But no such luck, it seems: The domain went live this week and, soon after that, some <a href="http://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/17zgcf/blizzards_newest_websiteproject_project_blackstone/c8a7qtw">crafty Redditors found the password</a>. (It's "Y7_$0&gt;0k_3&lt;$m," if you want to try it yourself). The whole campaign has been revealed as a <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/starcraft-2-heart-of-the-swarm"><em>Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm</em></a> tie-in.<br /><br />Opening the site up reveals emails between various Terran characters talking about experimenting on Zerg lifeforms and presumably we'll see updates in the future that will fill out the story heading into the new game. <em>Heart of the Swarm</em>, the second part of the trilogy that Blizzard's <em>Starcraft 2</em> has become, is due out on March 12.<br /><br />[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/07/blizzards-project-blackstone-is-a-heart-of-the-swarm-viral-camp/">Blizzard's Project Blackstone is a Heart of the Swarm viral campaign</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 07 Feb 2013 01:00:00 EST. Considering that the next iteration of <em>GTA</em> is set in a faux Los Angeles and that <a href="http://gta.wikia.com/Epsilon_Program">the Epsilon Program was featured</a> in a gags found within <em>GTA: San Andreas</em>, odds are good that we're looking at an early viral campaign for <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/gta-5"><em>Grand Theft Auto 5</em></a>. Good timing, since only yesterday investors were asking why the hype train for <em>GTA 5</em> had <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/31/take-two-investor-call-theme-wheres-grand-theft-auto-5/">not yet left the station</a>.<br /><br />What does it tell us about the game? Nothing at all. But investors were wondering where the marketing was, and Take Two appears to have answered right away.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/01/grand-theft-auto-5-marketing-kicks-off-with-viral-epsilon-progr/">Grand Theft Auto 5 marketing kicks off with viral 'Epsilon Program' site</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 01 Aug 2012 22:00:00 EST. <br />Along with the news that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/26/segas-new-rpg-world-destruction-depicted/"><em>World Destruction</em></a> will be releasing in Japan on September 25th (shock, gasp, it was pushed back a week!), Sega has released a new video for the title. Although it shows some more gameplay footage, most of it is your classic RPG fodder and not battle scenes. Still, we're pretty impressed by how it seems to be turning out. Not only does it look great and have an interesting story, but the 300 event scenes and plethora of maps and voices that Sega promised should be enough to excite any RPG gamer.<br /><br />Also, folks interested in the game (or anime, or comic) can go and check out <em>World Destruction's</em> <a href="http://wd.sega.jp/">official website</a>. There's not much in the "Game" section, aside from a nice-looking background and a gorgeous song (the one from <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/31/trailers-created-for-world-destruction/">previous trailers</a>), but the song alone is enough to get us to keep on coming back until they add some content.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/25/sega-shows-more-destruction/">Sega shows more Destruction</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 25 Jul 2008 20:00:00 EST. With <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/28/sonic-and-mario-finally-team-up-for-a-game/"><em>Mario &amp; Sonic at the Olympic Games</em></a> finally <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/27/mario-and-sonic-ds-runs-into-a-hurdle/">heading out</a> in January for U.S. and Japanese gamers, and in February for the European market, it's no surprise that Nintendo's finally gotten around to putting up their official site. Sega's site has been up for some time, as has Nintendo's site for the Wii version, but the DS game has lagged a bit behind. On the Japanese site, you can see some of the games and how they'll control, in all their <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/16/mario-and-sonic-will-destroy-your-touch-screen/">touchscreen-destroying</a> glory, as well as characters, event breakdowns, and more.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://gamefront.de/">Gamefront</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/27/mario-and-sonic-at-the-official-web-site/">Mario &amp; Sonic at the official web site</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 27 Dec 2007 22:30:00 EST. <div align="left">We know some of you have some <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/16/siliconera-checks-out-ontamarama/">mixed</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/21/joystiq-on-ontamarama/">feelings</a> about <em>Ontamarama</em>, but we'll say this: the newly-revealed English-language site is pretty awesome. But then, we're suckers for any chance to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/media/2007/09/alisha_colors_rest.png">color</a>, so maybe we're biased. The new web site actually has a decent amount of content, and the overall design is quite pleasing -- we especially appreciated the stylus pointer when navigating around. The usual fare is all here: story, screens, and downloads featuring wallpapers, videos, and as a nice addition, an avatar package, but it's the extras that got our attention. In addition to the coloring book mentioned above, there are a couple of little minigames to get you hyped for the <em>Ontamarama</em> experience. If only every <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/30/ds-daily-official-sites/">game site</a> was as rich in fun, random content!<br /><br />[Via press release]<br /><br /></div>

Oh, Mackenzie. We can't help but love you, with your quirky little face and even quirkier cast of extras. And thanks to the brand new site for <em>Touch Detective 2<span style="white-space: nowrap;" class="template-frac">1<big>&frasl;</big>2</span></em>, we can wallow in new screenshots, character profiles, and more. The best part? The site is filled to the brim with the two things that are best about this burgeoning franchise: the art design and the humor. <br /><br />Also, if anything was ever great avatar material, it is <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/media/2007/08/salmon_wall_800600.jpg">Space Salmon</a>. <br />The Japanese site for <em>Soul Calibur Legends</em> is up and running, complete with screenshots and a few character profiles, and lots of room to expand for later content. Despite the change in gameplay, the site gives us warm and fuzzy feelings of familiarity. While this isn't the same ol' fighting game that we're used to from <em>Soul Calibur</em>, the mood of the series is definitely intact. <br /><br />[Via <a href="http://gonintendo.com/?p=20875">GoNintendo</a>]<br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/06/japanese-soul-calibur-legends-site-opens-for-business/">Japanese Soul Calibur Legends site opens for business</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 06 Jul 2007 16:20:00 EST. <br />We do, too, and though the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/13/mysterious-no-more-heroes-countdown-surfaces/">countdown</a> has ended, we've been left a little unfulfilled by the <em>No More Heroes</em> site. Guess we can't expect much from these countdowns, eh?<br /><br />The good news is that the site is open, and there's lots of unactivated tabs ripe for expansion. Looks like the real wait begins ... now. But from everything we've seen of <em>No More Heroes</em>, it's worth a few months of thumb-twiddling and breath-holding. We just hope it doesn't suffer the same fate as <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/20/nintendo-says-no-to-ao-manhunt-2/"><em>Manhunt 2</em></a> .... <br /><br />Luckily for those of us who burn for more on Suda 51's latest effort, <a href="http://www.famitsu.com/game/coming/2007/06/20/104,1182329902,73726,0,0.html?ref=rss"><em>Famitsu</em></a> has some updates for us, including some hot shots of rocket-legged female assassin Holly Summers. Expect more coverage in the coming months, as <em>No More Heroes</em> is tentatively scheduled for release this winter.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/22/need-more-no-more-heroes/">Need more No More Heroes?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 22 Jun 2007 17:50:00 EST. Considering that the US release date (4/09) is a week and a half earlier than Japan's, we're not sure which to blame for why their official site came up before North America's -- our laziness or their industriousness.<br /><br />Along with the standard story and cast previews, there are three gameplay videos, with nine more promised. The movie clip showing what happens when Mario gets a star is definitely worth a watch. We've really grown fond of seeing the giant plumber kick aside warp pipes ever since he picked up the habit in <a href="http://dsfanboy.com/tag/newsupermariobros"><em>New Super Mario Bros</em></a>.<br /><br />Keep an eye on the site as there are still two unrevealed sections. With the game's release being only a few weeks away, they won't be able to hold onto those last bits of hidden info for too long!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/26/new-videos-at-super-paper-marios-japanese-site/">New videos at Super Paper Mario's Japanese site</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 26 Mar 2007 11:55:00 EST. The official US website for this RPG opened a few days ago, and gives a few tidbits on the game's story and characters. If the site is any indication of the quality of the finished game, we're sold. Times ten. The day draws near, and even though some of you folk were able to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/06/02/major-nelson-scores-ds-lite/">capitalize on the ignorance of retail employees</a> around the country, there are still a few of us living in the dark and waiting for the Lite. So do we think this design is better than <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/04/17/nintendo-lites-up-their-website/">the previous</a> one?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/06/08/nintendos-ds-section-gets-facelift/">Nintendo's DS section gets facelift</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 08 Jun 2006 12:00:00 EST. That's where trusty reader Jeremy swooped in,&nbsp;wet fish&nbsp;firmly gripped in hand, and waved the large&nbsp;tuna directly into our <em>collective faces</em> screaming "post it!" Not one to ever turn down a <strike>crazed&nbsp;madman</strike> fan, we happily report that the site has received a major overhaul, but if you're too busy actually <em>playing</em> the game to check it out, we'll understand and suffer our fate as best we can.</p>
<p>[Thanks Jeremy Hall!]</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/16/mario-site-is-updated-yet-again/">Mario site is updated yet again</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 16 May 2006 08:00:00 EST.
