It seemed that non-importers would <em>never </em>get to try the long-running strategy RPG series, until NIS America announced plans to localize <em>Sakura Wars V</em> as <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/08/sakura-wars-so-long-my-love-coming-to-wii-ps2/"><em>Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love</em></a> on Wii and PS2.<br /><br />It is the novelty of a <em>Sakura Wars</em> game in America, along with the appeal of a mech game set in an alternate 1920s NYC, that sustained us through this trailer (after the break), despite the voice acting. Don't worry, the game will include both English and Japanese!<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/17/sakura-wars-so-long-my-ears/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Sakura Wars: So Long, My Ears</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/17/sakura-wars-so-long-my-ears/">Sakura Wars: So Long, My Ears</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 17 Sep 2009 14:15:00 EST. Nippon Ichi is finally bringing the <em>Sakura Wars</em> series to the US. The cult anime series will be hitting US audiences as a SRPG destined for Wii and PS2. <em>So Long, My Love</em> promises a unique battle system divided into two parts: ground combat and air combat. In the <em>Sakura Wars</em> universe, it appears mechs don't just fight on the ground. No, they transform into jets that fight in the sky as well! Players will have to keep sharp as they battle enemies on these two vastly different fronts.<br /><br />Developed by Idea Factory, <em>Sakura Wars</em> is scheduled for a US release this Fall.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/08/sakura-wars-so-long-my-love-coming-to-wii-ps2/">Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love coming to Wii, PS2</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 08 May 2009 00:03:00 EST. Anticipating high holiday sales, many publishers made sure to release their games last week, with a total of fifteen ending up in the top thirty (seven of those being DS titles). With this slew of new releases, though, a lot of games were bumped off the chart to make room. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/28/etrian-odyssey-ii-details-and-videos/"><em>Etrian Odyssey II</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/soma-bringer/"><em>Soma Bringer</em></a>, for example, did not survive the onslaught. Yet, somehow <span style="font-style: italic;">Mario Kart DS</span> managed to move <span style="font-style: italic;">up</span> a spot -- that game never ceases to amaze us.<br /><br />The top of the heap was none other than <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/25/pokemon-ranger-batonnage-bidoofs-aplenty/"><em>Pok&eacute;mon Ranger: Batonnage</em></a>, which completely crushed the competition in its debut week. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/19/sim-city-2-almost-as-cute-as-my-sims/"><span style="font-style: italic;">Sim City 2 DS</span></a> did well also, ending up in the number four spot. In fact, this is the best an EA game has ever done in its first week in Japan, with the exception of the <em>FIFA</em> titles. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/18/japanese-adverts-tell-you-why-you-want-time-hollow/"><em>Time Hollow</em> </a>and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/26/super-dodgeball-brawlers-plays-dirty/"><em>Super Dodgeball</em></a> are some other notable new releases, ending up in spots ten and seventeen, respectively.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/28/another-week-in-japan-hardware-and-software-numbers-3-17-3-23/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Another Week in Japan: Hardware and software numbers 3/17-3/23</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/28/another-week-in-japan-hardware-and-software-numbers-3-17-3-23/">Another Week in Japan: Hardware and software numbers 3/17-3/23</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 28 Mar 2008 16:00:00 EST.
