<a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/gamestop">GameStop</a> is gonna need a bigger moneybin, as the company reported "all-time high" sales of $9.47 billion for the 2010 fiscal year (ending January 29, 2011), with a record net profit of $408 million. During the fourth quarter, the company also saw a 4.8 percent increase in sales to $3.69 billion, with a 10 percent increase in net earnings to $237.8 million.<br />
<br />
During the GameStop investors call, executives stated they would use information on customer purchases extracted from from the PowerUp Rewards program to help determine the 200 locations that will be shut down over the next year due to overlap. It's not all bad news: that same information will be used to open 200 stores "focusing on underserviced markets." GameStop also plans to "pursue opportunistic growth internationally."<br />
<br />
The biggest sign that GameStop is <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/31/gamestop-details-digital-distribution-storefront-xbla-games-co/">doing its best</a> to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/24/gamestop-reveals-its-store-of-the-future-pre-order-it-now-for/">prepare for the inevitable</a> was the 61 percent increase in "console and PC digital offerings," which brought in $290 million during the year.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/24/gamestop-sees-all-time-high-sales-of-9-47b-for-fiscal-2010/">Gamestop sees 'all-time high' sales of $9.47B for fiscal 2010</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 24 Mar 2011 21:30:00 EST. GameStop has announced that for the nine weeks ending January 1, 2011, the company had sales of $3.02 billion -- a new record. The percentage breakdown across new and used products remained relatively flat year over year, but the sales increase is quite significant from last year's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/07/gamestop-cuts-profit-forecast-still-expects-massive-year/">$2.86 billion</a> (and we're still in a bad economy).<br />
<br />
Company president Tony Bartel noted, "GameStop.com sales rose more than 100% versus last year, far outpacing online industry growth during the period, remaining the fastest growing website in the video game space." <br />
<br />
Hardware sales improved 7.4 percent during the quarter "primarily" due to the "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/05/microsoft-kinect-sells-8-million-units-worldwide/">successful debut</a>" of Microsoft's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Kinect/">Kinect</a>. The company's "other" category, which includes PC games and accessories, grew 15.9 percent, due to <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/move">PlayStation Move</a> and a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/13/world-of-warcraft-cataclysm-sells-3-3-million-units-in-one-day/">little game</a> called<i> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/world-of-warcraft-cataclysm">World of Warcraft: Cataclysm</a>. </i>GameStop's full year results will be announced in March.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/06/gamestop-reports-3-02-billion-in-holiday-sales/">GameStop reports $3.02 billion in holiday sales</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 06 Jan 2011 13:30:00 EST. <br />
For those of you who have yet to play <em>Factions</em>, it's a revamped version of the original, with a single-player campaign about war between "factions" like the Yeti, Zombies, and Cats. It also includes a "Classic Mode" for those who prefer not to take risk with the <em>Risk</em> formula.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/risk-factions-psn/">Risk: Factions (PSN)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/risk-factions-psn/#3707841"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/12/english1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/risk-factions-psn/#3707842"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/12/english2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/risk-factions-psn/#3707843"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/12/english3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/risk-factions-psn/#3707844"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/12/english4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/21/risk-factions-invading-psn-today/">Risk: Factions invading PSN today</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 21 Dec 2010 15:40:00 EST. We were pretty skeptical about whether the iOS version of <em>Secret of Mana</em>, which was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/15/secret-of-mana-coming-to-iphone-this-year/">announced at E3</a> earlier this year then <em>never heard from again</em>, would make its 2010 launch target. According to an <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/15/secret-of-mana-coming-to-iphone-this-year/">update</a> on Square Enix DLG's Facebook page, it's going to make it <em>just</em> under the wire -- producer Masaru Oyamada revealed that the game has been greenlit for release on the App Store, and will arrive there sometime before the end of the month. According to <a href="http://toucharcade.com/2010/12/20/secret-of-mana-hits-the-nz-app-store-releasing-in-us-tonight/">Touch Arcade</a>, the game <em>just</em> appeared on the New Zealand App Store, which usually means it will arrive in North America by the end of the day. Keep an eye out!<br />
<br />
The Square Enix Facebook post didn't mention any new features which have been added to the classic early-90s gem, but there were a few screenshots of the game's user interface. It looks like a pretty standard action-RPG control scheme; whether it will be solid enough to let us tackle <em>Mana</em>'s occasionally impossible bosses remains to be seen. (Here's looking at you, <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbjMvzlDhsM">Spiky Tiger</a>.)<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/20/secret-of-mana-iphone-release-date/">Secret of Mana on iPhone greenlit, should hit App Store tonight</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 20 Dec 2010 15:00:00 EST. Will Unreal Engine be able to take over the Android sales charts, much as it has on iOS with <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/infinity-blade">Infinity Blade</a></em>? Trendy Entertainment hopes so, as it plans on bringing the first Unreal Engine-powered game to Android phones next week, on December 23rd. <em>Dungeon Defenders: First Wave</em> is a tower defense-RPG hybrid that our own Mike Schramm <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/29/dungeon-defenders-preview/">described</a> as "fast-paced, complex and, at times, utterly overwhelming."<br />
<br />
<em>Dungeon Defenders</em> is already <a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/dungeon-defenders-first-wave/id404296113?mt=8">available</a> on iOS for $2.99, and we're assuming the Android version won't differ significantly. If you're wondering if the game will work on your Android device, check out the system requirements after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/18/dungeon-defenders-delivers-unreal-engine-to-android-next-week/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Dungeon Defenders delivers Unreal Engine to Android next week</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/18/dungeon-defenders-delivers-unreal-engine-to-android-next-week/">Dungeon Defenders delivers Unreal Engine to Android next week</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 18 Dec 2010 16:00:00 EST. Things we learned this morning from GameLoft:<br />
<br />
<ol>
    <li><em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/nova-2">NOVA 2</a></em>, a sequel to last year's iPhone FPS <em>NOVA</em>, will be released on the iTunes App Store on December 16 (that's this Thursday), in case you don't have your 2010 Halo Clones novelty calendar handy.</li>
    <li>"NOVA" is an acronym that stands for "Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance" (which is <em>totally different</em> from an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper or the First Encounter Assault Recon folks).</li>
</ol>
The game was also given a fully featured trailer (found after the break), with everything from vehicle combat to landspeeder chases. If it doesn't prove to you that these dudes are totally vanguards, we're not sure if anything will.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/14/nova-2-evolving-mobile-combat-on-dec-16/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NOVA 2 evolving mobile combat on Dec. 16</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/14/nova-2-evolving-mobile-combat-on-dec-16/">NOVA 2 evolving mobile combat on Dec. 16</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 14 Dec 2010 16:40:00 EST. It's about ninjas, monsters, robots, and other assorted characters, who travel from planet to planet to beat each other up in infinitely-scrolling stages. Galaxy Fight will be available with today's PSN update, for the usual $5.99 price. As usual, it's in Japanese, but ... it's a fighting game. You'll figure it out. And MonkeyPaw posted <a href="http://monkeypawgames.com/games/galaxy-fight/">instructions</a>.<br />

Capcom is calling for your attention in Fortune City on December 27. That's when the XBLA-exclusive <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/dead-rising-2">Dead Rising 2</a></em> epilogue, <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/dead-rising-2-case-west">Case West</a></em>, will slide down the virtual chimney and appear under the Xbox Live Marketplace-shaped tree. It's priced at 800 Microsoft Points.<br />
<br />
For that price, you'll get more than just a suddenly sleazier-looking version of <em>Dead Rising</em>'s protagonist (it must be those shades). <em>Case West </em>is a new scenario set inside the "Phenotrans Facility," offering co-op gameplay and, of course, the return of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/22/dead-rising-2-case-west-brings-photography-back/">photography mechanic</a>.<br type="_moz" /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/13/open-up-dead-rising-2-case-west-on-dec-27/">Open up Dead Rising 2: Case West on Dec. 27</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 13 Dec 2010 13:30:00 EST. Konami representatives confirmed with Joystiq tonight that <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/x-men-arcade">X-Men Arcade</a></em> will be arriving in North America on PlayStation Network next week on December 14, while Xbox Live Arcade gets it the next day. We <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/08/x-men-arcade-coming-to-xbla-on-dec-15-as-two-month-exclusive/">originally reported</a> that the game had a two-month window of exclusivity on Xbox Live Arcade, per Konami reps speaking with <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2010-12-08-x-men-arcade-a-two-month-xbla-exclusive">Eurogamer</a>. It appears that this report is not the case, at least for the game's North American release -- US-based Konami reps couldn't confirm European release dates for <em>X-Men Arcade</em> as of publishing.<br />
<br />
Furthermore, the game was given a December 26 North American launch date by Konami reps speaking to <a href="http://www.gamefocus.ca/?nav=new&amp;nid=12087">GameFocus</a> in a recent video interview. Since the interview, however, the PSN launch date has been moved up and North Americans can get their co-op Magneto murdering in a full 12 days earlier. We're just hoping that buying the game won't be as maddeningly difficult as nailing down a solid release date from its publisher.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/09/correction-x-men-arcade-coming-to-psn-in-north-america-on-dec/">Correction: X-Men Arcade coming to PSN in North America on Dec. 14, XBLA on Dec. 15</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 09 Dec 2010 19:25:00 EST. <br />
This is represented gameplay-wise by a top-down experience similar to <em>The Legend of Zelda</em>'s dungeons, with the addition of pointer-based aiming. If the grouping of all those elements seems too far-fetched for you, you'll be able to get proof in the form of a demo, available the same day. We're so glad to see devs taking advantage of this demo feature, by the way. European gamers will get the game (and, presumably, the demo) in 2011.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/frobot-wiiware/">Frobot (WiiWare)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/frobot-wiiware/#3651406"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/12/bossbattle_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/frobot-wiiware/#3651407"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/12/botblockerhq2_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/frobot-wiiware/#3651408"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/12/girlscaptured1_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/frobot-wiiware/#3651409"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/12/girlscaptured2_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/frobot-wiiware/#3651410"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/12/multiplaya1_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/09/frobot-hits-the-wiiware-dance-floor-dec-20/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Frobot hits the WiiWare dance floor Dec. 20</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/09/frobot-hits-the-wiiware-dance-floor-dec-20/">Frobot hits the WiiWare dance floor Dec. 20</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 09 Dec 2010 03:00:00 EST. <strong>Update:</strong> The release date <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/09/correction-x-men-arcade-coming-to-psn-in-north-america-on-dec/">has been updated</a> by Konami. <em>X-Men Arcade</em> arrives in North American on December 14 for PSN and December 15 for XBLA.<br />
<br />
Following October's announcement of Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network versions of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/x-men-arcade">X-Men Arcade</a></em>, many of you had just one question for publisher Konami: "When do we get to play it?" (Two if you count, "Did anyone pick Dazzler yet?") In speaking with <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2010-12-08-x-men-arcade-a-two-month-xbla-exclusive">Eurogamer</a>, Konami confirmed that the game would slice up Xbox Live Arcade in North America and Europe next Wednesday, December 15. PlayStation Network will get the game two months later in February.<br />
<br />
No price has been put to the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/12/x-men-arcade-being-developed-by-backbone-supports-widescreen/">partially updated</a> release, but we're hoping Microsoft's exclusivity money bag keeps it squashed.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/08/x-men-arcade-coming-to-xbla-on-dec-15-as-two-month-exclusive/">X-Men Arcade coming to XBLA on Dec. 15 as two-month exclusive [update]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 08 Dec 2010 11:30:00 EST. Starting December 21, games from the Neo Geo's library will be released on PSN in both PS3 and PSP versions, costing $8.99 and $6.99 each, respectively. The pricing on the PS3 versions is equivalent to the cost of buying Neo Geo games on the Wii Virtual Console.<br />
<br />
Unlike the Virtual Console releases, these aren't <em>just</em> emulated versions of the originals. SNK has added features like online co-op and versus play on PS3 (and Ad-Hoc Party support on PSP), along with other unspecified enhancements. Check after the break for all ten games hitting PS3 on December 21, and the two PSP games arriving at the same time. The other eight are scheduled to arrive on PSP sometime in January.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/07/neo-geo-games-coming-to-psn-with-online-play/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Neo Geo games coming to PSN with online play</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/07/neo-geo-games-coming-to-psn-with-online-play/">Neo Geo games coming to PSN with online play</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 07 Dec 2010 09:39:00 EST. Even though it did come out on a cartridge in North America, EnjoyUp is releasing the DSiWare version anyway, giving <em>Zombie BBQ</em> the unique honor of being available both digitally and in a box.<br />
<br />
Said DSiWare release will occur next Monday, December 13. Look forward to having two convenient options for fulfilling your Red Riding Hood-blasting-the-undead needs. Tighten those wrist straps, friends, and prepare to imagine your PlayStation Move controllers into <em>Top Darts</em>, a new PSN release scheduled to launch in time for Christmas. Developed by Devil's Details, the Move-only game features a host of (uh) <em>top darts</em> games, duh, including 501, Around the Clock and Cricket, with support for up to eight players.<br />
<em><br />
Top Darts</em> also includes single-player League and Cup modes, plus simultaneous multiplayer modes, which do away with the traditional wait-your-darn-turn etiquette, while <em>simultaneously</em> making it safer to throw so many "darts" around your game room at once. Just ... again: Mind those wrist straps!<br />

Adorable puzzle game <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/ilomilo">ilomilo</a></em> may already be out (for free, no less) on Windows Phone 7 devices, but did you know you can play it on your Xbox 360 as well, like, right now? A dutiful tipster pointed us to the developer's website, where a <a href="http://wp7supersecretaccess.ilomilo.com/">"super secret" access page</a> gives out an Xbox Live code that redeems for the trial version of the game.<br />
<br />
As you probably already put together, downloading the trial version of <em>ilomilo</em> also means that -- if you're willing to shell out the 800 MS Points ($10) it costs -- you can totally buy the full game. More bizarre? The game doesn't have an <em>official</em> release date just yet. So, you can buy it right now and tell your friends you're on that <em>new, new, new ish</em>. That "hasn't even been given a release date" <em>ish</em>, you know?<br />
<br />

The virtuous thongs of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/deathspank">DeathSpank</a></em>'s sequel will arrive on PC and Mac later this year, EA has announced. <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/deathspank-thongs-of-virtue">DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue</a></em> will launch on PC November 30, with a Mac release following on December 14 (the original <em>DeathSpank</em> will be released for Mac the same day as <em>ToV </em>-- that's a lot of spanking!). Like the console versions, <em>Thongs of Virtue</em> will cost $14.99.<br />
<br />
<em>DeathSpank: ToV</em> comes with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/21/deathspank-thongs-of-virtue-offers-free-dlc-during-launch-week/">two pieces of free DLC</a> at launch: "Snowy Mountain Dungeon" and "Sidekick Tankko: Half-man, half-spider, and all awesome." If you absolutely can't wait for next Tuesday, a minigame on the <em>DeathSpank</em> website ("<a href="http://www.deathspank.com/spankthis/">DeathSpank: Spank This!</a>") offers you a chance to win free stuff. One grand prize winner will get "a squawkin' chicken, a signed <em>DeathSpank</em> poster, a free copy of <em>DeathSpank</em>, and an Intel Core i7-870." <em>All</em> prize winners, actually, will get that squawkin' chicken, which leads us to believe there's a very large squawkin' chicken population at Hothead. That must make it hard to concentrate on programming.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/24/deathspank-thongs-of-virtue-coming-to-pc-mac-this-year/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue coming to PC, Mac this year</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/24/deathspank-thongs-of-virtue-coming-to-pc-mac-this-year/">DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue coming to PC, Mac this year</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 24 Nov 2010 10:16:00 EST. <br />
First revealed at this year's PAX, <em>Fluidity</em> is a side-scrolling game in which players tilt the Wii Remote to move water through various obstacles, gaining the ability to freeze or boil the water when necessary. While a game like this may not really need a story (do you really need to motivate some water?) Nintendo revealed one in its announcement today:
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;charset=UTF-8"><em>Fluidity</em> is set within an encyclopedia called "Aquaticus," which is apparently under attack from the evil "Influence." Okay, it's not a <em>lot</em> of story.<br />
<br />
To learn more about how <em>Fluidity</em> works, you'll find a 'How to Play" trailer after the break.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fluidity-wiiware/">Fluidity (WiiWare)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fluidity-wiiware/#3330812"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/09/i25206_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fluidity-wiiware/#3330813"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/09/i25207_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fluidity-wiiware/#3330814"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/09/i25208_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fluidity-wiiware/#3330815"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/09/i25209_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fluidity-wiiware/#3330816"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/09/i25210_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></meta><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/23/fluidity-trickles-down-to-wiiware-on-dec-6/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Fluidity trickles down to WiiWare on Dec. 6</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/23/fluidity-trickles-down-to-wiiware-on-dec-6/">Fluidity trickles down to WiiWare on Dec. 6</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 23 Nov 2010 10:35:00 EST. 2D Boy wants you to know that its sticky puzzle game, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/world-of-goo">World of Goo</a></em>, is almost available on the iPad. Furthermore, the developer says it's perfectly acceptable for you to start referring to your iPad as the "WogPad," per the forthcoming release, even though the game is still pending Apple's App Store approval process.<br />
<br />
For now, 2D Boy answered some burning questions from fans, explaining what's going on with iPhone/iPod Touch versions. "There's a lot of iGoo to pour in, and we don't want to release something if it doesn't run absolutely buttery smooth." They also detailed the iPad version's multiplayer, which "you can play two handed, with friends, <a href="http://2dboy.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/WogPad02.jpg">an animal</a>, anything up to eleven fleshy things touching the screen", and confirmed that, yes, you can <em>totally</em> wear a <a href="http://hiddenmushrooms.com/catalog/1">Goo Ball on your head</a> while playing the forthcoming game. <br />

Oh, right, and 2D Boy also says that a sequel to <em>World of Goo</em> would be "something we would enjoy working on," but it would have to "feel like a perfect and appropriate continuation of the first game." Whether it would be made for the WogPad or not, we can't say.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/22/world-of-goo-ipad-wogpad-out-as-soon-as-we-get-approved-by-ap/">World of Goo iPad (WogPad) out 'as soon as we get approved by Apple'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 22 Nov 2010 12:30:00 EST. The game is out Monday, November 22, at which point you will no longer be able to get the pre-order-exclusive poker visor for your Heavy in <em>Team Fortress 2</em>. Yes, it's a really small, minor thing, but getting a free thing is usually better than <em>not</em> getting a free thing. You can also save 10% off the $4.95 price if you pre-order from <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/31280/">Steam</a> before Monday.<br />
<br />
Of course, once you have the game, you have the opportunity to win several more wacky <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/04/poker-night-at-the-inventory-adds-to-your-team-fortress-2-invent/">TF2</a></em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/04/poker-night-at-the-inventory-adds-to-your-team-fortress-2-invent/"> items</a>, like Tycho Brahe's watch and a Sam &amp; Max-inspired Freelance Police badge.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/poker-night-at-the-inventory/">Poker Night at the Inventory</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/poker-night-at-the-inventory/#3591273"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/11/pokernight111901_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/poker-night-at-the-inventory/#3591274"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/11/pokernight111902_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/poker-night-at-the-inventory/#3591275"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/11/pokernight111903_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/poker-night-at-the-inventory/#3591276"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/11/pokernight111904_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/poker-night-at-the-inventory/#3591277"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/11/pokernight111905_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/19/psa-poker-night-at-the-inventory-starts-nov-22/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>PSA: Poker Night at the Inventory starts Nov. 22</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/19/psa-poker-night-at-the-inventory-starts-nov-22/">PSA: Poker Night at the Inventory starts Nov. 22</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 19 Nov 2010 13:30:00 EST. Come December 1, RedLynx will unleash its latest <em>Trials HD</em> DLC<em>,</em> the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/20/trials-hd-dlc-to-deliver-big-thrills-later-this-year/">"Big Thrills" pack</a>, for 400 MS Points ($5). You'll find a trailer highlighting some of the ten user-created tracks selected for the DLC right after the break.<br />
<br />
Before <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/14/trials-hd-jumps-and-flips-past-1-million-sales/"><em>Trials HD</em> rocked Xbox Live Arcade</a>, RedLynx was busy rocking the infotron with a series of smaller, free Java-based and paid games called <em>Trials</em>. Today, the Finland-based studio also announced it's making those classic <em>Trials</em> games from the early aughts available to all, free of charge, in one complete PC bundle. All you have to do is <a href="http://www.redlynxtrials.com/trialslegends/">hit up RedLynx's Facebook page</a>, give it a "like," then the <em>Trials Legends</em> download link will be revealed to you -- or, if you're too lazy to do all of that, just <a href="http://www.redlynxtrials.com/trialslegends/download.php">click this link</a>.<br />
<br />
<em>Trials Legends</em> includes 33 different tracks ripped from the classic <em>Trials </em>games, six different rides to whip around in, 15 different attainable ranks, a track creator tool, and a brief overview of the history of the series. RedLynx also set up <a href="http://www.redlynxgame.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=64">a dedicated forum space</a> for <em>Trials Legends</em>, in case you want to share tracks with others or simply gab about how you narrowly missed that giant shark with the odd mohawk on level 26. Yeah, he got us a few times too.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/18/redlynx-dates-trials-hd-big-thrills-dlc-for-dec-1-gives-away/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>RedLynx dates Trials HD 'Big Thrills' DLC for Dec. 1, gives away free Trials Legends PC bundle</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/18/redlynx-dates-trials-hd-big-thrills-dlc-for-dec-1-gives-away/">RedLynx dates Trials HD 'Big Thrills' DLC for Dec. 1, gives away free Trials Legends PC bundle</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 18 Nov 2010 20:30:00 EST. <br />
That's when the long-awaited (again, by me) <em>Spelunker HD</em> arrives on PSN for $9.99. It features both new, updated HD graphics and a "retro mode" which displays the new game in authentic 8-bit style. Check out a trailer after the break -- a trailer that features surprisingly long stretches of death-free gameplay.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/17/spelunker-hd-brings-the-fragile-explorer-to-psn-november-23/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Spelunker HD brings the fragile explorer to PSN November 23</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/17/spelunker-hd-brings-the-fragile-explorer-to-psn-november-23/">Spelunker HD brings the fragile explorer to PSN November 23</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 17 Nov 2010 17:20:00 EST. id Software head <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/john-carmack">John Carmack</a> has at least one very important trait in common with gangsta rap star (and gaming magnate) <a href="http://twitter.com/finallevel">Ice-T</a>: he's really fun to follow <a href="http://twitter.com/ID_AA_Carmack">on Twitter</a>. When he's not dropping enigmatic missives like, "Closed myself in a 1600 gallon tank for an hour. CO2 rose to 3430 ppm, humidity rose to 71%. No discomfort," he's giving his followers a <a href="http://twitter.com/ID_AA_Carmack/status/4898670105329665">taste of news</a> before it hits anywhere else. "<em>Rage mobile</em> has been approved," he let his followers know this morning. "It should be on the App Store tomorrow morning!"<br />
<br />
Rather than directly port the forthcoming FPS, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/rage-mutant-bash-tv">Rage: Mutant Bash TV</a></em> is an on-rails shooter set in the world of <em>Rage</em>. No price has been set for the game, but id's most expensive iPhone game to date has been the $7 <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/doom-resurrection">Doom: Resurrection</a></em> -- another on-rails shooter.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/17/rage-mutant-bash-tv-should-hit-app-store-tomorrow/">Rage: Mutant Bash TV 'should' hit App Store tomorrow</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 17 Nov 2010 12:00:00 EST. We sure do like <em>Civilization</em>, but a browser-based, war-centric MMO with very similar sounding mechanics? That's something we could <em>really</em> get into. Lucky for us, Snail Games just announced that its free-to-play MMORTS <em>Ministry of War</em>, currently in beta, will launch next Wednesday, November 17. <br />
<br />
Like <em>Civ</em>, <em>MoW</em> takes human history and drops it into an interactive playground. "Imperial Rome, Persia, Egypt, or China" are all at your disposal for world domination against other folks online, and beta users get a reward for participation with a "special in-game item pack." Snail Games promises that no more server wipes will take place after next Wednesday's launch, so <em>now</em> might be a good time to start plotting your path to hegemony.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ministry-of-war-0/">Ministry of War</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ministry-of-war-0/#3566472"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/11/battlescapegreen_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ministry-of-war-0/#3566473"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/11/battle_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ministry-of-war-0/#3566474"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/11/battle2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ministry-of-war-0/#3566475"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/11/battle3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ministry-of-war-0/#3566476"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/11/chinabust_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/12/snail-games-launching-ministry-of-war-mmo-on-november-17/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Snail Games launching Ministry of War MMO on November 17</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/12/snail-games-launching-ministry-of-war-mmo-on-november-17/">Snail Games launching Ministry of War MMO on November 17</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 12 Nov 2010 15:00:00 EST. Taking to the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/11/11/create-will-move-you-november-16th/">US PlayStation blog</a>, EA Bright Light producer Justin Manning revealed the imminent release date for his studio's next game release, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/create">Create</a></em>: November 16 (aka: next Tuesday!). We've also confirmed that Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii iterations of the game will arrive on the same day next week. Given the game's user created level sharing ability via PSN and PlayStation Move functionality, perhaps <em>Create</em> can fill the hole left in your heart by the <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/23/littlebigplanet-2-delayed-until-jan-2011/">LittleBigPlanet 2</a></em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/23/littlebigplanet-2-delayed-until-jan-2011/"> delay</a>? <em>M ... maybe?</em><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/11/create-moving-into-stores-on-november-16/">Create moving into stores on November 16</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 11 Nov 2010 23:23:00 EST. In response to a <a href="http://www.mediatonic.co.uk/blog/2010/10/whos-that-flying-release-date-delay/">freezing glitch</a>, the developer scrapped the October release plans, putting a question mark (and an exclamation point, why not) on the expected date.<br />
<br />
Now, having resolved the issue, Mediatonic has announced new dates for the shooter's PSN release: November 16 in North America and November 17 in Europe. So, just a week until we get to definitively answer the question in the game's title -- oh, wait, it's the "Guardian of Earth" (we knew that who that!). Well, we still have <em>playing the game</em> to look forward to.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/09/whos-that-flying-into-a-new-release-date/">Who's That Flying into a new release date?!</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 09 Nov 2010 07:00:00 EST. However, instead of a shmup, this time the publisher has chosen <em>Crescent Pale Mist</em>, a magical-themed action-platformer developed by Classic Shikoukairo. Rockin' Android has worked with Sony Online Entertainment to spruce up the graphical effects for this ridiculously overblown-looking action game.<br />
<br />
You can see the result for yourself after the break -- sorceress Yunou runs, jumps, and slashes at super-speed against swirling, explosive backdrops. There's really nothing "pale" about it! It'll be out Tuesday for $5.99.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/05/psns-crescent-pale-mist-is-actually-pretty-vivid/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>PSN's Crescent Pale Mist is actually pretty vivid</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/05/psns-crescent-pale-mist-is-actually-pretty-vivid/">PSN's Crescent Pale Mist is actually pretty vivid</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 05 Nov 2010 21:02:00 EST. Looks like the handful of folks with early Kinect games who're <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/28/psa-got-a-kinect-game-early-dont-stick-it-in/">locked out of Xbox Live</a> won't have too much longer to wait -- Microsoft emailed <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/29/video-tour-xbox-360-fall-2010-dashboard-update/">fall Dashboard preview users</a> last night with the announcement that the forthcoming Xbox Live update will go public on November 1. "On November 1, 2010, there will be a mandatory service update to Xbox Live. This update will both add new features to your service and also enhance the interface, navigation, and responsiveness of Xbox Live," the email reads.<br />
<br />
Beyond Kinect functionality, the fall Dashboard update will add ESPN3, refreshed Avatars, and a new voice codec for chat (among other things). This means, besides all that stuff, you'll finally be able to chat with your friends in the Dashboard preview once more. It's been so long, friends!<br />

<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/the-sly-collection"><em>The Sly Collection</em></a> will be available for five-finger discount beginning November 9. If you're in the mood to actually <em>pay</em> for the thievius raccoonus bundle, which includes <em>Sly Cooper</em>, <em>Sly 2: Band of Thieves </em>and <em>Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves</em>, that'll cost you $40.<br />
<br />
The bundle will also include four new minigames for use with the PlayStation Move controller (or DualShock controller), each focusing on Sly, Bentley, Murray or Carmelita. According to Glen Egan of Sanzaru Games, which handled the port of the PS2 classics, each minigame captures "an aspect of the character and presents it in a way that's great fun to play."<br />
<br />
Beyond all that, the games are presented in widescreen with stereoscopic threeeeeeeee-deeeeeeee. We would have typed "3D" there, but then it just looks like our keyboard broke. The publisher announced that the North American release date for Game Republic's adventure, starring Tepeu and his awesome monster pal, has been moved forward a week from November 30 to November 23.<br />
<br />
If <em>you</em> can't wait to play the game, a demo is available right now for Gold subscribers on <a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Majin-and-the-Forsaken-Kingdom/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d8024e4d881e">Xbox Live Marketplace</a>, and will be available on PSN later today. It features the first level of the game, in which Tepeu encounters the giant monster who would become his friend. Of course, not knowing how that plays out, Tepeu probably sees it as "encountering a giant monster," which is less heartwarming.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/majin-and-the-forsaken-kingdom-box-art/">Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom (box art)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/majin-and-the-forsaken-kingdom-box-art/#3507997"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/10/majin102601_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/majin-and-the-forsaken-kingdom-box-art/#3507998"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/10/majin102602_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/26/majin-forsakes-the-kingdom-a-week-early/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Majin Forsakes the Kingdom a week early</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/26/majin-forsakes-the-kingdom-a-week-early/">Majin Forsakes the Kingdom a week early</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 26 Oct 2010 11:00:00 EST. Rockstar's standalone disc-based collection of <em>Red Dead Redemption</em> DLC, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/15/red-dead-redemption-dlc-and-free-roam-mode-get-standalone-retail/"><em>Undead Nightmare</em></a>, is being wrangled into retail on November 23. It includes the Free Roam online mode, along with the Undead Nightmare, Liars and Cheats, Legends and Killers, and Outlaws to the End DLC.<br />
<br />
If you already have <em>Red Dead Redemption</em>, you can simply <a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Undead-Nightmare-Pack/b2fc40b9-9697-4bde-8e65-25ab08cff080">download the new Undead Nightmare pack</a> right now on Xbox 360 for 800 Microsoft Points ($10). You can also download the "<a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Undead-Nightmare-Collection/95a7d99c-7764-40aa-985a-47038ed79d95?cid=search">Undead Nightmare Collection</a>," which bundles the Undead Nightmare, Legends and Killers, and Liars and Cheats DLC, for 1600 MSP ($20). You'll have the same set of choices for PS3 when the PlayStation Store is updated later today.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/26/red-dead-redemption-undead-nightmare-disc-in-stores-nov-23/">Red Dead Redemption 'Undead Nightmare' disc in stores Nov. 23</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 26 Oct 2010 09:30:00 EST. The arcade basketball title will slam dunk into retail on November 17, for the same $50 price point as the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/05/nba-jam-review/">Wii version</a>. Effectively, it replaces <em>NBA Elite 11</em> as EA's holiday basketball game (though analyst Michael Pachter has <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/30/pachter-nba-elite-11-delay-to-cost-ea-1-1-million-sales-this-ye/">predicted</a> that it won't be an adequate replacement). In fact, we're pretty sure someone at EA is desperately trying to perform a Jedi mind trick on us now, to convince us that there was never anything called <em>NBA Elite</em>, and <em>Jam</em> has always been the plan.<br />
<br />
You'll be able to play Classic 2-on-2 mode online on day one, but EA plans to add several additional online features in a December title update -- features like various "Remix Games," four-player Jam Party mode, and an Online Progression mode in which players build their character by taking them through a series of online challenges. The fact that all the online features aren't ready for launch adds more credence to the idea that EA is using this to plug an <em>Elite</em>-shaped hole.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/nba-jam-ps3-xbox-360/">NBA Jam (PS3/Xbox 360)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/nba-jam-ps3-xbox-360/#3492942"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/10/nbajam102101_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/nba-jam-ps3-xbox-360/#3492943"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/10/nbajam102102_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/nba-jam-ps3-xbox-360/#3492944"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/10/nbajam102103_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/nba-jam-ps3-xbox-360/#3492945"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/10/nbajam102104_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/nba-jam-ps3-xbox-360/#3492946"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/10/nbajam102105_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/21/nba-jam-sets-ps3-and-xbox-360-on-fire-nov-17/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>NBA Jam sets PS3 and Xbox 360 on fire Nov. 17</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/21/nba-jam-sets-ps3-and-xbox-360-on-fire-nov-17/">NBA Jam sets PS3 and Xbox 360 on fire Nov. 17</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 21 Oct 2010 09:55:00 EST. Both the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/11/super-mario-wii-and-dsi-xl-systems-coming-to-europe/">red Wii</a> and DSi XL systems will arrive on November 7.<br />
<br />
The $200 Wii bundle includes <em>New Super Mario Bros. Wii</em>, <em>Wii Sports</em>, and a red <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/wii-remote-plus">Wii Remote Plus</a>. Neither the package nor the press release mentions anything about the special versions of the NES <em>Super Mario Bros.</em> or <em>Donkey Kong</em> included in other regions. The $180 DSi XL bundle includes <em>Mario Kart DS</em>, and comes pre-loaded with two <em>Brain Age Express</em> games and <em>Photo Clock.</em><br />
<br />
The Wii Remote Plus, combining a Wiimote and a MotionPlus, will be released the same day for $40, in white, black, pink, and blue. It will be the standard Wii controller from now on, included in hardware bundles. <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/flingsmash">FlingSmash</a></em> will also come packed in with a Wii Remote Plus -- it's out the same day for $50.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-mario-bros-25th-anniversary-systems/">Super Mario Bros. 25th anniversary systems</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-mario-bros-25th-anniversary-systems/#3492778"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/10/nintendo102105_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-mario-bros-25th-anniversary-systems/#3492779"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/10/nintendo102106_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/wii-remote-plus/">Wii Remote Plus</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/wii-remote-plus/#3492792"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/10/nintendo102101_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/wii-remote-plus/#3492794"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/10/nintendo102102_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/wii-remote-plus/#3492795"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/10/nintendo102103_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/wii-remote-plus/#3492796"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/10/nintendo102104_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/21/red-wii-and-dsi-xl-bundles-wii-remote-plus-and-flingsmash-in-n/">Red Wii and DSi XL bundles, Wii Remote Plus, and FlingSmash in North America Nov. 7</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 21 Oct 2010 09:29:00 EST. Sure, the <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/12/razer-announces-line-of-tournament-grade-starcraft-ii-peripher/">StarCraft 2</a></em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/12/razer-announces-line-of-tournament-grade-starcraft-ii-peripher/">-branded</a> Spectre mouse, Marauder keyboard and Banshee headset from Razer (all designed in collaboration with Blizzard) have other features that make them well-suited for games -- like specialized configuration utilities and quick response times -- but those aren't why anyone would buy one of these. Cool backlighting <em>is</em>.<br />
<br />
Besides, when the keyboard description lists things like "Optimized Key Travel Distance" as a selling point, "pretty lights" doesn't seem like such a minor thing to latch on to. The set will be released in the US, Europe and Korea in November, with the mouse retailing for $80 (&euro;80/94,800 won), and the keyboard and headset for $120 (&euro;120/142,800 won) each.<br />

We know, we know -- you're <em>really</em> into solving murder mysteries, but you still don't own a PlayStation 3. You'll be glad to hear that <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/blue-toad-murder-files">Blue Toad Murder Files</a></em> is finally heading to the PC, having completed its episodic launch on the PlayStation Network. All six episodes of the relentlessly British puzzle game (from the creators of <em>Buzz!</em>) will be available as of November 24 from "online games distribution sites," in addition to the game's <a href="http://www.bluetoadmurderfiles.co.uk/">official website</a>, for $19.99 (&pound;14.99). <br />

If you're up for a classic top-down action RPG for your PSP, you can grab this remake on November 2.<br />
<br />
The special edition version (pictured) will be available from Amazon, GameStop, Videogamesplus.ca and "other fine retailers," and will include a soundtrack and desk calendar. The regular edition will be available in both UMD and download forms for $30.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/20/ys-the-oath-in-felghana-in-stores-and-on-psn-nov-2/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Ys: The Oath in Felghana in stores and on PSN Nov. 2</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/20/ys-the-oath-in-felghana-in-stores-and-on-psn-nov-2/">Ys: The Oath in Felghana in stores and on PSN Nov. 2</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 20 Oct 2010 02:00:00 EST. <em> Blacklight: Tango Down 2</em> may <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/14/blacklight-tango-down-2-in-development-zombie-studios-confirms/">already be in production</a> and on schedule for next summer, but Zombie Studios isn't letting go of its promise to bring <em>Blacklight: Tango Down</em> to PlayStation 3 owners across the globe. Publisher UTV Ignition has announced an October 26 release date for the download-only FPS in North America, followed by a November 3 release on the European PSN.<br />
<br />
In the announcement, UTV says the game will come with "PSN-exclusive content," including a "join-in-progress" option for multiplayer -- the publisher teases more info on the exclusive content will be revealed "shortly." Like it's Xbox 360 and PC counterparts, the PS3 version of <em>Blacklight</em> will be priced at $15 (&pound;10/&euro;13) when it arrives on PSN.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/19/blacklight-tango-down-advances-to-psn-on-oct-26/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Blacklight: Tango Down advances to PSN on Oct. 26</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/19/blacklight-tango-down-advances-to-psn-on-oct-26/">Blacklight: Tango Down advances to PSN on Oct. 26</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 19 Oct 2010 18:00:00 EST. <em>Karaoke Revolution Glee</em> welcomes everyone to New Directions this November 9 on Wii. The game will feature songs and scenes from the first season of the hit FOX TV series -- which means, sadly, no <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAZVcEF-vgc&amp;feature=related">Brittany doing</a> <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGuKXQJdv2Y">Britney</a>. Check out 10 of the 30 songs to be included in the game after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/19/glees-karaoke-revolution-comes-to-wii-november-9/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Glee's Karaoke Revolution comes to Wii November 9</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/19/glees-karaoke-revolution-comes-to-wii-november-9/">Glee's Karaoke Revolution comes to Wii November 9</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 19 Oct 2010 15:00:00 EST. The $69.99 package will include the tablet and uDraw Studio, a drawing and coloring game. In addition, the other two known uDraw-compatible games, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/17/pictionary-and-doods-big-adventure-coming-for-udraw-on-wii/">Pictionary</a></em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/17/pictionary-and-doods-big-adventure-coming-for-udraw-on-wii/"> and </a><em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/17/pictionary-and-doods-big-adventure-coming-for-udraw-on-wii/">Dood's Big Adventure</a></em>, will also be released on November 14, for $30 each.<br />
<br />
Along with these three release dates (or this one release date for three things), THQ noted that "Future waves of video game titles are planned during calendar 2011 and beyond." It's nice to have <em>some</em> measure of reassurance that the peripheral will be supported, at least.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/udraw-studio-wii/">uDraw Studio (Wii)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/udraw-studio-wii/#3269401"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/08/udraw001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/udraw-studio-wii/#3269402"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/08/udraw002_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/udraw-studio-wii/#3269403"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/08/udraw003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/udraw-studio-wii/#3269404"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/08/udraw004_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/udraw-studio-wii/#3269405"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/08/udraw005_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/15/thq-pencils-in-udraw-release-date-november-14/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>THQ pencils in uDraw release date: November 14</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/15/thq-pencils-in-udraw-release-date-november-14/">THQ pencils in uDraw release date: November 14</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 15 Oct 2010 16:00:00 EST. The new controller will be available in black, white, pink and blue. Nintendo has yet to announce a price, but the price in Japan is equivalent to a normal Wiimote, so it'll probably be a similar deal in Europe.<br />

If you want to get a Wii Remote Plus early, and if you have the money, a red one will be included with the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/11/super-mario-wii-and-dsi-xl-systems-coming-to-europe/">Super Mario Bros. anniversary edition Wii</a> on October 29.
