According to the statement, the device's release was moved in order to take advantage of a "last minute opportunity" to "ensure our first customers are completely satisfied with the Wikipad." Unfortunately, no new launch date has been set yet.

The team says that it's working with GameStop on dealing with current pre-orders, and that anyone who's already pre-ordered the product will not only get the "refined and upgraded" bundle when it's eventually released, but "a special bonus gift" as well. Again, there's no indication when that might happen, so we'll just have to wait and see what Wikipad's plans are going forward.
Continue reading Wikipad delayed on launch day, 'refined and upgraded bundles' to be announced soon

Wikipad delayed on launch day, 'refined and upgraded bundles' to be announced soon originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 31 Oct 2012 19:30:00 EST. It's so popular, in fact, that it justifies limited-edition hardware. That's a little unsettling, to us. It's hugely popular, but has never been released outside of Japan. Of course, Japan needs limited-edition DS Lites-- and all DS Lites, more than we do. Maybe this will add to the total supply.

This DS Lite comes packaged with Momotaro Dentetsu DS Tokyo & Japan, and features very small character portraits and the series title on the top of the system. It's a very restrained approach to the special edition system, which contrasts to the recent BeDazzling approach. Check after the break for a closeup of the system!
Continue reading Subtle limited-edition DS Lite from Hudson

Subtle limited-edition DS Lite from Hudson originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 17 Apr 2007 16:00:00 EST. Special Miis cannot be copied, only moved; if you try to put two identical Special Miis in a Plaza, they will disappear.

He has also figured out how to make "foreign" Miis, who are adorned with the blue pants worn by Miis made in other people's Wiis and visiting your Plaza. We have yet to verify this with our own Miis, so be careful when performing code surgery on your Mii.

We wonder what Nintendo thought gold pants would be an appropriate reward for. Maybe they're planning a Studio 54 Channel?
Mii pants hacking originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 06 Mar 2007 09:45:00 EST. For many of us, years of waiting ends tomorrow at 12:01 AM, a mere twenty-four hours from now. And indeed, perhaps almost as fun as the Wii itself will be the camping out, braving the elements with your fellow Nintendo die-hards. But, a word of caution.

As you very well may know, the PS3 launch was horrendously chaotic. Reports are still coming in from around the country on various shootings, robberies, mayhem, and general discourtesy. It's true that Nintendo will have a larger initial stock, but the demand is no less. We at the Fanboy kindly ask that you show patience and kindness during your launch-day festivities, and remember that you're all there for a common purpose. Should you fail to claim a system on the day of, please, show respect and courtesy to those around you regardless. A few days truly isn't that long in the grand scheme of the things, and the last thing we want is to see someone get hurt over something designed to bring enjoyment and fun to the masses.

And with that out of the way, it's time to rock this thing. Nintendo Wii, here we come!
A special message from Nintendo Wii Fanboy originally appeared on Joystiq on Fri, 17 Nov 2006 23:00:00 EST.
