Sure, we have Pearl Pink and some gorgeous limited edition models, but what about that classic Grape, or Atomic Purple?<br /><br />Someone at Nintendo may just share our sentiment, as a listing for a "Midnight Purple" 3DS has been discovered on <a href="http://www.samsclub.com/sams/shop/product.jsp?productId=prod6770042#desc">Sam's Club</a>. The page lists the model just below market value at $168.58, although no other information is given or implied, nor are any pictures available for legit-ness verification. Obviously no official announcement has been made by Nintendo, but we've got our collective ears to the ground and will update with any information that arrises.<br /><br />[Thanks, Andrew!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/28/mysterious-sams-club-listing-for-midnight-purple-3ds-surfaces/">Mysterious Sam's Club listing for 'Midnight Purple' 3DS surfaces</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 28 Apr 2012 16:30:00 EST. Sam's Club currently has <a href="http://www.checkoutblog.com/entries/2008/11/24/we_are_at_it_again____this_is_fun.aspx">two auctions</a> going that might be of interest to <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/gears-of-war-2">Gears of War 2</a></em> fans. First is a copy of the game's limited edition box signed by Epic's <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/mark-rein">Mark Rein</a> and <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/cliff-bleszinski">Cliff Bleszinski</a>. The other is a bust of a Locust drone, which we'd <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/07/finally-we-can-purchase-our-own-severed-locust-heads/">previously reported</a> on as retailing for $<strike>550</strike> $<a href="http://www.projecttriforce.com/index.php?p=product&amp;id=5&amp;parent=3">650</a> -- the current bid is under $50. Both auctions are up for the next seven days. <br /><br />The only catch with the Locust bust is that it will not be sent out until early 2009, so don't expect it to be a holiday gift for any COG you know. Really, though, nothing says, "Welcome to our happy home," like the severed head of a Locust drone in the foyer.<br /><br /><a href="http://auctions.samsclub.com/scripts/ListingInfo.asp?LotNo=79659658">Auction</a> - Signed copy of the game.<br /><a href="http://auctions.samsclub.com/scripts/ListingInfo.asp?LotNo=79659657">Auction</a> - Locust bust.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/24/sams-club-auctions-signed-gears-2-potentially-cheaper-locust/">Sam's Club auctions: Signed Gears 2, potentially cheaper Locust head</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 24 Nov 2008 14:20:00 EST. Following up on a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/29/full-sized-fallout-3-brotherhood-of-steel-statue-up-for-auctio/">previous story</a>, we can now tell you that the bidding on the most virile lawn ornament this side of the Apocalypse ended last night. The Sam's Club auction for a 7'10" (2.38 meter) tall, 121 lb. (54.9 kilo), "<a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/fallout-3">Brotherhood of Steel</a>" statue concluded with a winning bid of $2,507 (which includes free shipping).<br /><br />A part of us is curious as to who bought it, and another wants to see the statue once it arrives in its new home. But then, we start picturing it next to the winner's collection of life-sized <em>Star Wars</em> figures from The Sharper Image and the whole thing just gets creepy.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/12/fallout-3-brotherhood-of-steel-statue-sold-for-2-507/">Fallout 3 'Brotherhood of Steel' statue sold for $2,507</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 12 Nov 2008 10:15:00 EST. [Update: the Black Friday Deals page now says the thing costs $425, and the price has been removed from the image. Thanks, Happy Steve, for pointing this out!]<br /><br />Black Friday is almost upon us -- that shopping riot that takes place the day after Thanksgiving, and which retailers now <em>encourage</em>, despite all the trouble thousands of sleep-deprived, desperate, nervous shoppers can cause. If you have a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/02/sams-club-taunts-shopper-with-wii/">Sam's Club</a> membership, but no Wii, it <em>may</em> be worth your time to brave the crowds for this bundle, because it is very, very cheap.<br /><br />For $224, you get a Wii, three remotes, three Nunchuks, and copies of <em>Wii Sports</em> (obviously), <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/01/wii-fanboy-review-mario-super-sluggers/"><em>Mario Super Sluggers</em></a>, and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/21/new-king-of-clubs-trailer-and-release-date/"><em>King of Clubs</em></a>, the last of which was probably slipped in more to get rid of extra stock than to add value. <br /><br />If you want to try for one of these things, we advise you to a) not get your hopes up, and b) arrive at Sam's well in advance of the 5AM opening hour.<br /><br />[Thanks, Steve!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/12/sams-club-wii-bundle-almost-worth-the-black-friday-fight/">Sam's Club Wii bundle almost worth the Black Friday fight [update]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 12 Nov 2008 10:00:00 EST. A 7'10" (2.38 meter) tall "<a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/fallout-3">Brotherhood of Steel</a>" statue is currently on auction at the <a href="http://auctions.samsclub.com/scripts/ListingInfo.asp?LotNo=79620374">Sam's Club site</a>. The bidding for the 121 lbs. The Wal-Mart/Sam's Club exclusive "Dragon" controller <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/24/mega-350-xbox-360-holiday-bundle-at-sams-club/">we'd previously mentioned</a> is now available on <a href="http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10568386">Walmart.com</a> (and we understand making its way to stores), at a lower price than the previously indicated $60. The wireless controller (pictured above) comes with a black headset for $50 at Wal-Mart and $46.58 at Sam's Club.<br /><br />Not a bad deal when the standard Xbox 360 wireless controller's <a href="http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xbox360wirelesscontroller/default.htm">MSRP is $50</a> and the white headset is $20, although we do see <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001ELJPOQ?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=prey0f&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B001ELJPOQ">Amazon</a> and <a href="http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4196266">Walmart</a> selling the wireless controller for $37. Pricing aside, we really want to know how a disembodied eye and a candlestick phone made it into this design.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2008/10/28/dragon-themed-360-controller-a-walmart-exclusive/">X3F</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/28/xbox-360-wireless-dragon-controller-w-headset-available-now/">Xbox 360 wireless 'Dragon' controller w/ headset available now</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 28 Oct 2008 13:55:00 EST. Microsoft looks to be attacking the casual-core this holiday with its bundle strategy and Sam's Club has found itself in the middle of the fight. Sam's Club is offering an exclusive bundle that includes a 60GB Pro console, <em>LEGO Indiana Jones</em>, <em>Kung Fu Panda</em> and the full version of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Guitar-Hero-3">Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock</a></em> for $349.99. That's right the entire game and guitar included with the standard Xbox 360 Pro bundle currently on store shelves. Sporting the largest packaging a console has ever seen this Xbox 360 bundle is a fantastic value -- sporting an additional $50 asking price on top of the regular $299 price-tag. On the streets we call this a deal. Now, to Sam's Club!<br /><br />[via <a href="http://kotaku.com/5068066/new-360-bundle-is-the-biggest-bundle-of-them-all">Kotaku</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/24/sams-club-bundles-full-guitar-hero-3-with-xbox-360-pro/">Sam's Club bundles full Guitar Hero 3 with Xbox 360 Pro</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 24 Oct 2008 14:45:00 EST. If you're looking to get an Xbox 360 this holiday and aren't concerned about having the latest M-rated games, Sam's Club (<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/wal-mart">Wal-Mart</a>'s warehouse retail chain) has a big ol' bundle available soon. Members will be able to purchase a 60GB Xbox 360, <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/lego-indiana-jones"><span style="font-style: italic;">Lego Indiana Jones</span></a>, <span style="font-style: italic;">Kung Fu Panda</span> and <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/guitar-hero-iii"><span style="font-style: italic;">Guitar Hero III</span></a> (with wireless guitar) for $350. We contacted the company to double check that it wasn't a typo and, sure enough, we were told it was accurate. The bundle should start arriving in November-- there's no specific date for it being in stores, so call ahead.<br /><br />While we're talking Sam's Club, we've also been told all <span style="font-style: italic;">Guitar Hero III</span> bundle prices have been reduced (we've placed details after the break). We were also informed that the store, along with <span id="ctl00_cphDisplay_rptEntries_ctl00_beEntry_lblBody">Wal-Mart, will have a limited edition "dragon" controller (no picture currently available), bundled with a black headset, for $60.</span> We'll keep an eye out for other deals as we approach the holidays.<br /><br /><strong>Update</strong>: Adjusted text for <em>Lego Indy</em> and <em>Kung Fu Panda</em> being offered with the standard system.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/24/mega-350-xbox-360-holiday-bundle-at-sams-club/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Mega $350 Xbox 360 holiday bundle at Sam's Club</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/24/mega-350-xbox-360-holiday-bundle-at-sams-club/">Mega $350 Xbox 360 holiday bundle at Sam's Club</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 24 Oct 2008 12:16:00 EST. Sony's <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/09/26/update-on-psn-cards/">PlayStation Blog</a> announced today that PSN cards will be available at more national retailers beginning in October. The cards will soon be available in $20 and $50 denominations at Wal-Mart, Best Buy and "select Sam's Club outlets." The cards will assist in destroying GPAs when they become available in November at Barnes &amp; Noble College Bookstores.<br /><br />Sony had previously announced that PSN cards are currently available at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/17/psn-cards-now-at-blockbuster-aafes-other-regional-chains/">Blockbuster, AAFES and a few regional retailers</a>. What's the worst thing that could ever happen to you? Okay, scratch that, try not to think about that. What's the worst thing <em>involving video games</em> that could ever happen to you? Well, our worst fear has been realized, thanks to a Sam's Club employee.<br /><br />You see, Sam's Club shopper Shawn recently found himself inside one of the huge warehouses, shopping for that 82-pack of tube socks we assume, when he stumbled upon <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/21/wii-looks-like-it-isnt-the-violence-inciting-gift-of-the-holida/">a Wii</a>, sitting there for sale. What happened when he tried to buy it? Well, he was denied his console, because it was being set aside for a "Grand Re-Opening" for the store. Horrible, right? We think so.<br /><br />Seriously, we would've been <em>screaming</em> at the store manager. But, in the end, it's not like it would've mattered. We would have <em>fought </em>to give the jerk retailer <em>money</em>, so maybe losing that sale was a good thing. Not for Shawn, though. Sorry, buddy.<br /><br /><strong>See also: </strong><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/13/is-best-buy-purposely-holding-their-stock/">Best Buy purposely holding their stock?</a><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/02/sams-club-taunts-shopper-with-wii/">Sam's Club taunts shopper with Wii</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 02 Jun 2008 17:00:00 EST.
