<p> So ... you want more <em>Rocketmen</em> media? Capcom's not giving up on the poorly-reviewed PSN downloadable. It's offering an expansion next week ... and unfortunately, you'll have to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/03/todays-least-wanted-expansion-rocketmen-it-came-from-uranus/#comments">pay for it</a>. For some bizarre reason, some of you really enjoyed <em>Rocketmen</em>. We enjoyed watching this trailer of the <em>It Came From Uranus</em> expansion more than actually playing the game. Maybe because this video actually had more production values (like music) than the original game.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rocketmen-it-came-from-uranus-1/">Rocketmen: It Came From Uranus</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rocketmen-it-came-from-uranus-1/#798302"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/playstation.joystiq.com/media/2008/05/rmu10_bmp_jpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rocketmen-it-came-from-uranus-1/#798301"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/playstation.joystiq.com/media/2008/05/rmu9_bmp_jpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rocketmen-it-came-from-uranus-1/#798300"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/playstation.joystiq.com/media/2008/05/rmu8_bmp_jpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rocketmen-it-came-from-uranus-1/#798299"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/playstation.joystiq.com/media/2008/05/rmu7_bmp_jpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rocketmen-it-came-from-uranus-1/#798298"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/playstation.joystiq.com/media/2008/05/rmu6_bmp_jpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/09/it-came-from-uranus-alright-new-media/">It Came From Uranus, alright (new media)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 09 May 2008 22:00:00 EST. The worst part is that this expansion will cost you 400 Microsoft points on top of the 800 points which are required to spend on <em>Axis of Evil</em>. An amount that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/07/x3f-tv-xbla-in-brief-rocketmen-axis-of-evil/">we doubt</a> most XBLA fanboys would be willing to spend.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/04/rocketmen-expands-and-it-came-from-uranus/">Rocketmen expands and It Came From Uranus</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 04 May 2008 13:30:00 EST. We'd be surprised if any of you reading this enjoyed <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rocketmen"><span style="font-style: italic;">Rocketmen: Axis of Evil</span></a> long enough to suffer through all ten levels, but if you did then you might like to know that the game is getting an expansion pack. That's right, more camera issues, bad animation and boring gameplay are heading your way. And you have to <span style="font-style: italic;">pay </span>for it. <br /><br /><span style="font-style: italic;">Rocketmen: It Came From Uranus</span> (yes, very clever) will be available from the American PSN Store on May 15th and will cost you $4.95. In exchange for that you receive three new levels of gameplay (if you can call it that) and five new weapons; three primary and two secondary. You must have <span style="font-style: italic;">Rocketmen: Axis of Evil</span> in order to play <span style="font-style: italic;">It Came From Uranus</span> and can play the new levels with your old character. As you can probably tell, we're not particularly fond of <span style="font-style: italic;">Rocketmen</span>. You can find out why in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/12/ps3-fanboy-review-rocketmen-axis-of-evil/">our review</a>.<br /><br />[via Press Release]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/03/todays-least-wanted-expansion-rocketmen-it-came-from-uranus/">Today's least wanted expansion: Rocketmen: It Came From Uranus</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 03 May 2008 17:00:00 EST. At one point in <em>Rocketmen: Axis of Evil</em>, the main character sighs, shaking his head, wondering "why do I have to do this?" At that one moment, I drop my controller -- it was then that I felt like the game had starting talking to me. Yes, you're right, game! Why do I have to play you? Why must I struggle through level after level of insipid, uninspired game design? How long will it take for me to finish you, so I can write a review and inform our PS3 Fanboy readers to avoid this at all costs?<br /><br />Paying $10 for a game like <em>Rocketmen</em> is an insult. You're essentially paying for a student project -- however, college professors get paid thousands of dollars to play and critique such amateur work. This is no joke: but at one point, I actually fell asleep while playing the game.<br /><br />There are a number of things <em>Rocketmen</em> does wrong -- impressive, considering how simple the genre of the dual-analog shooter is.<br /><br /><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/12/ps3-fanboy-review-rocketmen-axis-of-evil/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>PS3 Fanboy review: Rocketmen: Axis of Evil</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/12/ps3-fanboy-review-rocketmen-axis-of-evil/">PS3 Fanboy review: Rocketmen: Axis of Evil</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 12 Mar 2008 16:30:00 EST. Despite having one of the more unique names on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/xbla/">Xbox Live Arcade</a>, <span style="font-style: italic;">Rocketmen</span> turns out to be yet another omni-directional shooter. You know, move with the left stick, shoot with the right stick. Rinse, repeat. It does throw a few extra bits into the mix, namely an RPG upgrade system that lets you level up your character and weapons. It's not bad, but it's definitely not great. Also, it's worth noting that the "ending" of trial version could use some work. Worth 800 points? Based solely on the trial version, we say no. Just like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/03/this-wednesday-rocketmen-lands-on-xbla/">XBLA</a>, <span style="font-style: italic;">Rocketmen</span>: <em>Axis of Evil</em> is the only new game offering on <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/03/06/playstation-store-update-25/">PSN this week</a>. Sure, there's the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/29/rock-band-weekly-grateful-dead-six-pack/"><span style="font-style: italic;">Rock Band</span></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/06/guitar-hero-iii-gets-modern-metal-free-dropkick-murphys-tunes-c/"><span style="font-style: italic;">GHIII</span></a> DLC, but its a pretty tame week overall. Now, for those with access to the Japanese PSN it's a different story. Those people should go <a href="http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/03/06/echochrome-now-available-on-japanese-psn/">grab <span style="font-style: italic;">echochrome</span></a> immediately and twist their brains, Escher-style.<br />

<p>Capcom just announced that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rocketmen/"><em>Rocketmen: Axis of Evil </em></a>will be hitting the PS Store on Thursday next week. The game won't cost you an arm or a leg, but it will set you back $10 in "human money."<br /><br />The game, for those who don't know, is an arcade shooter based off <a href="http://www.wizkidsgames.com/rocketmen/">Wizkids'</a> constructible strategy game. Though this <em>Rocketman</em> game stays far away from the meticulous micromanagement of strategy games, it instead trades its old duds for straight up shooting. The game supports up to four player co-op both on and offline, and features customizable characters. Check out the beautiful cel-shaded graphics in the gallery below:<br /><br />
</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/29/rocketmen-axis-of-evil-on-psn-next-week/">Rocketmen: Axis of Evil on PSN next week</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 29 Feb 2008 19:00:00 EST. Eight-directional arcade shoot-em-up <a href="http://www.capcom.com/digital/rocketmen/"><em>Rocketmen: Axis of Evil</em></a> is coming next week to Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Store. In addition to customizable characters and four-player co-op (online and offline), the game will support 1080i visuals, according to a press release.<br /><br /><em>Rocketmen</em> was originally unveiled <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/13/capcom-brings-rocketmen-and-talisman-to-xbla-and-psn/">in April</a> alongside <em>Talisman.</em> The game will come out next Wednesday (Xbox 360) and Thursday (PS3) for 800 MS points / $10. (Important note: We were debating between the current headline and "Rocketmen explode onto XBLA, PSN." In the end, both were deemed equally pun-ful/painful and a coin was tossed.)<br /><br />[Via Press Release]<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rocketmen-axis-of-evil/">Rocketmen: Axis of Evil</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rocketmen-axis-of-evil/#212941"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/04/7_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rocketmen-axis-of-evil/#212940"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/04/17m_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rocketmen-axis-of-evil/#212939"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/04/5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rocketmen-axis-of-evil/#212938"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/04/15_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rocketmen-axis-of-evil/#212937"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/04/14_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/29/rocketmen-blast-off-onto-xbla-psn-next-week/">Rocketmen blast off onto XBLA, PSN next week</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 29 Feb 2008 16:00:00 EST. Capcom also included a few new screenshots (<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rocketmen-axis-of-evil-xbla/">galleried</a> below) and from what we can tell, we're in for some cel-shaded arcade shooter shenanigans. <em>Rocketmen: Axis of Evil</em> will set you back 800 Microsoft points and supports four player co-op locally and over Xbox Live as well as fully customizable character creation. The entire game is being redrawn, from the character select, all the way through to backgrounds and endings, most likely to take advantage of your shiny HDTV.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/13/capcom-brings-rocketmen-and-talisman-to-xbla-and-psn/"><em>Rocketmen: Axis of Evil</em></a> is a intensely action-oriented approach on the <a href="http://www.wizkidsgames.com/rocketmen/">constructible strategy game</a> of the same name. Like <em>Cash Guns Chaos</em>, the game will have players blasting enemies in a colorful, cel-shaded world. For images of the game, check out the gallery at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rocketmen-axis-of-evil/">Joystiq</a>.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/13/capcom-brings-rocketmen-and-talisman-to-xbla-and-psn/"><em>Talisman</em></a> is based off yet another <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talisman_(board_game)">strategy game</a>, but unlike <em>Rocketmen</em>, it'll stay true to its original gameplay. This downloadable title will be a digital recreation of the game, and will be playable offline and on.<br /><br />Finally, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/13/super-puzzle-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix-for-xbla-unveiled/"><em>Puzzle Fighter II HD</em></a> will also be making an appearance on the Network. This lovable puzzle game will also get a glorious high-definition makeover. See a video of the game, after the cut.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/13/capcom-brings-super-street-fighter-ii-rocketmen-and-talisman-to/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Capcom brings Super Street Fighter II and more to PSN</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/13/capcom-brings-super-street-fighter-ii-rocketmen-and-talisman-to/">Capcom brings Super Street Fighter II and more to PSN</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 13 Apr 2007 21:30:00 EST. Like a friendly version of the classic <em>Total Carnage</em>, <em>Rocketmen</em> is deeper than your average <em>Robotron</em>-clone by offering up customizable characters, four player co-operative play and online modes to match. While what we saw was fairly early, the cel-shaded environments are looking fairly slick and the action can get nuts, as you can see in the screenshots below. Capcom currently has it penciled for a Fall release for both XBLA and PSN, though don't hold your breath for cross-connectivity.<br /><br /><em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talisman_(board_game)">Talisman</a></em> is based off a different strategy game, only in this case it'll be sticking to its Games Workshop roots. Revolving around a 3-D representation of the board, <em>Talisman</em> is a translation of the tabletop game that sports one to four players on or offline, 25 characters from the franchise and expansion through downloadable content in the future. It will be seeing a release this winter for XBLA, PSN and PC as well.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rocketmen-axis-of-evil/">Rocketmen: Axis of Evil</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rocketmen-axis-of-evil/#212941"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/04/7_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rocketmen-axis-of-evil/#212940"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/04/17m_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rocketmen-axis-of-evil/#212939"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/04/5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rocketmen-axis-of-evil/#212938"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/04/15_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rocketmen-axis-of-evil/#212937"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/04/14_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></div>
