So far, only <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/Animal-Crossing-New-Leaf"><em>Animal Crossing: New Leaf</em></a> and <em>Tomodachi Collection: New Life</em> work with the service - our friends at Engadget attempted to upload a picture taken with the 3DS' camera and were given an error about "incompatible software."<br /><br />No indication from Nintendo that a westernized version of the utility is in the works, but the Japanese tool still works on this side of the globe, provided you can either read Japanese, or have a lot patience and spare time. Folks interested in investigating should point their 3DS browsers to i.nintendo.net. <p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/20/nintendo-debuts-3ds-screenshot-sharing-tool-in-japan/">Nintendo debuts 3DS screenshot sharing tool in Japan</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 20 Apr 2013 21:00:00 EST. As of this writing, developer Chucklefish hauled in $409,907 in its crowdfunding initiative. While the developer opted to use its <a href="http://playstarbound.com/">official site</a> instead of services such as Kickstarter or Indiegogo to host its tiered funding campaign, it still set stretch goals for the project. A new "novakid" race will be included in the game should pre-orders reach $500,000.<br /><br />The game promises an endless number of procedurally-generated planets that encourage exploration from players. <em>Starbound</em>'s site notes that much like a point-and-click adventure game, players can examine and catalog every item on the varying planets. Additionally, <em>Starbound </em>will feature cooperative and competitive multiplayer options.<br /><br />Chucklefish was one of ten developers that earned a free Ouya dev kit in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/21/10-indies-to-receive-free-ouya-dev-kits/">December 2012</a>, though the game's site notes that <em>Starbound</em> only supports Windows, Mac and Linux at this time. Backers will receive a Steam key for the game when it launches sometime in 2013.<br /><br />[Thanks to everyone who sent this in!] <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/starbound-4-14-13/">Starbound (4/14/13)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/starbound-4-14-13/#5811206"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/04/butts_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/starbound-4-14-13/#5811207"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/04/dungeon_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/starbound-4-14-13/#5811208"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/04/evcbf_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/starbound-4-14-13/#5811209"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/04/floranvillage2_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/starbound-4-14-13/#5811210"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/04/floranvillage3_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/14/space-explorer-starbound-reaches-400-000-in-pre-orders/">Space explorer Starbound reaches $400,000 in pre-orders</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 14 Apr 2013 12:00:00 EST. Set to appear in <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/pokemon-x-y">Pokemon X and Y</a></em>, this unnamed creature bears a striking resemblance to the first Pokemon that fans would reserve their lone Master Ball for in <em>Pokemon Red and Blue</em>, Mewtwo.<br /><br />While the developer hasn't revealed whether the unnamed Pokemon will be a new form or evolution of Mewtwo, the Pokemon Company did specifically refer to it as a new creature. Yesterday we learned the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/16/killer-is-dead-stars-an-assassin-with-a-drill-gun-for-a-hand/">juicy bits</a> of <em>Killer is Dead</em>'s story, which stars a mercenary named Mondo Zappa as he travels the world killing bad people.<br /><br />Combat in <em>Killer is Dead</em> is sword-based and close-range, though Zappa has an arm that can transform into a drill, a gun and other items. As seen in the shot above, Zappa's attacks get pretty bloody, especially when he uses one of his more powerful moves, Adrenaline Burst. That's if you don't count having monster neighbors as being out of the ordinary, and not the type that leave bags of garbage on their front porch in 90-degree weather, but <em>actual </em>monsters.<br /><br />The game has Keeta, the boy in the red shirt, wearing a ridiculously large watch that allows him to see the apparitions and befriend them. <em>Ghost Watch</em> is the latest 3DS game from Level-5, though no release date has been announced yet. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ghost-watch-12-30-12/">Ghost Watch (12/30/12)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ghost-watch-12-30-12/#5525860"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/12/ghostwatch01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ghost-watch-12-30-12/#5525861"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/12/ghostwatch02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ghost-watch-12-30-12/#5525862"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/12/ghostwatch03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ghost-watch-12-30-12/#5525863"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/12/ghostwatch04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ghost-watch-12-30-12/#5525864"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/12/ghostwatch05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/30/new-ghost-watch-screens-live-among-us/">New Ghost Watch screens live among us</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 30 Dec 2012 19:30:00 EST. At least, that's what we thought when viewing the announcement trailer during the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/vga-2012">2012 VGAs</a> a few nights ago. That's our mistake, but when you look at these screens from said trailer, can you really blame us?<br /><br />Not much is known about <em>Dark Souls 2</em>, besides From Software's unswerving commitment to making the game incredibly difficult. We can say with certainty that Shy Guys first appeared in <em>Super Mario Bros. 2</em>. <em>Dark Souls 2</em> has the number two in it as well. "Shy Guy" is also two words. The single-player side of the game is obviously an influence, he says, as multiplayer side of the game attempts to enhance the always cinematic world of Kratos with a new character called the Avatar.<br /><br />But then things get a little nuts. "You can look at Allegiance levels," says Papy, referring to the mode's customization choices defined by the four gods Zeus, Hades, Poseidon, and Ares, "and you can look at <em>Diablo</em> and <em>Call of Duty</em> and other games that have skill trees that you basically level up.<br /><br />"And then you can look at <em>Power Stone</em>," says Papy, "as far as that old school melee feel to it." Yes. That's the one. Playing <em>God of War: Ascension</em>'s renamed "Favor of the Gods" mode, and running around with up to eight other players flipping switches, executing combos, and earning favor points does feel a whole lot like the Dreamcast classic. In a strange way, to be honest. But a good one nevertheless.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/god-of-war-ascension-multiplayer/">God of War: Ascension (Multiplayer)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/god-of-war-ascension-multiplayer/#5481722"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/12/gowascensionscreenshotsopenhousempbeta01-1354730447_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/god-of-war-ascension-multiplayer/#5481723"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/12/gowascensionscreenshotsopenhousempbeta02-1354730448_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/god-of-war-ascension-multiplayer/#5481724"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/12/gowascensionscreenshotsopenhousempbeta03-1354730448_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/06/god-of-war-ascension-power-stone-and-paying-allegiance-to-the/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>God of War: Ascension, Power Stone, and paying allegiance to the gods</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/06/god-of-war-ascension-power-stone-and-paying-allegiance-to-the/">God of War: Ascension, Power Stone, and paying allegiance to the gods</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 06 Dec 2012 12:30:00 EST. The art shows an Earth in a future "littered with the ruins of man's Golden Age," according to the materials, with a huge alien ship sitting above the planet. There are also shots of various soldiers and war vehicles, along with a more final logo similar <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/19/new-logo-trademark-lend-credence-to-bungie-destiny-project/">to the one we've seen before</a>.<br /><br />And now Bungie has added to the collection with its own official piece of concept art above. <a href="http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?type=topnews&amp;cid=32235">On the official Bungie blog</a>, the company vaguely confirms the leaks, saying, "Go ahead. Take a peek. It's alright. We weren't quite ready, but we will be soon, and we can't wait to finally show you what we've really been up to."<br /><br />The leaked documents describe <em>Destiny</em> as "fun and accessible to all," and say the property's goal is "to create a universe as deep, tangible and relatable as that of the <em>Star Wars</em> franchise." That leaked contract between Bungie and publisher Activision about the project suggests that this title will involve four games, as many DLC releases, and stretch across the next console generation, so it's possible that this art reveals the very first step in what might be a long journey forward.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/27/bungie-confirms-leak-of-story-info-concept-art-for-destiny/">Bungie confirms leak of story info, concept art for Destiny</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 27 Nov 2012 20:30:00 EST. The images feature three vehicles from the upcoming open-world adventure: a road bicycle, a return of GTA classic sports car "Cheeta," and <em>a damn fighter jet</em> (seen above). Also of note, the Cheeta's license plate has a "San Andreas" wrapper - not a huge surprise <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/03/yes-grand-theft-auto-v-is-set-in-los-santos-and-will-have-multi/">given what we know about <em>GTA5 5</em>'s setting</a>, but neat nonetheless.<br /><br />Not enough to sate your thirst for more <em>GTA 5</em> news? Luckily for us, Telltale has created a new web show, <a href="http://www.telltalegames.com/walkingdead/page1"><em>Playing Dead</em></a>, in which developers and designers talk about the tone and progress of the game, instead of taking that time to actually make it.<br /><br />Don't get us wrong, we love hearing details about a game based on one of our favorite comic series in recent memory, but we won't be responsible for our actions if we don't see a gameplay video soon. We might <em>write letters</em>.<br /><br /><em>Playing Dead</em> launches alongside a new website for Telltale's <em>The Walking Dead</em>, and the first episode is watchable above. In it, lead designers Jake Rodkin and Sean Vanaman discuss the timeline of their<em> Walking Dead</em>, which runs parallel to the beginning of Rick's canonical story, and the authentic approach they're taking to original writer Robert Kirkman's lore.<br /><br />Rodkin and Vanaman reveal that players will interact with established characters such as Glenn and Hershel, and the video offers some in-game screenshots, one featuring a woman that could be Lori. We have provided the screens below for closer inspection.<br /><br />Choices players make, such as saving a character's life, will carry through the month-to-month episodes, Rodkin and Vanaman say, affecting later decisions and gameplay options. Vanaman notes that the game is five episodes, spread over five months.<br /><br />Supplementing all the new <em>Walking Dead</em> info, <em>The Book of Eli</em> writer Gary Whitta <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/garywhitta/status/169826034005450752">announced</a> today that he is working with Telltale on their adaptation.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-walking-dead-playing-dead/">The Walking Dead (Playing Dead)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-walking-dead-playing-dead/#4822787"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/02/walking-dead-lee_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-walking-dead-playing-dead/#4822788"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/02/walking-dead-hershel_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-walking-dead-playing-dead/#4822789"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/02/walking-dead-maybelori_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-walking-dead-playing-dead/#4822801"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/02/walking-dead-door_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-walking-dead-playing-dead/#4822802"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/02/walking-dead-hungry_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/15/the-walking-dead-gets-new-life-with-dev-webseries-playing-dead/">The Walking Dead gets new life with dev webseries, Playing Dead</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 15 Feb 2012 16:00:00 EST. Such is the new preview provided by Game Informer, describing the turn-based steps and tactical placement of a three-person squad assaulting a team of Mutons, told through in-game screens.<br /><br />The piece outs a perk for the sniper, who earns "Damn Good Ground" after grappling to the top of the gas-station canopy, and the "Run &amp; Gun" ability for the Assault soldier, which allows her to run across the diner's roof and still open fire at the end of her turn. Firaxis has yet to release video footage of this fall's XCOM game, but if you scroll really fast through <a href="http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2012/01/26/advanced-tactics-exploring-xcom-39-s-combat-part-1.aspx">these</a> pictures, it's almost like a stop-motion movie. <em>Almost</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/26/xcom-enemy-unknown-shares-its-gas-station-strategy/">XCOM: Enemy Unknown shares its gas-station strategy</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 26 Jan 2012 15:10:00 EST. <br />
Rockstar's PlayStation 3 exclusive, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/agent">Agent</a>, </em>remains a mystery. The game has yet to be shown off by the <em>GTA</em> developer since its <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/02/sony-introduces-rockstars-agent-as-a-ps3-exclusive/">first reveal in 2009</a>, but a concept artist's portfolio, which was recently discovered by GameSpot, seems to show off the game's first visuals.<br />
<br />
Former concept artist Leigh Donoghue outed the images on his personal website, which have since been removed. Donoghue is currently employed as an architecture visualization specialist (a concept artist for <em>reality</em>, if you will), though he presumably drew up the concept art for <em>Agent</em> at Rockstar North during his employment there from April 2005 to November 2009 -- an employment which ended just months after <em>Agent</em>'s E3 reveal that year. We've reached out to Rockstar and Take-Two for comment, but the fact that the images have been removed, not to mention the fact that Donoghue drew concept art for a variety of other Rockstar projects while employed there, lend plenty of credence to their validity.<br />
<br />
Otherwise, the most recent news from Take-Two/Rockstar about <em>Agent</em> is that it's "still in development," alongside the rarely seen <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/max-payne-3"><em>Max Payne 3</em></a>. Perhaps the Agent and Mr. Payne are cavorting around <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/23/first-max-payne-3-screens-look-strangely-familiar/">South America</a> together?<br />

Steam has added a screenshot-sharing feature to its service, detailed <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/news/5047/">over on the official blog</a>. In any Steam game with the Steam overlay running, you can hit a hotkey (default F12) to snap a screenshot, and then save and publish them off to your Steam Community profile, or save them on social networks like Facebook and Twitter.<br />
<br />
Once taken, you can access "Screenshots" under the "View" menu in Steam, and the app even lets you access them directly on your hard drive via a "Show on Disk" button. It's a very groovy way to integrate something that not all games make clear. Now, how long until we can capture video like this?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/24/steam-adds-screenshot-manager-allows-taking-and-sharing-screens/">Steam adds Screenshot Manager, allows taking and sharing screenshots</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 24 Feb 2011 22:00:00 EST. Listen, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/fear-3"><em>FEAR 3</em></a> protagonist Point Man: we know that you're craving Funyuns more than you've ever craved anything in your life. We're sure that, two years ago, you were <em>certain</em> that you'd be spending Christmas morning 2010 deep, deep within the catacombs of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/diablo-3"><em>Diablo 3</em></a>. We still haven't been told the names of the two robots cooperatively making their way through an Aperture Science facility in <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/portal-2"><em>Portal 2</em></a>, but that doesn't matter -- we'll name them Red and Blue. In the screenshots below, released today by Valve, you can see our dashing nonhuman heroes hitting switches, diving into portals and just plain oozing personality.<br />
<br />
In fact, even without seeing them move, we can already tell all sorts of things about how they act together. Red seems a little more timid and reserved, while Blue appears to be a go-getter who gets things done. Then again, look at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/portal-2-pax-2010-co-op/#/2">that swan dive Red's pulling off</a>. That's a thing of beauty right there. Curse you, Valve! One thing solidly confirmed by these shots? <em>Dusters</em>. Hooded dusters, no less!<br />
<br />
And hey, if you ask us, there's a severe underuse of dusters in the world of video games. Unfortunately for the gentleman above, he seems to have been <em>socked in the face</em> several moments before the image was taken, so his duster is fluttering through the air along with his torso. Hopefully you'll fare better <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/01/get-hands-on-with-killzone-3-multiplayer-at-pax/">this weekend at PAX</a>!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/02/killzone-3-screenshots-feature-hoodies-pummeling/">Killzone 3 screenshots feature hoodies, pummeling</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 02 Sep 2010 19:40:00 EST. You guys already know the drill: 5TH Cell has released a new batch of screenshots for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-scribblenauts-gamescom-2010/#/26"><em>Super Scribblenauts</em></a>, one which follows the format of all the developer's previous asset blasts for the series. That is to say: <br />
<br />
<ol>
    <li>There's a lovely, illustrated desktop background, followed by:</li>
    <li>A handful of clever solutions to a few in-game puzzles, which leads into:</li>
    <li>A couple of screens showing the puzzle creation tools, and finally:</li>
    <li><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/super-scribblenauts-gamescom-2010/#/26">A screen</a> showing that, yes, the game is capable of discerning between cerulean, sunlit, cow-like, centaurian, tricolor and cotton elementals. This screen is commonly referred to as "5TH Cell's really just showing off now."</li>
</ol>

Hey -- new <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/deus-ex-human-revolution"><em>Deus Ex: Human Revolution</em></a> screenshots! Don't look yet, though. Let's guess what's in them based on what <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/18/exploring-a-cyber-renaissance-in-deus-ex-human-revolution/">the Art Director said</a> about the game at E3.
<ul>
    <li>Lots of black and gold!</li>
    <li>Heavy <em>Blade Runner</em> influence!</li>
    <li>Someone is probably wearing sunglasses!</li>
    <li>And robots! (Or at least a robot-style arm)</li>
</ul>
Look at that, we were <em>exactly right</em>. Not that these look bad -- mind you. Aside from <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/deus-ex-human-revolution-08-05-10/#/15">this concept piece</a>, they're all in-engine and they all look very impressive (and that's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/deus-ex-human-revolution-08-05-10/#/9">a nice security camera interface</a>, too). But when Jonathan Jacques-Bellet&ecirc;te said he wanted the game to have a distinct style, he wasn't kidding around.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/deus-ex-human-revolution-08-05-10/">Deus Ex: Human Revolution (08/05/10)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/deus-ex-human-revolution-08-05-10/#3239441"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/08/dxhrscreenshotadamapartmentwindow_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/deus-ex-human-revolution-08-05-10/#3239442"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/08/dxhrscreenshotadamapartment_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/deus-ex-human-revolution-08-05-10/#3239443"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/08/dxhrscreenshotadamtakedown1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/deus-ex-human-revolution-08-05-10/#3239444"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/08/dxhrscreenshotadamtakedown2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/deus-ex-human-revolution-08-05-10/#3239445"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/08/dxhrscreenshotalley_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/05/new-deus-ex-human-revolution-screens-look-great-very-gold/">New Deus Ex: Human Revolution screens look great, very gold</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 05 Aug 2010 20:00:00 EST. "The team's work can speak for itself, so we're gonna jump right into the game. We're gonna take you to a weapons manufacturing facility deep behind enemy lines in the Soviet Union. This is WMD."<br />
<br />
After this brief introduction by Treyarch's Mark Lamia at an event in Los Angeles earlier this month, I was treated to a first look at the annualized, even-year <em>Call of Duty</em> production by Treyarch. Amidst all the legal posturing, accusations, departures, hires, and general unpleasantness (<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/@breakup">read all about it</a>), <em>Call of Duty: Black Ops</em> is nearing the end of its two-year development cycle and heading toward a November 9 release date. <br />
<br />
While <em>Black Ops</em> isn't the next "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/modern-warfare/">Modern Warfare</a>" game, it is a <em>modern warfare</em> title. The seemingly short jump from World War II's 1940s setting to the Cold War in the 1960-70s might not sound like much, but it's brought Treyarch's game into the modern era in a big way. The demo starts with a pilot -- decked in full pressure flight suit, appearing more astronaut than aviator -- climbing aboard a massive SR-71 Blackbird, a "strategic reconnaissance aircraft" built in 1964 and a fabled "black" project.<br />

Guerrilla Games recently held a small press event in Amsterdam where the studio finally and officially announced <em>Killzone 3</em>. PlayStation Blog Europe's James Gallagher was in attendance and has <a href="http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2010/05/24/killzone-3-announced-and-playable-in-3d/">reported on</a> a handful of the revelations made during the event. Gallagher has confirmed a few of the features <em>spoiled</em> by forumites who had received subscriber copies of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/21/killzone-3-revealed-in-next-gamepro-and-its-3-d/">GamePro's <em>Killzone 3</em>-centric</a> July issue, which is due out on newsstands June 1.<br />
<br />
Most of the details we heard last week -- for instance, the game will have a 3D mode and feature jetpacks, which seems like one heck of a winning combination to us. You can check out the first several <em>Killzone 3 </em>screens in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/killzone-3/">the gallery</a> below. Rest assured, we'll be seeing a lot more of the game when it's undoubtedly featured during Sony's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/e3-2010">E3 2010</a> press conference next month. The latest batch of screenshots for Square Enix's second stab at MMO-ifying its flagship brand, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/final-fantasy-xiv"><em>Final Fantasy XIV</em></a>, doesn't really focus on the diverse ecology of the world of Eorzea. Rather, it shows off a few of the noteworthy locales in the whimsically named City-State of Limsa Lominsa, one of the three main territories players will take residence in. <br />
<br />
If you're one of those MMO players who likes to stick to the safety of trading and crafting within a massive metropolitan stronghold, you can get an early glimpse at some of your future surroundings in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/final-fantasy-xiv-5-20-10/">the gallery below</a>. For even more details about the alliterative municipality, check out <a href="http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/">the game's official site</a>.<br />

First, Wilson breaks down some tactics in Team Race, your run-of-the-mill us-vs-them race mode, in which teams duke it out on the track. Here, players can swap mods and lend assistance in a variety of ways -- all in an effort to finish the race in the best position possible, thus earning more points than the enemy team.<br />
<br />
The second portion of the trailer focuses on Team Motor Mash, another points-based team mode in which points aren't simply earned through pole position, but rather through the judicious application of power-ups. Players can also earn points by smashing into rival drivers, giving this mode a <em>Destruction Derby</em>-like feel. <br />
<br />
Aside from the new trailer, we've also got some new screens for you to check out in the gallery below. <em>Blur </em>races to the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on May 25.<br />

Games Distillery has released some new details about its upcoming <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/XBLA/">XBLA</a> game, <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/aqua-naval-warfare"><em>Aqua: Naval Warfare</em></a>. Players will take control of one of three different basic ships: the speedboat, the cruiser or the gunship. Each vessel offers its own strengths and weaknesses. The speedboat is agile but low on firepower, while the gunship is slow but powerful. Meanwhile, the cruiser is an "all-rounder" with no outstanding weaknesses or strengths. Each craft can also be upgraded in the game's "Warshops" and via upgrades hidden in the game's levels.<br />
<br />
<em>Aqua</em> also allows players to issue commands to a squadron of four support ships. These ships provide a variety of support abilities including healing, extra firepower and sonar. Check out screens of each vessel and the support ships in the gallery below.<br />

And while we don't tell you about each and every one (there's a handful of trailers <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/Wii">right here</a>, for instance), we do try and point out the ones that are particularly enticing. For instance, today's trailer features the once-again-playable Luigi as he gets in on some Power Star collecting action himself. <br />
<br />
It's not clear whether the other Mr. Mario is playable from the get-go -- in the first <em>Super Mario Galaxy</em>, Luigi only became playable after collecting all 120 stars -- but he will clearly be a character that players can control. See Mario's partner in time don an <em>adorable bee suit</em> in the gallery below and check out the new trailer just above.<br />
