Come on down to <em>South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play</em> this week on Xbox Live Arcade for only 400 MS Points ($5). That's five extra<em> </em>bucks you could be spending on Cheesy Poofs. Also, the Eric Cartman version of Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" has been discounted to 80 MS Points ($1) in the <em>Rock Band</em> store.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/13/come-on-down-to-south-park-for-the-xbl-deal-of-the-week/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Come on down to South Park for the XBL Deal of the Week</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/13/come-on-down-to-south-park-for-the-xbl-deal-of-the-week/">Come on down to South Park for the XBL Deal of the Week</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 13 Jul 2010 01:45:00 EST. No joke -- several <em>solid</em> Xbox Live Arcade titles have been temporarily <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2010/04/01/xbox-live-arcade-inventory-blowout-sale.aspx">discounted</a>, most by 50 percent, today through April 7. A few of the notable victims of this price slaughter include:<br />
<ul>
    <li><em>Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</em> ($7) -- 53% off</li>
    <li><em>Lumines LIVE</em> ($5) -- 50% off</li>
    <li><em>South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play!</em> ($5) -- 50% off</li>
</ul>

<a href="http://www.majornelson.com/archive/2010/03/23/xbox-live-marketplace-release-schedule-march-23.aspx">Major Nelson</a> has dropped a new <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/xblm">Xbox Live Marketplace</a> schedule for the remainder of March and beginning of April and, while we knew about most of the major releases already, there's still some surprises to be found. First, the next two weeks will see some nice Deal of the Week promotions, with <em>Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram</em> falling to 800<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" /> ($10) and <em>Geometry Wars 2</em> dropping to a paltry 400<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" /> ($5).<br />
<br />
Beyond that, Xbox Live Silver members will also be able to enjoy free Xbox Live Gold -- including online multiplayer, Netflix, last.fm, Facebook and Twitter -- from noon ET on April 1 through noon ET on April 5. And, as if all that wasn't enough, Major announced that ten Xbox Live Arcade games will go on sale from April 1 through April 7. The full list of games hasn't been announced, though it will include <em>Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</em>, <em>South Park</em> and <em>Defense Grid</em>. Check out the full Xbox Live schedule after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/23/xbox-live-march-schedule-free-xbox-live-gold-xbla-sale/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Xbox Live March schedule: Free Xbox Live Gold, XBLA sale</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/23/xbox-live-march-schedule-free-xbox-live-gold-xbla-sale/">Xbox Live March schedule: Free Xbox Live Gold, XBLA sale</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 23 Mar 2010 13:47:00 EST. Seriously, guys? Everyone on the planet <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/12/modern-warfare-2-breaks-record-with-4-7-million-in-day-one-sales/">runs out and buys <em>Modern Warfare 2</em></a> and you're still playing <em>Call of Duty 4 </em>and <em>World at War</em>? We can understand you folks who chose to play <em>Halo 3</em> -- the whole <em>Modern Warfare 2</em> experience may not be your idea of a good time -- but <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2009/11/17/live-activity-for-week-of-nov-9th.aspx">Major Nelson's Xbox Live activity chart</a> for the week of November 9 simply vexes us.<br />
<br />
In less puzzling news, the XBLA activity is along the lines of something we're used to seeing. <em>Trials HD</em> remains atop the list, followed by <em>Castle Crashers</em> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/07/x3f-tv-xbla-in-brief-south-park-lucidity/"><em>South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play</em></a>. Konami's <em>Zombie Apocalypse</em> also managed to survive the gauntlet and make its way onto the list and, combined with the recent release of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/left-4-dead-2"><em>Left 4 Dead 2</em></a>, we feel mankind is finally starting to reach acceptable levels of preparation for the inevitable future of a world plagued by the undead.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/18/xbox-live-top-10-people-apparently-played-cod4-world-at-war/">Xbox Live Top 10: People apparently played CoD4, World at War</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 18 Nov 2009 10:30:00 EST. While our <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/xbox-live-top-ten">Live Top 10</a> posts are usually reserved for the endless slap fight between the <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo">Halo</a> </em>and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/call-of-duty"><em>Call of Duty</em></a> franchises -- <em>Halo 3</em> remains on top, if you must know -- our attention was drawn directly to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/xbla">Xbox Live Arcade</a> this week. <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2009/10/13/live-activity-for-week-of-oct-5th.aspx">Major Nelson</a> reports that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/south-park"><em>South Park: Let's Go Tower Defense Play</em></a> rests at the top of the most purchased XBLA games for the week, while <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/lucidity"><em>Lucidity</em></a> -- which debuted the same week to <a href="http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/xbox360/lucidity?q=lucidity">mixed reviews</a> -- failed to make the top ten at all. It's not a direct measurement of the title's early success, but it certainly doesn't bode well for LucasArts' original puzzle platformer.<br />
<br />
Based on the apparent success of <em>South Park</em> we have a suggestion for <em>Lucidity 2</em>: More cursing.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/13/xbox-live-top-10-luciditys-success-is-unclear/">Xbox Live Top 10: Lucidity's success is unclear</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 13 Oct 2009 18:15:00 EST. First, there's <em>South Park: Let's Go Tower Defense Play!</em>, which is a tower defense game based on <em>South Park</em>, of all things. Then there's <em>Lucidity</em>, an original puzzle platform game from LucasArts. After taking a quick jaunt through the trial versions of both games, we're pleased to say that both of them are quite enjoyable. <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2009/10/05/this-week-on-xlba-south-park-and-lucidity.aspx">Major Nelson</a> has announced that the two games gracing Xbox Live Arcade this week will be <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/lucidity"><em>Lucidity</em></a> and <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/south-park,xbla"><em>South Park LET'S GO TOWER DEFENSE PLAY</em></a>. The first is a puzzle platformer from LucasArts with a positively delightful art style, while the second ... well it's pretty self explanatory. It's a tower defense game set against the backdrop of the famous, quiet little mountain town. Both can be yours in exchange for 800<span class="album_title"><img border="0" alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" /> ($10).</span><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/05/this-wednesday-some-lucidity-for-south-park/">This Wednesday: Some Lucidity for South Park on XBLA</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 05 Oct 2009 15:58:00 EST. <strong>Update:</strong> Above, we've added our own footage form the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/sdcc-2009/">Comic-Con</a> show floor!<br /><br />Whatever you've been doing for the past 15 minutes, we promise you it's been more productive than us. See, we've been trying to make heads or tails of <a href="http://gamesblog.ugo.com/games/south-park-lets-go-tower-defense-play-trailer-kenny-is-dead-long-live-kenny">UGO</a>'s gameplay footage for <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/south-park-lets-go-tower-defense-play">South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play!</a> </em>you'll find after the break.<br /><br />It looks sort of like a typical tower defense game, except the kids seem to be building the towers themselves. Also, they're sort of like mobile towers of their own, and it seems that several people are playing cooperatively. It's all very puzzling, but at least it can't be worse than <em>Chef's Luv Shack</em>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/23/see-south-park-lets-go-tower-defense-play-in-action/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Comic-Con 2009: South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play! in action</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/23/see-south-park-lets-go-tower-defense-play-in-action/">Comic-Con 2009: South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play! in action</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 23 Jul 2009 19:15:00 EST. The <a href="http://xbox.joystiq.com/2008/07/18/e308-south-park-xbla-to-launch-in-2009/">mysterious</a> <em>South Park </em>Xbox Live Arcade game now has an official genre, release date and big public reveal at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/comic-con">San Diego Comic-Con</a>. <em>South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play!</em> is a tower defense game that'll launch "exclusively" on Xbox this October 7, which is allegedly when the next season of the long-running animated series starts.<br /><br />Also, during Comic-Con, there is a panel entitled "Save South Park One Snowball at a Time," which is where the game will be premiered. It's from 3:30-4:30PM in room 6A ... feel free to take your HD camera and send us some video.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/21/south-park-lets-go-tower-defense-play-hits-xbla-oct-7-prem/">'South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play!' hits XBLA Oct. 7, premiering at Comic-Con</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 21 Jul 2009 16:05:00 EST. Remember that epic trailer showcasing the new <em>South Park</em> game for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/xbla">Xbox Live Arcade</a>? All 2.4 seconds of it. No details were dropped regarding what type of game it would be but the <a href="http://www.southparkstudios.com/news/3492">South Park Studios</a> official site is already trying to fuel the hype train.<br />
<br />
A posting moments after it was unveiled at the conference reads: "A brand new <em>South Park</em> game is coming to Xbox Live in 2009. That's all we've got for now, but stay tuned for more details over the next few months. Let the speculations begin!"<br />
<br />
We don't have any guesses on what it will be but we hope it has nothing to do with that awful <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Park_(video_game)">first-person shooter</a> or the terrible <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Park_Rally">kart racing game</a> or that laughable <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Park:_Chef%27s_Luv_Shack">mini-game collection</a> or ... wait, are we supposed to speculate on whether or not it's going to suck?
