The PlayStation Vita version of Gaijin Games' <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/runner-2"><em>Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien</em></a> will block, spring, slide and/or jump its way onto PlayStation Network sometime between mid-July and mid-August, Gaijin Games designer Danny Johnson told us during this week's E3 in Los Angeles.<br />
<br />
"At least that's the plan," Johnson said. "The version we have here [at E3] has been in development for a couple weeks - less than a month I think - so it's something that's fairly recent. We don't have the kinks quite worked out yet, but we wanted to show people that it's a thing."<br />
<br />
We spent time with the demo on-hand, and found that it was identical to the console/PC versions, save for some framerate issues on certain levels. Johnson added that the framerate problem is one of the kinks Gaijin has yet to work out, but that the release build will be on par with the existing versions on terms of performance.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/13/runner-2-vita-release-window-narrowed-to-between-mid-july-and-m/">Runner 2 Vita release window narrowed to 'between mid-July and mid-August'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 13 Jun 2013 16:15:00 EST. An enormous sign on the LA Convention Center, where E3 will be held starting June 11, pairs <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dark-souls-2"><em>Dark Souls 2</em></a> with a March 2014 release window. Two separate photos of the sign were posted to the web by <a href="http://www.allgamesbeta.com/2013/06/dark-souls-ii-coming-march-2014-says-e3.html">All Games Beta</a> and Twitter user <a href="https://twitter.com/VaatiVidya/status/341020668810387456/photo/1">VaatiVidya</a>.<br />
<br />
While it seems the writing is on the wall, we've contacted Namco Bandai to confirm the game's March 2014 release window.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/02/dark-souls-2-takes-over-los-angeles-building-coming-march-2014/">Dark Souls 2 takes over Los Angeles building, coming March 2014</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 02 Jun 2013 11:35:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/flipnote-studio-3d/"><em>Flipnote Studio 3D</em></a>, Nintendo's free, three-dimensional animation software for the 3DS, will be available on the North American eShop sometime in "early August," according to the software's newly launched <a href="http://flipnotestudio.nintendo.com/3d/">official English website</a>.<br />
<br />
As is the case with <em>Flipnote Studio 3D</em>'s Japanese counterpart, users will be able to export their animations to one of two networks: Flipnote Gallery: Friends and/or Flipnote Gallery: World. Usage of the Friends network is free and allows the user to share their animations with their 3DS buddies, whereas the World network is a paid service accessed by a global community of users.<br />
<br />
The subscription fee is $0.99 for 30 days of access. Additionally, the app comes with a free 30 trial period, <em>and</em> the World network is freely available every day between 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. local 3DS time. The user can also earn Coin Points and Collector Points by submitting and evaluating Flipnotes, which can lead to free months of playtime if they're awesome enough at either activity.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/01/flipnote-studio-3d-hits-na-eshop-this-august/">Flipnote Studio 3D hits NA eShop this August</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 01 Jun 2013 18:00:00 EST. The release window for Apogee Software and Interceptor Entertainment's revival of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/rise-of-the-triad"><em>Rise of the Triad</em></a> has been narrowed from sometime this year to sometime this summer, it was announced on the game's official blog today. Also unveiled, in addition to the homage cover artwork above, was the fact that <em>RotT</em> will be available simultaneously on Steam, GOG and Green Man Gaming upon launch.<br />
<br />
In order to run it, first-person nostalgia aficionados will need a minimum of two gigs of RAM and either a Radeon HD 3870 or an NVIDIA 8800 GT, plugged into the same motherboard as a 2.4 GHz dual-core processor running Windows XP or newer. For the best experience, double the RAM, bump up to the 64-bit version of Windows 7 and drop in a Radeon HD 6950 or GeForce GTX 560.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/29/rise-of-the-triad-out-this-summer-heres-what-youll-need-to-pl/">Rise of the Triad out this summer, here's what you'll need to play it</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 29 May 2013 21:30:00 EST. Executive Producer Kevin Boyle tells <a href="http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/03/05/the-walking-dead-on-playstation-4-may-get-your-ps3-saves-after-all">IGN</a> that Telltale is looking forward to trying its formula on next-gen platforms.<br /><br />"Season two will read what you did in season one and that will tailor some of the things that happened in season two," Boyle says. "They'll be a lot more social and in-between episode features for season two that definitely exploit what the new platforms have to offer. We're super-excited about PlayStation 4 and what all the other big console manufacturers have in store."<br /><br />There's no word if saves from PS3 games will transfer to the PS4.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/06/the-walking-dead-season-two-peers-through-a-fall-2014-release-wi/">The Walking Dead season two peers through a fall 2014 release window [Update: It was fogged, coming 2013]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 06 Mar 2013 16:30:00 EST. Obviously, we were chuffed to bits when <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/cyberpunk-2077"><em>Cyberpunk 2077</em></a>'s ultra-stylized <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/10/cyberpunk-2077-feels-personally-responsible-in-first-trailer/">teaser trailer</a> gave us a big ol' dose of the latter, but it turns the former was in there as well, waiting to chuff our bits <em>even further</em>.<br /><br />A single frame at the end of the trailer contains a message from developer CD Projekt, which states that the game's release date is "currently scheduled way off in 2015, but in truth the delivery date is more like 'when it's done,'" which was the "date" officially given in the trailer.<br /><br />The missive goes on to say that CD Projekt's "other project," which is also a "fully open-world game with an intense story," is much closer to completion and that further information will be delivered on Tuesday, February 5. Here's hoping said information is contained within a floppy disk buried in a secret location that can only be discovered by dialing into a BBS, whose number can only be found by decoding the hexagon string written in Morse code on a scroll strapped to the leg of a pigeon. <em>But which pigeon?!</em><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/10/cd-projekt-red-talks-tentative-cyberpunk-2077-launch-window-ot/">CD Projekt RED talks tentative Cyberpunk 2077 launch window, 'other project' in secret message</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 10 Jan 2013 22:30:00 EST. When the new year does roll around, the 64GB Surface Pro will cost $899, while its 128GB twin will go for $999.<br /><br />Both versions come with a stylus and otherwise identical internal specifications, although <em>neither</em> SKU includes a Touch/Type Cover, which costs an extra $120/$130 respectively. What your money does net you, however, is a higher-resolution screen than the Surface Pro's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/16/microsofts-surface-for-windows-rt-tablet-is-500-600/">baby sister</a>, a Core i5 processor, Intel HD Graphics 4000 graphics thingy, 4 gigs of RAM and (most importantly) the full version of Windows 8 Pro.<br /><br />Due to its upgraded internal doohickies, the Pro's battery life is expected to be around half of that enjoyed by the Surface RT, which translates to a little over four and one-half hours of doin' stuff, according to our friends at <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/11/29/microsoft-confirms-surface-with-windows-8-pro-pricing-starting/">Engadget</a>. Which, should be plenty of time for the person you're sitting next to on that business flight to ask what kind of iPad you're using.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/30/microsoft-surface-pro-launching-in-january-starting-at-899/">Microsoft Surface Pro launching in January starting at $899</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 30 Nov 2012 12:45:00 EST. At any rate, <em>Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R</em> will be coming to the PlayStation Vita sometime in 2013.<br /><br />Not to be confused with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/guilty-gear-xx-accent-core-plus"><em>Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus</em></a>, which is coming to Japanese PS3 and XBLA sometime this October, <em>Accent Core Plus R</em> is the revised version of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guilty_Gear_XX#.CE.9B_Core_Plus"><em>Accent Core Plus</em></a> will hit Japanese arcades near the end of this month.<br /><br />I played a quick round of <em>Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R</em> while visiting Arc System Works' booth at the Tokyo Game Show and am thrilled to report that the port feels very solid. Framerates were consistent and my old Sol Badguy bread-and-butter combos came off without a hitch. As is the case with Guilty Gear announcements these days, no information was available regarding a North American launch. Time to write another letter, I guess.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/guilty-gear-xx-accent-core-plus-r-vita-tgs-2012/">Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R (Vita, TGS 2012)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/guilty-gear-xx-accent-core-plus-r-vita-tgs-2012/#5302482"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/09/1-1348153355_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/guilty-gear-xx-accent-core-plus-r-vita-tgs-2012/#5302483"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/09/2-1348153363_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/guilty-gear-xx-accent-core-plus-r-vita-tgs-2012/#5302484"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/09/3-1348153365_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/guilty-gear-xx-accent-core-plus-r-vita-tgs-2012/#5302485"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/09/vsslash_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/guilty-gear-xx-accent-core-plus-r-vita-tgs-2012/#5302486"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/09/vs1_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/20/guilty-gear-xx-accent-core-plus-r-coming-to-japanese-vitas-in-20/">Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R coming to Japanese Vitas in 2013</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 20 Sep 2012 17:30:00 EST. As it turns out, the debut trailer for <em>Shin Megami Tensei IV</em> was tucked away inside the 3DS re-release of <em>Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers</em>, which doesn't actually come out in Japan for a couple more days.<br /><br />Things look bleak in <em>SMTIV</em>, what with all the destruction and desolation and chilly-lookin' weather and everything, but gameplay and/or story details remain scarce on account of our inability to speak or read Japanese. Both packs are said to contain four new maps, new unspecified weapons, equally new and equally unspecified vehicles, and "more." While Battlefield Premium subscribers gain access to DLC content two weeks earlier than regular folk, we expect the December and March launch windows to apply to both categories of people, provided the Premium launches aren't near the tail end of either month.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/27/battlefield-3-aftermath-dlc-in-december-end-game-in-march/">Battlefield 3 'Aftermath' DLC in December, 'End Game' in March</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 27 Jul 2012 19:00:00 EST. Judging from these new screenshots below, "traditional" seems like a very apt description - granted, we're intrigued by what appears to be the return of Raccoon Mario, the <em>original</em> flying power up.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/new-super-mario-bros-2-announcement/">New Super Mario Bros. 2 (Announcement)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/new-super-mario-bros-2-announcement/#4977930"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/04/34-2goldenemies_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/new-super-mario-bros-2-announcement/#4977931"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/04/4.2-1goldmario_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/new-super-mario-bros-2-announcement/#4977932"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/04/11-1tailmario_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/new-super-mario-bros-2-announcement/#4977933"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/04/23-3spiderweb_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/21/new-super-mario-bros-2-also-hits-north-america-this-august/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>New Super Mario Bros. 2 also hits North America this August</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/21/new-super-mario-bros-2-also-hits-north-america-this-august/">New Super Mario Bros. 2 also hits North America this August</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 21 Apr 2012 12:00:00 EST. Additionally, a new "Pair Play" mode will allow four players to participate in the same tag battle, ala <em>Mortal Kombat,</em> while the "Fight Lab" training mode has been designed to teach beginners the basics while providing useful practice tools for series veterans.<br /><br />Beyond new modes of play, the console version of <em>Tekken Tag Tournament 2</em> will also launch with over 50 fighters, compared to the 44 available in the arcade version. Here's hoping <a href="http://tekken.wikia.com/wiki/Gon">Gon</a> somehow makes the cut. Apparently that meant "the tail end of summer," as Atlus has specified a slightly more specific August, 2012 window on the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/03/02/persona-4-arena-brawling-to-ps3-this-summer/">PlayStation Blog</a>.<br /><br />When it does launch, the game will include the prerequisite Online mode, as well as a console-only Story mode, which Atlus is attempting to populate with the English voice actors used in <em>Persona 3</em> and <em>Persona 4</em>. In situations where English actors aren't available, we always recommend using Scottish or Welsh actors as a substitute. Their geological proximity to England often gives them a familiarity with local dialects that can be useful when replicating an accent. <br /><br />... 2012 is right around the corner, you guys, and as if global pandemics and earth-shattering astronomical events weren't enough to look forward to, Trion has told Eurogamer that we should all expect an <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/end-of-nations"><em>End of Nations</em></a> as well. <br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/26/trion-worlds-to-bring-syfy-action-mmo-to-consoles/">Originally slated</a> for a 2011 release, Trion's free-to-play meta-MMO/RTS is now set to launch sometime before the end of the world in 2012. This news follows an exhibition of the title at Eurogamer Expo 2011, where Trion also stated that items purchased through microtransactions will be relegated to cosmetic duty, as the title is not "pay to win." <p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/25/end-of-nations-to-end-nations-in-2012/">End of Nations to end nations in 2012</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 25 Sep 2011 11:30:00 EST. Considering PSN releases materialize on Thursdays, our money's on Sept. 3 or Sept. 10 -- but don't quote us on that!<br /><br />In case you're interested, the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/28/capcom-bringing-fate-unlimited-codes-to-us-as-psn-exclusive/">download-only title</a> will run you $29.99. Then again, we bet you aren't that interested. In fact, we're pretty sure you're reading this because you did a Google search for "cartoon porn," in which case, <em>shame on you</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/23/fate-unlimited-codes-coming-to-psn-early-september/">Fate/Unlimited Codes coming to PSN 'early September'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 23 Jul 2009 16:15:00 EST.
