Capcom has a sale running on four of its iOS titles. The discounted list includes <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/street-fighter-iv,@mobile"><em>Street Fighter 4</em></a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/resident-evil-mercenaries-vs"><em>Resident Evil Mercenaries Vs</em></a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/dead-rising-mobile"><em>Dead Rising Mobile</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/devil-may-cry-4-refrain"><em>Devil May Cry 4 Refrain</em></a>. If you've been waiting to pick any of these up, you can snag them now for just $0.99 each.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/20/capcom-knocks-select-ios-games-down-to-0-99/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Capcom knocks select iOS games down to $0.99</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/20/capcom-knocks-select-ios-games-down-to-0-99/">Capcom knocks select iOS games down to $0.99</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 20 Jun 2011 15:00:00 EST. If you've ever been even slightly curious about the iPhone version of <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/street-fighter-iv"><em>Street Fighter IV</em></a>, we encourage you to check it out today, for two reasons:
<ol>
	<li>
		It's 99 cents</li>
	<li>
		All proceeds from its sale for the next week are going to earthquake relief</li>
</ol>
So by buying it, you do a good deed <em>and</em> you get a cheap game. Capcom is also dropping the <em>Monster Hunter Frontier Online</em> fee for people in the affected Tohoku region of Japan, which should make from a nice distraction. In addition, the company is donating &yen;100 million ($1.23 million) to the relief effort, and reducing electricity usage at its arcades and other businesses in the area.<br />
<br />

One of the screenshots included with the update also shows Dee Jay, who, curiously, wasn't announced. Tiger uppercuts and MAXIMUM pants aren't the only new additions to the phone fighter, however: the update also adds a new feature that sounds like it's straight out of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/29/super-street-fighter-iv-3d-edition-trailer-shows-new-game-modes/">Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition</a></em>.<br />
<br />
You'll be able to turn on a new mode that searches for nearby players while you're in single-player, allowing them to challenge you to matches even while you're playing solo. You'll also be able to exchange "player cards," should you happen upon someone else who not only has <em>Street Fighter IV</em> for iPhone, but is playing it right then.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/16/sagat-new-multiplayer-mode-on-the-way-for-iphone-street-fighter/">Sagat, new multiplayer mode on the way for iPhone Street Fighter 4</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 16 Nov 2010 06:00:00 EST. Capcom's not looking to break its habit of scrunching down its popular franchises for use on the iPhone, it seems. Capcom Japan today <a href="http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2010/10/06/capcom_iphone_plans/">outlined</a> its mobile gaming plans for the near future -- plans which include the winter release of <em>Dead Rising Mobile</em> and "Capcom Arcade," a storefront which will host an expanding library of the developer's classic titles.<br />
<br />
<em>Dead Rising Mobile</em> will be a 3D action game in the vein of the series' console iterations with some form of Facebook and Twitter functionality. Capcom Arcade, much like the Xbox Live <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Game-Room/">Game Room</a>, will host a number of virtual arcade cabinets that require purchased "tokens" to play. Alternatively, permanent access to each game can be had for a larger, one-time fee. The Arcade service will launch before <em>Dead Rising Mobile</em> and will feature <em>Street Fighter II</em>, <em>Ghouls'n Ghosts</em>, <em>1942</em> and <em>Commando</em>.<br />
<br />
Finally, Capcom is also planning another update for the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Street-Fighter-IV,@iphone/">iPhone version</a> of <em>Street Fighter IV</em> in mid-to-late November. The update will include a new challenger (following the last update's introduction of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/09/street-fighter-4-iphone-adding-another-new-challenger-e-honda/">E. Honda</a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/10/c-viper-being-added-to-iphone-version-of-street-fighter-iv/">C. Viper</a>), in addition to a handful of new networking options. We can't wait to see which brawler we can put our thumbs on next! That ... didn't sound good.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/05/dead-rising-mobile-capcom-virtual-arcade-coming-to-iphone/">Dead Rising Mobile, Capcom virtual arcade coming to iPhone</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 05 Oct 2010 20:15:00 EST. She'll be added to the fighting game through a free update, in the same manner as previous additions <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/24/street-fighter-iv-iphone-update-unlocks-cammy-and-zangief/">Cammy and Zangief</a>. You can see a clip of Viper in action after the break, courtesy of <a href="http://wireless.ign.com/articles/111/1111281p1.html">IGN</a>.<br />
<br />
Capcom has yet to date this DLC, so you'll have to play Viper-free for now. In addition, Capcom hasn't made any announcement about a downloadable arcade stick for the iPhone, probably because that technology doesn't actually exist. <br type="_moz" /><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/10/c-viper-being-added-to-iphone-version-of-street-fighter-iv/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>C. We thought we'd take the opportunity to compare the graphics in this handheld version to the existing <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/street-fighter-iv,@iphone"><em>Street Fighter IV</em></a> on iPhone.<br />
<br />
However, there's not much of a comparison. The iPhone Street Fighter uses pre-rendered 2D sprites based on the console/arcade game's 3D models, for a look reminiscent of <em>Killer Instinct</em>. The 3DS game, on the other hand, appears to use lower-detail versions of the actual 3D models, judging by the dynamic camera angles. That's why you get to see the extreme close-up of Ken's goofy punch face up there. <br />
<br />
Of course, it's worth noting that these are early screenshots, and the final game may come out looking different. Given the relatively low texture detail, though, this looks like something that could be <em>possible</em> on a handheld system. Compare the two games yourself in our galleries. <br />

Looking to beef up your cast of brawlers in <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/street-fighter-iv,@iphone">Street Fighter IV</a></em> for iPhone? Capcom's released a free update today, unlocking Cammy and Zangief for all. For those of you keeping score, that brings the game's total roster up to ten fighters.<br />
<br />
So, can we ask a favor, Capcom? Can you add Dan to the game next? <em>Pretty please?</em> <br />

According to <a href="http://wireless.ign.com/articles/109/1095457p1.html">IGN</a>, Zangief will soon join his street fighting brethren on the iPhone. You can see video proof after the break. The Russian wrestler, like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/15/street-fighter-iv-on-iphone-adding-cammy-in-free-download/">Cammy</a>, will arrive via free DLC at some point in the near future.<br />
<br />
In other news, if you can pull off a spinning piledriver <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/10/video-the-elusive-iphone-shoryuken/"><em>without</em> using the special attack button</a>, you're officially done with video games. The iPhone/iPod Touch version of<em> Street Fighter IV</em> is $6.99 (30 percent off) on the <a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/street-fighter-iv/id354655665?mt=8">App Store</a> for the next few days, to promote the console release of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/26/review-super-street-fighter-iv/"><em>Super Street Fighter IV</em></a>. The game is regularly priced at $9.99, so those few extra dollars can be used on other games -- like, <a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/angry-birds/id343200656?mt=8&amp;ign-mpt=uo%3D2"><em>Angry Birds</em></a>.<br />
<br />
Now, we know what you're thinking: "How can <em>Street Fighter IV</em> work on iPhone?" Apparently pretty well: it's got a surprisingly high <a href="http://features.metacritic.com/features/2010/best-iphone-games-march-2010/">Metacritic</a> score.<br />

Well, it may very well be copious amounts of bare buttcheek. According to <a href="http://game.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/news/20100415_361395.html">Game Watch</a>, Cammy will come to Capcom's portable fighter in the form of a free download. <br />
<br />
We've contacted Capcom to ask when we can expect the ninth fighter to be added to our handheld repertoire.<br />

Or the second. Or the third.<br />
<br />
We learned this very quickly when trying out the game at Capcom's Fight Club event during <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/gdc-2010">GDC</a>. Granted, there is a simplified input configuration -- which we discovered after this video was shot -- but longtime <em>Street Fighter </em>fans could get a tad miffed by all the whiffs.<br />

Should you make the $10 investment for <em>SFIV,</em> <em>on your phone</em>, you'll probably want to spend some time in the game's expansive "Dojo" training mode before hitting the world circuit.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/10/video-the-elusive-iphone-shoryuken/">Video: The elusive iPhone Shoryuken</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 10 Mar 2010 10:30:00 EST. At a Capcom Fight Club event, Capcom launched <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/street-fighter-iv,@iphone"><em>Street Fighter I</em>V</a> for iPhone as fans watched -- which made for probably the most exciting iPhone game launch of all time. <br />
<br />
It's not showing up on the App Store just yet -- Capcom said it may take a couple of hours for the Apple servers to catch up -- but sometime tonight, you'll be able to swipe, swipe, swipe until you finally pull off a Hadouken.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/09/street-fighter-iv-available-on-iphone-tonight/">Street Fighter IV available on iPhone tonight</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 09 Mar 2010 22:13:00 EST. <br />
And while the trailer seen above features the same two fighters (Ken and Ryu) that the last video did, we certainly don't mind getting another chance to marvel at the uncanny vision of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/street-fighter-iv">Street Fighter IV</a></em> being played competitively on iPhones; it's quite like being drunk in North Korea -- something just doesn't <em>feel</em> right. The trailer also gives a "Coming March 2010" at the end, so it would seem that we don't have too much longer before we'll be able to marvel at the game from the comfort of our own phones.<br />

GamePro has <a href="http://www.gamepro.com/article/news/214131/sf4-iphone-10-with-8-characters">dropped some details</a> on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/15/street-fighter-iv-coming-to-iphone-why-are-you-laughing/">the iPhone version</a> of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/street-fighter-iv"><em>Street Fighter IV</em></a>, which is due out in March. The site has word that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/capcom">Capcom</a> will sell the game for $9.99 on Apple's App Store, and that it will feature a total of eight characters: Ryu, Ken, Guile, Blanka, Chun-Li, Dhalsim, M. Bison and Abel. While it hasn't shared any gameplay impressions yet, it did post a video, which you can see after the break. Surprisingly, the game looks just like <em>Street Fighter IV</em>, with the ultra moves, same colorful art style and other graphical touches from the bigger console versions. <br /> <br /> We're still not sure about playing with the touchscreen "buttons," though -- while they aren't in the way as much as we thought from the original screenshots (most of the fighting takes place in the middle of the screen), not having that tactile feedback could be a problem. Still, the game looks good. No exact release date yet, but like all those people hanging out in the backgrounds of these fights, we'll be watching.<br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-iv-iphone/">Street Fighter IV (iPhone)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-iv-iphone/#2733490"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/02/img0065_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-iv-iphone/#2733491"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/02/img0272_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-iv-iphone/#2733492"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/02/img1262_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-iv-iphone/#2733493"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/02/img1291_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-iv-iphone/#2733494"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/02/img1302_thumbnail.png" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/22/street-fighter-iv-for-iphone-has-eight-characters-will-cost-9/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>iPhone Street Fighter IV has eight characters, will cost $10</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/22/street-fighter-iv-for-iphone-has-eight-characters-will-cost-9/">iPhone Street Fighter IV has eight characters, will cost $10</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 22 Feb 2010 22:30:00 EST. No, no, seriously. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/street-fighter-iv"><em>Street Fighter IV</em></a>, the game, is actually going to come to Apple's portable, with somewhat scaled-down models lifted directly from its console big brother. Each character in the game also has their complete moveset, which you'll pull off with customizable on-screen virtual stick and buttons. In addition to warming up in Dojo Mode, you'll also be able to play against a friend via Bluetooth.<br />
<br />
Though Capcom's touting a large roster, all we know at this point is that it will include Ken and Ryu, as seen above. While we're curious about how Capcom will fill the ranks, what we <em>really</em> want to know is how they'll make it more enjoyable than it appears at first blush, which is <em>not at all enjoyable</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/15/street-fighter-iv-coming-to-iphone-why-are-you-laughing/">Street Fighter IV coming to iPhone ... why are you laughing?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 15 Feb 2010 13:11:00 EST. </a> </strong></em>If I had my way ... well, a lot of things would be different. When it came to video games, I'd make sure that everyone -- whether they own a Nintendo DS or not -- had a chance to play <em>Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes</em>. Now, I know, <em>Might and Magic</em>? Isn't that some long-dead RPG franchise that's probably best left in the ground? Well, yes -- but <em>Clash of Heroes</em> is about as far from any of the other games in the series as you can get. At its core, it's a puzzle game -- a combat puzzle game -- developed by Capybara, the same team behind PSN's wonderful <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/critter-crunch">Critter Crunch</a></em>. Take that game's core mechanic, add a load of clever new ones and build a story-driven experience around it and you have one of the finest (not to mention most addicting) DS games ever.</div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/02/best-of-the-rest-randys-picks-of-2009/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Best of the Rest: Randy's Picks of 2009</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/02/best-of-the-rest-randys-picks-of-2009/">Best of the Rest: Randy's Picks of 2009</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 02 Jan 2010 17:30:00 EST.
