You've never played IGF Pavillion game <em>Super Crate Box?</em> Well then, <a href="http://www.supercratebox.com/?p=downloads&amp;PHPSESSID=jl26vl85fb0evajl9a9t505mh6">let's fix that right now</a> (it's free!).<br />
<br />
Unfortunately, if you weren't at GDC -- or aren't a resident of Winnipeg, Canada -- it's going to be a bit difficult to check out the game's two player co-op mode, housed inside of the wonderful and mysterious <em>Winnitron 1000</em>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/04/seen-gdc-the-winnitron-1000-featuring-super-crate-box/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Seen@GDC: The Winnitron 1000, featuring Super Crate Box</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/04/seen-gdc-the-winnitron-1000-featuring-super-crate-box/">Seen@GDC: The Winnitron 1000, featuring Super Crate Box</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 04 Mar 2011 19:40:00 EST. THQ's literal <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/homefront"><em>Homefront</em></a> marketing machine, the "Korean taco"-peddling Pyongyang Express, has made its <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/17/thq-redeploying-north-korean-bbq-trucks-for-glorious-homefront-p/">scheduled appearance</a> at GDC 2011. Its "Subsidized Good Food for a Better America" is being (orderly) distributed free of charge -- although consuming it is, technically, eating away at <em>freedom</em>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/01/seen-at-gdc-homefront-free-lunch/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Seen@GDC: Homefront's free lunch</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/01/seen-at-gdc-homefront-free-lunch/">Seen@GDC: Homefront's free lunch</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 01 Mar 2011 20:45:00 EST. Some developers are making 3D games that require <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liquid_crystal_shutter_glasses">active shutter glasses</a>. Some are making games that make use of (passive) <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polarized_3D_glasses">polarized glasses</a>. But all of the devs who attend <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/gdc-2011">GDC</a> will have the opportunity to take home these <em>static</em> shutter glasses from the GDC shop, for $7.<br />
<br />
The 3D effect is stunning when looking at actual three-dimensional objects.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/01/seen-at-gdc-the-official-shutter-glasses/">Seen(through)@GDC: The official shutter glasses</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 01 Mar 2011 17:20:00 EST. No doubt someone was attempting to travel back in time to avert the massive damage the Viceroy Hotel received earlier at the hands (wheels?) of a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/11/seen-e3-microsoft-hotel-vs-truck/">vicious truck</a>. Unfortunately, it seems as though the scheme failed: the damage remains.<br /><br />In all seriousness, the car belongs to Ryan McCaffrey of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/25/shadowrun-developer-gets-honest-or-scary/">OXM</a>, who was understandably irked by the ensuing <em>Back to the Future </em>jokes. Before the valet could make off with the car (at which point he would no doubt attempt to reach 88 miles per hour "just to see what happens") we snapped off a shot of the interior. Check it out after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/13/seen-e3-delorean-sans-doc-brown/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Seen@E3: DeLorean sans Doc Brown</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/13/seen-e3-delorean-sans-doc-brown/">Seen@E3: DeLorean sans Doc Brown</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 13 Jul 2007 12:00:00 EST. Although the damage doesn't look that great, it was quite the little scene. While getting ready to see <em>Halo Wars</em> (more on that very soon), there was an extremely loud crashing sound in the Viceroy hotel lobby. Everyone in the room snapped their heads to look outside. Through the glass doors you could see pieces of debris falling from the ceiling and dust. What happened? Turns out a truck was a little too big for the overhang outside the hotel and took a piece out of the building. Good times.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/11/seen-e3-microsoft-hotel-vs-truck/">Seen@E3: Microsoft hotel vs. Truck</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 11 Jul 2007 19:40:00 EST.
