 13 Jul 2011 18:00:00 EST. Timegate's undeniably beefy multiplayer-centric shooter, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/section-8-prejudice">Section 8: Prejudice</a>, </em>has been racking up kills on Xbox Live Arcade since late April. In a little under two weeks, PS3 owners will get to see what all the fuss is about (hint: skydiving), as <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/07/13/section-8-prejudice-drops-into-psn-with-some-extra-weight/#utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+PSBlog+%28PlayStation.Blog%29">PlayStation Blog</a> just announced the downloadable, $15 title will touch down on PSN July 26 in North America, and July 27 in Europe.<br />
<br />
To help jump-start the community's growth on the new platform, Timegate is handing out the Blitz Armor Pack and Overdrive Map Pack to anyone who grabs the game during its first week on PSN. What's more, the first 1,000 PlayStation Plus users to download the title will receive in-game Hunter Armor, as well as a free download of the original <em>Section 8</em>. You're essentially doubling your bang for your buck, and by "bang," we mean "<em>whoosh</em>," because that's the sound you make when you're skydiving.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/13/section-8-prejudice-diving-into-playstation-store-july-26/">Section 8: Prejudice diving into PlayStation Store July 26</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 13 Jul 2011 17:30:00 EST. It's a bold move to change the price of a game whose price is in the title, but Frima Studio figured out how to do so for the iOS release of its PSP Mini <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/a-space-shooter-for-two-bucks">A Space Shooter for Two Bucks</a></em>: replace the already-low price with "Free." For the iOS release, due July 28, it's been re-christened <em>A Space Shooter for Free!</em>, and reworked into a freemium experience.<br />
<br />
The free download features part of the original game -- with "
<meta charset="utf-8" />
an infinite supply of aliens to obliterate." For a dollar, you can upgrade it to the "Big ASS" version that unlocks the rest. So, it ends up being a space shooter for <em>one</em> buck. That's still fewer than two.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/a-space-shooter-for-free-ios/">A Space Shooter for Free! Nintendo of Europe is taking full advantage of the goodwill it's earning with the localization of <em>Xenoblade Chronicles</em>. Nintendo has bumped up the European release date for Monolith Soft's Wii RPG from September 2 to August 19. It will still be available in either a standard edition or a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/28/xenoblade-chronicles-gets-european-special-edition-very-europea/">special edition</a> with a red Classic Controller Pro. In addition, the pre-order-exclusive special edition bundle will come with three posters.<br />
<br />
Nintendo of America's last word to date on the matter was that there were "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/29/nintendo-no-plans-to-localize-xenoblade-last-story-or-pando/">no plans</a>" for Xenoblade or the two other games on which the "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/27/operation-rainfall-campaign-seeks-localization-of-wii-rpgs/">Operation Rainfall</a>" campaign is focused.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/12/xenoblade-chronicles-european-release-bumped-up-to-aug-19/">Xenoblade Chronicles' European release bumped up to Aug. 19</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 12 Jul 2011 10:55:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/deadliest-warrior-legends"><em>Deadliest Warrior: Legends</em></a> may be old (spiked) hat for Xbox 360 owners, but for those of us with access only to a PS3, the game has yet to arrive. That's all about to change, as 345 Games tells Joystiq that its latest release will head to the PlayStation Network Store on July 26, pointy blade-equipped staff and all.<br />
<br />
Like its XBLA launch, <em>Deadliest Warrior: Legends</em> will run you $10 when it arrives in the coming weeks. No explanation was offered for the disparity in launch between 360 and PS3, but we're told Sun Tzu sends his sincerest apologies.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/11/deadliest-warrior-legends-to-pulverize-psn-on-july-26/">Deadliest Warrior: Legends to pulverize PSN on July 26</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 11 Jul 2011 16:40:00 EST. <br />
<em>Limbo </em>will be creepy-crawling onto PSN July 19 in the United States, July 20 in Europe and at a to-be-announced date in Japan. The <em>Limbo</em> soundtrack, which would be great for overnight, solo camping trips in the middle of Dead Man's Woods, will be released Monday, July 11, due to popular demand. Playdead's Dino Patti finished his announcement on the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/07/08/limbo-comes-to-psn-on-july-19th/">PlayStation Blog</a> with the promise (or threat) of a "little extra secret we have in store for you..."<br />

Nothing says "America" like apple pie, Elvis and vintage zombie hordes, straight out of the Golden 1950s. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dead-block"><em>Dead Block</em></a>, a suburban-zombie tower-defense title from Candygun Games, is hitting XBLA July 6, according to publisher Digital Reality. We first saw this date reported over the weekend at <a href="http://www.xblafans.com/dead-block-coming-july-6-17209.html">XBLA Fans</a>; the only problem is, Xbox Live's Major Nelson told us, "It's not on the list that I have." Remember, kids, Xbox Live Marketplace release dates are never official until Microsoft releases them!<br />
<br />
... but we're not sure about PlayStation Network, which Digital Reality says is scheduled to get its dose of <em>Dead Block</em> on July 20. Regardless of release dates, the cute-yet-crude take on the undead genre will be marked at 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360 and the equivalent $10 on PSN.<br />
<br />
If you're still curious about the game, we've got a trailer for you after the break, but here's the <em>meat</em> of it: Zombies are created from the hip vibrations of mid-century rock 'n' roll and are slaughtered by Jack the construction worker, Foxy the traffic warden or Mike, the fat boy scout from <em>Up</em>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/29/dead-block-due-to-shuffle-swing-and-bop-onto-xbla-july-6-and-ps/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Dead Block due to shuffle, swing and bop onto XBLA July 6 and PSN July 20</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/29/dead-block-due-to-shuffle-swing-and-bop-onto-xbla-july-6-and-ps/">Dead Block due to shuffle, swing and bop onto XBLA July 6 and PSN July 20</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 29 Jun 2011 18:30:00 EST. This month, Cave gave the iPhone version of <em>Deathsmiles</em> a "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/13/deathsmiles-upon-iphone-this-year-new-trailer-arrives-today/">2011</a>" date. We didn't have to wait long to find out when in 2011 -- and we won't have to wait long to play it. Cave announced that you'll be able to enter <em>Deathsmiles'</em> <em>moe</em> gauntlet on July 7. For the first four days, it'll be priced at $4.99/&pound;2.99/&euro;3.99, then the price will go up to $8.99/&pound;5.49/&euro;6.99.<br />
<br />
If you're uncontrollably thrilled about the new iPhone shmup, you'll be able to get an early look at it on Friday, July 1. Cave is hosting a Ustream "live sneak peek" event introducing <em>Deathsmiles</em> and revealing new content for the iPhone version. Eager to virtually explore the bizarre world of Agent York in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/deadly-premonition"><em>Deadly Premonition</em></a>, but can't seem to locate a hard copy of the cult hit? Rising Star Games has you covered, as the publisher plans to launch the title digitally through Xbox Live's Games on Demand service next week, on July 5, for an unannounced price -- at least in the UK. We've reached out to <em>DP</em>'s North American publisher, Ignition Entertainment, to see if it's landing Stateside as well.<br />
<br />
So, rather than spending July 5 sweating profusely, how about grabbing a piping hot cup of coffee, turning on the AC, and walking through the doors of perception with us? Don't worry, <em>we'll bring the pie</em>.<br />
<br />
<strong>Update:</strong> The game will cost &pound;14.99/&euro;19.99 in the UK/EU, and Rising Star is only handling distribution in PAL territories. We've yet to hear back from Ignition reps.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/28/deadly-premonition-walking-backwards-to-uk-games-on-demand-next/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Deadly Premonition walking backwards to UK Games on Demand next week</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/28/deadly-premonition-walking-backwards-to-uk-games-on-demand-next/">Deadly Premonition walking backwards to UK Games on Demand next week</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 28 Jun 2011 22:00:00 EST. An HD update of the classic game <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boulder_Dash"><em>Boulder Dash</em></a> is coming to XBLA on July 13 ... just a week shy of the Summer of Arcade promotion, and the same day as <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/22/ms-splosion-man-splodes-onto-xbla-july-13/"><em>Ms. Splosion Man</em></a>. <em>Ouch</em>. <em>Boulder Dash XL</em> retains the formula from First Star Games' vintage side-scroller, with a treasure hunter searching for diamonds in maze-like caves, avoiding enemies, falling boulders, and traps.<br />
<br />
The new version features "7 times the amount of caves as the 1984 original release," publisher Kalypso Media says, along with a new "puzzle mode," items like speed enhancers and telescoping arms, and online leaderboards. In addition to the 800 Microsoft Point Xbox Live Arcade release, a PC version will be released later in the summer. Hopefully for its sake, it won't be overshadowed again by a promotion and a higher-profile release.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/boulder-dash-xl-xbla-pc/">Boulder Dash XL (XBLA/PC)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/boulder-dash-xl-xbla-pc/#4254613"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/06/boulderdash62701_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/boulder-dash-xl-xbla-pc/#4254614"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/06/boulderdash62702_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/boulder-dash-xl-xbla-pc/#4254615"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/06/boulderdash62703_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/boulder-dash-xl-xbla-pc/#4254616"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/06/boulderdash62704_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/boulder-dash-xl-xbla-pc/#4254617"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/06/boulderdash62705_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/27/boulder-dash-xl-boldly-dashes-to-xbla-july-13/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Boulder Dash XL boldly dashes to XBLA July 13</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/27/boulder-dash-xl-boldly-dashes-to-xbla-july-13/">Boulder Dash XL boldly dashes to XBLA July 13</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 27 Jun 2011 23:30:00 EST. We knew <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/06/xbox-live-summer-of-arcade-2011-kicks-off-july-20/">which games</a> were going to be part of this year's XBLA "Summer of Arcade" -- but not when. Today, Microsoft shared that information, allowing you to plan your season around buying video games.<br />
<br />
The Summer kicks off with the isometric action-adventure <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/bastion"><em>Bastion</em></a> on July 20, for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15.) Eric Chahi's volcanic god game, <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/from-dust">From Dust</a>, </em>follows on July 27 for the same price. On August 3, <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/insanely-twisted-shadow-planet"><em>Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet</em></a> will be available, also for 1200 MSP. August 10 brings a refreshing virtual fruit salad in the form of <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/fruit-ninja-kinect"><em>Fruit Ninja Kinect</em></a>, for 800 Points. Finally, <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/toy-soldiers-cold-war"><em>Toy Soldiers: Cold War</em></a> arrives on August 17 for 1200 Points.<br />
<br />
Like previous years, there's a bonus for buying all five Summer of Arcade titles, and this year it's a free copy of <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/crimson-alliance"><em>Crimson Alliance</em></a> when it's released on September 7 (for 1200 Points). <em>Fruit Ninja Kinect</em>'s inclusion in the promotion means that you must have a Kinect in order to take advantage of the free bonus. That's a bummer of Arcade for those who haven't picked up Microsoft's camera yet.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/27/xbla-summer-of-arcade-releases-dated-buy-them-all-for-free-crim/">XBLA Summer of Arcade releases dated, buy them all for free Crimson Alliance</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 27 Jun 2011 13:45:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/bodycount"><em>Bodycount</em></a> may have missed its intended "early 2011" release window, but it seems that Codemasters wasn't far off. Today the publisher announced an August launch for the title and gave us a new peek into the game's 'splosion-packed action. As you'll see in the clip after the break, <em>Bodycount</em> is clearly about employing a variety of weapons as often as possible, all the while chasing an elusive enemy known as "The Target." (S<em>eriously.</em>)<br />
<br />
Apparently you'll be extending the pile of bodies across Africa, Asia and "mysterious bases" (okay, <em>stop it</em>) in said search, but the folks at Codies won't speak up until an upcoming community Q&amp;A. You can participate in that over at the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/06/24/e3-2011-bodycount-is-back/">US PlayStation Blog</a>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/24/bodycount-bringing-an-arsenal-to-consoles-this-august/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Bodycount bringing an arsenal to consoles this August</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/24/bodycount-bringing-an-arsenal-to-consoles-this-august/">Bodycount bringing an arsenal to consoles this August</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 24 Jun 2011 19:20:00 EST. <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/bit-trip-saga"><em>Bit. Trip Saga</em></a>, the 3D-ized<em> Bit.Trip</em> compilation for 3DS, will arrive in stores on September 13. But if you'd rather play the games on the big screen -- and especially if you didn't buy all of them on Wii already -- there's another collection for you. <em>Bit.Trip Complete</em> collects all six WiiWare games on a single Wii disc, with a generous pile of extras.<br />
<br />
120 new "challenges" have been added to the games in <em>Bit.Trip Complete</em>, along with new difficulty modes and leaderboards. In addition, there's an "audio gallery" of new songs, demo versions, and fan remixes of the series' signature sounds. Other bonuses include image and video galleries and a bundled soundtrack CD.<br />
<br />
It'll be up to you how you want to experience these games -- handheld and in 3D, or on your TV with bonuses. You could always buy <em>both</em> in order to have the most options as to how you want to be mesmerized and frustrated.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/24/bit-trip-collections-come-to-3ds-and-wii-september-13/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Bit. Ubisoft has officially shared details on <em>Just Dance 2 - Summer Party</em>, after a retail listing outed the game back in June. Rather than spoil the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/just-dance-3">big new sequel coming this October</a>, <em>Summer Party</em> instead offers 21 already released tracks (previously available as DLC), and teases fans with two new songs months before JD3's release. <em>Summer Party</em> crashes down on July 21 for the Nintendo Wii.<br />

In other words, <em>Summer Party</em> is perfect for your little cousin who doesn't understand the concept of downloading content through his/her Nintendo Wii, or for your friend who loves to warm up with dance in a disconnected part of Antarctica. Head past the break for the full track list from Ubisoft.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/24/just-dance-2-throwing-a-summer-party-on-july-21/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Just Dance 2 throwing a Summer Party on July 21</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/24/just-dance-2-throwing-a-summer-party-on-july-21/">Just Dance 2 throwing a Summer Party on July 21</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 24 Jun 2011 13:50:00 EST.
