Sony also promises tweaks like simpler calibration, more opportunities to customize your avatar, and multiple user profiles.<br /><br />The new "Party Play" mode lets users set playlists of matches, then compete for score. "You can create your own match playlist, see photos and voices from each player during the game, and draw something humiliating (or nice!) on the hapless loser," says producer Jeremy Ray. He probably means in the game. You <em>always</em> had the option of drawing on your friends.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/31/sports-champions-2-takes-a-victory-lap-on-ps-move-this-fall/">Sports Champions 2 takes a victory lap on PS Move this fall</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 31 May 2012 10:00:00 EST. Insomniac head (and general nice dude) Ted Price took to the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/05/30/ratchet-clank-full-frontal-assault-coming-to-psn-this-fall/">US PlayStation Blog</a> this afternoon to announce "Ratchet &amp; Clank: Full Frontal Assault" for PlayStation Network, alongside plans to launch the game "this holiday season."<br /><br />Aside from the artwork you see above and the logo we've dropped in the gallery below, Price offered few details on the game. He said it'll be a "fun-sized" R&amp;C title (like <em>Ratchet &amp; Clank Future: Quest for Booty</em> before it), and that the game will return to "the series' classic feel, camera, controls, and weapons, while innovating and giving you a whole new way to play." What that <em>means</em> is another question altogether. Price also said that the game will feature online co-op, but kept details similarly slim.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ratchet-and-clank-full-frontal-assault/">Ratchet &amp; Clank: Full Frontal Assault</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ratchet-and-clank-full-frontal-assault/#5054184"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/ratchetclankfa01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ratchet-and-clank-full-frontal-assault/#5054185"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/ratchetclankfalogo_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/30/ratchet-and-clank-full-frontal-assault-is-insomniacs-next-psn-ga/">Ratchet &amp; Clank: Full Frontal Assault is Insomniac's next PSN game, arriving this fall</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 30 May 2012 12:30:00 EST. The reason for the delay was not disclosed. When reached for comment, a Namco Bandai representative informed Joystiq that the title is still slated for a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/05/inversion-flipping-out-in-north-america-on-june-5-june-8-in-eur/">June 5 launch</a> in North America. Whatever the reason, it looks like Europe, at least, will have to wait just a bit longer to shoot baddies while walking on the ceiling.<br /><br />This marks the second delay for <em>Inversion</em>, which saw its original February release date pushed back earlier this year.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/29/inversion-delayed-to-july-in-europe-still-on-track-in-us/">Inversion delayed to July in Europe, still on track in US</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 29 May 2012 13:00:00 EST. According to Platinum, "Sega has decided to change the date to TBC [to be confirmed]." <a href="http://platinumgames.com/2012/05/25/pg-break-episode-08/">A note</a> clarified the situation further: "While our work on the game is finished, localized, and ready to go, as publisher, Sega gets to make the final decision as to when it is released."<br /><br />For its part, Sega hasn't announced the delay or even acknowledged it as far as we can tell. Given that the game is still planned for a July 5 launch in Japan, and Platinum's statement suggests the game is "finished, localized, and ready to go," we expect to hear an updated launch date for US/EU territories pretty soon. The game <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/15/anarchy-reigns-reined-in-until-july-2012/">already got pushed out seven months</a>, though, so you never know.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/25/anarchy-reigns-us-eu-release-date-pushed-once-again-this-time-t/">Anarchy Reigns US/EU release date pushed once again, this time to 'TBC'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 25 May 2012 13:30:00 EST. International release dates for the PS3/Xbox 360 mech game compilation have yet to be announced beyond "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/29/zone-of-the-enders-hd-collection-takes-flight-this-fall/">fall</a>".<br /><br />During the event, Hideo Kojima also announced that work has begun on a sequel currently codenamed "Enders Project." Kojipro is prototyping the game in its own Fox Engine, converting physical models into Fox Engine 3D models. Now we'll see if it's similarly helpful for movies <em>about Super Meat Boy</em>. Following its limited theatrical run, <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/indie-game-the-movie">Indie Game: The Movie</a></em> will be released digitally through <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/207080">Steam</a> on June 12. Pre-orders are open for $9; normal price is $10. The "Rebellion Pack" multiplayer DLC for <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/mass-effect-3"><em>Mass Effect 3</em></a>, including new "Firebase Jade" and "Firebase Goddess" environments, new Quarian, Vorcha, and Phoenix classes, and three new weapons, will be released next week. It was first <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/16/rumor-mass-effect-3s-next-dlc-is-the-rebellion-multiplayer-exp/">pseudo-announced</a> by Sony Hong Kong, but the listing was then pulled; today, EA finally confirmed the DLC.<br /><br />If you'd like to join the Rebellion, you'll be able to do so May 29 on PC and Xbox Live worldwide and on PSN in North America; European PSN owners will be strategically deployed one day later. It's free for Online Pass owners (so if you don't have the Online Pass, it's $10 for that, and then the pack is free.)<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/24/mass-effect-3-rebellion-pack-dlc-breaks-out-may-29-30/">Mass Effect 3 'Rebellion Pack' DLC breaks out May 29/30</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 24 May 2012 12:21:00 EST. Led by Ron Gilbert, <em>The Cave</em> sees an eclectic cluster of impromptu spelunkers - including a scientist, a monk, a knight and a time traveler - finding their fortunes (and perhaps more) in the titular, mysterious and, err, "sultry" subterranean network. That's right: The Cave can speak.<br /><br />The rest of the protagonists are silent, but up to three can venture into The Cave at a time. After picking your trio, you guide them all deeper into the seamless network of underground rooms, switching control between each to solve puzzles and exploit their unique abilities. The knight, for instance, can activate a guardian angel that protects him from flames and falls, while the hillbilly can hold his breath underwater forever. (Take that, Guybrush Threepwood!)<br /><br />The game can be completed with any combination of characters, but certain endings and unique areas are locked to individual characters. Having the knight in your group, for example, will open up the medieval castle and its puzzles for play. And yes, there just happens to be a castle buried deep within in <em>The Cave</em>. With a "New Grog" vending machine (among other inharmonious objects) cropping up in the network's lower bowels, we think it's safe to say that Ron Gilbert's touch is evident throughout the game.<br /><br />He also programmed the whole thing himself, we think. Probably.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-cave/">The Cave</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-cave/#5043507"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/cave01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-cave/#5043508"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/cave02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-cave/#5043509"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/cave03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-cave/#5043510"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/cave04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-cave/#5043511"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/cave05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/24/the-cave-opens-up-to-adventurers-in-2013-care-of-ron-gilbert-an/">The Cave opens up to adventurers in 2013, care of Ron Gilbert and Double Fine</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 24 May 2012 09:27:00 EST. Why, we remember when she was just an NPC in a PS2 game, cheering for us as we showed off in the batting cages ... they grow up so fast.<br /><br />According to the summary of this Famitsu interview, <em>Yakuza 5</em> has had double the development time of previous games, and features a new engine, allowing the game to move from battle scenes to adventuring "seamlessly." The game is reportedly set for a Japanese release this December.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/23/yakuza-5-due-in-japan-december-2012-has-new-engine/">Yakuza 5 due in Japan December 2012, has new engine</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 23 May 2012 11:30:00 EST. Take-Two's latest <a href="http://ir.take2games.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=86428&amp;p=irol-newsArticle&amp;ID=1698793&amp;highlight=">earnings report</a> gives the game a "fiscal year 2014" date, which puts it between April 1, 2013 and March 31, 2014.<br /><br />The previous release window announcement put it in the previous fiscal year - and that announcement was, itself, a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/08/xcom-delayed-beyond-q1-2012/">delay</a> from a proposed March 6, 2012 release date. Four years later, Subatomic is back, and so is <em>Fieldrunners</em>.<br /><br /><em>Fieldrunners 2</em> is due on iPhone "at the end of June" with an iPad-optimized version following. It expands on the gameplay of the first one with more, and more varied, maps, over 20 upgradeable towers, and more than 30 enemy types trying to ruin them. New features include puzzle and "sudden death" maps and air strike and powerup attacks.<br /><br />Check out the first screens and art in our gallery, and enjoy the feeling of nostalgia for an iPhone game for the first time.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fieldrunners-2-ios/">Fieldrunners 2 (iOS)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fieldrunners-2-ios/#5039169"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/fieldrunners201_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fieldrunners-2-ios/#5039170"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/fieldrunners202_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fieldrunners-2-ios/#5039171"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/fieldrunners203_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fieldrunners-2-ios/#5039172"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/fieldrunners204_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fieldrunners-2-ios/#5039175"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/titlescreen1278x845_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/22/fieldrunners-2-dashes-to-iphone-in-june/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Fieldrunners 2 dashes to iPhone in June</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/22/fieldrunners-2-dashes-to-iphone-in-june/">Fieldrunners 2 dashes to iPhone in June</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 May 2012 10:30:00 EST. Developed by John Romero's social studio Loot Drop, <em>Commander </em>is linked with Ubisoft's free-to-play <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Ghost-Recon-Online/">Ghost Recon Online</a></em> and the upcoming <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Ghost-Recon-Future-Soldier/">Ghost Recon: Future Soldier</a></em>.<br /><br /><em>Ghost Recon Commander</em> is an isometric, tactical-strategy game within the popular Tom Clancy license, featuring ten "replayable missions, three difficulty levels and dozens of weapons for players to choose from."<br /><br />By playing <em>Commander</em>, players can unlock "exclusive weapons, weapon skins and bonuses to use while playing <em>Ghost Recon: Future Soldier</em> and <em>Ghost Recon Online</em>." There are also additional "benefits" to linking the products, such as unlocking characters in Commander by playing Future Soldier. It is advisable to check it out; however, we wouldn't recommend poking anyone on the battlefield. One of you won't make it out alive.<br /><br />Joystiq has contacted Ubisoft on the release date for <em>Commander</em>'s mobile version, which was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/04/loot-drop-deploying-ghost-recon-commander-to-facebook-mobile-de/">announced in April</a>.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ghost-recon-commander-5-21-12/">Ghost Recon Commander (5/21/12)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ghost-recon-commander-5-21-12/#5037273"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/aim-grenadescreenshot_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ghost-recon-commander-5-21-12/#5037274"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/basescreenshot_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ghost-recon-commander-5-21-12/#5037275"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/double-kill-prisonscreenshot_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ghost-recon-commander-5-21-12/#5037276"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/equip-ghostscreenshot_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ghost-recon-commander-5-21-12/#5037277"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/marketscreenshot_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/21/ghost-recon-commander-deploys-to-facebook/">Ghost Recon Commander deploys to Facebook</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 21 May 2012 15:20:00 EST. "That's my intention," Gilray said. "The QA might say 'noooo' but that's my plan anyway."<br /><br />The Vita version includes tweaks to make the game more natural on a handheld, like the ability to switch between third- and first-person views by double-tapping on the touchscreen, and using a "pinch" gesture to zoom.<br /><br />Gilray also hopes to get the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/14/oddworld-munchs-oddysee-hd-coming-q2-see-munchs-new-model/">HD update</a> of <em>Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee</em> out in June. That's planned for PS3 and Xbox, though of course only the PS3 version was mentioned.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/21/oddworld-strangers-wrath-vita-munchs-oddysee-hd-both-due-in/">Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath Vita, Munch's Oddysee HD both due in June</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 21 May 2012 10:15:00 EST. The Gearbox Software-developed game was previously given a "fall 2012" launch window, and was planned as a Wii U hardware launch title (the game is also planned for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC), though no hard date was ever given before. In fact, despite the February 12 date announcement, the game's Wii U version still doesn't have a date. "A release date for the announced Wii U version will be revealed at a later time," the press release reads.<br /><br />Upset? That's understandable, but Sega's hoping to deflect some of that rage with a new trailer, which we've dropped just above.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/21/aliens-colonial-marines-delayed-to-february-2013/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Aliens: Colonial Marines delayed to February 2013 on 360/PS3/PC, Wii U date to be revealed later</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/21/aliens-colonial-marines-delayed-to-february-2013/">Aliens: Colonial Marines delayed to February 2013 on 360/PS3/PC, Wii U date to be revealed later</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 21 May 2012 09:07:00 EST. And hey, the game is set to launch on May 30 according to the latest trailer. That's pretty soon!<br /><br />Like <em>Trials</em> before it, <em>Mad Riders</em> is a digital-only title, but unlike Trials, it's not limited to a single console (<em>Mad Riders</em> is headed to PSN, XBLA, and PC). It'll be available one day earlier for PSN users on May 29, and May 30 on XBLA and PC, but it'll cost the same on all three: a cool $10. Techland describes that as "an awesome game for the price of a pizza," though we'd warn the studio against devaluing its games as such. What kind of pizza are you gonna get for $10? <em>Terrible</em> pizza, that's what!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/18/techlands-mad-riders-touches-down-on-psn-may-29-xbla-pc-on-may/">Techland's Mad Riders touches down on PSN May 29, XBLA/PC on May 30</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 18 May 2012 13:05:00 EST. The Vita port includes new control options, utilizing the touch-screen and rear touchpad, allowing players to "zoom in on captivating cut-scenes, peek around corners, interrogate enemies, cycle through weapons, and perform rapid attacks with their knife."<br /><br />In addition to the new control options, the PS Vita version of <em>Metal Gear Solid HD Collection</em> can use <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/transfarring">Transfarring</a> to sync save files with the PS3 game. Of course to use this feature you need to own <em>Metal Gear Solid HD Collection</em> on both the PS3 and PS Vita.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/17/konami-confirms-june-12-launch-date-for-metal-gear-solid-hd-on-v/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Konami confirms June 12 launch date for Metal Gear Solid HD on Vita</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/17/konami-confirms-june-12-launch-date-for-metal-gear-solid-hd-on-v/">Konami confirms June 12 launch date for Metal Gear Solid HD on Vita</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 17 May 2012 18:30:00 EST. The BBC announced today that <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/doctor-who-the-eternity-clock"><em>Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock</em></a> will be released "globally" on PlayStation Network Wednesday, May 23, and in UK retail the following Friday. "We really appreciate your patience as we've been making sure the game is perfect for all you eager fans," said executive producer Simon Harris, referencing the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/23/doctor-who-breaks-the-silence-dances-with-daleks-in-march-2012/">two-month delay</a> of the game, which made the title unfortunately ironic.<br /><br />The brief announcement on the <a href="http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2012/05/14/step-into-the-tardis-from-may-23rd-with-doctor-who-the-eternity-clock/">PlayStation Blog</a> did not offer any release dates for the announced PC or PlayStation Vita versions. It also doesn't tell us if the game will finally reveal the fate of the Doctor's daughter <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samantha_Who%3F">Samantha</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/16/doctor-who-the-eternity-clock-lands-on-psn-may-23/">Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock lands on PSN May 23</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 16 May 2012 02:00:00 EST. Farrell said that the delay from the previous June date was a "demonstration of our commitment to quality" - and that, after discussions with retailers, the publisher determined that "mid-August is a more favorable release window."<br /><br />Pre-orders for <em>Darksiders 2</em> are more than five times what they were for the first game at the equivalent point before release, Farrell noted. THQ is accompanying this release with double the marketing spend of the first game as well - it <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/15/thq-sees-net-loss-of-239-9-million-still-in-business/">needs a hit game</a>, and badly.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/15/darksiders-2-rides-into-retail-august-14/">Darksiders 2 rides into retail August 14</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 15 May 2012 17:39:00 EST. It's a bit of a catch-22. Also out today is "Snow's Story: Perpetual Battlefield," a Coliseum battle with Snow that also unlocks him. <br /><br />These two episodes mark the end of <em>Final Fantasy XIII-2</em> DLC, but Square is ending on a high note by releasing them alongside a set of 16 new costumes for Mog.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/15/lightnings-story-finally-hits-final-fantasy-xiii-2/">Lightning's story finally hits Final Fantasy XIII-2</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 15 May 2012 12:00:00 EST. As previously revealed, <em>Joy Ride Turbo</em> features several different modes, including a new Stunt Park, and generally sounds a lot more like the <em>Joy Ride</em> Microsoft originally announced <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/02/take-a-joyride-with-the-first-trailer-for-joy-ride/">way back in 2009</a>.<br /><br />If your Kinect is feeling lonely as a result, this week's Xbox Live Deal of the Week revolves entirely around downloadable Kinect titles. Specifically, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/might-and-magic-clash-of-heroes"><em>Might &amp; Magic: Clash of Heroes</em></a> will be reduced to $7.50, while <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/outland"><em>Outland</em></a> and <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/beyond-good-and-evil-hd"><em>Beyond Good &amp; Evil HD</em></a> will be available for $5 each.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/15/joy-ride-turbo-skids-onto-xbox-live-arcade-may-23/">Joy Ride Turbo skids onto Xbox Live Arcade May 23</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 15 May 2012 11:30:00 EST. Pokemon caught in this game, including "some hard-to-get Pokemon," can be transferred into <em>Black 2</em> and <em>White 2</em>.<br /><br /><em>Pokedex 3D Pro</em> is an upgraded version of the free Pokedex 3D app, with "detailed information about the more than 600 Pok&eacute;mon featured in the history of the Pok&eacute;mon video game series." Unlike Pokedex 3D, which hid many of its contents behind AR markers, everyone is unlocked from the start.<br /><br />Pricing information was not announced for North America, but <em>Dream Radar</em> and <em>Pokedex 3D Pro</em> sell for 300 yen ($3.75) and 1,500 yen ($18.77) in Japan respectively. Is ultimate <em>Pokemon</em> knowledge worth $18 to you?<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pokedex-3d-pro-3ds-eshop/">Pokedex 3D Pro (3DS eShop)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pokedex-3d-pro-3ds-eshop/#5024782"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/pokedex3dprobk_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pokedex-3d-pro-3ds-eshop/#5024783"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/pokedex3dpropika1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pokedex-3d-pro-3ds-eshop/#5024784"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/pokedex3dpropika2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pokedex-3d-pro-3ds-eshop/#5024785"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/pokedex3dpropika3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pokedex-3d-pro-3ds-eshop/#5024786"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/pokedex3dprowk_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pokemon-dream-radar-3ds-eshop/">Pokemon Dream Radar (3DS eShop)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/pokemon-dream-radar-3ds-eshop/#5024787"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/pokemon-dream-radar_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/15/pokemon-dream-radar-pokedex-3d-pro-coming-to-north-american-3ds/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Pokemon Dream Radar, Pokedex 3D Pro coming to North American 3DS this fall</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/15/pokemon-dream-radar-pokedex-3d-pro-coming-to-north-american-3ds/">Pokemon Dream Radar, Pokedex 3D Pro coming to North American 3DS this fall</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 15 May 2012 10:30:00 EST. Well, that ruins our analogy.<br /><br /><em>Dreadline</em> is a hybrid RPG, real-time strategy title from Eerie Canal, a new studio formed by individuals who have worked at Irrational Games, Harmonix and Iron Lore. In <em>Dreadline</em>, players control a group of monsters who travel back through time to human disasters and kill the humans who are doomed to die in the disaster - one level centers around the Titanic, for example.<br /><br /><em>Dreadline</em> has been in the works for six months now and is slated for launch in the first half of 2013 on PC.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/14/dreadline-a-game-about-killing-soon-to-be-dead-people-from-ex-i/">Dreadline: a game about killing soon-to-be-dead people from ex-Irrational and Harmonix devs</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 14 May 2012 19:00:00 EST. And now, we are <em>in</em> the final countdown before <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/virtua-fighter-5-final-showdown"><em>Final Showdown's</em></a> release. Sega announced today that the 3D fighter will arrive on PSN June 5 and on XBLA June 6.<br /><br />Should you want to make the delightfully budget-priced fighter less budget-priced, the release will be accompanied by a bunch of character customization DLC. Individual character packs (containing "600-950" items!) will be released for $5/400 MS Points; or you can buy two bundle packs (one with 9 characters' items and one with 10) for $15/1,200 points, also on release day.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/14/virtua-fighter-5-final-showdown-due-june-5-on-psn-june-6-on-xbl/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown due June 5 on PSN, June 6 on XBLA</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/14/virtua-fighter-5-final-showdown-due-june-5-on-psn-june-6-on-xbl/">Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown due June 5 on PSN, June 6 on XBLA</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 14 May 2012 10:15:00 EST. Rather than question the logistics of a budget re-release of a game that was never released in the first place, we'll celebrate the $19.99 price point under which it's coming out.<br /><br />Also joining the Nintendo Selects line are two bona fide Wii games, <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/super-smash-bros-brawl"><em>Super Smash Bros. Brawl</em></a> and the excellent <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/donkey-kong-country-returns"><em>Donkey Kong Country Returns</em></a>, at $30 each. It's about (two years past) time for <em>Brawl</em> to be made cheaper, though it's unusual that these two games will sell for $10 above the normal Nintendo Selects price.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/nintendo-selects-mario-power-tennis-and-pikmin-2/">Nintendo Selects (Mario Power Tennis and Pikmin 2)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/nintendo-selects-mario-power-tennis-and-pikmin-2/#5022191"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/nintendoselects1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/nintendo-selects-mario-power-tennis-and-pikmin-2/#5022192"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/nintendoselects2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/14/pikmin-2-mario-power-tennis-on-us-wii-june-10-dkc-returns-and/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Pikmin 2, Mario Power Tennis on US Wii June 10, DKC Returns and Brawl discounted</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/14/pikmin-2-mario-power-tennis-on-us-wii-june-10-dkc-returns-and/">Pikmin 2, Mario Power Tennis on US Wii June 10, DKC Returns and Brawl discounted</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 14 May 2012 09:45:00 EST. The developer is pushing back the release date of the next <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/tomb-raider-2012"><em>Tomb Raider</em></a>, from Fall 2012 into the first quarter of 2013. (Yes, the same quarter that now hosts another one of 2012's former heavy hitters, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/09/bioshock-infinite-delayed/"><em>Bioshock Infinite</em></a>.)<br /><br />"Our priority now is to make sure we fully deliver the very highest quality game," Crystal Dynamics Head Darrell Gallagher wrote. In a missive posted on the game's official forums, Gallagher shared the studio's push to make <em>Tomb Raider</em> "the best game of our careers." The delay will boost quality up to "a level that you deserve," he said.<br /><br />The shift in release date has also given us an unexpected sense of optimism. If enough promising games get pushed into next year, we might actually start rooting for the world's continued existence beyond 2012.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/14/tomb-raider-delayed-until-q1-2013/">Tomb Raider delayed until Q1 2013</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 14 May 2012 02:30:00 EST. Take-Two is a publicly traded company, and one fewer gigantic product launch during the holiday season - arguably Take-Two's <em>only</em> holiday product launch, unless you count fall launches of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/borderlands-2"><em>Borderlands 2</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/xcom-enemy-unknown"><em>XCOM: Enemy Unknown</em></a> as "holiday" - means that shareholders will want to know what's up. That worry is reflected in Take-Two's stock price, which took a <a href="http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=TTWO">five percent hit</a> since the market opened this morning.<br /><br />But when <em>Infinite</em> got pushed out of the holiday season, it opened the slot up for another high-profile Take-Two-published title: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/grand-theft-auto-5"><em>Grand Theft Auto 5</em></a>. "In our view, the delay opens the window for <em>Grand Theft Auto V</em> to be released in October 2012," Michael Pachter of Webush Securities wrote in an email this morning, echoing a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/08/rockstar-north-employee-cv-gives-grand-theft-auto-v-an-october-l/">release window leak</a> from earlier this year.<br /><br />In his eyes, <em>Infinite</em> wasn't just delayed to make it "something even more extraordinary," as Ken Levine put it, but because the folks at Rockstar, "notified Take-Two that <em>GTA V</em> would be ready for October." He believes this resulted in Take-Two offering Irrational Games an extra few months to prepare <em>BioShock Infinite</em>. His logic? "The studio [Rockstar Games] has scheduled every prior GTA release during that month (with <em>GTA IV</em> delayed to April 2008, due to bugs in the PS3 version)."<br /><br />Furthermore, Pachter and co. speculate we could hear more about <em>GTA 5</em>'s launch date "as early as May 22" during a scheduled quarterly investor call, or perhaps in a few more weeks at E3 2012. We've yet to hear back from Irrational, Rockstar, or Take-Two on the subject.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/09/wedbush-thinks-grand-theft-auto-5-will-launch-in-october/">Wedbush thinks Grand Theft Auto 5 will launch in October</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 09 May 2012 14:15:00 EST. This morning, Sony Computer Entertainment revealed the Crystal White PlayStation Vita (in an <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/07/04/ad-critic-sonys-racially-charged-psp-ad/">uncontroversial</a> manner), shipping June 28 in both wi-fi and 3G models. In hindsight, that makes a bit more sense considering that the Game of the Year Edition also hits that day.<br /><br />Though our minds know another month isn't that long of a wait, our hearts are just as broken as Harley's. Come, ease the pain with <a href="http://ow.ly/i/BhxC/original">this absurdly high-resolution version</a> of the cover art seen above.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/04/harley-quinns-revenge-to-commence-on-may-29/">Harley Quinn's Revenge to commence on May 29</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 04 May 2012 22:00:00 EST. We've reached out to Activision for comment and will update with anything we're able to dig up. For now, let's just imagine the possibilities, and hope things <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Family_guy_video_game">turn out better this time</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/03/amazon-lists-family-guy-back-to-the-multiverse-for-ps3-and-36/">Amazon lists 'Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse' for PS3 and 360</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 03 May 2012 18:46:00 EST. But have you <em>heard</em> it? Without all the pictures, and the talking? If you'd like to experience the soundtrack to the movie (by <em>Superbrothers: Sword &amp; Sworcery EP</em> composer Jim Guthrie) in isolation, you can now pre-order it from <a href="http://jimguthrie.bandcamp.com/album/indie-game-the-movie-soundtrack">Bandcamp</a> and iTunes, due on May 15.<br /><br />If you'd like something tangible with your audible goods, you can opt for the double LP vinyl release, or pick up a t-shirt with your digital or vinyl album. Both the LP and the t-shirt feature new artwork by designer <a href="http://cargocollective.com/coryschmitz">Cory Schmitz</a>, whose work you may be <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/20/presenting-joystiq-t-shirts-for-you-to-buy-on-topatoco/">wearing</a> right now! And if you have yet to see the movie, you can find out <a href="http://www.indiegamethemovie.com/igtmscreenings/">here</a> if a screening is coming up near you.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/03/indie-game-the-movie-the-soundtrack-the-pre-order-offers/">Indie Game: The Movie: The Soundtrack: The Pre-order offers</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 03 May 2012 13:15:00 EST.
