Considering that Atlus has not released specifics regarding how limited of a reprint this is, if limited at all, we recommend erring on the side of caution (and a $35.00 price tag) rather than taking your chances on an uncertain, seller-feedback-oriented future. <p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/11/new-shipment-of-radiant-historia-en-route/">New shipment of Radiant Historia en route</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 11 Feb 2012 16:00:00 EST. Now, we don't want to tell Namco how to do its job, but these shipment numbers tend to be more impressive when you give the game a week or so in stores, so we can more readily infer a connection between <em>shipped</em> copies and <em>sold</em> copies.<br /> <br /> The portion of those 2.5 million earmarked for Europe, for example, just got there <em>today</em>, and it's only been in stores for around two days in North America. All we know based on this is that Namco <em>expects</em> to sell a ton of copies, not that it<em> is</em> selling a ton. Although we're sure it <em>will</em>. <br /> <br /> Maybe that's the idea -- to build excitement about <em>Tekken 6</em> by showing how confident the publisher is. To print up 2.5 million of the things (some of which come in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/22/tekken-6-wireless-sticks-revealed-priced/">totally huge boxes</a>), Namco must really believe it's on to something!<br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tekken-6-gamescom/">Tekken 6 (GamesCom 2009)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tekken-6-gamescom/#2220009"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/2009-08-19_14-16-43_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tekken-6-gamescom/#2220010"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/2009-08-19_14-17-17_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tekken-6-gamescom/#2220011"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/2009-08-19_14-17-21_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tekken-6-gamescom/#2220012"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/2009-08-19_14-17-40_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tekken-6-gamescom/#2220013"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/2009-08-19_14-17-42_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/31/namco-announces-2-5-million-shipped-copies-of-tekken-6/">Namco announces 2.5 million shipped copies of Tekken 6</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 31 Oct 2009 00:00:00 EST. Searching, searching ... dang it all! Where's the Japanese cyberpunk <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/17/the-world-ends-with-you-is-serious-about-shibuya/">Shibuya-themed</a> trendy pop culture action-RPG when you need it? Gamers have been trying to find <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/28/ds-fanboy-review-the-world-ends-with-you/"><em>The World Ends With You</em></a> on store shelves, but a meager shipment + critical acclaim = no game for you.<br /><br />Square Enix has admitted this oversight, and released a statement to Joystiq explaining the lack of units. They felt the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/16/the-world-ends-with-manga-and-ringtones/">unique style</a> of <em>TWEWY</em> was released in just the right place at just the right time. They were right -- but that still doesn't result in John Q DS getting the game! Square has confirmed that the next round of units will be arriving mid-June, so you'll have to twiddle your thumbs for a little longer. Relax - it's not the end of the world.<br /><br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/03/cant-find-the-end-of-the-world/">Can't find the End of the World</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 03 Jun 2008 11:45:00 EST. Really, the site's a lot better when you can care about the screenshots and game announcements. Now, we realize the Wii can be <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/shortage">hard to find</a>, so we understand why some of you haven't been enjoying the site in its fullest.<br /><br />A Wii Fanboy friend just reported that his Target in Edmond, Oklahoma was advertising Wii consoles for sale Tuesday. We don't know how many, or if this applies to all Target stores. But, just in case, wait until Tuesday morning to go buy toothpaste, and check for Wiis while you're there. If you're the type of roguish loner who doesn't need an excuse to go somewhere, <em>just go there Tuesday.</em><br /><br />Anyone else see Wii announcements in their Targets? The <a href="http://weeklyad.target.com/target/default.aspx?action=entryflash&amp;site=weeklyad.target.com">weekly ad</a> has a listing for the Wii, but no indication of whether or not it'll be in stores.<br /><br />[Update: The ad might actually have been referring to <strong>today</strong>, in which case they're all gone! Might as well go check, we suppose. A couple of readers found them in stores today. Thanks to the readers who pointed this out.]<br /><br />[Thanks, Zack!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/27/target-ad-says-wiis-in-stores-tuesday/">Target ad says Wiis in stores today or Tuesday? And we have another chance to use Matthew <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/lesko">Lesko</a>'s enthusiastic face as an indicator of Wii shipment <em>excitement!</em><br /><br />He tells us via <em>secret message </em>that a shipment similar in size to the one two weeks <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/12/rumor-another-stash-of-wiis-coming-to-toys-r-us/">ago</a> will be hitting TRU stores for sale on Sunday. Newly released figures today revealed that the PSP shipped 1.76 million units the holiday period from October to December. While that's certainly not a small amount, it's dwarfed by the incredible performance of the PSP the year before, where the system shipped 6.22 million units.<br /><br />In spite of significantly weakening hardware performance, gamers are still buying games for the system, much to Sony's relief. Software sales were up 24% for this quarter compared to last year, reaching 21.2 million units.<br /><br />Sony CFO, Nobuyuki Oneda commented on the surprising plummet in PSP sales by stating that Sony will not give up on the platform. He noted that Sony is still implementing new ideas for the constantly evolving system. For the sake of PSP fans everywhere, let's hope that they can reinvigorate the public opinion of the system.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://psp.ign.com/articles/759/759618p1.html">IGN</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/01/30/psp-shipments-down-75-sony-refuses-to-give-up/">PSP shipments down 75%; Sony refuses to give up</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 30 Jan 2007 13:38:00 EST. Sony says there is a parts shortage for the Blu-ray disc drive, so production is running behind previous <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/09/06/north-american-japanese-ps3-launch-limited-to-500-000-units/">forecasts</a>.<br /><br />Our <a href="http://www.google.com/search?q=tretton%20site%3Ajoystiq.com">favorite</a> Sony exec, Jack Tretton, chimes in saying, "Sony Playstation 3 is in full production and our target quantities for North America remain unchanged. Sony Playstation 3 will launch on November 17, 2006, in the U.S. with 400,000 units on store shelves. We plan to have more than one million systems in North America by December 31, 2006 and six million units shipped worldwide by March of 2007." <strike>"The honest answer is it's more of a target ... clearly we've had production issues."</strike><br /><br />This news comes on the heels of Sony's statement of financial <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/10/19/games-a-big-part-of-sony-profit-woes/">issues</a> resulting from battery recalls and price cuts of the PS3 console in Japan. Those who made pre-orders shouldn't be impacted, but gamers trying to get the console for the holidays may have an even tougher time than anticipated.<br /><br />[<font color="red">Update</font>: 1) Sony's Kaz Hirai <a href="http://www.gamespot.com/news/6160205.html?tag=latestnews;title;0">told Gamespot</a> yesterday, "</span><strong>All the [production] issues have been ironed out</strong>, now it's just a matter of being able to replicate the process to as many lines as possible -- which is going to help you, obviously, get as many units as possible [emphasis ours]." So what Jack meant was that earlier production issues, which have since been ironed out, may have impeded their abilities to make the initial launch "target." Thanks, <a href="http://www.mini-boss.com/">Miniboss</a>! <br />2) Looks like Bloomberg screwed up the "production issues" quote. According to Sony, "The reference to production issues is to the previously announced delay of shipments in Europe from November 2006 to March 2007."<br />3) We will restate that this has no impact on the 400,000 launch day number.]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/10/20/ps3-may-not-make-year-end-2-million-production-mark/">PS3 may not make year-end 2 million production mark [update 2]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 20 Oct 2006 14:40:00 EST. For example, Sony revealed their quarterly results, and revealed that yes, they <em>finally made money</em>. But, that money certainly didn't come from the games division. Rather, sales of digital cameras, cell phones, and the theatrical release of <em>The DaVinci Code</em> seemed to pour the cash into Sony's pockets. The games division has seen a 29.1 percent drop in sales and operating revenue for this quarter, and the operating losses have increased this quarter to $232.2 million.<br /><br />Sales for PlayStation 2's notably aged hardware and software predictably went down. Unfortunately, it appears that demand for PSP hardware has dropped worldwide, resulting in approximately 3% less shipments this quarter (note that shipments and sales are two different figures). However, shipments for software have nearly doubled, reaching 9.1 million (an increase of 4.2 million).<br /><br />While hardware may have seen a small dip, that software figure shows a still-impressive run for the PSP. It appears that the games division will be making most of its money from the PSP for now, as analysts predict that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/07/24/consumers-attack-sony-takes-2-billion-hp-damage/">PS3 manufacturing costs</a> will cost the company <em>$2 billion</em> within a year.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=10238">Gamasutra</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/07/28/psp-shipments-down-but-software-gaining-momentum/">PSP shipments down, but software gaining momentum</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 28 Jul 2006 13:12:00 EST.
