Recording from Gamescom, Harmonix has issued a <a href="http://vimeo.com/14293335">video response</a> to the alleged <em>Rock Band 3</em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/19/rock-band-3-songs-leaked-by-video/">song list leak</a> from earlier this week. Three members of the studio appear on screen to discredit the -- wait a minute! <em>Is that the entire setlist scrolling in the background?</em><br />
<br />
Head past the break for the complete 83-track listing, as seen in Harmonix's tongue-in-cheek reveal.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/20/this-is-the-full-83-track-rock-band-3-setlist/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>This is the full 83-track Rock Band 3 setlist</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/20/this-is-the-full-83-track-rock-band-3-setlist/">This is the full 83-track Rock Band 3 setlist</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 20 Aug 2010 14:15:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/25/guitar-hero-5-and-band-hero-march-dlc/">As expected</a>, the '80s Track Pack for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/guitar-hero"><em>Guitar Hero 5</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/band-hero"><em>Band Hero</em></a> is now available for download on all the various consoles, featuring three respectable songs from the decade of New Wave and hair bands. Well, two or three, depending on how you like The Go-Gos. The entire thing is available for 440<img border="0" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" alt="" /> on Xbox Live, $5.49 on PSN, or 550 Wii Points, and the individual songs are as follows:<br />
<ul>
    <li><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4ehGN-nTkw">"Girls, Girls, Girls"</a> by Motley Crue <span class="album_title">(160<img border="0" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" alt="" /></span><span class="album_title">/ $1.99</span><span class="album_title"> /</span><span class="album_title"> 200 Wii Points</span><span class="album_title">)</span></li>

Say what you want about "We Got the Beat," but we won't tolerate hating on the Crue or Night Ranger and, from the looks of those hairstyles above, they won't either. These songs are available now for both games, so get yourself <em>mo-tor-in'</em> on over to the store if you want 'em.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/26/80s-track-pack-available-now-for-guitar-hero-5-and-band-hero/">'80s Track Pack available now for Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 26 Mar 2010 04:57:00 EST. If you've been savoring the slow trickle of track list announcements for Activision's tween-oriented rhythm title, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/band-hero"><em>Band Hero</em></a>, your prolonged pleasure is about to come to a satisfying, yet <em>abrupt end</em>. The publisher has <a href="http://investor.activision.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=416386">revealed</a> <em>all</em> of the songs that will be available on the generically monikered game, and we've posted them -- along with details about compatible DLC and song importing from other <em>Guitar Hero </em>games -- after the jump in the least confusing manner we could possibly conjure. To help in this endeavor, we've even added a table of contents!<br />
<br />
Man, we're seriously <em>too</em> nice for our own good.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/19/full-band-hero-track-list-importable-songs-revealed/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Full Band Hero track list, importable songs revealed</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/19/full-band-hero-track-list-importable-songs-revealed/">Full Band Hero track list, importable songs revealed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 19 Oct 2009 10:34:00 EST. Is your brain plagued by the infinitely catchy songs in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/littlebigplanet"><em>LittleBigPlanet</em></a>? Do you frequently annoy your friends with your incessant humming of The Go! Team's <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4FaGacwtd4">unofficial <em>LBP</em> theme song</a>? Oh, did we just re-stick in your head? Sorry, we should've thought that out before we laid it on you like that.<br />
<br />
Maybe all you need to do is add a bit of variation to your <em>LBP</em> soundtrack -- an option which will be made available this Thursday <a href="http://www.mediamolecule.com/2009/10/05/this-week-mm-music-pack-1/">with the release of the "Mm Music Pack 1."</a> The DLC pack will add three original, interactive tracks to the game: "Wise Owl," an ambient electronica song, "Well Trained," a blues-inspired ditty, and "Tea By the Sea," which is undefinable, yet funky. Get a preview of these three tracks <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqmPtEYzGdU&amp;fmt=22">in the video</a> after the jump, then decide if they're worth the $2.99 price tag.<br />
<br />
[Thanks, Chris!]<br />

Brace your faces, karaoke fans -- <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/SingStar/" style="font-style: italic;">SingStar</a>'s US store has added <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/08/31/this-week-on-the-singstore-3/">even more content</a> to help you sing the night away. This week the US <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/SingStore/">SingStore</a> has added a Blondie song pack comprised of five hits from the 70s-80s phenom as well as individual Coldplay tracks, originally released together as a package a few months ago.<br /><br />The store is also adding a few international flavors with tracks from (the awesome) Los Delinquentes with fellow Spanish star Bebe and Portugal's ironically named (because he's totally <em>not</em> a giant) Sir Giant. Full track listing can be found after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/31/us-singstore-adds-blondie-individual-coldplay-tracks/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>US SingStore adds Blondie, individual Coldplay tracks</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/31/us-singstore-adds-blondie-individual-coldplay-tracks/">US SingStore adds Blondie, individual Coldplay tracks</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 31 Aug 2009 18:00:00 EST. Why, you may be wondering, does the <a href="http://investor.activision.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=399980">recently finalized</a> setlist for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/guitar-hero-5"><em>Guitar Hero 5</em></a> look familiar? Well, for starters, it looks a heck of a lot like the unofficial track list <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/08/unofficial-the-complete-guitar-hero-5-track-list/">we compiled earlier this month</a>. Like, <em>a lot</em>. Like, every single track that was on that list is on this one.<br /><br />Yes, the confirmed list of 85 songs (posted after the break) that will be featured in the next installment in Activision's rhythm franchise bears no surprises, except for the fact that it's <em>surprisingly</em> not terrible. <em>Song 2?</em> Elton John? Raconteurs? <em>Double Bowie?</em> Yes, please.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/30/activision-confirms-familiar-looking-setlist-for-guitar-hero-5/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Activision confirms familiar-looking setlist for Guitar Hero 5</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/30/activision-confirms-familiar-looking-setlist-for-guitar-hero-5/">Activision confirms familiar-looking setlist for Guitar Hero 5</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 30 Jul 2009 11:46:00 EST. Like always, these tunes can't be downloaded in packs on the Wii -- each song must be downloaded separately for 200 Wii Points (except for the free ones, which are, of course, free). Joystiq regrets the implication that the price increase was unannounced.<br /><br />Price-conscious and/or pretentious <em>Rock Band</em> fans were understandably giddy when Harmonix decided to release <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/24/rock-band-weekly-all-american-rejects-30-seconds-to-mars-the/">five downloadable indie tracks for the bargain price of 99 cents</a> (or the equivalent number of Microsoft points) in late December. We hope those fans didn't procrastinate, though, because the price for all five tracks has been raised to the more conventional $1.99 as of yesterday.<br /><br /><strike>While there was no indication at the outset that the lower price would be in any way temporary</strike>, (see above update) The increase has been <a href="http://news.filefront.com/rumor-rock-band-dlc-song-prices-to-increase-by-end-of-month/">rumored</a> for a couple of weeks now. When Harmonix <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/14/rock-band-dlc-priced-cheaper-than-guitar-heros-offers-choice/">announced the <em>Rock Band</em> DLC program</a> they said individual track prices would range anywhere from $0.99 to $2.99, but they also stressed that the "vast majority" of tracks would hit the $1.99 sweet spot.<br /><br />Does this increase mean that future songs are less likely to be released at 99 cents? "I don't think that's necessarily what it means," said a spokesperson for MTV/Harmonix, though he added that future 99 cent releases would probably "be the same situation, with the discounted price for a limited time." We've asked for confirmation of the official policy on this score and will let you know if and when we hear back about it.<br /><br />[Thanks, Keith]<br /><a href="http://news.filefront.com/rumor-rock-band-dlc-song-prices-to-increase-by-end-of-month/"> <br /></a><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/01/cheaper-indie-rock-band-dlc-raised-to-standard-price/">Cheaper indie Rock Band DLC raised to standard price</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 01 Feb 2008 16:30:00 EST. The February issue of <span style="font-style: italic;">Official Xbox Magazine</span> will have three "completely exclusive," albeit obscure songs for <em>Rock Band</em>. The disc <a href="http://www.oxmonline.com/article/features/presses/free-rock-band-songs">contains</a> Freezepop's <em>Spr&oslash;de</em>, Bang Camaro's <em>Rock Rebellion</em> and Count Zero's <em>Shake</em> (like our <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rock-band-weekly/"><span style="font-style: italic;">Rock Band</span> weekly</a> feature, we've placed videos of the songs after the break; though we're currently missing <em>Shake</em>).<br /><br /><em>OXM</em> Editor-in-Chief Francesca Reyes tells Joystiq, "You'll be able to download the songs from the disc onto your [hard drive] and they will remain there with or without the disc in the drive." Does this mean Harmonix could eventually offer retail expansion discs stuffed with songs? That idea is pure speculation, but we'd welcome it in lieu of a full-priced '<em>Rock Band 2</em>.'<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/03/exclusive-rock-band-songs-in-feb-oxm/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Exclusive Rock Band songs in Feb. We're a little under pressure this week as David Bowie becomes the DLC content on XBLM and PSN for <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/RockBand/">Rock Band</a></em>. Why under pressure? Well, we're sure that the covers for <em>Heroes</em> and <em>Queen Bitch</em> are of the highest Harmonix quality, so we're having pre-stress in case Bowie has a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/21/the-romantics-sue-over-virtually-indistinguishable-cover-in-gu/">The Romanics nutter and sues</a> everyone because the covers are too good! We're gonna watch that man. This week's <em>Rock Band</em> DLC is:<br /><br /><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Bowie Pack - $5.50:</span></span><br /></span>
<ul>
    <li><em><span style="font-style: italic;">Moonage Daydream </span></em>($2)</li>
    <li><em><span style="font-style: italic;"> Heroes </span></em>($2 <strong>*Cover*</strong>)</li>
    <li><em><span style="font-style: italic;"> Queen Bitch </span></em>($2 <strong>*Cover*</strong>)</li>

We're hoping everything willl be hunky dory with Bowie about these covers, but can he justifiably complain about anything being married to a goddess like <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iman_Abdulmajid">Iman</a>?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/27/rock-band-weekly-bowies-queen-bitch-has-moonlight-daydreams/">Rock Band Weekly: Bowie's 'queen bitch' has 'moonage daydreams' about 'heroes'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 27 Nov 2007 12:00:00 EST. Welcome to our first edition of Rock Band Weekly, where we'll be posting the new DLC content for <em>Rock Band</em> on a (gasp!) weekly basis. Although almost every song and pack has been <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/14/rock-band-dlc-priced-cheaper-than-guitar-heros-offers-choice/">announced</a> up until the end of the year, who wants to do all that searching into the ancient times to find answers? A friendly reminder never hurt anyone -- plus something like this will keep Harmonix honest on their <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/14/joystiq-visits-harmonix-to-talk-rock-band-dlc-and-incidentals/">weekly DLC statements</a>.<br /><br />This week is <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rockband"><em>Rock Band</em></a> launch week and there's a slew of new content available for DLC. We're guessing it's standard ops for Xbox 360 to get the content on Wednesday and PS3 on Thursday. Find the list of songs and packs for this week after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/20/rock-band-weekly-metallica-police-queens-of-the-stone-age-and/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Rock Band Weekly: Metallica, Police, Queens of the Stone Age and others</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/20/rock-band-weekly-metallica-police-queens-of-the-stone-age-and/">Rock Band Weekly: Metallica, Police, Queens of the Stone Age and others</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 20 Nov 2007 11:59:00 EST. There's something delightful about these minute-long loops that stay stuck in our heads like an attractive girl we saw in passing.<br /><br />Electro-experimental group ROBOTOBOTS chopped up the music tracks and added its own flavor to the interface themes. The resulting three songs -- <em>Breaking Points</em>, <em>Revolve Around Planets</em>, and <em>Built to Diistroy</em> -- are just as fetching as the original tunes, albeit more complex and not as light-hearted. We wouldn't mind listening to these reinterpreted tracks in place of Nintendo's pieces, were it possible. <br /><br />[Via <a href="http://nintendogal.com/index.php?/archives/1499-Wii-Channels-Remixed-Into-Songs.html">Nintendogal</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/02/wii-music-remix-ft-robotobots/">Wii Music (Remix) ft. I don't mean tapping away at your keyboard on some <a href="http://louhi.kempele.fi/~skyostil/uv/fretsonfire/">competent PC clone</a><em>, </em>I mean actually strumming along to your favorite rock anthem on your TV with your favorite <em>Guitar Hero</em> controller. Apparently it's possible with a DVD burner, a modded PS2, and a handful of hacking programs as outlined on the <a href="http://www.scorehero.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3592&amp;sid=3cf8e0777f8f639f0f6ce38e96cfa03d">ScoreHero.com forums</a>.</p>
<p>The 12-step process requires that you to handle some pretty complicated file juggling, but the end results are impressive. Keep reading for a couple of examples of some custom songs inserted into everyone's favorite Guitar game. </p><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/01/23/play-custom-songs-on-hacked-guitar-hero-ii/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Play custom songs on hacked Guitar Hero II</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/01/23/play-custom-songs-on-hacked-guitar-hero-ii/">Play custom songs on hacked Guitar Hero II</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 23 Jan 2007 18:30:00 EST. Many have questioned Sony's decision to simply make an updated port and put it on UMD, when a game like <em>PaRappa</em> would be an ideal candidate for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/psone">PSone emulation</a>. <a href="http://www.siliconera.com/index.php/2006/10/18/new-additions-in-parappa-the-rapper-psp/">Siliconera</a> reports that the game will offer <em>something</em> new for PSP owners: the ability to download new songs through Infrastructure mode. Strangely, the new songs will not affect the gameplay in any way: the levels and corresponding button presses will not change when you download these songs. Gyuh? Sounds strange. Hopefully, Sony's been hiding something from us. The game hits Japan on <a href="http://global.yesasia.com/assocred.asp?DRAZHJTP+http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx/code-j/section-games/pid-1004540737/">December 7th</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/10/21/parappa-to-feature-downloadable-music-but-no-new-levels/">PaRappa to feature downloadable music, but no new levels</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 21 Oct 2006 14:15:00 EST. It's a departure from the first game's multiplayer mode in that the two players have to depend on each other a lot more to pass each song and thereby make beautiful music together.<br /><br />While the old multiplayer option will still be around in the sequel, the new mode mixes distinct lead guitar and bass or rhythm parts where each player affects the other in various ways, whether by failing if either performance slips (as in <em>DDR</em>), sharing the same Rock Meter (with mistakes from either player resetting the score multiplier), and needing to both go vertical at the same time to activate the shared Star Power. Thankfully, different difficulty levels can be assigned to each player.<br /><br />The Joystiq team out in L.A. will probably find <span style="font-style: italic;">something</span> to do until they get their sweaty paws on a guitar controller or two on the E3 show floor (maybe one of those wacky press conferences will help pass the time), but we're sure the wait to try the latest build of this rockin' series will be worth it. The seven songs available at E3 are listed below.<br /><br />[Thanks, murph]<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/08/preview-of-new-guitar-hero-ii-co-op-mode/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Preview of new Guitar Hero II co-op mode</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/08/preview-of-new-guitar-hero-ii-co-op-mode/">Preview of new Guitar Hero II co-op mode</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 08 May 2006 15:21:00 EST.
