Capcom said <em>Asura's Wrath</em> will be getting several "substantial" DLC packs, two of which are "anime-inspired" episodes that will provide insight into the main game's story. We think Capcom is being humble here; not only do these particular installments look to be inspired by anime, they're rendered in full-blown, traditional Japanese-cartoon style.<br /><br />We caught wind previously of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/17/asura-takes-his-wrath-out-on-ryu-in-upcoming-dlc/">another DLC installment</a> involving a <em>Street Fighter</em>/<em>Asura's Wrath</em> crossover, and Capcom confirmed players will get to battle Ryu and as-yet unannounced Street Fighter characters, in classic, non-anime 3D. No word yet on release dates or pricing.<br /><br />Check out the "DLC-inspired" screens below:<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/asuras-wrath-2-21-12/">Asura's Wrath (2/21/12)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/asuras-wrath-2-21-12/#4833268"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/02/asuraswrathryuvsakurabmpjpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/asuras-wrath-2-21-12/#4833269"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/02/asuraswrathscreenshot001bmpjpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/asuras-wrath-2-21-12/#4833270"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/02/asuraswrathscreenshot002bmpjpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/asuras-wrath-2-21-12/#4833274"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/02/asuraswrathscreenshot001bmpjpgcopy-1329842146_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/asuras-wrath-2-21-12/#4833275"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/02/asuraswrathscreenshot002bmpjpgcopy-1329842147_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/21/asuras-wrath-dlc-isnt-kidding-about-this-anime-inspired-stuf/">Asura's Wrath DLC isn't kidding about this 'anime-inspired' stuff</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 21 Feb 2012 16:00:00 EST. We realize some people have fantasies and, thanks to the internet, they have <a href="http://www.lmgtfy.com/?q=4chan">an outlet</a>. But some things are so sacred, so <em>untouchable,</em> that they should never be tampered with. We bring this up because <a href="http://www.joystickdivision.com/2010/08/10_weird_unofficial_fighting_g.php">this list</a> of ten crazy, unauthorized fighting game mash-ups created with <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M.U.G.E.N">M.U.G.E.N.</a> is just plain <em>disturbing</em>.<br />
<br />
Never would we have wanted to see Homer and Peter Griffin team up to battle Scorpion and Sub-Zero -- both teams are <a href="http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l193/EgrojGriffin/plagiarismo.jpg">mortal</a> <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sm1zaXTpwGg">enemies</a>! Nor would we have wished to see Wolverine take on Mike Tyson or Ronald McDonald and Colonel Sanders throw down against Ryu and M. Bison. We're all for enemies putting aside their differences and finding friendship, but it's really skewing our sense of right and wrong here, guys!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/24/fight-your-sense-of-right-and-wrong-with-these-10-odd-mash-ups/">Fight your sense of right and wrong with these 10 odd mash-ups</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 24 Aug 2010 03:00:00 EST. Capcom has finally released some in-game shots of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/marvel-vs-capcom-3"><em>Marvel vs Capcom 3</em></a>. The screens are missing HUD elements, but that's fine -- we just wanted to see how the game would "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/20/marvel-vs-capcom-3-fate-of-two-worlds-ps3-xbox-360-spring-2011/">blur the line between 2D and 3D graphics</a>." Frankly, we're surprised it doesn't look more like <em>Super Street Fighter IV</em>. And not a single <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZZUMjoxfZA">curleh mustache</a> in sight? <em>How will the fans react?</em><br />
<br />
Head into our gallery below to check out the new screens, which feature <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/marvel-vs-capcom-3-5-27-2010/full/#3018776">a Ryu vs Wolverine match-up</a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/marvel-vs-capcom-3-5-27-2010/full/#3018779">Iron Man shooting Morrigan <em>in the face</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/marvel-vs-capcom-3-5-27-2010/full/#3018773">a trigger-happy Chris Redfield taking on The Hulk</a>. <br />

And while the trailer seen above features the same two fighters (Ken and Ryu) that the last video did, we certainly don't mind getting another chance to marvel at the uncanny vision of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/street-fighter-iv">Street Fighter IV</a></em> being played competitively on iPhones; it's quite like being drunk in North Korea -- something just doesn't <em>feel</em> right. The trailer also gives a "Coming March 2010" at the end, so it would seem that we don't have too much longer before we'll be able to marvel at the game from the comfort of our own phones.<br />

GamePro has <a href="http://www.gamepro.com/article/news/214131/sf4-iphone-10-with-8-characters">dropped some details</a> on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/15/street-fighter-iv-coming-to-iphone-why-are-you-laughing/">the iPhone version</a> of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/street-fighter-iv"><em>Street Fighter IV</em></a>, which is due out in March. The site has word that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/capcom">Capcom</a> will sell the game for $9.99 on Apple's App Store, and that it will feature a total of eight characters: Ryu, Ken, Guile, Blanka, Chun-Li, Dhalsim, M. Bison and Abel. While it hasn't shared any gameplay impressions yet, it did post a video, which you can see after the break. Surprisingly, the game looks just like <em>Street Fighter IV</em>, with the ultra moves, same colorful art style and other graphical touches from the bigger console versions. <br /> <br /> We're still not sure about playing with the touchscreen "buttons," though -- while they aren't in the way as much as we thought from the original screenshots (most of the fighting takes place in the middle of the screen), not having that tactile feedback could be a problem. Still, the game looks good. No exact release date yet, but like all those people hanging out in the backgrounds of these fights, we'll be watching.<br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-iv-iphone/">Street Fighter IV (iPhone)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-iv-iphone/#2733490"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/02/img0065_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-iv-iphone/#2733491"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/02/img0272_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-iv-iphone/#2733492"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/02/img1262_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-iv-iphone/#2733493"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/02/img1291_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-iv-iphone/#2733494"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/02/img1302_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/22/street-fighter-iv-for-iphone-has-eight-characters-will-cost-9/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>iPhone Street Fighter IV has eight characters, will cost $10</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/22/street-fighter-iv-for-iphone-has-eight-characters-will-cost-9/">iPhone Street Fighter IV has eight characters, will cost $10</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 22 Feb 2010 22:30:00 EST. She may lack the twinkle in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/24/smallvilles-kristin-kreuk-to-play-chun-li-in-new-street-fighter/">Kristin Kreuk's</a> eye, but any lack in feminine wiles are more than made up for in burlap charm. Sony has confirmed <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/30/rumor-street-fighter-costumes-landing-soon-on-littlebigplanet/">earlier rumors</a> that Chun Li and company will be taking their fight to <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/littlebigplanet/">LittleBigPlanet</a> </em>as the platformer's latest adorable costumes. Available Thursday from the PlayStation Store, the set will include Sackitized Street Fighters Ryu, Chun-Li, Guile and Zangief. The outfits will set you back $1.99 each. Or, if you prefer, the whole set can be had by giving your wallet a $5.99 spinning pile driver. Earlier this month, <a href="http://press.capcom.com/release.asp?i=109">Capcom hinted at a "little" surprise</a> they'd be dropping on the PSN during the holiday season, leading many fans to the conclusion that <em>Street Fighter</em>'s iconic brawlers would soon be inhabiting <em>LittleBigPlanet</em>. <a href="http://www.ripten.com/2008/11/28/littlebigplanet-street-fighter-sackboys/">RipTen recently spotted</a> what may be the first images of the suggested costumes on <a href="http://psnow.es/index.php/foro/viewthread/160/">Spanish PlayStation community site PSNow</a> -- including adorable, Sackitized versions of Chun-Li, Guile, Zangief and Ryu.<br /><br />It's unclear where PSNow dug up the images, but they certainly look legitimate. However, you should take time to view the rumored costumes while you still can, as SCEE has asked a number of sites to take the images down. Make of that what you will -- we're fairly certain it has something to do with the indecent nature of Sack-Zangief's exposed Sack-nipples.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3171555">1UP</a><a href="http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3171555" />]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/30/rumor-street-fighter-costumes-landing-soon-on-littlebigplanet/">Rumor: Street Fighter costumes landing soon on LittleBigPlanet</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 30 Nov 2008 21:00:00 EST. Gouken, who is often mistakenly referred to as Sheng Long, will be a computer-controlled character only -- meaning he is not set to be a playable character in the upcoming fighter.<br /><br />Many back stories exist for the fallen master of Ryu and Ken, but we have a few favorites. In one familiar back story, Gouken is challenged by his brother Akuma, who is also the murderer of their master Goutetsu, where Akuma eventually kills his brother in the altercation. Another story, set up as the basis of Ken and Ryu's journey in <em>Street Fighter II</em>, sees Gouken killed by the invading mastermind M. Bison.<br /><br />Capcom promises the character will require a <a href="http://www.capcom-fc.com/sf4/2008/09/post_61.html">special unlock procedure </a>but we think it's safe to say that when Gouken is squaring off against you, he will be one tough hombre to <em>wrassle</em> with.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/26/gouken-added-to-hidden-roster-of-street-fighter-iv/">Gouken added to hidden roster of Street Fighter IV</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 26 Sep 2008 10:30:00 EST. Capcom's <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tatsunoko_vs._Capcom:_Cross_Generation_of_Heroes"><em>Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Cross Generation</em></a> is a title set to release in Japan this year. If the name throws you (or you don't keep up with the Japanese fighting game scene), just know this: it has <em>Capcom vs</em> in the title so it <em>has</em> to be good. It's almost guaranteed to be great, even, with past titles such as <em>Marvel vs Capcom 2 </em>and the near-perfect <em>Capcom vs SNK 2</em> being examples of what to expect in terms of quality here. According to a Japanese website, the game could be coming to Wii.<br /><br />The original rumor was that the title will support a "Wii-compatible board," which might cause some to think it's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/balance-board">Balance Board</a> support. Well, we found that the term describes the circuit board the arcade game uses, meaning that porting the game to the Wii would not be an impossible task.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.nintendic.com/news/2883">Nintendic</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/18/possible-wii-port-for-upcoming-capcom-fighter/">Possible Wii port for upcoming Capcom fighter?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 18 Aug 2008 11:57:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/23/arise-rumor-street-fighter-iv-wii/">Recurring</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/28/street-fighter-iv-wii-port-possible/">rumors</a> have been flying about for some time now concerning the possible release of <em>Street Fighter IV</em> on the Wii. It was never a long shot to hope the port would be made, but producer Yoshinori Ono pretty much summed it up speaking at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/capcom/">Capcom</a>'s Captivate 08: "The fact of the matter is we haven't planned for a Wii version yet." <br /><br />Plans? Since when is this planning thing important for game development? Well, Ryu's totally badass <a href="http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=HQJVKUGmfSc">Shoryuken</a> is always unplanned, and comes out of nowhere when you least expect it. Maybe when the time is right, we'll get a face full of hard-hitting <em>SFIV</em> Wii news. For now ... no plans.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/03/ryu-not-planning-to-punch-you-in-the-face/">Ryu not planning to punch you in the face</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 03 Jun 2008 16:00:00 EST. We're breaking image size conventions to bring you an <a href="http://bordom.net/view/14085/shoryuken_">adorable kitten</a> combat photo, brought to our attention by Joystiq reader <a href="http://www.hairyfishnuts.com/">salvage</a>. A hearty handshake and a pat on the back goes to the soul who can (a) name the game that gives you hearty handshakes and pats on the back and (b) bring us a picture of a kitty hurricane kick.
