Microsoft has added two more popular Xbox 360 titles to the console's Games on Demand system -- <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/medal-of-honor-airborne"><em>Medal of Honor Airborne</em></a> and <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/soulcalibur-iv"><em>SoulCalibur IV</em></a> are now available for download, priced at $19.99 each. Those of you overseas (or in the US with amazing memories) will know that <em>MoH Airbourne</em> actually appeared internationally <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/02/ddr-universe-3-is-latest-addition-to-games-on-demand/">back in February</a>, but now everyone can enjoy the relentless slaughter of WWII soldiers from above.<br />
<br />
Oh, and playing a fighting game as Yoda is fun, too.<br />

<div align="left">It's no longer a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/26/rumor-vador-dlc-to-darken-soulcalibur-iv/">rumor</a>, Darth Vader will in fact be coming to a <em>SoulCalibur IV</em> near you. Though, for a price.</div>
</div>
<br />
On Thursday, October 23rd, the once Playstation 3 <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/09/darth-vader-and-yoda-join-soul-calibur-iv-seriously/">exclusive</a> <em>SoulCalibur IV</em> Vader character will be <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/17/soulcalibur-iv-getting-vader-and-yoda-dlc/">available for purchase</a> off the Xbox Live Marketplace. Purchasable for 400 Microsoft points. Yes, we'll admit, $5 for Vader is a bit expensive, but when you look at what you're getting in terms of getting the chance to pit Yoda against Vader in an epic <em>SoulCalibur IV</em> battle of awesomeness. Well, then it doesn't seem too bad. But we must ask, where's our unlockable Jar Jar Binks?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/18/vader-to-invade-soulcalibur-iv-for-a-price/">Vader to invade Soulcalibur IV for a price</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 18 Oct 2008 10:45:00 EST. <em>Street Fighter IV</em> is unlikely to have exclusive <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/18/vader-and-yoda-square-off-in-new-soul-calibur-iv-trailer/">console-specific characters</a> (like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Soul-Calibur-IV/"><em>Soul Calibur IV</em></a><em>)</em> when it releases next year, the game's producer tells <a href="http://www.videogamer.com/news/26-08-2008-9166.html">Videogamer</a>. Yoshinori Ono believes the idea of exclusive characters is unfair -- and that extends to "downloadable characters" as well.<br /><br />Yoshinori expresses that this is only his "policy," however, so we won't rule out the influence of the Capcom overlords. <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/street-fighter-iv">SF IV</a></em> is expected on consoles around the time the <em>Street Fighter</em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/19/street-fighter-iv-releasing-alongside-movie-in-2009-says-films/">movie releases in early 2009</a>.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-iv-1/">Street Fighter IV</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-iv-1/#1337097"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/02/guile_006-252009-37_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-iv-1/#1337096"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/02/dan_004-252009-26_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-iv-1/#1337095"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/02/cviper_001-252009-10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-iv-1/#1337094"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/02/balrog_005-252009-49_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-iv-1/#1337093"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/02/seth_004-252009-8_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/26/street-fighter-iv-producer-console-specific-characters-not-very-fair/">Street Fighter IV producer: Console-specific characters 'not very fair'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 26 Aug 2008 15:30:00 EST. And before you ask, we'll admit that we don't know all that much about the demo, what's included or which characters are featured in it (fingers crossed for Yoda), so don't ask us. Just download it and quit being so darn lazy. But, we do know what our favorite thing about the <em>SoulCalibur IV</em> demo is, and it's the NAMCO-BANDAI supplied demo description which reads: "Especially suitable for the players out there who are still undecided in purchasing the final product!" Now that's called being honest.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/22/soulcalibur-iv-demo-bloodies-up-the-xblm/">SoulCalibur IV demo bloodies up the XBLM</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 22 Aug 2008 12:45:00 EST. It looks like Yoda and Darth Vader are finally working together. You see, the two Jedi masters have managed to help push <a href="http://www.gamespot.com/news/6195578.html">2 million copies</a> of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/soul-calibur-iv"><em>Soul Calibur IV</em></a> onto the gaming populace. The number accounts for both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 version of the game. We're curious to see which version sold more copies. No, not because we want the Xbox 360 version to succeed, but because we want some new nerd ammunition for the next time we get into the Darth Vader vs Yoda conversation.<br />

<div align="left">If Katsutoshi Sasaki, the director of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/soulcalibur-iv"><em>Soulcalibur IV</em></a><em>,</em> is to be believed, there will be no Yoda in the form of DLC in the PS3 version. There won't be a Vader DLC for the 360 version, for that matter. <br /><br />The interview in <a href="http://www.msxbox-world.com/xbox360/features/article/321/XCN-Soul-Calibur-IV-QA-with-Katsutoshi-Sasaki-Director.html">MSXBox World</a> contains mostly questions about the Xbox 360 version, but when asked "will there ever be a time when we can have Darth Vader and Yoda on the same console?" Sasaki gave a clear reply of "we don't have any plans for that." The interview is dated August 31st, 2008, but we are going to assume it is from July 31st.<br /><br />This is contrary to earlier reports on the official Korean <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/28/yoda-as-dlc-for-soulcalibur-iv-says-korean-playstation-site/">PlayStation site</a> claiming Yoda will be available for download from the PSN. For players looking to expand their musical experience in a tale of souls and swords, eternally retold, Namco Bandai has released all 17 tracks from the original <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Soulcalibur/">Soulcalibur</a></em> soundtrack on the Xbox Live Marketplace for play within <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Soul-calibur-IV/">Soulcalibur IV</a></em>. At 80MS points a piece or 1,200MS points for the entire pack, the content is truly for the hardcore <em>SoCal</em> fans -- or those with an affinity for nonsense DLC.<br />
<br />
Also available on the XBLM is <em>actual</em> content for the game! The Customization Equipment 1 pack clocks in at 100MS points and includes a number of new items to use for character customization. The content pack is also revival themed in that it includes equipment <em>Soulcalibur</em> fans will recognize from previous games in the series -- including armor sets and headgear for a number of characters.<br />

The character creation tools of <em>Soulcalibur IV</em> look to be rather robust. <a href="http://kotaku.com/5030235/metal-gear-solid-in-my-soulcalibur-iv">Kotaku</a>'s CB has created facsimiles of our favorite <em>Metal Gear Solid</em> characters, Snake and Raiden, using the in-game system. While not 100% spot-on, these renders do add a distinct <em>Metal Gear</em> flair to the classic fighter. Seeing these two fighting on the Death Star with <em>Soulcalibur</em> weapons ... well, that's the kind of stuff fanfics are made of.<br /><br />[Thanks, Gambit07!]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/29/snake-versus-raiden-the-sciv-user-generated-match/">Snake versus Raiden: the SCIV user generated match</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 29 Jul 2008 09:30:00 EST. Over the weekend, a video of Darth Vader and Yoda fighting each other in <em>Soulcalibur IV</em> was leaked onto the internet (and then it was subsequently pulled). Currently, Darth Vader lives only on the PS3 version, while Yoda lives only on the Xbox 360 version. Could Namco Bandai be planning DLC which unlocks the famed Star Wars characters in both versions? It would make a lot of sense, wouldn't it?<br /><br />According to the <a href="http://www.playstation.co.kr/ps3/ps3_games_view.sce?sid=1281">Korean PlayStation site</a>, Yoda will be available for download from the PSN. That sounds like DLC to us. While Namco Bandai hasn't confirmed anything yet, we wouldn't be surprised if Yoda (and who knows what other characters) ended up appearing in <em>Soulcalibur IV</em>.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.siliconera.com/2008/07/28/sony-computer-entertainment-korea-leaks-yoda-as-soulcalibur-iv-ps3-dlc/">Siliconera</a>; Image via <a href="http://www.gamersreports.com/news/8653/vader-coming-to-360-soul-calibur-iv-as-download-screens/">GamersReports</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/28/yoda-as-dlc-for-soulcalibur-iv-says-korean-playstation-site/">Yoda as DLC for Soulcalibur IV, says Korean PlayStation site</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 28 Jul 2008 17:30:00 EST. This is it folks, this week officially marks the release of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/soul-calibur-iv"><em>Soul Calibur IV</em></a>. You may recall <em>SCIV</em> as the weapons based fighter that features not only <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/17/more-d-cups-runneth-over-new-sc-iv-shots/">ridiculously proportioned female fighters</a> but also <em>Yoda</em>. The Playstation 3 version gets Darth Vader himself, though he may be Force choking his way to the 360 if <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/26/rumor-vador-dlc-to-darken-soulcalibur-iv/">rumors</a> are to be believed. Also on the release this week are <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/02/spectral-force-3-site-launches-first-screens/"><em>Spectral Force 3</em></a> and <em>Summer Athletics The Ultimate Challenge</em>. <em>Spectral Force 3</em> is a Japanese strategy RPG and <em>Summer Athletics The Ultmate Challenge </em>is ... well, honestly, we have no idea. Looking at the title, we'd say someone is looking to cash in on the Olympic Games.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/28/new-games-this-week-soul-calibur-iv-edition/">Joystiq</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/28/shipping-this-week-now-with-more-yoda-edition/">Shipping this week: Now with more Yoda edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 28 Jul 2008 15:45:00 EST. Once thought to be the only good, pure and white edition of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/soul-calibur-iv"><em>SoulCalibur IV</em></a> may eventually be tainted with DLC from the dark side. Rumor on the internets is that NAMCO's Xbox 360 edition of <em>SoulCalibur IV</em>, which <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/09/darth-vader-and-yoda-join-soul-calibur-iv-seriously/">exclusively includes</a> Yoda and a white color scheme, may eventually get the PS3 exclusive Darth Vader fighter as a <a href="http://www.gamersreports.com/news/8653/vader-coming-to-360-soul-calibur-iv-as-download-screens/">content download</a>. Proof is in the in-game video pudding and, as you can see above, we have proof that both Yoda AND Darth Vader can battle it out in on the same Xbox 360. If true, are you willing to pay for a DLC Darth Vadar or do you demand your Vadar to be free content?<br />

Despite appearing in the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/soul-calibur-iv"><em>Soulcalibur IV</em></a> UbiDays 2008 Transcendence trailer, Algol didn't become official until today. Heralded as the "<span class="text_article_body">strongest character ever in <em>SC</em> series" by character designer Hideo Yoshie, Algol possesses the Soul Calibur on his left hand and the Soul Edge on his right. He can also fly in the air and has ten kinds of weapons built into his body. Algol's armor is of a bird motif and originated in an ancient kingdom lost to the sands of time. Ubisoft just <a href="http://www.ubi.com/UK/News/Info.aspx?nId=5318">announced</a> that customers who pre-order at UK retailer <a href="http://www.play.com/Games/Xbox360/4-/5192123/Soul-Calibur-IV/Product.html">Play.com</a> will receive a free <em>Soulcalibur IV </em>faceplate and those who choose to preorder at <a href="http://www.game.co.uk/Xbox360/Action/Combat/%7Er334566/Soul-Calibur-IV/?s=soul+calibur">GAME</a> stores will be getting an exclusive metal case packed with a bonus DVD and art book. Make your pre-order decision wisely, though no matter what you decide on, pre-order goodies have you will.<br />

The page has now been updated to reflect the fact that the game actually doesn't need a hard drive.<strong>]</strong><br />
<br />
So according to <a href="http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/s/soulcalibur4/">the game's</a> xbox.com page, Namco Bandai's fourth installment fighter isn't going to be playable for those arcade pack owners out there. While Microsoft's doctrine that your SKU wouldn't matter when it came to the simple act of playing games has been broken before (<em>FFXI</em>, etc) we really didn't expect to see it in a fighting game.<br />
<br />
It could be that the HDD requirement refers to the game's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/28/sciv-character-creation-hey-its-ryu/">Create-A-Soul mode</a> (which would obviously require space to save created players). But has the game really been created in such a way that doesn't simply disable that feature for a user without a hard drive? The xbox.com page could be a mistake of course, because to have to leave a certain section of the potential player base (however small) unable to purchase your game just seems a bit strange. As much as this is worth complaining about, let's hope that the game uses the 360 HDD's reserved 6GB of caching space so as to avoid the <a href="http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=323074">mandatory install</a> of the PS3 version (which seems to be the most likely situation, considering the PS3 HDD install is just about the same size as the 360's reserved cache.)</div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/01/sorry-arcade-users-soul-calibur-iv-requires-an-hdd/">Sorry Arcade users, Soul Calibur IV requires an HDD [update]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 01 Jul 2008 19:00:00 EST. Thankfully, a pair of <em>Soul Calibur IV</em> <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/player/35660.html">videos</a> on GameTrailers are just what the doctor ordered. Neither video is especially long, but we do get a look at Voldo's always disgusting form. So, that's ... um ... good, we guess. Less disgusting is some footage of Ivy, Siegfried, and Amy. Overall, it looks pretty much like <em>Soul Calibur</em>. One thing worth pointing out, Amy's voice over sounds about as wooden as a boat. Good thing the gameplay looks to be intact. Enjoy.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/30/new-gameplay-vids-of-scivs-burning-souls/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>New gameplay vids of SCIV's burning souls</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/30/new-gameplay-vids-of-scivs-burning-souls/">New gameplay vids of SCIV's burning souls</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 30 Jun 2008 17:15:00 EST. While those who skipped over the series' PS2-exclusive third installment won't be familiar with <em>Soul Calibur</em>'s Create-A-Soul mode, those who used it know that it had tons of depth and allowed for all manner of wacky options and crazy characters. For the <em>Soul Calibur IV</em> Create-A-Soul mode, Namco-Bandai <a href="http://japan.gamespot.com/ps3/news/story/0,3800075348,20376075,00.htm">looks to be</a> increasing the amount of customizability available to players, giving us some interesting (<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sciv-character-creation/888279/">Cat-man</a> &amp; <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sciv-character-creation/888264/">Afro-dude</a>) and recognizable (<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sciv-character-creation/888277/">Ryu</a> &amp; <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sciv-character-creation/888272/">Snake</a>) characters before the game is even released. Hopefully Namco has taken into account all the various parodies we've got in mind and allows for as many custom characters as can fit on the storage device ...<br />

The latest <em>Famitsu</em>, according to <a href="http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=169641">translations</a> from intrepid Cheap Ass Gamer forum goers, includes some brand new information on the upcoming Namco Bandai fighter <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/soul-calibur-iv"><em>Soul Calibur IV</em></a>. Of the newly revealed details, the most intriguing is that the game is set to include some kind of "character swapping" which immediately evokes the image of tag team battles seen in many other fighting games of years past. The strange part is that the swapping elements are only mentioned in regards to the single-player game. It's hard to imagine implementing a tag feature without incorporating it into multiplayer, but we'll just have to wait and see.<br /><br />The article also includes details on the game's character creation mode as well as a few more technical aspects of the fighting itself. The <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/god-of-war"><em>God of War</em></a> may be making a guest appearance in <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/soul-calibur-iv/">Soul Calibur IV</a></em> if <em>EGM</em>'s Quartermann is to be believed. <a href="http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3168394">1Up</a> reveals that its sister-publication's resident rumormonger anticipates Kratos will be in the PlayStation 3 version of the game. With some rather, err,<em> strange </em>accessories the new character seems to wield a large sword, and is said to be inspired-by or connected-to the character<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angol_Mois"> Angol Mois</a>. With these newest character reveals, <em>Soul Calibur IV's </em>roster seems to be growing larger all the time, not to mention the exclusives of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/09/soul-caliber-iv-boxarts-360-light-side/">Yoda and Vader</a>. Plus, if Namco-Bandai keeps the feature-set of the third game then <em>IV</em> will be the first chance for Xbox-exclusive gamers to get a look at series' create-a-player mode. <em>SCIV </em>is set to release this summer.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/27/four-new-soul-calibur-iv-characters/">Four new Soul Calibur IV characters</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 27 Mar 2008 09:45:00 EST. <em> Soul Calibur IV</em> director Katsutoshi Sasaki describes forthcoming <a target="_blank" href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/09/soul-calibur-ivs-secret-characters-darth-vader-and-yoda/">guest appearances</a> by Darth Vader and Yoda in the <em>Soul Calibur</em> universe as an obvious choice in this video interview with <a target="_blank" href="http://www.gametrailers.com/player/29644.html">GameTrailers</a>. Considering that Sasaki makes it clear that his games are built for "the consumers," we're starting to understand his brand of logic. Forget that <em>Star Wars</em> is set in a galaxy far, far away from the fantasy world of the <em>Soul</em> series. Rather, focus on <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/StarWars/">Star Wars</a></em> as one of the most profitable IPs of all time, and you can see why developer Project Soul gladly invited this <em>force</em> into its game - "naturally."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/15/vader-and-yoda-naturally-fit-into-soul-calibur-iv/">Vader &amp; Yoda 'naturally' fit into Soul Calibur IV</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 15 Jan 2008 16:00:00 EST. We went to bed knowing that Darth Vader and Yoda were <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/09/darth-vader-and-yoda-join-soul-calibur-iv-seriously/">showing up in <em>Soul Calibur IV</em></a> (Yoda is apparently 360 exclusive by the way, whereas Darth joins the <strike>Dark Side</strike> PS3). That alone was very disturbing. All night we had unsettling dreams about the effects of Force powers on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/17/more-d-cups-runneth-over-new-sc-iv-shots/">inordinately large breasts</a>. And now we have this, a <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/player/29550.html">trailer</a> showcasing them both. Honestly, if someone from Namco Bandai burst through the wall of Fanboy Towers right now screaming "Gotcha!" we wouldn't be surprised. After witnessing some hefty hoaxes and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/04/02/street-fighter-vs-mortal-kombat-on-xbla/">jokes</a> over the years, making this a little hard to swallow, but we're doing our best. Alas, you won't actually see Yoda or Darth doing any fighting, but at least you can see them in motion. On a side note, the game is looking great. Check out the video and see what you think. Is it April already? A quick glance at our calendars confirms that it's still January, and an extended glance at <a href="http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3165334">1UP's reveal</a> of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/SoulCaliburIV/">Soul Calibur IV</a>'</em>s secret characters does nothing to evaporate the reigning feeling of utter confusion. The lineup of saucer-eyed assassins, scantily clad combatants and bizarre pain fetishists in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Namco/">Namco</a>'s anticipated fighter is set to be joined by the Sith's darkest lord and the Force's most diminutive master. Our little green friend can almost manage to fit in to <em>Soul Calibur</em>'s ye olde fantasy trappings, but poor ol' Vader appears to have gotten lost and disoriented after leaping over some sharks on his <em>space jet ski</em>.<br /><br />Even better news can be found in 1UP's suspicion that even more Star Wars characters will waltz into <em>Calibur</em>'s cantina, possibly via downloadable content. An interesting idea, but we reckon you'd save money by simply buying a copy of <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars:_Masters_of_Ter%C3%A4s_K%C3%A4si">Masters of Ter&auml;s K&auml;si</a></em> off eBay.<br /><br /><strong>Update: </strong><a href="http://www.gamespot.com/news/6184530.html?action=convert&amp;om_clk=latestnews&amp;tag=latestnews;title;0">Gamespot</a> reports that Darth Vader is reserved for the PlayStation 3, while Yoda will be included in the Xbox 360 version.<br /><br />[Thanks, Antonio]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/09/soul-calibur-ivs-secret-characters-darth-vader-and-yoda/">Soul Calibur IV's secret characters: Darth Vader and Yoda</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 09 Jan 2008 18:00:00 EST. While the chances of us getting platform-specific characters, like Spawn, aren't very likely in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/12/soul-calibur-iv-officially-unveiled-teased/"><em>Soul Calibur IV</em></a>, Namco is hard at work at offering other bonuses. In an interview with <a href="http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?pager.offset=2&amp;cId=3162839">1up</a>, Katsutoshi Sasaki, the game's director, said his team at Project Soul is looking into the possibility of including Sixaxis motion control. He said it's "something that we're considering, but we'll have to come up with some good ideas for it first." <br /><br />But that's not all. In the same interview, lead programmer Masaaki Hoshino said they're also hoping to give gamers the ability to save their custom characters to the PS3's memory card and take it to a friend's house to do battle.<br /><br />Although it seems like it would be difficult for the developers to include any sort of motion control that would make sense, toting your custom characters on a memory card would be pretty handy. All we care about, though, are <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/27/new-soul-caliber-screenshots-show-off-ivys-enchancements/">Ivy's friends</a> and finally some <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/26/its-you-vs-the-world-when-soul-calibur-iv-comes-out-in-2008/"><em>Soul Calibur </em>online action</a>!<br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/18/namco-considering-motion-control-in-soul-calibur-iv/">Namco considering motion control in Soul Calibur IV</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 18 Sep 2007 11:00:00 EST.
