We've reached out to Sony for more information and will update with any official word we receive. In the meantime, we're going to follow the ESRB's lead and see if anything in our fridge is also marked "ale."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/20/esrb-rates-sly-collection-for-vita/">ESRB rates 'Sly Collection' for Vita</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 20 Apr 2013 15:00:00 EST. The listings on <a href="http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sly-Cooper-Thieves-In-Time-PS3/22796253">Walmart</a>, <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Sly-Cooper-Thieves-Time-Playstation-3/dp/B0050SXU3Q/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pdT1_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&amp;colid=2Y8XYJIK9H34S&amp;coliid=I1EH5FC4B084BO">Amazon</a> and <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/ps3/games/sly-cooper-thieves-in-time/91462">GameStop</a> all currently have <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/sly-cooper-thieves-in-time"><em>Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time</em></a> available for pre-order at $40. Not quite a five-finger discount, but certainly better than nothing.<br /><br />Both Amazon and GameStop's pre-orders also include some in-game bonuses, notably new skins for Sly's para glider and a playable Seal Team <a href="http://slycooper.wikia.com/wiki/Murray">Murray</a>. It's also probably worth reiterating that <em>Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time</em> features Cross-Buy, meaning those who pick up the PS3 version get the Vita version for free.<br /><br />[Thanks, Michael!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/15/sly-cooper-thieves-in-time-pre-orders-for-40-includes-bonus/">Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time pre-orders for $40, includes bonus</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 15 Jan 2013 04:00:00 EST. Sony and developer Sanzaru Games, which updated and packaged Sly's PS2 adventures in an HD trilogy collection, have announced that <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/sly-cooper-thieves-in-time"><em>Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time</em></a> will also launch on Vita, day-and-date with the PlayStation 3 version.<br /><br />In addition to being portable and cross-save compatible with the PS3 version, <em>Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time</em> will offer a few augmentations specific to the Vita hardware. When Sly dons an archer's outfit, for instance, his arrows can be steered into their targets - and connect Sly to those areas via a rope bridge - by tilting the Vita. (Sixaxis? What's that?)<br /><br /><em>Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time</em> is due on both PS3 and Vita sometime in Fall 2012. When questioned, a Sanzaru representative told Joystiq that it had not yet been decided whether purchasing one version would grant you complimentary access to the other.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sly-cooper-thieves-in-time-5-18-12/">Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time (5/18/12)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sly-cooper-thieves-in-time-5-18-12/#5032432"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/slycoopertimeenglandvillage06_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sly-cooper-thieves-in-time-5-18-12/#5032433"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/slycoopertimeenglandvillage10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sly-cooper-thieves-in-time-5-18-12/#5032434"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/slycoopertimemechmenace12_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sly-cooper-thieves-in-time-5-18-12/#5032435"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/slycoopertimemechmenaceigc02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sly-cooper-thieves-in-time-5-18-12/#5032436"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/05/slycoopertimemechmenaceigc04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/18/sly-cooper-thieves-in-time-snatches-a-spot-on-vita/">Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time snatches a spot on Vita</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 18 May 2012 04:30:00 EST. With the sticky fingers! A new raccoon-based simulator to help enhance your craft is coming, and you'll want to pay attention. <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Sly-Cooper-Thieves-in-Time/">Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time</a></em> has been given the less ambiguous release window of "this fall" on PlayStation 3.<br /><br />Though the game is developed by Sanzaru Games and not the franchise's creators at Sucker Punch Productions, it's not in unfamiliar hands.<em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/sly-cooper-collection/">Sly Cooper's</a></em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/sly-cooper-collection/"> HD</a> debut, which brought the trio of PS2 originals to the PS3, was developed by Sanzaru, and they did a mighty fine job with it.<br /><br />The fourth installment in Sly's universe gives players control of his family tree, throwing players in multiple locales, including ancient Japan. But wait, you ask as you <a href="http://www.ehow.com/how_6631380_rid-raccoons-japan.html">Google the same information</a> as us, weren't raccoons only introduced to Japan in the 1960s? Clearly the game is not as realistic as we thought. But the animals talk, so that makes it <em>slightly </em>more realistic.<br /><br /><em>Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time</em> also features collectible costumes, granting the bandit bold new powers, as well as a continuation of the franchise's open-world design philosophy, according to the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/03/01/hands-on-with-sly-cooper-thieves-in-time">PlayStation Blog</a>.<br /><br />We sure hope Bentley, the wheelchair-bound turtle, isn't jumping through time for this adventure. We're not sure how accessible ancient temples are.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sly-cooper-thieves-in-time-gamescom-2011-0/">Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time (Gamescom 2011)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sly-cooper-thieves-in-time-gamescom-2011-0/#4371125"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/slycooper18927slyeljefebossbattle01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sly-cooper-thieves-in-time-gamescom-2011-0/#4371126"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/slycooper18928slyeljefebossbattle04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sly-cooper-thieves-in-time-gamescom-2011-0/#4371127"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/slycooper18929slyeljefebossbattle06_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sly-cooper-thieves-in-time-gamescom-2011-0/#4371128"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/08/slycooper18930slytaxishop01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/01/sly-cooper-thieves-in-time-stealing-shelf-space-at-retail-this/">Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time stealing shelf space at retail this fall</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 01 Mar 2012 19:30:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/the-sly-collection/">The Sly Collection</a>, a high-definition bundle of the raccoon's most daring heists, will be available though PSN on November 29. Sanzaru Games president Glen Egan made the announcement deep down in the comments of a <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/11/15/meet-ninja-master-rioichi-cooper-from-sly-cooper-thieves-in-time/">PS Blog post</a> about the upcoming <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/16/sly-cooper-thieves-in-time-adds-rioichi-the-ninja-master-to-the/"><em>Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time</em></a>. The digitally distributed version appears to include everything that was in the retail title, with support for Trophies and stereoscopic 3D.<br />
<br />
Launched as a retail pack last year, the collection can be purchased as a bundle on PSN for $29.99, or as individual games for $9.99 each. The HD collection is currently available on <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Sly-Collection-Playstation-3/dp/B003O680RM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1321459377&amp;sr=8-1">Amazon for $19.99</a>.<br />

By now, your parents have likely sat you down and given you "The Talk." If not, ask them to do that now. We'll wait.<br />
<br />
Okay, all caught up? Reproduction is a part of life, even a part of cartoon life. Sly Cooper had to come from a mommy and daddy, right? Today, the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/11/15/meet-ninja-master-rioichi-cooper-from-sly-cooper-thieves-in-time/">PlayStation Blog</a> revealed one of Sly's ancestors, Rioichi, as a playable character in next year's <em>Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time</em>. He's not the only ancestor you'll gain access to throughout the game, with each episode adding a unique character with their own abilities.<br />
<br />
Riochi is the creator of the Ninja Spire Jump, a key maneuver in Sly's arsenal. He was first introduced in the original <em>Sly Cooper </em>game, having come up with the technique while sneaking into Feudal-era castles.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/16/sly-cooper-thieves-in-time-adds-rioichi-the-ninja-master-to-the/">Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time adds Rioichi the ninja master to the cast</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 16 Nov 2011 08:00:00 EST. We all knew it was coming, we just didn't know when. But as his name infers, Sly Cooper has snuck back out of the shadows for a new game, heading to the PlayStation 3 in 2012 as <em>Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time</em>. Unlike previous Sly games, Sucker Punch will be sitting this one out, with <em>Sly Cooper Collection</em> devs Sanzaru Games taking the helm.<br />
<br />
The <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/14/sly-4-teaser-trailer-unearthed-from-the-sly-collection/">previously teased</a> fourth game in the Sly series got a swanky teaser during Sony's E3 2011 presser, showing off a slinky animal jumping all over the place. We're told he's a lizard named Dmitri, but we get the feeling that the raconteur raccoon will make an appearance at some point.<br />
<br />
<strong>Update:</strong> We've added the E3 trailer after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/06/sly-cooper-thieves-in-time-officially-revealed-coming-2012-to/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time officially revealed, coming 2012 to PS3</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/06/sly-cooper-thieves-in-time-officially-revealed-coming-2012-to/">Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time officially revealed, coming 2012 to PS3</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 06 Jun 2011 21:04:00 EST. The ported rodent caper collection will arrive first in PAL territories other than the UK and Australia on December 1. Its release in Australia will follow on Dec. 2, and then it comes to the UK and Ireland on Dec. 3.<br />
<br />
If that's too long to wait, you could either import it from the US right now -- or, you know, break out your copies of the PS2 versions.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/12/sly-trilogy-gets-its-trilogy-of-pal-release-dates/">Sly Trilogy gets its trilogy of PAL release dates</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 12 Nov 2010 12:20:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/the-sly-collection"><em>The Sly Collection</em></a> will be available for five-finger discount beginning November 9. If you're in the mood to actually <em>pay</em> for the thievius raccoonus bundle, which includes <em>Sly Cooper</em>, <em>Sly 2: Band of Thieves </em>and <em>Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves</em>, that'll cost you $40.<br />
<br />
The bundle will also include four new minigames for use with the PlayStation Move controller (or DualShock controller), each focusing on Sly, Bentley, Murray or Carmelita. According to Glen Egan of Sanzaru Games, which handled the port of the PS2 classics, each minigame captures "an aspect of the character and presents it in a way that's great fun to play."<br />
<br />
Beyond all that, the games are presented in widescreen with stereoscopic threeeeeeeee-deeeeeeee. We would have typed "3D" there, but then it just looks like our keyboard broke. Sony has <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/07/21/the-sly-collection-sneaking-into-retailers-for-39-99/?utm_source=facebook&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=the_sly_collection_072110">priced</a> the upcoming <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/the-sly-collection"><em>The Sly Collection</em></a> at $39.99, identical to the price point given to Sony's previous HD remake release, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/god-of-war-collection">God of War Collection</a></em>.<br />
<br />
As previously reported, the collection features remastered, high-definition versions of all three PS2 <em>Sly Cooper </em>titles, along with 3D support, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/21/sly-cooper-collection-nabs-three-platinum-trophies/">Trophies</a> and a couple of PlayStation Move minigames. Even without all the newfangled technological additions, you're getting three well-received games for $40. That's a pretty good deal. Maybe even a <em>steal</em>.<br />

With an <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/01/a-look-at-ico-and-shadow-of-the-colossus-in-hd/">HD compilation</a> of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ICO"><em>ICO</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Shadow-of-the-Colossus"><em>Shadow of the Colossus</em></a> sadly nowhere to be found at E3, we could still find solace in the fact that three of the PS2's best action-platformers -- the <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Sly-Cooper">Sly Cooper</a> </em>trilogy -- are being "remastered" for release on PS3 as <em>The Sly Collection</em>. Sanzaru Games, which last worked with Sony on the PS2 port of High Impact's <em>Secret Agent Clank</em>, is on the case, providing the thieving raccoon in HD, 3D and even the realm of PlayStation Move.<br />
<br />
Sanzaru started out its work on the trilogy with <em>Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves</em>, a game that was originally designed to be in 3D, but ultimately only shipped with select levels playable while wearing retro red-and-blue glasses. For the E3 demo, one of the game's boss fights was chosen, and had me squaring off against my foe in a bamboo forest. It was a good choice -- the green stalks really helped drive home the sense of depth, and the colorful, crisp HD visuals made it one of the better 3D experiences I've had with Sony's console.<br />

<div align="left">Sony <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/03/16/secret-agent-clank-coming-to-ps2/">has confirmed</a> via the PlayStation Blog that <em>Secret Agent Clank</em> will be sleuthing its way onto the PS2 <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/11/secret-agent-clank-may-karate-chop-ps2/">after all</a>. The port is being handled by Sanzaru Games who you may (but probably won't) know from its Wii and DS game, <em>Ninja Reflex</em>. It looks like the game will stay very faithful to the original PSP version, but with slightly improved graphics (thanks to the "additional power of the PlayStation 2") and an added "lock-strafe camera mode."<br /><br />You'll be able to get your hands on the PS2 version of <em>Secret Agent Clank</em> on May 26. Alternatively, you could save yourself the wait and pick up the PSP version <em>right now</em>. What do you mean you don't have a PSP yet? Valve and Nunchuck Games have tiptoed around caltrops and poison rice balls in order to release Sanzaru Games' "ninja party game" <em>Ninja Reflex</em> over Steam. The game, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/05/wii-ds-ninja-party-game-strikes-from-the-shadows-in-march-2008/">recently released</a> for both the Wii and DS, leverages Valve's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/29/valve-shares-steamworks-toolset-with-pc-development-world/">Steamworks</a> tool set, adding some 50 new achievements not found in the previous versions. Even better, the companies hint at an in-game "basket" of Easter Eggs lifted from the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halflife"><em>Half-Life</em></a> and <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/portal">Portal</a> </em>universe. Whatever that means, we want it. <br /><br />Beyond the added achievements, the appropriately dubbed "Steamworks Edition" also carries an attractive asking price of just <strike>$9.95</strike> $8.95, making the alternative $39.99 Wii and $29.99 DS versions seem laughable by comparison. The game is up on Steam now, and is next on our list of things to get -- right after we finish eating this rice ball.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/22/valve-nunchuck-release-ninja-reflex-over-steam/">Valve, Nunchuck release Ninja Reflex over Steam</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 22 Mar 2008 01:00:00 EST. Nevertheless, the crucial ingredient of <em>ninja </em>means we feel compelled to cover <em>Ninja Reflex</em>, EA's forthcoming selection of ninja-based party games.<br /><br />More information on the once <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/01/ninja-reflex-is-best-ds-game-name-ever/">mysterious</a> title has stealthily found its way to our inboxes, including the news that the game will feature a series of six reflex-honing martial arts challenges. These include such exercises as <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ninja-reflex-1/631333/">hunting koi</a> with your bare hands, taking down <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ninja-reflex-1/631336/">attackers</a> with either shurikens, nunchucks, or a samurai sword, testing your quickness against the flash of a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ninja-reflex-1/631335/">firefly</a>, and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ninja-reflex-1/631339/">catching flies</a> with chopsticks. Right on time, agents from EA have stepped from the shadows to confirm details surrounding the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/28/ea-preparing-ninja-party-game-for-wii-ds/">previously revealed</a> <em>Ninja Reflex</em>, a "ninja party game" for the Wii and DS. The game, which will ship in March 2008, will be co-published by both EA and the appropriately named Nunchuck Games, and is being developed by Sanzaru Games, a new California studio founded earlier this year by seven former Activision devs with an obvious ninja obsession. And who can blame them?<br /><br />While we presume that a Wii-based ninja party game will have us lurking from the rafters and terrorizing the family cat, EA notes that <em>Ninja Reflex</em>'s gameplay will center on performing challenges and testing reaction time " with millisecond precision" as players try to earn the right to wear the coveted black belt. There is also promise of four player multiplayer matches, and while we've grown weary of traditional party games, we imagine there's nothing quite as satisfying as the crunch that comes from leaving your best mates blackened and bloodied as they beg for mercy after being beaten senseless at the business end of your Wii remote.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/05/wii-ds-ninja-party-game-strikes-from-the-shadows-in-march-2008/">Wii, DS ninja party game strikes from the shadows in March 2008</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 05 Dec 2007 12:53:00 EST. <br />Did you know that today is the <a href="http://dayoftheninja.com/index2.html">Annual Day of the Ninja</a>? So if you've been waiting for an excuse to flip out, hit on ninja babes, and assassinate pirates, consider today your excuse.<br /><br />Electronic Arts is celebrating this sacred holiday by revealing new screenshots and details for its newest party game, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ninja-reflex">Ninja Reflex</a></em>. Developed by newcomer studio Sanzaru Games (former <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Activision/">Activision</a> developers), <em>Ninja Reflex</em> will feature "a series of martial arts challenges to test gamers' reflexes and measure their reaction times with millisecond precision." Up to four players will be able to participate, sharpening their skills and speed in this mashup of <em>Brain Age</em> and ninjitsu action.<br /><br />The minigames shown so far are predictable, ranging from catch-a-fly-with-chopsticks contests to shuriken-throwing competitions. Hopefully, the final product will have more interesting activities -- and online support, too! Creep into our gallery under the cover of night and check out some of the screenshots <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/EA/">EA</a> has made available.
