Everyone's favorite fairy hanger-on (and Balloon Fight remake star) is headed to Europe. Nintendo announced that Freshly Picked: Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland will be released on September 19th. Since they're doing the localization anyway, maybe we can expect a US release for this? We want to visit Rosy Rupeeland too! It's basically a Zelda game. Why wouldn't Nintendo release this worldwide?

Check the link for the full list of upcoming Euro DS releases. We regret to inform you that most of them are not Tingle games.
Europe gets distinctly Tinglier this September originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 21 Jun 2007 16:40:00 EST. Apparently the latest EGM has Tingle listed for a release stateside later this year. However you feel about the tubby fairy, we can probably all agree the game's reception in the US will be interesting.
Tingle freshly picked for the US? originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 07 Feb 2007 18:45:00 EST. So when he gets his very own game, it's only fitting that someone step up with a review to match the man-fairy. Wired's Chris Kohler took up the challenge with his recent impressions of Tingle's Freshly-Picked Rose-Colored Rupee Land -- or is it Freshly-Pickled -- whatever, that Tingle RPG.

The thrust of which is that you, as brightly-colored Tingle, need to collect a veritable peck of rupees in order to climb that stairway to Rupee Land, a heaven filled with good food, good times, and good women.

Yeah, Tingle. With the women.

But all questions of beards aside (though Tingle's is mighty fine), Kohler offers a nice breakdown of the game and a lot of jokes at our sassily dressed hero's expense. But beware of spoilers, as he's pretty blunt about how things go in the first dungeon.

Mogitate Tingle no Barairo Rupee Land is now out in Japan. We wonder if importing it would make the game any more or less strange.
Tingle's weird Wired ride originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 05 Sep 2006 07:57:00 EST. By being the first "second-generation" console available in the country, corporate global sales VP Mitch Koch declared, "[Microsoft is] going to capture 100 percent market share." Did we mention that the Xbox 360 core system is going to retail for 19,990 rupees? That's $440! Ouch.

The plan is to lure consumers with a World Cup tie-in incentive. That is, on June 9, the day the World Cup kicks off, Microsoft will begin offering 10% discounts to those who pre-order the console. According to Microsoft's analysis, India's gaming market is poised to explode. Currently, there are about 1.6 million citizens that spend more than two hours per day gaming.

The initial launch will target India's major cities, but the Xbox 360 will eventually be available throughout the entire country at over 1,200 retail locations.

[Thanks, steve]
Microsoft targets Indian market with steep price tag originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 23 May 2006 13:55:00 EST.
