It's times like these that we wish we had $250 to burn on a quilt.

Even if we can't buy this, though, we can sure admire it (along with many other Space Invaders themed items). The quilt might not have the same explosive color as Space Invaders Extreme, but it sure makes the classic icons look all warm and cozy. Who wouldn't want to snuggle with these alienoids?

Made by Emily from the Etsy shop CarolinaPatchworks (who you might remember as the craftster behind this 8-bit Zelda quilt), you can buy this blanket if you have some extra green lying around. You also might want to check out her other gaming items -- she even takes recommendations.

It's been a while since we lavished some love on our favorite inanimate game character. We are, of course, talking about the Weighted Companion Cube from the best game evar, Portal. So, check out this completely awesome Weighted Companion Cube quilt. Don't go looking to snap up one for yourself just yet though, as it appears to be one of a kind. It was purchased by blogger That Girl, who bought it from a very gifted crafter known as Punzie. It's worth noting that Punzie does have quite a few other products featuring video game themes and characters (we're particularly fond of the Triforce pillow). Who knows, maybe if you ask nicely enough, you might get a Companion Quilt of your very own.

As we have seen on previous occasions, patchwork quilts are perfect for recreating scenes from NES-era games. However, the Mario depicted on this quilt is a little more modern, and the results are no less spectacular.

Crafted by the wife of BoingBoing reader Brian (a.k.a bishmasterb), this work of art uses sixteen types of fabric, and is 36 columns by 44 rows tall (six feet by eight feet). Oh, and it's hung on that wall for the last five years, hidden from an appreciative world! For the record, we fully support the decision to show it off on its own wall. You can't actually use things that are this beautiful. That would be madness.

Every time we go to Craftster to look at this latest Nintendo quilt, we temporarily get distracted by the creator's choice of username: "iddosteveperry." How great is that? You'd have to make a hell of a quilt to outshine a username like that.

We don't know if this Bowser-centric quilt manages to be more awesome than a pseudonymous admission of casual attraction to the ex-Journey frontman, but it's a pretty neat quilt. It's well-done, especially for a first quilt, very colorful, and features the Super Mario Bros.-era Bowser sprite! Quilt: we kinda like you, baby.

Look, it's all well and good stomping off to rescue princesses and reassemble golden triangular relics, but at least remember that it's a cold, unforgiving world out there, and you'll need something warm to wrap around yourself at some point. As the only other Zelda quilt we've posted about was never put up for sale, this one should do the trick, even if it is ... $475?! We advise chopping grass to raise the required funds.

StephaniePrice, the Craftster who created the beautiful Mario mushroom quilt, is at it again. Or, more precisely, she was at it twice simultaneously and has just now gotten around to posting the second quilt. This time, it's a Final Fantasy-themed creation featuring the iconic Black Mage.

We love gamer quilts for the obvious reasons: we like games, and sometimes we get cold. Big pixels translate perfectly to squares of fabric, as well. We would be happy to pack something like this to keep us warm on some kind of major quest we were undertaking, although about the most epic quest we ever have is navigating the bedroom in the dark without busting our feet.

This quilt from Craftster member dishwasher182 combines two of our favorite things in life: The original Legend of Zelda and being warm while sleeping. We aren't sure how we'd rank those two things.

Maybe we should start quilting, so we can have our own enormous pixel-perfect Link holding a very ziggurat-esque Triforce. But we aren't sure we're up to the challenge of cutting and sewing together over 400 squares. In fact, we know we aren't. We're exhausted from reaching up to the number keys just now.
