GOG weekend sale: Alpha Centauri, Syndicate and other EA classics 60% off

Several of EA's classic PC games have had their prices slashed to ridiculous levels on GOG for this weekend - games like Alpha Centauri, Syndicate, Populous and more can be had for under $3 each.

Other EA games taking part in the sale include a whole bunch of Ultimas, the Wing Commander series and SimCity 2000. All of the games listed on GOG's weekend promo page will set you back $2.39 a pop. If you want to purchase all 26 eligible games, it'll cost $62.14.

Send giant birds to poop on your friends in SimCity Social

We've taken two major points away from the SimCity Social producer diary above. First off, the game is looking an awful lot like SimCity 2000, which is a good thing in our book. Secondly, SimCity Social makes it possible to send a squadron of massive birds, flying in formation, to take major dumps all over your friends' cities.

We're going to spend literally one hundred percent of our time making that happen once the game launches on Facebook, which is said to happen sometime in the coming weeks.

GOG weekend sale is full of winners from the distant past at low, low prices

This weekend, GOG has Alpha Centauri, Dungeon Keeper 1 and 2, SimCity 2000 and Populous 1 and 2 for $3 apiece.

If dated graphics don't bother you, we expect you to be done extracting the fun out of these games sometime in 2015.

PSN Friday: Better late than never

Was it worth the wait? Actually, this week's PSN update is rather substantial, offering up The Legend of Han Tao (don't be fooled by its cheesy name, it's not that bad) and several demos worth checking out, including WET getting wild at the top of the list. Let's not overlook the classics either, as PS1's Tomb Raider 2 and SimCity 2000 are both available for $6. There's plenty more content to check out after the break.
