Update: The comments have closed and the winner will be contacted shortly. Thanks to everyone for participating!

If you're anything like us, you'll be spending a decent part of your holiday stuck in the seat of a train, bus, automobile, or aeroplane, heading towards wherever "home" is for the upcoming holidays. We know how nice it can be to pick up a new game or two for the travels ahead, and in the spirit of that we're giving out a DS/PSP travel pack for this week's Swag Saturday including both Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. Tell us your best (gaming or non-gaming) holiday travel story (keep it clean, folks! -- no "mile high club" stories!) and we'll pick one winner at random to receive the travel pack early this week. As always, keep an eye on the email address tied to your commenting name to find out if you've won!

Leave a comment telling us your best (gaming or non-gaming) holiday travel story.

You must be 18 years or older and a resident of the US or Canada (excluding Quebec -- which may have to do with the Ubisoft Petz franchise)

Limit 1 entry per person per day

This entry period ends at 9:31PM ET on Sunday, December 6

At that time, we'll randomly select one winner to receive one copy of Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days for Nintendo DS ($35 ARV) and one copy of Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny for Sony PSP ($40 ARV).

In Korea, you still have to buy a bundle to get it, but the game included is ... Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny. The presence of a large portrait of Ivy on the top of the box suggests that the lilac PSP is intended to match Ivy's costume. Either that or Hannah Montana is confirmed as a playable character in Soul Calibur.

It's interesting that Sony Computer Entertainment Korea doesn't seem to be operating under the notion that the Lilac system is just for "girlz." The Soul Calibur PSP Lilac Purple Pack will be out August 28 for 285,000 won ($231).
Sony Korea: 'You are so Voldo' originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 13 Aug 2009 13:30:00 EST.
When Soul Calibur III released on the PS2, its character creation mode added unprecedented depth to the series -- and subtracted most of our free time. It's fitting, then, that in keeping with its concept of being totally awesome, the series' first outing on PSP, Broken Destiny, would up the ante.

Its create-a-character goes beyond anything we've seen in a fighter on any platform. New options allow for precision-tuning of every aspect of a created combatant's appearance, including the size, position and angle of their various accessories. In one of the example screens released by Namco, a character's glasses go from resting on the tip of his nose to propped up on his brow (and presumably could be placed anywhere in-between). That clown in the above image? It's totally adjustable, in addition to being really effing freaky.

Perhaps the coolest option is the ability to create character portrait thumbnails that'll appear on the fighter selection screen. No more generic silhouettes or question marks. (Which makes us wonder: Will we be able to create a character that looks like a silhouette, or even a question mark?)

[Via Adriasang]

While checking out Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny, we were anxious to check out our main man Kratos kicking ass against the best Namco had to offer. Namco couldn't deliver, however, and we were forced to play the title sans ash-covered god.
Wait, Namco Bandai wasn't done announcing PSP games. Just an hour after their Tekken 6 announcement, the company also revealed a brand new Soulcalibur game for the handheld. Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny is a PSP-exclusive version of Soulcalibur IV. Gone are the Star Wars bonus characters, but in their stead will be at least one new character: Dampiere.

Broken Destiny will feature all the dressings of a console fighter, with arcade, versus and survival modes. New to the PSP version will be a new single-player mode meant for beginners struggling to learn the intricacies of the battle system. It will function, essentially, as an enhanced tutorial mode.

The PSP version will also feature new lighting effects that allow players to fight in stages at different times of day. Other gameplay components, such as the critical finish and armor destruction are also supposedly improved. Finally, Broken Destiny will offer Ad-Hoc wireless play, although according to Gamespot, Infrastructure might be a possibility. Expect Soulcalibur to hit your no-longer-defunct PSP this summer.
One more thing: Soulcalibur Broken Destiny heading to PSP originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 28 Apr 2009 20:05:00 EST.
