On June 5, Capcom will make a bevy of new gems and the complete costume swap pack available for purchase.<br /><br />That doesn't mean there aren't freebies up for grabs. A new color palette and Wild Card booster pack - the latter is only available for download until June 19 - will debut alongside several new gem packs priced at 80 MS Points ($1) a pop. Finally, there's the complete swap costume pack to consider, which will set fightin' fashionistas back a hefty 1440 MS Points ($18).<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/26/street-fighter-x-tekken-adds-costume-and-gem-dlc-on-june-5/">Street Fighter X Tekken adds costume and gem DLC on June 5</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 26 May 2012 01:00:00 EST. This was probably Capcom's thought process when it launched the latest patch, which introduces a glitch that freezes the game whenever Rolento's knife hits an opponent's fireball.<br /><br />The above video demonstrates the bug, which affects Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 games that have been updated to version 1.04, <a href="http://shoryuken.com/2012/05/16/street-fighter-x-tekken-version-1-04-has-a-game-breaking-bug/">Shoryuken</a> reports. "We would like to assure you that we have been listening to your comments and as such have begun the process of re-evaluating how such additional game content is delivered in the future," Svensson says.<br /><br />This introspection follows <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/03/report-capcom-sees-no-distinction-between-on-disc-and-off-dis/">vicious complaints</a> about <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/street-fighter-x-tekken"><em>Street Fighter X Tekken</em></a>'s on-disc DLC, to which Capcom responded that it sees no distinction between on- and off-disc DLC. A few titles currently in production will ship with on-disc DLC, including<em> Dragon's Dogma</em>, Svensson writes.<br /><br />Capcom decided to add DLC on <em>Dragon's Dogma</em> discs "at the beginning of the game's development cycle as at the time this was determined to be the most efficient way of ensuring certain content was made available," according to Svensson. "You are being heard," Svensson concludes.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/15/capcom-re-evaluating-on-disc-dlc-is-listening/">Capcom re-evaluating on-disc DLC, is 'listening'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 15 May 2012 21:30:00 EST. The company brought in 82.1 billion yen (just over $1 billion), with its Consumer Online Games division responsible for 53.5 billion yen of that (23.9 percent lower than that division's performance last year).<br /><br />The performance dip can be attributed to the movement of <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/dragons-dogma"><em>Dragon's Dogma</em></a> out of the fiscal year (and into this month), and to outstanding performance of the company's titles last year. Capcom experienced <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/06/capcom-profits-soar-with-help-from-record-aaa-game-sales/">record sales</a> of its big games in fiscal 2011, and fiscal 2012 pales in comparison. <em>Monster Hunter Tri-G</em>, the Japan-exclusive 3DS version, topped the company's sales chart at 1.6 million copies. <em>Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City</em> also sold well; <em>Street Fighter X Tekken</em> "lagged" in comparison to expectations, though both it and ORC broke a million. <br /><br />Capcom didn't share sales data for its other releases, <em>Asura's Wrath, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, </em>and<em> Resident Evil Revelations</em>, merely acknowledging the games as things that came out.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/07/capcom-earnings-down-in-fiscal-2012-monster-hunter-tri-g-racco/">Capcom earnings down in fiscal 2012; Monster Hunter Tri-G, Raccoon City, Street Fighter X Tekken sell a million each</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 07 May 2012 13:30:00 EST. The highlights include infinite combo fixes for Kazuya, Xiaoyu, Pac-Man and Kuro (so no more of <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EG2wvzyypvU">this</a>). The last update, which went live <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/23/street-fighter-x-tekken-update-dropping-tomorrow-with-new-gems/">earlier this week</a>, added new gems to the in-game store.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/brelston/blog/2012/04/27/street_fighter_x_tekken_patch_notes,_infinites,_frame_data_and_more_addressed">Capcom-Unity</a> has the full list of changes. Other fixes include changes to some damage properties and frame data for a bunch of fighters, including Ogre, Juri, Rufus, Zangief and more.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/27/next-street-fighter-x-tekken-update-in-may-kills-infinite-combo/">Next Street Fighter X Tekken update in May, kills infinite combos</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 27 Apr 2012 23:59:00 EST. A massive, <em>massive</em> batch of gems is to delivered to the game tomorrow via update, along with a "replay analyzer." It caught us off guard at first, because the analyzer's purpose/function is not described in the <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/brelston/blog/2012/04/23/street_fighter_x_tekken_update_arrives_tomorrow_w_replay_analyzer_and_tons_o_gems">Capcom Unity</a> announcement from which this news originates.<br /><br />Ater a little digging, however, we uncovered an <a href="http://us.playstation.com/games-and-media/add-ons/street-fighter-x-tekken-replay-analyzer.html">official description</a> of the feature, which describes it as "a tool that will show you various data from a replay." Ah, yes, <em>of course</em>. It all seems so obvious in hindsight. Because, you see, he told Edge that <a href="http://www.edge-online.com/news/harada-tekken-will-never-have-paid-dlc-characters">no <em>Tekken</em> game will ever have DLC characters</a> at all.<br /><br />That's quite a pronouncement. He clarified that he doesn't have a problem with Capcom doing it, noting that their motives may be different from his. But Harada sees, he said, "the characters and their move sets as chess pieces - they are essential items necessary in the game and we would never sell any of those individually."<br /><br />That doesn't rule out DLC completely, as Harada added that vanity items that might be added to the game after the fact would likely come with a charge. Characters might also be added to a <em>Tekken</em> game in advance as pre-order incentives, as long as they could eventually be unlocked by all players in the game. But as for after-the-fact characters, you won't find any of those in <em>Tekken x Street Fighter</em> if Harada has his way.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/17/tekken-producer-harada-no-dlc-characters-for-us/">Tekken producer Harada: No DLC characters for us</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 17 Apr 2012 15:30:00 EST. Speaking to <a href="http://au.gamespot.com/news/on-disc-dlc-an-ugly-truth-says-gears-of-war-designer-6370601">GameSpot</a>, the well-known designer noted that prior to a game finally shipping, there are "often three or four months where the game is basically done," leaving developers with "an idle team that needs to be working on things."<br /><br />For the sake of compatibility, some downloadable content may need to be located on the disc itself. "It's an ugly truth of the gaming industry," Bleszinski added, "I'm not the biggest fan of having to do it, but it is one of the unfortunate realities." Once the industry goes entirely digital, he said, the issue will be obsolete.<br /><br />Capcom recently raised the ire of its fans when it was discovered that upcoming downloadable characters were already on the disc. The publisher stated that the content was included on the disc in order to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/05/capcom-street-fighter-x-tekken-dlc-on-disc-to-ensure-compatibil/">ensure compatibility</a> by offering a "single, unified version of the game." In a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/03/report-capcom-sees-no-distinction-between-on-disc-and-off-dis/">response to Better Business Bureau complaints</a>, the company later stated its belief that there is "effectively no distinction" between bonus content included on a disc and downloaded content.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/10/bleszinski-on-disc-dlc-an-unfortunate-necessity/">Bleszinski: On-disc DLC an unfortunate necessity</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 10 Apr 2012 12:00:00 EST. Capcom went to Rome last week to reveal PS3/Vita crossplay for the fighter, using both Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity. Some of those PS3 players will be using arcade sticks. Good luck!<br /><br /><em>Street Fighter X Tekken</em> on Vita will also have touch controls. Details have yet to be announced, but if they're anything like the touch controls on <em>Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3</em>, just don't think too much about it anymore.<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> We have tons of videos and screens for you of the new Vita game; above, check out an eight-minute "episode" introducing the Vita characters; after the break, check out gameplay.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-x-tekken-vita-4-10-12/">Street Fighter X Tekken Vita (4/10/12)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-x-tekken-vita-4-10-12/#4954379"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/04/sfxtvitablankanormal3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-x-tekken-vita-4-10-12/#4954380"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/04/sfxtvitablankaspecial2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-x-tekken-vita-4-10-12/#4954381"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/04/sfxtvitabryanspecial2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-x-tekken-vita-4-10-12/#4954382"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/04/sfxtvitachristispecial2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-fighter-x-tekken-vita-4-10-12/#4954383"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/04/sfxtvitacodynormal3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/10/vita-street-fighter-x-tekken-has-cross-platform-online-multiplay/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Vita Street Fighter X Tekken has cross-platform online multiplayer with PS3 [update: screens and video]</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/10/vita-street-fighter-x-tekken-has-cross-platform-online-multiplay/">Vita Street Fighter X Tekken has cross-platform online multiplayer with PS3 [update: screens and video]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 10 Apr 2012 11:23:00 EST. The patch not only tackles the sound vacuum, but also addresses gem complaints -- specifically, how annoying it is to set up gem combinations right now.<br /><br />Users will be able to set gem combinations from the versus screen as opposed to having to go through each individual fighter and setting combinations that way. A demonstration of the new gem system, as well as an overview of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/16/capcom-lays-out-street-fighter-x-tekken-dlc-schedule-and-pricing/">the upcoming DLC schedule</a>, can be seen in the above video from the folks at Capcom-Unity.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/03/hello-street-fighter-x-tekken-sound-and-gem-patch-drops-april-1/">Hello? Some were riled enough to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, with <a href="http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Capcom-Responds-BBB-Complaints-Distinction-Between-DLC-Disc-Locked-Content-41021.html">Cinema Blend</a> posting a response from Capcom reportedly received by several consumers. Capcom's statement defends the practice, noting that the company is sorry for customers that feel disappointed, though it adds that the game includes "an enormous amount of content" out of the box.<br /><br />As for the DLC itself, the statement echoes <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/05/capcom-street-fighter-x-tekken-dlc-on-disc-to-ensure-compatibil/">Capcom's previous remarks</a>, saying that the on-disc content "will provide more flexible and efficient gameplay throughout the game's lifecycle." The statement adds that the only difference between on-disc and off-disc DLC is delivery method, with Capcom nothing there is "effectively no distinction" between them.<br /><br />For what it's worth, Capcom has closed <a href="http://www.bbb.org/greater-san-francisco/business-reviews/video-games-wholesale-and-manufacturers/capcom-usa-in-san-mateo-ca-189796">10 complaints with the BBB</a> over the last 12 months, six of those coming since March 27, after the launch of <em>Street Fighter X Tekken</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/03/report-capcom-sees-no-distinction-between-on-disc-and-off-dis/">Report: Capcom sees 'no distinction' between on-disc and off-disc DLC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 03 Apr 2012 10:00:00 EST. While this doesn't cause any technical problems for law-abiding citizens or break the game in any way, Capcom is <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/ask_capcom/go/thread/view/7371/29004783/*sigh*_Fought_a_DLC_character_over_live_earlier_tonight?pg=2">unpleased</a>: "Quite ballsy for folks to be taking hacked Xbox 360s on Live where they are detectable," said Capcom senior vice-president Christian Svensson. "In any event, we already have openned channels of communication with MS on these issues Friday night."<br /><br />Initially, Svensson asked members of the Capcom Unity forums to take screenshots and record videos of offenders, but that thread has since been closed. "We'll catch them ourselves," Svensson added, presumably just before donning a cloak and cowl and jumping out the nearest open window.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/19/capcom-on-the-hunt-for-street-fighter-x-tekken-hackers/">Capcom on the hunt for Street Fighter X Tekken hackers</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 19 Mar 2012 21:30:00 EST. Each costume will set you back 80 MS Points ($1) each, or 1040 MS Points ($13) each for all SF or all Tekken fighters. Also, Capcom will release some free colors for customization and three new quick combo slots for each fighter.<br /><br />After the April stuff, Capcom will release a free tournament support update that makes it easier to select gems at the character select screen through some kind of "dial system." Following that is a title update that will add "three new Assist Gem packs and six new Boost Gem packs, which add over 60 gems to the selection pool," <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/brelston/blog/2012/03/16/new_costumes,_gems,_patches_and_more_coming_to_street_fighter_x_tekken">Capcom-Unity</a> reports. Each character will also get three more customizable gem sets, bringing the total up to five for each fighter.<br /><br />Finally, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/02/street-fighter-x-tekkens-12-ps-vita-characters-will-come-to-con/">those 12 characters</a> coming to consoles after the Vita version of <em>Street Fighter X Tekken</em> launches are priced as a set at 1600 MS Points ($20). Assistant producer Tomoaki Ayano explained its absence in a translated statement on <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/gregaman/blog/2012/03/13/sfxt_dev_blog:_online_update">Capcom-Unity</a>.<br /><br />"Throughout the development process, there are times when new features are added (and we added a lot of them!) and there are also times where we have to make tough decisions regarding things to cut," Ayano said. "This was one of those times. This mode is supported in the PlayStation 3 version, however, since we tackled that earlier and found the architecture of their system to be more conducive to implementing it."<br /><br />Ayano apologized for the omission, and said that information about further game updates would be "coming up soon."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/14/street-fighter-x-tekken-producer-explains-absent-xbox-360-co-op/">Street Fighter X Tekken producer explains absent Xbox 360 co-op</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 14 Mar 2012 10:00:00 EST. According to <a href="http://www.chart-track.co.uk/?i=1289&amp;s=1111">Chart-Track</a>, first week sales of the space opera's conclusion sold more than the first two installments combined, likely assisted by the fact that this is the first Mass Effect entry launched on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC simultaneously.<br /><br />Capcom's <em>Street Fighter X Tekken</em> put up a fight against overwhelming odds and debuted in third, while last week's top performer, <em>SSX</em>, slipped one spot into second, with a 49 percent decline. The other new entry in the top ten last week -- also, another EA title -- was the latest Sims expansion, <em>The Sims 3: Showtime</em>, which walked the red carpet in sixth.<br /><br />The UK top ten can be scanned after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/12/you-gethed-it-mass-effect-3-tops-uk-charts/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>You gethed it, Mass Effect 3 tops UK charts</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/12/you-gethed-it-mass-effect-3-tops-uk-charts/">You gethed it, Mass Effect 3 tops UK charts</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 12 Mar 2012 10:00:00 EST. According to the manual included with both versions, the game's tag team modes allow you and a local friend to sign on to the same console and fight against two other people online; your buddy presses start at the character select screen and off you go. In actuality, this functionality only exists in the PS3 version of the game.<br /><br />The issue has been <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/ask_capcom/go/thread/view/7371/28972471/Will_2_player_local_co-op_(on_XBL)_be_patched_in_for_the_360_version_of_SFxT">acknowledged by </a><a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/ask_capcom/go/thread/view/7371/28972471/Will_2_player_local_co-op_(on_XBL)_be_patched_in_for_the_360_version_of_SFxT">Christian Svensson</a> at Capcom, who stated that Capcom has no plans to patch the feature in, and that its inclusion in the manual was a mistake. "The reason for this difference is because of the architecture differences between [Xbox Live] gamertags and PSN IDs. I'm not sure of the technical details, but basically it amounts to: Sony made it so you can mix and match online and offline, and Microsoft made it so you can't."<br /><br />That sounded like a reasonable explanation, until we remembered that the 360 version of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/mortal-kombat-2011"><em>Mortal Kombat</em></a> does that <em>exact thing</em>, allowing two local players to take part in tag-team battles online. If it's possible for NetherRealm Studios to include the feature in <em>Mortal Kombat</em> -- the MK studio's first release under the NetherRealm banner -- its exclusion from Capcom's brand-new flagship fighter seems strange at the very least.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/06/street-fighter-x-tekken-cant-take-local-teams-online-on-xbox-360/">Street Fighter X Tekken can't take local teams online on Xbox 360</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 06 Mar 2012 17:00:00 EST. The retailer also recently announced that it <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/29/game-not-stocking-mass-effect-3/">won't carry <em>Mass Effect 3</em></a> and future EA titles. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/street-fighter-x-tekken">Street Fighter X Tekken</a> and <em>Asura's Wrath</em> are both slated to launch in the UK this Friday, March 9.<br /><br />Capcom confirmed the news to <a href="http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/game-not-stocking-street-fighter-x-tekken-and-asura-s-wrath/092246">MCV</a>, which notes that the availability of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/resident-evil-operation-raccoon-city"><em>Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City</em></a>, Capcom's next big title, is still up in the air. A spokesperson stated, "Capcom wants to reassure its consumers that both these titles, including the Special Edition of <em>Street Fighter X Tekken</em>, will be available at a wide variety of retailers across the UK and Ireland." The spokesperson added that refunds will be issued to those with pre-orders for either <em>Asura's Wrath</em> or <em>Street Fighter X Tekken</em>, advising customers to contact their local GAME or Gamestation.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/05/game-also-not-stocking-street-fighter-x-tekken-asuras-wrath/">GAME also not stocking Street Fighter X Tekken, Asura's Wrath</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 05 Mar 2012 18:15:00 EST. Some fans were riled by the revelation, enough so that Capcom has <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/brelston/blog/2012/03/05/street_fighter_x_tekken:_12_new_characters_coming_to_consoles,_pc_this_fall">issued a statement</a> on the matter.<br /><br />According to the publisher, the DLC was placed on the disc in order to "save hard drive space and to ensure for a smooth transition when the DLC is available." Capcom community manager Brett Elston elaborated that including the DLC on the disc will allow all users to play against one another, regardless of whether or not they have purchased the DLC. Having a single, unified version of the game, said Elston, allows "everyone to participate in the update without additional patches or hiccups."<br /><br />Another reason for the on-disc content, said Elston, is Capcom's promise to avoid a "super" version of <em>SFxT</em> akin to <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/ultimate-marvel-vs-capcom-3">Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3</a>.</em> Capcom's full statement can be found after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/05/capcom-street-fighter-x-tekken-dlc-on-disc-to-ensure-compatibil/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Capcom: Street Fighter X Tekken DLC on-disc to ensure compatibility</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/05/capcom-street-fighter-x-tekken-dlc-on-disc-to-ensure-compatibil/">Capcom: Street Fighter X Tekken DLC on-disc to ensure compatibility</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 05 Mar 2012 17:15:00 EST. Well, it looks like at least one of them may already be on the 360 version. <em>Awkward</em>.<br /><br />In the video above, YouTube user <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/SoulReaperTTG">SoulReaperTTG</a> demonstrates a glitch that allows the player to select Elena (one of the 12 DLC characters) and fight with her normally. While we don't know how the glitch <em>actually works</em>, it appears to be based on tricking the game into loading Elena's character data instead of Poison's. This isn't Poison wearing Elena's skin, either; anyone familiar with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/street-fighter-3-third-strike-online-edition"><em>Third Strike</em></a> will instantly recognize Elena's moves as being distinctly her own.<br /><br />SoulReaperTTG's <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/SoulReaperTTG/videos">channel</a> also features prologue videos for some of the DLC characters, supposedly recovered from the 360 version of the game. Now, because the game isn't actually out yet, we have no way of knowing if the retail version actually shipped with this content, or if Elena's inclusion is unique to the pre-release version SoulReaperTTG got his hands on. We anticipate extensive sleuthing to commence once the game releases this Tuesday, and have reached out to Capcom for comment.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/04/some-street-fighter-x-tekken-character-dlc-may-exist-on-disc-el/">Some Street Fighter X Tekken character DLC may exist on disc, Elena playable via glitch</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 04 Mar 2012 19:30:00 EST. We're alright with this, because it means we'll at least get <em>one</em> week of fighting regular characters online. As soon as Mega/Pac-Man are available, we don't expect to see anyone else, ever again.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/03/street-fighter-x-tekkens-pac-man-and-mega-man-hits-ps3s-on-marc/">Street Fighter X Tekken's Pac-Man and Mega Man hit PS3s on March 13</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 03 Mar 2012 10:30:00 EST. We just have one question: DLC or Ultimate Edition release?<br /><br />"We'll find a way to make sure that console fans are happy, as well," Killian noted at last night's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/02/capcom-hosts-a-street-fighter-x-tekken-launch-party-in-los-angel/">launch party</a> in Los Angeles. Sadly, he wouldn't go into specifics on when or how the additional dozen would be added to the console version. The 12 characters in question are Street Fighter's Elena, Guy, Cody, Sakura, Dudley and Blanka, and Tekken's Alisa, Christie, Jack, Brian, Lars and Lei.<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> Reader Joel wrote in to tell us about <a href="http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2012/mar/02/info-street-fighter-x-tekkens-12-new-characters-coming-april-karins-copyright-issues-and-much-more/">this interview</a>, where Capcom's Yoshinori Ono promised all content updates in <em>Street Fighter X Tekken</em> would be offered as DLC, intimating that these 12 characters would be no exception -- it would seem they'll come to consoles as DLC. We'll hear more in April when Capcom holds its annual Captivate event.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/02/street-fighter-x-tekkens-12-ps-vita-characters-will-come-to-con/">Street Fighter X Tekken's 12 PS Vita characters will come to console [update]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 02 Mar 2012 15:00:00 EST. Some of fighting's finest were in attendance as well, including Capcom's Seth Killian and <em>Street Fighter</em> producer Yoshinori Ono.<br /><br />You can browse through the gallery below to see what it was like. Keep eye out for art being made live by Capcom artists, Yoshinoro Ono doing a (very excited) signing, and a big wall hanging featuring all of Capcom's long and storied fighting game history. <em>Street Fighter X Tekken</em> finally arrives in stores everywhere next week.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-figher-x-tekken-launch-party-in-los-angeles/">Street Fighter X Tekken launch party in Los Angeles</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-figher-x-tekken-launch-party-in-los-angeles/#4862592"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/sfxtlaunchparty1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-figher-x-tekken-launch-party-in-los-angeles/#4862593"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/sfxtlaunchparty2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-figher-x-tekken-launch-party-in-los-angeles/#4862594"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/sfxtlaunchparty3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-figher-x-tekken-launch-party-in-los-angeles/#4862595"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/sfxtlaunchparty4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/street-figher-x-tekken-launch-party-in-los-angeles/#4862596"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/sfxtlaunchparty7_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/02/capcom-hosts-a-street-fighter-x-tekken-launch-party-in-los-angel/">Capcom hosts a Street Fighter X Tekken launch party in Los Angeles</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 02 Mar 2012 10:00:00 EST. A series of challenges will allow you to unlock Ryu and Kazuma costumes, enabling you to spice up your brawls with hadoukens and jump kicks.<br /><br />For the ultimate "stuff you never thought about doing in Home" experience, you can even pre-order the game from within the virtual world, getting access to a pack of in-game Gems.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/28/street-fighter-x-tekken-promo-brings-violent-altercations-to-ps/">Street Fighter X Tekken promo brings violent altercations to PS Home</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 28 Feb 2012 15:30:00 EST. The very fiber of your being, thrown to the four winds, never again to coalesce into the person you once were. Ennui, pure and desolate, in hadouken form. <br /><br />But hey, don't let that discourage you from trying! When you know the darkness is coming, you can prepare for it, which is why we recommend watching the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/street-fighter-x-tekken"><em>Street Fighter X Tekken</em></a> combo exhibition by DESK embedded above. Many of the techniques in this video will likely be seen online shortly after the game's launch, so study up. After all, as <em>Mortal Kombat</em> taught us, <em>knowledge is power</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/26/gaze-upon-your-impending-destruction-in-this-street-fighter-x-te/">Gaze upon your impending destruction in this Street Fighter X Tekken combo exhibition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 26 Feb 2012 17:00:00 EST. In addition to the PS3/Vita-exclusive <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/26/pummel-historys-worst-mega-man-in-street-fighter-x-tekken/">Pac-Man, Mega Man</a>, Cole, Toro, and Kuro, Capcom announced twelve extra characters on Vita as part of its Street Fighter 25th Anniversary celebration. The portable fighter will have exclusive access to Street Fighter's Elena, Guy, Cody, Sakura, Dudley and Blanka, and Tekken's Alisa, Christie, Jack, Brian, Lars and Lei.<br /><br />There may yet be time for these new fighters to show up in the console game: Capcom said that the Vita version would be released in the fall. That gives the publisher plenty of time to release the characters as console DLC. In any case, where's our <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/16/vita-street-fighter-x-tekken-will-share-dlc-with-ps3-version-ma/">tiny arcade stick</a>?<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/21/street-fighter-x-tekken-out-on-vita-this-fall-with-12-more-chara/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Street Fighter X Tekken out on Vita this fall with 12 more characters</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/21/street-fighter-x-tekken-out-on-vita-this-fall-with-12-more-chara/">Street Fighter X Tekken out on Vita this fall with 12 more characters</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 21 Feb 2012 13:30:00 EST. The <a href="http://sxsw.com/interactive/screenburn/arcade">ScreenBurn Arcade</a> portion of ScreenBurn is open to the general public, and to kick things off the first day of the Arcade will feature a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/street-fighter-x-tekken"><em>Street Fighter X Tekken</em></a> tournament, presented by IGN Pro League.<br /><br />An exhibition-style tournament, the event will be more of a spectator activity, rather than something that the public can enter and participate in. Still, it'll be a good opportunity to see highly technical play of the game just after its release. Since attending the ScreenBurn Arcade doesn't require a SXSWi pass, Austinites interested in the future of fighting can swing by the Palmer Center between 3PM and 7 PM Central on March 9 to scope out the tourney. If you see a complete dork dressed like Dan Hibiki, come say hi.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/17/sxswi-screenburn-arcade-to-host-street-fighter-x-tekken-tourname/">SXSWi ScreenBurn Arcade to host Street Fighter X Tekken tournament</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 17 Feb 2012 14:20:00 EST. Judging from these 6 prologue videos, however, <em>SFxT</em> may have the <em>least</em> ridiculous concept ever seen in a cross-over fighter.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/11/glimpse-street-fighter-x-tekkens-premise-in-these-character-pro/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Glimpse Street Fighter X Tekken's premise in these character prologue trailers</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/11/glimpse-street-fighter-x-tekkens-premise-in-these-character-pro/">Glimpse Street Fighter X Tekken's premise in these character prologue trailers</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 11 Feb 2012 22:00:00 EST. Bison, Xiaoyu, Akuma, Jin and Ogre.<br /><br />M. Bison and Xiaoyu were <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/01/xiaoyu-and-m-bison-leaked-for-street-fighter-x-tekken/">leaked once already</a>, but this is the first we've heard of Akume, Jin or Ogre's inclusion in the game. This collector's edition also includes a 46 track soundtrack and a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/27/street-fighter-the-movie-the-yoshinori-ono-re-enaction/">Yoshinori Ono</a> bobble-head figurine (!!), so we're desperately hoping that the US will get a similar package. <p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/04/m-bison-xiaoyu-akuma-jin-and-ogre-confirmed-for-sfxt/">M.
