Each shirt is a winner of the Threadless Loves Minecraft <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/07/design-a-minecraft-shirt-for-threadless-win-a-trip-to-minecon/">design challenge</a>, which offered the three top artists $3,000, a $500 Threadless voucher and a trip to MineCon Paris.<br /><br />Each of the <em>Minecraft </em>shirts has its own brand of charm, such as <em>Love Bomb</em>, which features a lovesick, cartoonish Creeper courting a box of TNT, and <em>Attack of the Giant Creeper!</em>, a retro Hollywood homage. You enter the quiet, overgrown cavern by pushing open the heavy stone door with all your might. Inside, sunlight streams through the broken ceiling, and dust that hasn't been disturbed in hundreds of years lazily floats through the air, shaken up by your entrance. The sunbeams land on the summit of a small set of stairs, where an ornate, red and gold chest sits, teasing and waiting for you to open it.<br />
<br />
You do. As you crack open the ancient treasury, <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VRr9NG7RE0">a small fanfare plays</a>, starting quietly and then opening up into a triumphant series of simple notes, telling you that you have finally done it. The item you pull out of the centuries-old coffer is fine treasure indeed.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.the-king-of-games.com/english/shop/index.php?mode=catalog_list&amp;type=series&amp;series_id=50">It's a shirt</a>, adorned with some kind of legendary logo, a heart container tag, and the number "25" on the back. It's available in five sizes, for a special one-time only printing. Order now, before February 20, 2012, to get it sometime this May. You fold the shirt into your leather pack, and move on through the dungeon -- who knows what fearsome beast you might have to use this on, three different times, to defeat it?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/29/legend-of-zelda-25th-anniversary-shirt-is-a-real-treasure-for-a/">Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary shirt is a real treasure, for a limited time</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 29 Dec 2011 01:15:00 EST. Aksys Games <a href="http://www.aksysgames.com/2011/03/16/japan-benefit-sale/">put stuff on sale</a> last month and donated all the proceeds to earthquake relief for Japan. Now it's offering an even more generous charity initiative: it's selling a limited-edition shirt featuring cute BlazBlue characters and the word "hope," for $20. Not only do all the proceeds from sales go to relief efforts, but Aksys will match that contribution.<br />
<br />
So, for your $20, $40 ends up going to help Japan, and you get an adorable t-shirt. Not bad! Don't think about it too hard -- according to the announcement, " They are limited in number, so if you want one, I suggest you buy one quickly when they go up."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/29/while-supplies-last-blazblue-shirts-for-japan-relief/">While supplies last: BlazBlue shirts for Japan relief</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 29 Apr 2011 17:35:00 EST. "Hey, there's something on your shirt." "Oh, let me brush it off -- did I get it?" "No, it's still there. It's, like ... a fishing game?"<br />
<br />
The first 3,000 Europe residents to register their new <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/3ds">3DS</a> systems with <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/club-nintendo">Club Nintendo</a> this Friday will receive a t-shirt with a picture of the question-mark AR Card on it, allowing them to <em>augment the realities</em> of their own bodies with archery, fishing, and other AR Games. Yes, it sounds funny, but it also means the person wearing the shirt has to hold still and watch someone else (the person with the 3DS cameras pointed at the shirt) have an awesome time.<br />
<br />
Registering a 3DS in Europe will also get you 750 Stars, which puts you well on the way to that <a href="http://www.nintendo.co.uk/NOE/en_GB/club_nintendo/stars_catalogue_5823.html">New<em> Super Mario Bros. Wii </em>sticker set</a> you've been eyeing.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/22/first-3000-european-3ds-registrants-become-walking-ar-cards/">First 3000 European 3DS registrants become walking AR Cards</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 Mar 2011 10:04:00 EST. We can only imagine this pun was the motivation for the scheduling.<br />
<br />
Nintendo also sent out something of wider appeal than this delightful, silly, pun-filled shirt, something in which we can <em>all</em> share: a new trailer, which you can see after the break. <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/dragon-quest-ix">Dragon Quest IX</a> </em>players will notice right away that this remake looks <em>different</em>, with a <em>huge</em> avatar on the world map and 2D enemy sprites in battle.<br type="_moz" /><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/04/dragon-quest-vi-shows-its-love-with-a-trailer/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Dragon Quest VI shows its love with a trailer</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/04/dragon-quest-vi-shows-its-love-with-a-trailer/">Dragon Quest VI shows its love with a trailer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 04 Feb 2011 10:30:00 EST. To celebrate the US launch, Hideo Kojima himself will appear at the Flagship UNIQLO store in New York City on that day to sign autographs. In addition, prizes including artbooks and PSP bundles will be given away. <br />

The best part: for the millions of us who don't live anywhere near a UNIQLO store, the shirts will also be available <a href="http://www.uniqlo.com/us/">online</a>. Each one will include a code for the same shirt in-game. You can put a picture of Snake on Snake so you can sneak while you sneak. Now, thanks to retailer UNIQLO, you can wear a <em>Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker</em> shirt in real life. Whether or not you wear Axe is your call. On April 26, UNIQLO will roll out a line of <em>Peace Walker</em> shirts featuring various logos and imagery from the series, Militaires Sans Frontieres patches, Yoji Shinkawa artwork ... and two suit-wearing gentlemen with cardboard boxes on their heads. <br />
<br />
That last one is, appropriately, a multiplayer riff on one of the designs from UNIQLO's <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/13/metal-gear-solid-4-t-shirts-also-available-in-uk/">Metal Gear Solid 4</a></em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/13/metal-gear-solid-4-t-shirts-also-available-in-uk/"> line</a>. If you'd like to tell Hideo Kojima how clever that is, <a href="http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=242438">CVG</a> reports that he and Shinkawa will be at the London "flagship" UNIQLO on June 19 signing autographs.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/12/peace-walk-into-uniqlo-for-new-metal-gear-solid-shirts/">Peace Walk into UNIQLO for new Metal Gear Solid shirts</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 12 Apr 2010 19:15:00 EST. The publisher has printed up some replica shirts as worn by AiAi, complete with printed backpack, as a promotional item for <em>Step &amp; Roll</em>.<br />
<br />
The only known way to get hold of one of these delightful items is through Sega's Free Stuff Friday contest (follow <a href="http://twitter.com/sega">@sega</a> on Twitter and message back key phrases at the right time on Fridays). No puzzles were required to get into this treasure chest, however. <br />
<br />
Along with the treasure chest, Nintendo sent a Link t-shirt. In a separate mailing, the company sent another wooden gewgaw: a train whistle, just like the one you got from any museum gift shop ever. In a truly superhuman display of discipline, we've managed to leave the whistle <em>untooted </em>so future Joyswag winners won't be subject to blogger cooties.<br />

We'll get through this quickly so we can hurry along to the <em>important stuff</em> -- <a href="http://www.1up.com/do/feature?pager.offset=0&amp;cId=3175544">a recent 1UP interview</a> with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/uncharted-2"><em>Uncharted 2: Among Thieves</em></a> creative director Amy Hennig and Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells is rife with details about the highly anticipated sequel. They touch on a lot of aspects of the game that'll really resonate with series fans -- things like the ramifications of mercenary murder, whether the player will be able to choose between Drake's two female accomplices, and the actual length of the sequel (spoiler alert: It's going to be bigger than the first game).<br /><br />However, the savoriest meats in the interview come at the end, when the two <em>finally</em> start discussing the degree of tucked-innedness that is applied to Nathan Drake's shirt. <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/2008/01/23/tim-schafer-muses-on-the-wonders-of-uncharteds-half-tuck/">Tim Schafer was the first to notice</a> this phenomenon in the first game, coining the phrase "half-tuck." Now it seems the folks at Naughty Dog are kicking it up to <em>notches unknown</em>. Get this -- front of the shirt? Almost fully tucked in. Back of the shirt? Half-tucked. Put it all together? <em>Three-quarters-tucked</em>. Oh yeah -- this baby's got "Game of the Year" written all over it.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/13/uncharted-2-to-dwarf-original-nate-drakes-shirt-will-be-more-t/">Uncharted 2 to dwarf original, Nate Drake's shirt will be more tucked in</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 13 Aug 2009 14:30:00 EST. The shirts look nice enough when worn normally: a "let your darkside out" slogan adorns the front amid zombie silhouettes, and the game's logo occupies the back. <br /><br />But the <em>inside</em> of each shirt has a special graphic printed upside-down, so that when you flip the shirt over your head, you <em>become</em> a zombie. This is the most amazing advance in swag technology we've seen in years. If you want one (and you <em>do</em>, because <em>wow</em>), you'll have to visit Capcom's special <em>Darkside Chronicles</em> demo area at Comic-Con and try out the co-op mode.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/resident-evil-the-darkside-chronicles-wii/">Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles (Wii)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/resident-evil-the-darkside-chronicles-wii/#2127180"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/07/2009-07-01_23-44-14-9_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/resident-evil-the-darkside-chronicles-wii/#2127179"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/07/2009-07-03_21-01-08_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/resident-evil-the-darkside-chronicles-wii/#2127178"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/07/2009-07-03_10-44-10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/resident-evil-the-darkside-chronicles-wii/#2127177"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/07/2009-07-01_23-44-16_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/resident-evil-the-darkside-chronicles-wii/#2127176"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/07/2009-07-01_23-44-14-8_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/15/become-a-shirt-zombie-with-this-resident-evil-the-darkside-chro/">Become a Shirt Zombie with this Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles shirt</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 15 Jul 2009 11:25:00 EST. Yesterday, we learned that it would include a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/24/metroid-prime-trilogy-packaging-cooler-than-a-chozo-suit/">lovely tin and an artbook</a>, and now <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=74982">GameStop</a> has just revealed that copies pre-ordered from the retailer will <em>also</em> come with a free t-shirt! It also comes with <em>video games</em>!<br /><br />In our opinion, the shirt looks pretty great (we're assuming it's not all dithered in real life like it is in the picture), even with the logo on the side, and even with the added baggage of identifying you as a GameStop shopper. The offer is valid for both in-store and online pre-orders. <br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metroid-prime-trilogy-box/">Metroid Prime Trilogy box</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metroid-prime-trilogy-box/#2105167"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/mptrilogyfrontmetal_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metroid-prime-trilogy-box/#2105166"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/mptrilogyfront2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metroid-prime-trilogy-box/#2105164"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/mptrilogybackmetal_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metroid-prime-trilogy-box/#2105163"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/mptrilogyback2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metroid-prime-trilogy-box/#2105160"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/mptrilogybonus_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/25/pre-order-metroid-prime-trilogy-at-gamestop-get-surprisingly-ni/">Pre-order Metroid Prime Trilogy at GameStop, get surprisingly nice t-shirt</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 25 Jun 2009 19:15:00 EST. Your wardrobe could use a bit more gamer chic. One of Japan's more popular clothing brands is introducing a new line of t-shirts in collaboration with a number of gaming companies. The store is offering tees based on <em>Sonic the Hedgehog</em>, <em>Mega-Man</em>, <em>PaRappa the Rapper</em>, <em>LittleBigPlanet</em>, <em>Resident Evil</em> and more. The shirts retail for 1500 yen (about $15) each.<br /><br />The designs are simple, often featuring very subtle references to these gaming franchises . This way, you can make a nerdy statement without actually having to <em>look like one</em>.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.offworld.com/2009/04/uniqlo-games-tees-the-rest.html">Offworld</a>]<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ut-japan-game/">UT Japan>Game</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ut-japan-game/#1505433"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/04/09_057519_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ut-japan-game/#1505432"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/04/09_057435_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ut-japan-game/#1505431"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/04/09_057189_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ut-japan-game/#1505430"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/04/09_056069_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ut-japan-game/#1505429"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/04/09_056065_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/20/uniqlo-launches-new-line-of-gamer-tees/">Uniqlo launches new line of gamer tees</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 20 Apr 2009 20:45:00 EST. Other than the murderous look that comes from spending too much time in Dr. Wily's Castle, we think that the official <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/23/wii-fanboy-review-mega-man-9/"><em>Mega Man 9</em></a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/22/capcom-to-create-mega-shirts-out-of-mega-man-9-boxart/">t-shirt</a> is the most effective method of sharing your pain.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Capcom/">Capcom</a>'s online store is now taking preorders for the black shirt featuring the American <em>Mega Man 9</em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/17/e308-glorious-mega-man-9-boxart/">"boxart"</a> for shipping on September 30. It costs $24.95 plus shipping, which is actually quite a bit more than the game costs -- but it's entirely worth it when you consider that the "proprietary MegaWeave[TM] technology provides improved gaming performance in<em> Mega Man(R) 9</em> and all other Capcom titles." Sorry, Roll's Item Shop shoppers -- Capcom doesn't accept screws!<br /><br />[Minor update: it appears that leaving an item in your cart and then backing out with your browser's 'back' button triggers a survey pop-up that, when completed, nets you 10% off your purchase!]<br /><br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/25/display-your-failure-proudly-mega-man-9-shirt-now-available-for/">Display your failure proudly: Mega Man 9 shirt now available for purchase</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 25 Sep 2008 14:27:00 EST. Another benefit to being one of the lucky few to attend the Square Enix <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/11/square-enix-to-demo-new-games-at-awkwardly-named-event/">DK&Sigma;3713</a> event, besides getting to play new games and see trailers and be surrounded by journalists (<em>what do you mean</em> that's no benefit?) is that awesome exclusive merchandise is available for purchase.<br /><br />Seen above: two strangely fashion-<em>backward</em> shirts for the very fashionable <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/17/the-sale-ends-with-you/">The World Ends with You</a>.</em> They feature the date of the event and the <em>TWEWY </em>skull logo on the back, and an assertion that "I PARTICIPATE IN THIS GAME" on the front. We must admit that we're charmed by the boldness of the shirt. Sometimes you want to wear art, and sometimes you just want to be a huge nerd.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://gonintendo.com/?p=51371">GoNintendo</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/03/the-world-ends-with-apparel/">The World Ends with Apparel</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 03 Aug 2008 14:00:00 EST. Japan's premier Nintendo-related t-shirt company, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/04/nights-into-t-shirts/">The King of Games</a>, has turned their attention to a <em>recent</em> game, a change from their usual (justified) Famicom-era subject matter. The results, as always, are expensive. And worth it.<br /><br />The company has started selling two new <a href="http://blog.wired.com/games/2008/07/video-making-a.html">handmade</a> shirts based on <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/09/the-hidden-emotional-depths-of-super-mario-galaxy/">Super Mario Galaxy</a>: </em>the "Peach Castle" shirt seen above and a second, <em>excellent</em> shirt featuring Bowser Jr.'s airship, which we're pretty sure is the best thing ever to feature Bowser Jr. The shirts sell for ?5,800 ($54) in adult sizes, and ?3,990 ($37) in totally cute "The King of Games Jr." kids' sizes.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.inside-games.jp/news/304/30428.html">Inside-Games</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/25/the-king-of-super-mario-galaxy-shirts/">The King of Super Mario Galaxy Shirts</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 25 Jul 2008 21:30:00 EST. Of course you do, how could you ever forget its magnificent image? Apparently, I Am 8-bit artist <a href="http://www.geralddejesus.com/home.html">Gerald de Jesus</a> was commissioned for the homage to Mega Man's packaging designs of yore.<br /><br />The shirts were originally created exclusively for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Capcom">Capcom's</a> staff, including director Hironobu Takeshita and producer Keiji Inafune, with a limited run of <span style="font-style: italic;">four</span>. But after seeing fan reactions to the astounding apparel, the publisher has decided to make t-shirts with the <em>Mega Man 9</em> cover art "available for purchase soon" in the States. Oh, wondrous day!<br /><br />Let's all hope Capcom decides to make a lot more than just four shirts this time!<br /><br /><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/22/capcom-to-create-mega-shirts-out-of-mega-man-9-boxart/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Capcom to create mega shirts out of Mega Man 9 boxart</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/22/capcom-to-create-mega-shirts-out-of-mega-man-9-boxart/">Capcom to create mega shirts out of Mega Man 9 boxart</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 Jul 2008 22:00:00 EST. <br />Ultrasound graphics synthesis! 8-bit fidelity engine!<br /><br />We have always been of the opinion that even downloadable games should have <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/boxart/">boxart</a>. Capcom agreed, putting together this mix of the original <em>Mega Man</em> game's North American packaging and <em>Mega Man 2's</em> PAL cover. The resulting <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mega-man-9">Mega Man 9</a></em> art showed up at the publisher's E3 booth on what looked like an iron-on transfer shirt.<br /><br />Unfortunately, only a few of the shirts were made for internal staff, and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Capcom/">Capcom</a> doesn't intend to give any away. At least we have this photo (taken by 1UP's Jeremy Parish)! Check out that huge M on his belt! <br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/17/e308-glorious-mega-man-9-boxart/">E308: Glorious Mega Man 9 boxart</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 17 Jul 2008 16:15:00 EST. For everything leading up to the DS, this shirt displays all of Nintendo's hardware we've known and loved. It's really only missing the DS and Wiimote, but for us nerds who just love Nintendo more than breathing (we pretend it's a game Nintendo invented when we were born and we're maintaining the high score), the above shirt might be the best piece of clothing ever. If we owned <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/05/show-and-tell-etch-a-lite/">this DS Lite</a> and the shirt, we'd feel like we lived a meaningful and good life.<br /><br />The problem is that it's only available in Large, meaning that bigger and smaller folks will have a tough time making the shirt work.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.gamesniped.com/2008/06/26/ultima-online-beta-dreamcast-trial-set-sealed-quadrun-crazy-famicom-pirates/">Gamesniped</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/26/awesome-controller-shirt-chronicles-nintendos-hardware/">Awesome controller shirt chronicles Nintendo's hardware</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 26 Jun 2008 18:00:00 EST. Here's something unexpected: a line of <a href="http://dsfanboy.com/tag/pokemon"><em>Pok&eacute;mon</em></a> clothing that we wouldn't mind <em>letting ourselves show people!</em> The adult-focused "<em>Pok&eacute;mon </em>151" series of T-shirts presents selected Pokemans from the <em>Red/Blue</em> era in bold, artsy, <a href="http://www.the-king-of-games.com/">The King of Games</a>-style designs.<br /><br />Four shirt designs, featuring <a href="http://serebii.net/pokedex/097.shtml">Hypno</a>, <a href="http://serebii.net/pokedex/150.shtml">Mewtwo</a>, <a href="http://serebii.net/pokedex/144.shtml">Articuno</a>, and <a href="http://serebii.net/pokedex/104.shtml">Cubone</a>, are now on sale in Japanese <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/pokemon-center">Pok&eacute;mon Center</a> locations. The official website for the line will open on the 26th. In the meantime, we're left battling the bizarre feeling that we might ... like a shirt with Hypno on it. Another picture, showing partial images of all four designs, follows the break.<br /><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/24/be-the-most-stylish-person-at-the-pokemon-tournament-not-just-t/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Be the most stylish person at the Pokemon tournament, not just the oldest</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/24/be-the-most-stylish-person-at-the-pokemon-tournament-not-just-t/">Be the most stylish person at the Pokemon tournament, not just the oldest</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 24 Jun 2008 09:30:00 EST. It turns out that staring at red-on-black images isn't so bad when you <em>don't have to cram your face into a machine</em> to do so. This shirt, created for German Virtual Boy fansite <a href="http://www.vr32.de/">vr32.de</a>, <em>almost</em> makes the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/26/become-a-virtual-collector/">Virtual Boy'</a>s reviled display palette appear ... artistic. As if Nintendo limited the display of the system because it would <em>look cool</em>, and not for technological reasons. It looks great on a shirt, anyway.<br /><br />It features a Virtual-Boy-as-octopus design on the front and Planet Virtual Boy branding on the back. We doubt that many were made, but for the moment they're available for 17 Euros plus shipping (which would probably be a lot!) by contacting Planet Virtual Boy's DrAetzn.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.nintendo-online.de/news.php?id=1608">Nintendo-Online</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/05/virtual-boy-looks-cool-for-the-first-time-ever/">Virtual Boy looks cool for the first time ever</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 05 May 2008 16:00:00 EST. The excellent, and <em>affordable,</em> line of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/09/japanese-retailer-uniqlo-celebrates-sega/">Sega shirts</a> from Japanese retailer UNIQLO are now available for purchase via the company's website. Sure, they only deliver within the United Kingdom, but that's a <em>big</em> step closer to, say, <em>Texas, </em>just to name a <em>random</em> location where someone might want to buy a shirt with the <em>House of the Dead 4</em> logo on it.<br /><br />Besides, we're mature enough to let our UK friends know about things they may enjoy, even if it doesn't benefit us in the least. Or if, among us, it just benefits <em><a href="http://nintendowiifanboy.com/bloggers/chris-greenhough">Chris</a>,</em> as is the case this time. The <a href="http://store.uniqlo.com/jp/store/feature/ut/sega/">Japanese shirts</a>, by the way, come in Sonic-emblazoned bottles -- no idea if UNIQLO is doing the same in the UK.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/02/sega-uniqlo-shirts-available-online-to-uk-residents/">Sega UNIQLO shirts available online to UK residents</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 02 May 2008 18:00:00 EST. Even though it's been far too long since we've seen the classic Blue Bomber in action, Capcom knows how much gamers love the little fella. That's why they're selling this simple but delightful Mega Man shirt at <a href="http://shop.capcom.com/DRHM/servlet/ControllerServlet?Action=DisplayProductDetailsPage&amp;SiteID=capcomus&amp;Locale=en_US&amp;Env=BASE&amp;productID=103977600">their online store</a>.<br /><br />This fabricized ode to the lovable robot will set you back $18 (not including Capcom's usually exorbitant shipping prices), but can you really put a price on nostalgia? Unfortunately, though, the website won't let you buy the shirt at present. Perhaps it's already sold out?<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://blog.capcom.com/archives/1176">Capcom's Blog</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/01/capcom-offers-mega-mega-man-shirt/">Capcom offers mega Mega Man shirt</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 01 May 2008 18:00:00 EST. <br />Publishers in South Korea are pulling out all the stops to make sure gamers pick up their launch titles when the Wii <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/14/wii-hits-south-korea-on-april-26/">officially debuts</a> in the country on April 26. Though these aren't as glamorous (or as scandalous) as the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/16/capcom-gives-koreans-pearl-necklaces-and-mousepads/"><em>Zack &amp; Wiki</em> pearl necklaces</a>, Tecmo is giving away free shirts featuring characters Kooh and Arin with preorders for <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/super-swing-golf">Swing Golf Pangya 2nd Shot</a></em>.<br /><br />Interestingly, the golf title will be released in Korea four months after the game arrived in the states, despite being a console spin-off of a Korean MMO. At least they'll get free shirts to make up for the delay! And they're still getting it before Europe (July 4th)!<br /><br />[Thanks, Nick!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/19/golf-with-style-in-korea/">Golf With Style! The King of Games' "Get Ready" <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/16/get-ready-for-amazing-sega-shirts/">shirts</a>, like <a href="http://www.the-king-of-games.com/english/shop/index.php">all of their shirts</a>, are mindblowingly awesome. The designs are attractive and interesting -- much more so than most gaming shirts. To us, they look a lot cooler than most <em>non</em>-gaming-related shirts. The new shirts from <a href="http://meatbun.us/blog/">Meatbun</a> are similarly spectacular and arty, while also being undeniably <em>about</em> <em>video games.</em><br /><br />Our discussion question comes in two parts: first, is it worth the premium "fashion" prices to get awesome, fashionable gaming shirts? Second, <em>can</em> a video game shirt be cool? We don't mind being visibly nerdy to an extent (though we have a rigorous Shirt Nerdiness Rubric), but then we don't really have to leave the house that often.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/18/wii-warm-up-get-ready-to-talk-t-shirts/">Wii Warm Up: Get Ready to talk t-shirts</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 18 Apr 2008 09:00:00 EST. We've been drooling over the pictures of The King of Games' "Get Ready" line of t-shirts since <a href="http://www.geekonstun.com/mt/archives/its_a_sega_christmas_miracle_122506.html">2006</a><em>.</em> Now we might have the chance to drool over an actual shirt! The company has announced that they're now selling the <em>gorgeous</em> t-shirts, featuring designs celebrating iconic Sega classics <em>After Burner</em>, <em>OutRun</em>, and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/14/vc-monday-madness-video-wrap-up-4-14-08/"><em>Fantasy Zone</em></a>, worldwide.<br /><br />Unfortunately, shirts of this <em>mindblowing</em> quality come at a premium. KOG is selling the <em>Fantasy Zone </em>and <em>OutRun</em> shirts for 5040 yen ($50) each, and the <em>After Burner</em> design for 5775 yen ($57). <br /><br />On an unrelated note, would anyone like to donate to the "Buy JC a <em>Fantasy Zone </em>shirt" fund? Don't mind the name -- the money goes to feed orphans or something.<br /><br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/16/get-ready-for-amazing-sega-shirts/">Get Ready for amazing Sega shirts</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 16 Apr 2008 19:00:00 EST. There are many reasons to desire a shirt emblazoned with the countenance of Sega's spiky, azure mascot -- perhaps as a celebratory measure following the formal announcement of Sonic's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/sonic-unleashed/">upcoming 2D/3D adventure, <span style="font-style: italic;">Sonic Unleashed</span></a>. Maybe you want to want to make <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7vu8avv9kc">your own personal Jaleelitude</a> known to the world. Or just maybe, you want to warn could-be attackers that <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGVl-Hc2jE0">you've seen the Sonic PSAs</a>, and that you know how to protect your bathing suit area from uncomfortable touches.<br />
<br />
Such a shirt exists, as do a number of other garments featuring characters from other Sega mainstays (such as Virtua Fighter and House of the Dead) <a href="http://store.uniqlo.com/jp/store/feature/ut/sega/">from a Japanese clothier named UNIQLO</a> -- unfortunately, said tees are only available in Japan. However, as our <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/04/09/japanese-retailer-uniqlo-celebrates-sega/">controller-waggling brethren at Wii Fanboy discovered</a>, UNIQLO has stores in the UK and in New York -- so at least we can hope for a timely port.<br />

As part of a "unique" t-shirt line, Japanese clothing retailer <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UNIQLO">UNIQLO</a> has unveiled a series of t-shirts celebrating three of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Sega/">Sega</a>'s iconic series: <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/sonic">Sonic the Hedgehog</a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/28/house-of-the-dead-3-alive-with-new-content/">The House of the Dead</a> </em>and <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/28/house-of-the-dead-3-alive-with-new-content/">Virtua Fighter</a>.</em> The shirts feature simple, iconic designs (like Sonic's face, seen here, or individual <em>VF </em>characters), come in multiple colors, and cost only 1500 yen ($14.65) each. In short, they're <em>just the kind of thing</em> we'd like to see.<br /><br />We'd say that, <em>as usual</em>, these are only available in Japan, but UNIQLO actually has stores in the UK, as well as one in New York. It is, then, <em>possible</em> that these have made it outside Japan, or may soon! We're just glad to be reminded of a time when Sega fandom was possible.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/09/japanese-retailer-uniqlo-celebrates-sega/">Japanese retailer UNIQLO celebrates Sega</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 09 Apr 2008 10:30:00 EST. Gaming apparel. It's often only attainable through various <a href="http://www.thinkgeek.com/tshirts/gaming/">specialty websites</a> or other, more dastardly means. It appears that things are about to change, at least regarding indie games, as retailer Target is now carrying gaming apparel. Even better, each shirt only costs $12 <em>and comes with a full version of the game</em>. As you can see in the above picture, we think <em>World of Goo </em>is awesome. Also, you can see other gaming-related shirts. <br /><br />As for whether your local Target is supporting this, unless you live in California, we can't tell you. Target has, for some reason, only included a list of CA stores carrying the merch. For that list, head past the break.<br /><br /><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/27/goo-up-your-torso-for-a-couple-bucks-at-target/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Goo up your torso for a couple bucks at Target</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/27/goo-up-your-torso-for-a-couple-bucks-at-target/">Goo up your torso for a couple bucks at Target</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 27 Mar 2008 22:35:00 EST. Next time you're running around your local Target, keep an eye out for some indie gaming love. The Experimental Gameplay Project has <a href="http://2dboy.com/2008/03/20/sexy-indie-game-shirts-sightings/">recently launched its own clothing line</a>: EGPApparel. The shirts are appearing in Targets all across the United States, each featuring a particular independently-developed title. As if that wasn't filled with enough awesome on its own, each shirt includes the full version of the indie game. That's an awesome t-shirt, and an awesome game, for only $12 USD.<br /><br />There are currently eight shirts in production, featuring indie titles like <em>Tower of Goo</em>, <em>Big Vine</em>, <em>Gravity Head</em>, <em>Gish</em>, and more. According to <em>Tower of Goo</em> developer Kyle Gabler, the shirts are appearing in Target stores nationwide, but have not yet reached every last chain location. Of course, the more people who run out and feverishly buy all eight designs, the more likely Target will be to ramp up distribution. We're just saying.<br /><br />Check out a full list of participating Targets in California after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/27/indie-game-shirts-with-games-now-available-at-target/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Indie game shirts (with games) now available at Target</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/27/indie-game-shirts-with-games-now-available-at-target/">Indie game shirts (with games) now available at Target</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 27 Mar 2008 08:30:00 EST. Love <em>Dr. Mario</em> above all others? Then this might be the <em>most awesome thing you've ever seen</em> -- or at least one of the most unique. It's a handmade tunic accented with bits of a licensed <em>Dr. Mario</em> fabric. Obviously, at $60, it's a little pricier than most of the gaming-related items like this we've seen, but in our esteemed opinion, it's as <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/20/space-invaders-scarf-is-out-of-this-world/">incredible</a> (or <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/15/the-wallet-destroying-1up-scarf/">more so</a>!) than some. It's also nice and stretchy -- the better to fit a variety of sizes.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/07/the-doctor-is-on-your-torso/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The doctor is on (your torso)</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/07/the-doctor-is-on-your-torso/">The doctor is on (your torso)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 07 Feb 2008 16:00:00 EST. Japanese game shirt maker extraordinaire The King of Games is producing a special shirt in celebration of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Sega/">Sega</a>'s newest mascot revival. This <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/27/gamesradar-finishes-nights-rubs-it-in-our-faces/"><em>NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams</em></a> shirt comes in black or white and features glow-in-the-dark elements (NiGHTS and the text area on the black shirt, the moon and stars on the white shirt). Unfortunately, it not only costs 4,200 yen ($38), it's only available in Japan. Also, <a href="http://segadirect.jp/Catalog/CustomPages/CustomDetail2.aspx?File=nights_wii.htm#1122">preorders</a> for the thing opened two days ago and most sizes are already sold out.<br /><br />Does that translate into interest in the game? We hope so! Does it translate into inconsolable sadness for us, sitting in stupid America with no <em>NiGHTS</em> shirts? <br />We still haven't heard word on whether or not Nintendo will ever bring <span style="font-style: italic;">Rhythm Tengoku</span> to the states (Highly unlikely), but <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Sega/">Sega</a> has been keeping the rhythm-action title going in Japan with its <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/10/rhythm-tengoku-taunts-us-even-more/">GBA-to-arcade port</a> and, according to this new find, UFO catchers filled with <span style="font-style: italic;">Rhythm-Tengoku</span>-themed prizes!<br /><br />Provided that you're proficient with <span style="font-style: italic;">maneuvering a claw to pick up crap</span>, you'll be able to win a number of brightly-colored, long-sleeved shirts with the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/minigame/">minigame</a> collection's characters screen-printed on them, as well as pillows shaped like <span style="font-style: italic;">Rhythm Tengoku's</span> iconic, hairy onions. <div align="left">Since we've never been given the opportunity to <em>play</em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/11/yo-mama-so-cheap-you-can-buy-her-at-play-asia-for-14-90/"><em>Mother 3</em></a>, we aren't really able to gauge the thematic radness of Edit Mode's new <em>Mother 3</em> "Emergency" <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/shirt/">shirt</a>. Still, just as we know that <em>all</em> shirts sold on <a href="http://www.the-king-of-games.com/">The King of Games</a> are awesome, we have an inherent knowledge that everything about this shirt is wonderful, except the $50 price tag. We <em>know</em> that the design is pretty nice, and that the warning text on the back is adorable.<br /></div>

<br />The other new <em>Mother </em>shirt, featuring a logo for "The Sharks," comes from <em>Mother 2</em> a.k.a. <a href="http://starmen.net/mother2/"><em>Earthbound</em></a>, and is therefore easily verifiable as being great.
